Klasma: HOnour before all

"The nerve Elijah Mikaelson had to come to Mary and pretend nothing had changed between the two of them. He couldn't use his charm to force her to do his bidding. He couldn't pretend he cared when she knew the truth. Klaus had forced her eyes open so she could see the truth of everything. It was somehow, ironic, come to think of it. The Witch lost her family to Klaus' rampage and was rescued by Elijah. She felt indebted to him and decided to repay her debt by helping his family. Kol was the catalyst of her misfortune. Her coven learned the truth and punished her with a curse that granted her immortality but also ensured she wouldn't find a home anywhere she tried to.

The Mikaelsons became the reasons she lost everything, but strangely enough, they also became the reasons she became who she was. A powerful witch who used her life and powers to help others. A miserable life spent giving everything to others while suffering from the agonizing pain her curse gave her. A miserable life spent alone, thinking she fell in love with the Original while in truth, she was lonely and bored out of her mind. Loving the one trusted "friend" was the most natural thing to do. And for centuries he'd been in her life, turning her into his most prized asset and using her to help his family or past lovers. She was but a tool for him. She was nothing else, and Klaus helped her see it.

The nerve in Elijah Mikaelson to come to her and demand things go back to how they once were.  The nerve in Elijah Mikaelson to think he could run over her heart and tear it apart once again for his own benefit, all while blaming his brother for destroying the "link" he had with her. But she was grateful to Klaus, grateful because he set her free and gave her something no one could: companionship."
