Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death Of Ishtar : reconciliation

A/N : Now that Elpis is on Earth, Ishtar and Ayasha decided to mend their broken relationship and come after her.

XXX

Mortal Realm, Sunday evening, A 4 stars hotel room.

It had been weeks since the Elder goddess and her beloved sin walked into the mortal realm. The euphoria that overwhelmed her the first weeks had vanished, as the goddess realized what had become of her cherished humanity. She had always loved humans, for they were able to experience change, something her kin wasn't able to, or very rarely-so. Human life was fragile, precious and because it was, they found a way to live their lives to the fullest. At the very best, humanity was capable of wonders. They became explorers, artists, inventors of all sorts, and birthed the most beautiful creations their kind could.

She enjoyed their sense of elegance and fashion that became less busy and bolder. However, She didn't understand them today. She looked everywhere for the genuine kindness men expressed more easily at the dawn of their evolution but it was nowhere to be found these days. She realized they were full of hatred, anger, lack of understanding, and confusion. They were vile and repugnant. Pride told her so, in a fair warning he gave her before they left the Underworld but she kept hope that perhaps, they would be different. Her disappointment, however, didn't take away the hope she still had for humanity to be better, to improve, and to uncover the hidden beauty inside of her. She was at crossroads, but it didn't bother her that much.

What did, was that they had to keep moving. Pride's magic was only working for a while before Ayasha and her fiends, located her. Having to flee wasn't really something she enjoyed but it allowed her to meet and influence humans, discover their culture, grow in power. Her eyes softly glowed as she was looking at her hands. Pride had been patient, but that particular night, he was through with humans, for the way they treated his « Light ». Humans were so petty, so small, and while they were facing the most beautiful creature of the whole universe, they attached feeble importance to her skin color. Ridiculous! She knew he was making efforts for her, and softened her features while she stared at him.

« All these efforts are paying. I am becoming stronger. » -She said as she tilted her head to the side.

«I am glad to hear this good news. I can't stand mortals, today I nearly ripped their heads off. » -She furrowed her brows and stood up, walking towards him.-

« Men need patience. The ones we met tonight were..... » She tilted her head and stroked his chest. « The ones we met tonight aren't worth your anger, my king. They merely helped me appreciate more the best of their kind. » She grabbed his vest and leaned her head against his chest. « We can't risk being discovered by my sister. »

« We won't. I can promise you that. » He said, dismissively before he wrapped his arm around her waist and pressed his lips to her forehead. «I felt your sister on Earth »

« She's looking for me. As long as I am with you, and as long as we don't stay too long here, it's going to be alright. »

Primeval gods pantheon :

Ishtar had just returned from Earth, his «mortal appearance » still on as he appeared in his throne room. He ran his hand through his short auburn hair and let out a thunderous roar. His time on the mortal realm was enough to scramble his brain and make him forget the giref he held against Ayasha. She was a deceiver, and she was using him. Leviathan knew, and deep down, Ishtar knew it too but he decided to bury his thoughts deep down his conscious because Ayasha made him who he was today. He was the New All-Father, he was the most powerful god to ever exist and he was ruling. She gave him a reason to keep going after he cursed Elpis and her « love » for him, whether true or false, was the only reason for him to keep going. Her ambition knew no limits and he knew she would end up consuming his very essence, but she had a plan and she knew what she was doing. She knew how to use him and she let him have a taste of a brilliant future. So why would he stay mad at her?

« Are you calmer now, brother-mine? »

Ayasha's voice echoed through the throne room. She was at the door, wearing her own meat suit and a tight blue long-sleeved dress. She had her arms crossed over her chest and was giving him an inquisitive look. Ayasha had been on Earth, just briefly in order to locate the last vessel of her sister. Out of desperation, a plan came to her mind. She found a way to force the goddess and the sin out of their retreat by threatening the very life of the only human the sin cared about. Ayasha knew of the connection between Pride and Asma and she knew the jealous and insecure nature of her sister. If she could crush two birds with one stone, then she would use it. Asma was oblivious of the supernatural, now that her mind had been wiped out by the Sin. She didn't remember the last few years spent with Pride or that she was the vessel of a cursed goddess. Therefore, she was approachable.

« I am now,» -He regained some composure and adjusted his tie-

« I see that you had the same idea as mine. Why were you on Earth? » She asked, walking into the throne room at a relaxed pace.

« Do you really care about my whereabouts sister? » -He sneered at her.-

« Are you in the mood for an argument? » -She said with an irritated tone.- « I didn't come for one. » -She informed the god who sighed and walked towards her.-
« Then, why are you here? » -She narrowed her gaze and stopped walking.-

« I am the one asking questions here. I demand an answer to the question I've already asked you. » -Her green orbs glowed brightly before she tilted her head to make a point.-

« Fine. I was on Earth because I needed to go where you weren't. I needed some time to think and get myself together. »

« Did it work? » -Her concern was genuine. She knew that the last time they both parted ways, Ishtar choked her because he was angry. She knew that Leviathan's words were very thick in his mind and it was best to leave him be if she wanted to have a chance to conquer his trust back. He did seem more relaxed, and she was counting on his retreat to work on her favour.-

« It did. » -She batted her lashes at a fast speed, as her breathing became more fluid and pinched her lips together to prevent herself from sighing from relief.-

« Good. » -She ran her hand through her straight locks.- « I have been onEarth too, brother-mine. Actually, I was looking for the vessel of our beloved sister and I found her. »

« You found Asma? » His face lit up and his eyes turned red. « Did you find Elpis too? »

« No... patience. We can't race to our demise, we have to plan. Fortunately for me, I have a very good plan. I will befriend this human, get closer to her, make sure that everyone notices her, so much so that when her life is in danger, wherever our sister and that filthy creature are hiding at, they will know. »

« How long is it going to take you, » He asked, perplexed that she had not killed the human yet.-

« a couple of what mortals call Months. Nothing more, I promise. I want to kill her when all eyes would be set on her, so Pride would express grief and preference for the human and I destroy the very connection between our sister and him. »

Ishtar eyes grew wide as he finally understood what the goddess wanted to do. She wanted Pride to get rid of their sister for them. After all, if he did kill Elpis, they wouldn't have to worry about him wanting to avenge her, or her trying to get him to their pantheon. Besides, Ayasha was still looking for a way to get rid of the sin, and it would be easier for them to, perhaps, entrap the sin and leave him to rot for all eternity while they both enjoyed a brighter future. Ayasha noticed her brother was shocked, but she quietly cupped his cheeks and gently pressed her lips to his, to seal the deal and reconcile with him. The kiss was soft, and her hands stroked his arms before she wrapped them around his shoulders. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her towards his strong frame. Her green eyes set upon his face and she pulled away from him.

« you've always known what to do, Ayasha. I give you that. »

« I can do more than that and you know it. » She teased him with, as he secured his arms around her frame and kept her against him. « To be very honest with you, Isthar, I thought I couldn't defeat Elpis and the sin. But I remembered her human vessel and I intend to exploit this weakness to its fullest. Victory shall be ours. » She claimed, while she pressed her lips to his in a soft kiss again.

« Victory would be ours, indeed. »
