Batman v superman: SPOILERS Observation N°5: DOOMSDAY

AH! Doomsday! so many things to say about him. but I'm still exploring him so I'll just talk about the three main meanings we saw, my twin and I while discussing the movie.
Doomsday could refer to:
-The way people see Superman
-The way people FEEL about Superman
-The way Lex feels about Superman
*The way people see Superman:
An easy one. He's a monster! he's an alien. Doomsday is the harbinger of the apocalypse. he would bring the end of humanity. Who would be able to stop him if he goes Rogue? Remember, no justice league is in this movie. Even Batman is more of a Boogy-man than an actual person. SUperman has the power to level city and destroy humanity just like ZOD did! Zod is dead so they can't relate Superman to him anymore. They fear the day he would snap and Doomsday is what SUperman could be if he goes wild. He's not human (just the way some people feel about foreigners). he's to be feared and destroyed.
You see a glimpse of it in the dystopian future (now alternate future since Martha's safe and Lois too). Superman became a total dictator (Hello Injustice ♥) who rules by fear instead of Hope. Who doesn't hesitate to KILL anyone who stands his way? You have several interventions in the movie. When Superman goes to trial you have a lot of anti-superman signs (hello Westboro Baptist church and racist/anti-LGBT bigots), on tv, you have a lot of people questioning his very existence. (reminded me of Watchmen a lot: Who watches the Watchmen). So very human to want to have absolute control of everything and everyone. Superman can't really be put under control, you have to trust him and they didn't trust him at this point of the movie.
* The way people FEEL about Superman:
You can tie that one to the previous one. because of the way they see Superman, they feel a certain way about him. I decided to separate both of them because the first interpretation was about the people. Doomsday is a threat to them. This one is about Superman and the impact the hatred directed at him has on him. Because yes, he's being hated on by the world (and the viewers too). They are afraid of him, they want to hurt him or at least to maim him. They want to put an end to him and Doomsday manifests the will these people have to bring Superman down. Was he really Superman in this movie by the way? he BECAME superman at the end. we still had Kal-el until his death. We still had him struggling to be accepted by humanity.
Speaking of this: Kal-El's sacrifice was the most human moment I've seen in a while. He faced hatred and decided to end it. he faced his death in spite of him not wanting to die and having a future with Lois. He CHOSE LIFE and he CHOSE HUMANITY. He chose to give up on the most honest thing he ever had. The only thing he truly had for him: His life. His trust, his LOVE! Doomsday (hatred) was defeated by LOVE (Superman). It's extremely poetic and tragic and human and his death made me cry. ME!!! who hated on superman XD I cried like a baby. The music helped too.
*LEX:
Doomsday is his child, the manifestation of his feelings towards Superman. The manifestation of his burning anger and hatred towards God. Because in his mind, Superman is GOD. I'm not even inventing it, he said so in the movie.
Throughout the movie, we see how he sees people, men, women, and especially god. He kept talking about it for so long (I'll write it in more details when I'll come to Lex). and we understand very quickly that to him Superman is a god. BUT God is evil. God has to be destroyed. God has to die. Lex is The MAN. (the metaphor for it, but not completely. he has twists I'll explain when I talk about him). A man who was wronged by God. We know his father was abusive. We know his mother abandoned him (is she dead? is she not? we don't know. I'll talk about it later). We know he is mad at God for allowing both tragedies to happen to him. so he wants to bring him down. He wants to become superior. He wants to avenge himself and triumph. It's exactly how Nietzsche "God is dead" philosophical work talks about. how Men killed God and I believe Lex here, is actually doing it.
We're still talking about it, so I might see things differently but that's what came to our mind after seeing the movie émoticône smile
