COPG: Life of Elpis " blossom"

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life of Elpis: Blossom

A/N: Just been thinking of our babies. I really miss them.

Xxxxxxx

One couldn’t simply wish for their weapon to appear. Elpis was eager to put her hands on the weapon designed by her beloved. The thought alone was enough to send a shiver down her spine and bring a faint smile to her face. She knew Pride would focus on making her weapon to the best of his abilities. It would be a unique artifact, one able to slice through the divine flesh of her siblings, and perhaps, through the skin of her mother. She was so excited by the fact she could finally have her own weapon and join her beloved in the war he would bring to the doors of her childhood home that she had trouble keeping herself entertained in the new place they settled in. She was sitting on a long chair at the beach, contemplating the fleeting existence of humanity as mortals were enjoying the salty water and hot sand.

Here she laid, an ivory bikini enhancing the natural glow of her black skin. Here she laid, with her long curly pink locks neatly braided in one giant braid styled in a high ponytail. Here she was, a pair of sunglasses on her nose and a straw hat on her head, pretending to be human. She was sunbathing, a book in her hand as she was trying to enjoy the weather and soak in the pure energy of the Earth. Elpis was feeding on the energy present in the mortal realm. Ever since her abilities had been unlocked, her connection to the world grew stronger over the weeks spent on the mortal plane. Along with it, came new powers and feats she never thought she would be capable of. The goddess sat on the long chair, straightening her back and allowing her pink curls to her chest and back. She looked at her book and put it on her lap.

A weapon could have corrected the wrongs she experienced in the past. Back then, she was so vulnerable to the whims of other gods. Goosebumps covered her divine flesh and she pulled her legs up and wrapped her arms around her knees. Back then…Leviathan tried to force himself on her. She remembered perfectly the day, the fear, the helplessness, and the shock at what her brother was trying to do. Ishtar came to her rescue on that day and severely beat up Leviathan. The God of the Oceans learned his lesson and never tried to do this again but it left a scar in her heart. She learned not to trust anyone, especially when they were her kin.  Another major incident would have to be the one with Ares. She had been rescued by Pride and had been with him for quite some time now. She remembered the sheer pain and terror she felt as Ares laid his hands on her, beat her in order to break her spirit. She remembered how defiant she was and how brave too but even bravery had its limits and couldn’t protect her forever from the god’s desire.

Both situations could have taken a turn to the worst, had she not been rescued by people who cared enough about her. But perhaps the worst of them all had to be when Ishtar stabbed her and cursed her with the Dagger of Fate. If she could have had her weapons that day. If she had trained in order to know how to use them correctly.. perhaps she would have protected herself better… perhaps she wouldn’t have been cursed.. the thoughts brought tears to her eyes and the goddess wiped them out with the back of her hands. No…she would never be made to feel this way again. She would never be made to be this weak again. There was tremendous power hidden inside her. A power she had only tapped into once, against the Sumerian gods. She would have a weapon worthy of her rank and power. She would finally be the equal of all those gods. The thought made her smile through her tears. There was Hope there. There was Hope.

She took solace in the fact that she wasn’t the same being anymore. Her curse forced her to mature and face the harsh reality of this world. Her curse gave her 2000 years to contemplate Life and analyze her life to the tiniest details. She realized that her whole life had been a lie most of it that are. She was better off these days, with her mind clear and her senses sharp and ablaze. She was better off these days, with her beloved by her sides. She was better off…yet, her heart sank as she faced the fact that she was planning the slaughter of the surviving siblings. Would things be different if Ayasha hadn’t been this ambitious and Ishtar this gullible? Would she still be living at Home? with an old version of Pride, she no longer loved? Those were questions that would never have an answer, but the reality of her life was that she was grateful, in a way, for this second chance because the Pride she found was a Pride she fell in love with. A mature relationship. A truthful one. It was different… better than what existed prior to this.

So, the feeling of being alone vanished altogether. Yes her blood relatives would be dead but it had been 2000 years since they stopped being relatives. It had been 2000 years since Elpis realized she was indeed, alone. They had to die! they had to pay for what they did and not only would they pay for it, but Elpis would also take on the title that should be hers: All-Mother. It was a sign if the world wanted to be one with her. Even Life itself was abandoning her mother and choosing the daughter. Even Life itself wanted Elpis to become its champion. Even Life itself worked its mysterious ways to allow for the goddess to survive her ordeals. She deserved the title. She deserved the power. She deserved to go and rule by the sides of her beloved Superbia. She deserved to live. A smile crept on her lips and grew larger as she now noticed the presence of the Sin. Pride was standing a few steps away from her., so she waved her hand in a come-hither motion.

« Now that we are here perhaps we could take a moment to have fun together. »

« I’m all ears. » -He simply replied, untying his necktie as he came closer-

-TBC-
