trivia and Headcanons: Neela (TVD edition)

• Neela is actually 825 years old

• Klasma is the name of the Ship. I won't change it, we like it that way. 

• Neela loves to be bitten by Klaus. it's a bit of a blood play between the two of them, something they both share, their love language of sorts. he bites, and she gives herself freely. 

• She owes her power and immortality to a curse she received from her coven because she helped the originals. It was seen as a betrayal and for this crime, she was forced to live an eternal life of torment. 

• Her curse gave her golden eyes. She also feels pain whenever a negative emotion overwhelms her. So whenever she's angry, upset, in pain, or anything bad, her body would make her feel some excruciating pain. 

• She is loyal to Klaus. Do not try to seduce her, do not try to trash Klaus in front of her or make her believe that he is cheating on her. 

• She is vulnerable to silver and to vervain. She also isn't welcome anywhere she goes. Humans hunt her, Werewolves want to kill her, Vampires don't like her, Witches are trying to kill her and the rest of the supernatural creatures don't want anything to do with her. Which is the main result of her curse. 

• She is extremely powerful and well-versed in both magic but also anatomy.

• Neela is touch-deprived. extremely touch-deprived so the slightest touch would cause a chain reaction that can't be stopped. 

• Klaus had slaughtered her whole family. She wanted to kill him for a while, even after Elijah came to her rescue and became a "friend" of hers. Over time, and as her curse made it clear that those feelings were hurting her, she decided to be productive, to remain a healer, and to help him instead. 

• The Witch fell in love with Klaus very fast, perhaps too fast for her liking. Her loneliness makes it difficult for her to watch him go. 

• Neela had to bounce from one place to another due to her curse. She settled at Mystic Falls but knows it might be temporary. She has a herbalist shop where she gets the visit of the local naturopaths and supernatural creatures interested in unguents and potions. 

• Elijah used her for his family's sake. She was so lonely that she forced herself to believe he was a friend when he wasn't. Klaus told her the truth, bursting her bubble but for the best. 

• She calls Klaus "My Hybrid" and he calls her "My Witch"

• She has a love/ hate relationship with Elijah. He was her only friend for centuries and she appreciated spending time with him, but at the same time, he was using her and hiding her existence from the rest of the family, which makes her hate him. 

• She is a very stubborn woman. She is determined to help others even when they don't want to. 

• She believes her coven was in the wrong for cursing her because all she did was help another living creature, which aligns with their coven's beliefs that all life is sacred. it's ironic that the very person who caused her curse was oblivious to her very needs for centuries.

• For now, the only Originals she had met are Elijah and Klaus. The others have been helped one way or another but she had never met them in person. 

• She had met Elena and the gang. She remains quiet and distant but always tries to help them to the best of her abilities. Bonnie suspects that she is a witch but can't prove it just yet. 

• There are several rogue witches who are after her. The first one to do so is Abigail Jones. She believed that the "Usurper" actually existed and had to be found and eliminated for good and despite orders from her supreme, Abigail went on a quest to find Mary and kill her.  Should she fail, other witches have chosen the same path. 

•  Neela has known love. She tried to build relationships before she was cursed but it didn’t lead to anything. However, since her curse and self-imposed solitude, the witch had not loved anyone, nor been in contact with people (save for Elijah). She avoided people, to avoid heartbreak. She avoided love to protect her heart, especially after realizing that she wasn’t in love with Elijah but was craving company. Any company. With Klaus, she’s grown feelings for him. She enjoys his company, and she has his best interest in mind. She wants to help him and would. He can count on her for she would always listen to him, comfort him, flirt with him, and give him her heart. However, she still tries to protect her heart from being broken by the hybrid.

• She is a healer. Despite the traumas, she had to face (most likely the slaughter of her family, and the death of her coven), Mary wants to heal others. Her immortality actually changed her perspective on life and death. Life is even more precious to her, and she would do her best to protect the living and honor the dead. She doesn’t want Klaus to die, perhaps even more than she expected to feel. Klaus is her kin, and she would fight for him.

• Neela IS anger incarnate. She’s been angry from the moment she lost her family to Klaus’ rampage. She remained angry when her coven cursed her because she felt it wasn’t fair. Her anger causes her pain, and trying to reign it in, also causes her pain. So please, and helping people, actually help her soothe her body and soul and feel less pain.

• She doesn't finish her sentences. She always trails midway through her sentence (this drives Klaus Mad). She also tends to white knight her way into people's lives

•  She drinks wine, has sex, and also helps people because it soothes her pain (the one due to her curse). She had Elijah with whom she could sporadically talk.

• The Witch is a beautiful woman, her beauty has something eery and vintage. Mary dyes her hair pink ombre in order to avoid detection and is not above dying in other colors should she need to hide again. 

• She has a tendency to white-knight her way into people's lives. Which could be endearing or straight-up annoying. Klaus warned her not to try and white-knight him. 

• Neela doesn't want Klaus to go on a rampage and kill innocent lives. She doesn't mind taking the lives of those who are after him or those who threaten innocent people but she's not about to accept he goes on a rampage and slaughters people for the kicks of it.

• When she's happy or when she's having sex, Neela can't control her powers and end up destroying the place she's at. (walls tremble, furniture breaks..) 

• She had forgotten her real name, the name of her family, and even their faces. After 800 years, it all became a blur. 

• Neela isn't her real name. It's the name she uses for now. She usually changes her name so it would become difficult to trace her over time. 

• Neela had tried to connect with people, especially humans. It always ended up badly for her because her true nature had been discovered and she had to kill those people to avoid further carnage. 

•  Mary had killed. She doesn't like to have blood on her hands, but she did. However, there is a satisfaction she can't hide when it comes to killing people who were after her life. She could be very vicious when it comes to saving her own life.
