Chronicles of the primeval gods : Life of Asma: Deadly shenanigans

Chronicles of the primeval gods : Life of Asma: Deadly shenanigans

A/N : Ta-da daaaaaa, look who's back ?

XXXX

Asma was sitting at a dining table, a glass of wine, and a nice caesar salad. She woke up one day, feeling empowered and hopeful. It was a new emotion she was studying ever since she woke up that day. « Hope » In this world, apathy, and determinism had taken over, once the goddess of hope was cursed. Suddenly, it felt as if the world had never known her existence. People became unable to Hope and let their future be decided by Fate. For as long as she remembered, the young woman never felt quite right but that very day, when she woke up, she felt reinvigorated. She felt alive again, daring, and more importantly, she believed that tomorrow could be better... different. So she painted it. She painted Hope. It made her famous and somehow, strengthened Elpis' presence on Earth.

She couldn't remember how she used to be before Hope returned in her heart, but she definitely changed. She became bolder, stronger, and wasn't as sheltered as she used to be before. The world wasn't as scary as it was, her future wasn't determined by Fate, she was her own person and she could try and change her life with no idea of the outcome. Somehow, it was helping her feel more alive. She couldn't remember her time with the Sin nor being a host to a powerful goddess. Those elements had been erased from her memory by Pride after Elpis was set free. She would never be able to remember just how intense her encounter with that creature was, nor the fact she fell in love with him. She would never be able to remember the wonders she saw, ancient magic, powerful magic, and the influence a sin could have on men.

She could never remember the shivers she felt when she was in Pride's presence, and watched as his eyes turned into purple flames or her encounter with Elpis' now-killed siblings. It was for the best. Pride did the right thing when he spared her life and made sure she couldn't remember him because he knew that with her out there, Elpis' siblings or even he would try to get information from her. At least, she was safe, or so he thought. Being a new-socialite, she was able to meet people and attract a serious fanbase. She became friends with a mesmerizing blonde with green eyes. They met at her art gallery, was it a few weeks, a few months, a few days ago? She couldn't remember but felt that it had been forever since she'd known her. She was a famous curator who was so influential that she could make or break your art. Asma was fascinated with her, mesmerized by her aura and her charisma and therefore, had been seeing her from time to time. Today was no exception.

« I apologize for being so late, Asma. I had errands to run. »

« You don't have to apologize, Ayasha. I was enjoying myself. » -She said, smiling softly at the blonde who sat in front of her.-

Ayasha couldn't believe her eyes when she first saw this human. She looked just like Elpis and if it wasn't for the eyes looking off, she would have thought she had found her. The blonde deity savored this encounter. She decided that for maximum effect, she would become friends with this human, entertain her for a while, and kill her without mercy. She needed to get back at Elpis, she needed to gain this human's trust completely before squeezing the life out of her. She hated her kindness. She hated her compassion and she hated her ability to find beauty in everything. There were several instances where she wanted to be done with her but had to refrain from doing so. So it was all an act, from her fake smile to the fake joy she felt when meeting with her. Yet, at the same time, the goddess of knowledge, couldn't stop seeing her.

« When do you think your last piece would be ready? » She asked while fetching herself a glass of wine.

« I don't know... I expect it to be done in a couple weeks. I have yet so many details to add. It's a huge piece, Ayasha. » She said, leaning her cheek into her warm palm.

« What is it about? Hope again? » She nodded and Ayasha bit her inner cheek. « Why do you want to keep painting Hope, and use your body as the goddess of Hope? »

« It feels right when I do that. This whole exhibition is about my journey, isn't it? I wasn't always the woman you know...I wasn't always open to the world, ready to take on new challenges. I was... I felt empty. Then I woke up, anew. It felt like I was reborn and this is what I want to celebrate. » She smiled and dug in her dish.

« Does Pride reminds you of something? » Ayasha asked, still wondering if the human received visits from the Sin.

It appeared that Pride had not contacted the human ever since she was returned to her normal life. He simply wiped her mind as a parting gift for her but Ayasha knew he just couldn't leave her alone. Asma had something about her, that made the Sin want to protect her. She had something inside of her that made the Sin spare her and therefore, Ayasha thought he would have some ways to protect her... or at the very least look after her. She wanted the Sin to know she was holding the life of this fragile human in her hands.

« It's a personification of one of humanity's basic flaws...Other than that, I don't see what you mean. Should I know something more? » She asked, curbing a brow to a bemused Ayasha.

«No... not particularly. I was just trying to see if you could incorporate all the seven sins next to Hope. After, all they are all part of mankind, aren't they? » -Asma chuckled and nodded.

« I'll think about it. Why don't you order something, Ayasha? I'm starving but I feel a bit self-conscious to be eating all alone. »

Ayasha chuckled and stopped a waiter. Her smile turned sinister as Asma was looking at her dish again. While she could use her time with the human as a catharsis. In a way, the doppelganger would help her say goodbye to her sister, rehearse before the actual confrontation with Elpis. Oh, the joys of being on the mortal realm. !
