GoT: Iron Princess

 GoT Iron princess :

A/N: I love them so much.

Xxxxx

Bäahal was at her window, staring at the sky and the distant shore from it, a glass of wine in her hand. She wasn’t a heavy drinker but would occasionally drink a glass or two to calm her nerves. Things weren’t that bad, considering that she was still able to write letters to Lady Kyra -using the secret pipeline lord Tyrion was using- and spend some more time with her relatives. Lord Tyrion gave her very valuable advice when he told her to not hide from her family but instead spend some time with them, rekindle their connection and soothe both her heart and theirs. It worked miraculously since she was sharing meals with them every day and had noticed a shift in the tone of their conversations. Daenerys seemed more relaxed around her and allowed herself to show more than just proper anger. Doubts left the princess’ mind once she noticed that the Silver Queen still cared for her, regardless of who she was in love with. Not too long ago, news of the potential upcoming death reached the ears of her sister and if it had not been for Lord Tyrion, Jon, Varys, and her closest companions, Daenerys would have fled to the siege and burn everyone to a crisp. So, deep under the anger, there was a relief and the fear to subject her to more harm. Bäahal understood.

She couldn’t blame her sister for wanting to preserve one of the last two relatives she had left. She couldn’t possibly blame her for wanting to protect Bäahal from heartbreak or even worse. Loving Jaime was akin to putting a target on her back and given that she almost escaped death once, there was a chance that she might not be so lucky if she pursued this relationship. Jaime was probably the most feared and the most hated man of all Westeros. There were thousands of people who would want to have a piece of him to get revenge on what Cersei made them experience. It wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine how many would take the opportunity to hurt him by hurting her. The princess took a sip of wine and yanked her head back. As a matter of fact, what she had to arm herself with would be patience. Everyone advised her to be patient and give her sister the time to heal from the sheer shock panic and anger she was feeling upon her return. Bäahal could wait, most of her life had been spent waiting for the perfect opportunity to escape. What could be worse? She believed that she was actually having it easy, all things considered.

She had the luxury to fall in love. She had the luxury to have found someone who genuinely loved her and was willing to give anything he could to ensure her safety. She heard rumors, bits, and pieces of information coming from Lord Tyrion or even Jon. Jaime agreed with Jon in not taking her to the battlefield this time. With the news of her death spreading around the country, it would be a serious tactical advantage not to debunk those rumors. The culprits would feel comfortable and the glee in their faces would become far easier to notice. They wouldn’t see the truth coming and wouldn’t think Jon and Jaime were on their trail. She had to remain hidden in the castle, protect herself just so only the most trustful souls would be aware of her existence and survival. Another life locked in a gilded cage, but at least this time she was given time to prepare and accommodate herself to the situation. She could do it, deep down, Bäahal was certain that she could endure staying at the Red Keep. She would be close to her sister, would be able to see the dragons and heal properly. She could regain her weight, look decent perhaps even beautiful again. What made this situation difficult, however, was the fact that she could potentially lose Jaime.

He could die, yes, but so could Jon too. Part of what made the conversation she had with Jon so difficult was that she didn’t want to lose Jaime. The thought itself made her skin crawl. Could Fate be so cruel and separate the two of them forever?  she took another sip of wine and sighed deeply. Well… if that ever happened she would be grateful because she would have had something just for herself. She would have fallen in love and been loved in return. Come to think of it, she truly fulfilled her mother’s last wish. She found a family of her own, was no longer a slave, was treated well by people who cared for her and on top of it, all was able to fall in love and find joy in such a jaded world. Her mother’s wishes came true. Bäahal was happy, and she felt incredibly lucky to have found people she could call family and who would sacrifice everything they had to find her. She found Love, wasn’t it the greatest treasure? She would be strong, for her sake and Jaime’s. she would be strong and believe he would come back to her. She refused to believe that they both endured so much only to have their lives cut short. She refused to know that Jaime went to Hell and came back from it, only to suffer some more. They were due a happy ending even though they would suffer tremendously in order to get it. Just as the Iron Princess's thoughts led her to this conclusion, the door opened and as she turned her head she saw the knight who came for a short-lived visit. The sight of his face brought a smile to her lips and she turned around completely.

« Jaime you’re here… »

And here, he was, indeed.
