GoT: (regular): I'll remember you

A/N: I love them, was just thinking of a sentence they used to say to each other before the two wars they took part in.

"I'll remember you." -Bäahal remembered how green his eyes were really green the first time Jaime told her this sentence.-

She couldn't remember well anything else but the shiny color of his eyes as he told her that he would remember her should she die before him... She had been green by then: freshly rescued by Daenerys and acknowledged as her sister. She had not known War or the utter despair fighting supernatural creatures could bring. She was so overwhelmed with her freedom that the princess was willing to die a noble death, thinking that it would perhaps give a purpose to her life. It was Jaime who saved her life that night, by giving her a reason to stay alive. They promised each other that they would remember the other, should one of them died first, and words stayed stuck in her mind. It carried her through the Long Night and she realized that the desire to see him again  she held onto the promise to see him and to talk to him.

When Bäahal said those words again, it was right before Jaime left Winterfell for the Red Keep. She was certain this was the last time they would see each other. The Last War would sign the death of either or both of them. This time it as she uttered the words, the silver princess could feel a pang in her heart and tears on her cheeks. it was a desperate cry in the dark, a way for her to tell to the Lannister that she wanted to see him again and that she didn't want to lose him he had to live. he had to survive because she wanted to see him again. Sometimes Bäahal liked to think that she was already infatuated with the blonde man and this sentence became a confession.

Why was she remembering this moment again? It occurred to the young woman that perhaps it had to do with the fact Jaime would soon leave with Jon and the rest of their men. Jon had decided that she couldn't leave the castle because their enemies had to believe that she was dead. She understood his reasoning behind the decision and acknowledged that it was the best decision to make, yet... yet, she was mortified. What if it was the last time that they see each other? what if Jaime died? the thought of it made her knit her brows and shake her head. she couldn't possibly subject herself to dreading his demise once again.

It was enough heartache, back when he was hiding at Highgarden and she had no idea if he was alive or dead. She remembered crying every day as she was convinced he had not survived the death of his twin. How could he when she was the love of his life and they had lost all of their children? how could he, when House Lannister went up in flames and he wasn't ready to imagine it be reborn through the hard work of his little sister? How could he, when at this time, he wasn't really aware of the feelings the Dragon Princess felt towards him. Jaime was a broken man already, but Cersei's death pushed him over the edge. How could he bring himself to live again? how could he love again, when his whole world crumbled?

The pain she felt throughout those months spent looking for his resting place, yet hoping to see him again and rescue him had torn her heart apart. it was unbearable, so excruciating that the silver head wished to never endure this again. she wished she would never lose him again and prayed the gods, old and new to fulfill her only true desire: to live happily with the man she fell in love with. But the gods were the ones who decided the fate of those below. There was no certainty of his return and perhaps that was why she remembered this sentence.

"I'll remember you." -Bäahal whispered, gently stroking a flower of the castle's garden.- "I will always remember you, Jaime. I promise you that." -She stopped for a minute and then lowered her head, as if to speak to herself.- "I will pray the gods, Old and New, about your safe return because despite me promising to never forget you, all I really want is for you to come back to me."

So saying this sentence was in fact a way to ask for his safe return. they both knew they meant it that way and somehow, Bäahal was certain that Jaime had meant it when they parted ways before the Last War. He had heard about her endeavors as her sister's ambassador, smiled upon learning that she had survived, wished that she wasn't dead upon eavesdropping on the Highgarden maids. Jaime had always wanted Bäahal to survive, from the moment they first met. he had given her pieces of advice so she could navigate the troubled waters of politics and nobility. He had protected her from the start, because he wanted to see her again and his prayers were heard. So would hers.

So would hers.....
