Doya : The Thomas' case.

Doya : The Thomas' case.

A/N : So, eventually, this would be their new case <3

Oya was holding the phone but she wasn't listening to any word Sarah was saying. From the moment she heard that Joshua was at the hospital and in critical condition, she didn't hear anything else. It was one of her worst fears coming to life, to have a loved one at the brink of death because of monsters. Joshua was an experienced hunter and yet, he was probably drying because of a case he didn't prepare well. Sarah was hysterical on the phone, crying and cursing monsters for claiming her brother's life. Josh wasn't dead yet, why was she talking as if he was dead? Oya's gaze was aimlessly staring at the white wall in front of her when Dean found her. He heard the cries of Sarah over the phone and took it off of Oya's hands.

«Hello? »

«Hello? Where's Oya? »

« Unavailable. Who's speaking? » He asked, while his hand got lost into Oya's thick black curls.

« Sarah... Sarah Thomas. Is it Dean Winchester? » She calmed down and wiped some tears off of her face. Her twin girls were playing together while her husband was talking to the doctors. Dean picked up noises that were familiar in hospitals and furrowed his brows.

«Yeah.. Sarah Thomas, you're Oya's childhood friend. » He stated and felt her nod over the phone. « Okay, what's going on? »

« My brother.... my brother's last hunt nearly killed him. He's going through surgery as we speak and I need Oya to be...I needed Oya's help. »

A case? Was she offering Oya to come to investigate the case Joshua was investigating? It wouldn't surprise the seasoned hunter but he refused to let Oya go on her own. It was way too personal, hit way too close to home to have her be focused and efficient. Joshua was hurt, so badly that he might actually die and it would be the only thought she would have in mind.

« What happened? »

« I don't know. I haven't seen him yet, I don't know if he'll survive the surgery. Can you please hurry? »

« Where are you? »

« It's far from home, South Carolina. I assumed it was an easy-peasy vampire case, but he might have encountered something worse than a vampire. »

« Something worse? » Vampires were sons of bitches and Dean liked to play it like Buffy the vampire slayer. However, Joshua proved to be excellent at hunting vampire and had never been in such bad shape before. Maybe these weren't vampires and the only way for him to be sure was to investigate the case. Oya had wrapped her arms around his waist and started to sob against him, quietly so.

« Something worse yeah... he was mangled to the point, they identified him thanks to the ID card he had in his jeans pocket. Please, come over, find who did it and kill them. » She said before she hung up the phone.

Dean's focus shifted from the phone to Oya who was still sobbing against him. His hand was still rubbing the back of her neck while the other put the phone on the table and rubbed her back. He knew she would want to go and investigate the case. She would want to go to the hospital, see Joshua and avenge his death, should he die before they got there. Her body was shaking, so he crouched on the floor to be at her level and cupped both of her cheeks. She nodded and put her hands on his wrists. Dean didn't know what to tell her « Josh will make it. » that was a lie. « We'll avenge him. » It was an obvious decision to make. « We'll find out what happened. » but would they? « I'm with you. » that was something he could actually say to the ebony hunter. That was something he could do. He was there, and she could see it. So her lips twitched and she sobbed harder, unable to contain her tears. It broke his heart to see Oya like that, scared of losing someone she loved like a brother, just like he was whenever he was trying to rescue Sam. He had already lost his brother, to Lucifer and other monsters. He had to endure the sight of his brother's corpse, to hold it in his arms, to cry for him because he wanted him back. He had already been through this shit so he knew what Oya was going through. She grew up with the Thomas, at least for a couple of years and remained close to them through Joshua and Sarah's father. She rekindled her relationship with them when she returned to America and ever since she settled with the Winchesters, they had been in touch regularly. They were the closest to a family she ever had, so of course, she wouldn't want to lose any of them.

« We're going. » Dean simply said, allowing the woman to know that with those simple words, he had accepted the silent request Oya gave him. With these words, he showed he cared for her. Of course, they would go, he wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Oya nodded, tears still rolling down her cheeks and she offered a tight smile before he wiped out her tears and planted a kiss on her lips. She kissed him back and wrapped her arms around his shoulders as he pulled her into a hug. « We're going, Oya. » He reassured her, his large hands stroking her cheeks before he pulled her against her into a tight hug. She simply nodded but she knew he would be there with her and that was all that mattered at this moment. He was there with her.
