GoT (Jaime x Baahal): Tangled

GoT (Jaime x Baahal): Tangled

A/N: My beloved <3

XXXX

The princess sat on her cabin's bed. After lunch, she decided it would be best to let Jaime take care of his duties. Her purple hues stared at the very simple room she was staying at. There was nothing personal there, but she took a liking at the gentle neutral colors surrounding her. She still remembered the words she screamed at him at Casterly Roc when love couldn't be contained anymore and she asserted her feelings for him. She remembered the sheer fear she felt when she peeled the layers of protection off of herself and presented herself in all her glory. It was a risk she took back then, a risk of having her heart broken a second time by the very man she fell in love with. Yet, it had to be said, it had to be acknowledged. She wanted him to see that it wasn't just a quick fling or puppy love. She saw him, for who he really was and didn't want anyone but him. She saw him, flaws and all, with the imperfections that made him perfect to her very eyes. Bâahal wanted him to know that she wasn't blinded with her emotions. She wasn't glorifying the knight or considered him to be a saint. How could she, when all she'd known until then was war, despair, and violence? How could she when she also had to soak her hands with the blood of innocent and guilty men? Her passion took over on that day. Her determination guided her feet towards him. Her love saved both of them.

For so long, she believed he was oblivious of her feelings, while in truth, he was well aware but didn't think he deserved to be loved. He rejected her at Winterfell for this exact reason. He felt he wasn't good enough for her, felt that nothing good could ever come from him. He was lost and confused: A lion without his lioness. Cersei took so much space in his life that since she died, he was feeling empty. Yet, from the very start, they had been drawn towards each other and he couldn't deny it. Bâahal could have been a great friend, a wonderful friend, at least she acted like one. She respected him, tried to help him, and forced him out of his comfort zone every time they spoke. He did the same, unbelievably he did, always pushing her to a brighter future, always encouraging her to live her best life and not think of her past. He was the first to acknowledge her as a princess, despite her past and her origin as a product of a heinous crime. He disregarded completely her origins and focused on the person she was. This trust truly helped her move forward and survive the long night. This trust fueled her inner-fire and revealed her true power as a Targaryen's heir. This trust brought her back to life and kept her going. Even more so than the one she had for Missandei, and a different one she had for Kyra Lannister. The feelings she bore for the Golden Lion were on another level and today, in this small cabin, she realized that she did lace her destiny to the Knight's. At least in her heart, that was the case. His love saved both of them.

The princess wasn't sure that the gods would allow their union. She wasn't certain that a Lion and a Dragon could be together for the history that tied their families were one of death, deceit, and suffering. She wanted to break the cycle, break the wheel of fortune, and show that it was absolutely possible for the two families to entwine their destinies and create something beautiful. Yet, she understood that the two of them would perhaps not be able to live the life they wanted. Jaime was lady Kyra's best knight, he was supposed to protect her and lead her armies. He couldn't roam Westeros with the princess, he would have to go back home. This meant, Bäahal would need to settle as well, and she wasn't really good with sitting around in a castle. What was there for her to do, if not leave and leave him behind? Would he trust her to survive on her own and fend for herself? Would she trust him to wait for her until she returned? She felt that together they would be able to do anything and she was right, together, they were able to do anything. She dreaded the conversation with Daenerys since the Queen would want her sister by her side.

Perhaps, once they caught the traitors, she wouldn't allow Bäahal to travel on her own ever again. Perhaps she would think that the safest place for her to be would be either at King's Landing or at Casterly Roc.. perhaps, she would keep her at the Red Keep, for she also needed some support and Jon, no matter how much she loved him, wasn't her sister. Bäahal knew she would have to take into consideration what the queen wanted, but hoped and wished for a good ending. She knew Dany hated the Lannisters and only didn't kill Kyra because she acknowledged she wasn't like the rest of the family and had proven herself to her several times. Perhaps this time, things would be different and she would have the chance to prove that Jaime was the right man. Jaime was the right man, either way. She chose him and she trusted her choice. She loved him, and she trusted her heart. Jaime was the love of her life, the one and only, the only man to ever make her heart skip several beats because of joy, excitement, arousal instead of fear and disgust. He was the only man and she wouldn't lose a chance to make the whole world see him for who he really was.
