“Wherever you go, I go and if you’re lost, I’ll find you, Dickhead.”

Personality:

Oya is a woman with rough edges. The job and the tragedies she endured were enough to harden the woman even though she wears her emotions on her sleeve. Oya has a very dominant personality but has proven to be flexible if the situation demands it. Oya is very observant and would rather believe the actions carried by an individual rather than their words. That made her unable to express her feelings fully with her words.

She also is very impatient, which makes it hard for her to keep a poker face. The job is her raison d'être so of course, she would take it very seriously. She sees it as a sport and does take pleasure in hunting monsters. She doesn't give up until it's done which means she would hunt your ass for months until she got to you before she moved on.

She does have a softer side, once you get to know her. She's kind, soft, considerate, and compassionate. She would do everything to make sure those she loves are safe and sound. Curiously, she's not cynical at all and actually likes people and enjoys protecting them.

Fictional Character Biography: (merged with real historical facts)

Cameroon, birth

The country had been independent for only 28 years. The new president, Paul Biya wasn't in charge of the country yet and France was visibly (somehow, openly) ruling Cameroon. Everything was a masquerade, but France had already freed the country. Yet that didn't come as a gift, there were trades, and among them secret trades. One of these secret trades, among the priority (if not exclusivity) in the Wood, oil, cotton, and fish markets was providing France with children who would become later monster baits for French hunters and experiments.

Awa Nzi Mulenge, Oya's mother was part of a secret and traditional family of hunters, the Sawa. She married the son of another famous family of hunters, the Nzi Mulenge. In Cameroon, hunters were well-respected families. Each village had at least two families of hunters who oversaw protecting the villagers. With Colonisation, they were forced to go underground and hide from the French colons to keep practicing and hunting. With the end of the Colonisation and the smooth transition to a democratic republic, hunters were able to return to their previous status. Each village and city now had some members of the biggest and most efficient families of hunters. Awa and Joseph were able to make a family for them. A girl, Oya, and a boy, Kalusha.

Normal childhood and Intense training in Africa/Russia/Central Europe.

Joseph taught his children the myths and the lore of their country to prepare them for the job. They managed to have a normal childhood since their training was basically just learning about the monsters they would hunt. Once they hit their teens, he sent them abroad to become familiar with other monsters and learn foreign techniques. Joseph had a very good friend, Henry Thomas who was an American hunter and who took Oya under his wing to teach her the ropes of the job. When she turned 18, she returned to Cameroon to become an official hunter in Cameroon. Henry died shortly after, and his golden gun became a part of the family treasure.

Family Tragedies

Oya's parents wanted her to marry a good hunter suitor so once she returned home, she met several of her childhood friends. It was difficult to find a suitor she liked mostly because they all wanted to stay home and give birth to a boy who would become a hunter. Female hunters who went on the field weren't rare nor disrespected, but they rarely married, which in Cameroon was frowned upon. Oya, at the beginning and due to her young age didn't really bother with it and reunited with a childhood friend, Fabrice who became her fiancé. Fabrice was really different from the others; he took her on the field and both hunted. He was very open-minded and calm and completed her very well.

She lived with him, so she didn't know what was happening at home. She didn't notice the changes in her brother and discovered that he was possessed the day he killed their mother in front of her. A few months before her wedding, Fabrice went on a hunt on his own and returned quite disturbed. It took a while for Oya to realize that her fiancé was possessed by a monster she couldn't exorcize and was forced to kill. This event traumatized the young woman who then fled back home only to find that her father had cancer and was dying. She remained with him at home for the last six months of his life and inherited his prized golden gun. That was when she decided to find her brother and kill him.

Meeting the Winchesters/ trip to America

During one of her missions, she realized that a few African monsters were living abroad and that her brother might be among them. So of course, she packed and went to the US in hopes of finding her brother and killing him herself. That was when she met with the Winchesters who rescued her from a vampire nest. Despite a rocky beginning, she got along well enough with them. They took her in, nursed her back, briefly told her about the recent events -Lucifer come back, Amaya, God's brief return, etc..- and offered to welcome her with them until she fully recovered and found her brother. In exchange, she would help them with their cases, which she agreed to. Dean helped her find and kill the Asanbosam.

Recent History:

After defeating the overpowered god Pluto. Oya proposed to Dean and the two got married. While on their honeymoon, the pair encountered a few ghosts to fight.

Trivia:

-She is a rabid fan of Comic books and a nerd in general. They also were the only reading books she was allowed to freely choose. She quotes them and often compares people she knows with comic book heroes.

-She calls Dean, Dickhead, it’s an endearing word.

- She loves corny shit; especially the Aprons she always buys for Dean.

-Oya loves taking pictures and selfies. She has this tradition of always taking one with Dean (or whoever she hunts with)

- She became self-conscious after the fight with the Asanbosam deeply scarred her arms, but thanks to the care of Team Free Will, she got comfortable with herself.

-She is a terrible cook. Never really has the time to cook anyway so junk food it is. She loves it when Dean cooks for her
