Pride and Elpis: waiting

Elpis had been growing stronger and stronger since Pride found her. There was no rational explanation as to why it happened, but she was not going to complain about it. Because she was stronger, she was able to communicate with her vessel through dreams and let her know how she felt more often than not. Asma accepted this, thinking that after all this time, the goddess deserved to have someone to talk to while waiting for the sin to set her free.
It simply didn't go as the human thought it would. Elpis was full of anger. She hated her crowned siblings for what they did to her. After all, they did betray Elpis by stabbing her with the Dagger of Fate. They tried to kill her or at least to keep her away from her beloved the rest of her family. If her feelings for Pride weren't strong, she would have been forced to remain in a cycle of reincarnation, forgotten by her siblings.
Because Elpis was pissed off and jealous, she showed a side of her that Asma couldn't handle. She was violent and bloodthirsty. The urge to kill Ayasha and Ishtar became overwhelming and it only was a matter of time before it consumed her host.
Asma was informed by Pride that he had bought himself some time with his siblings and was ready to deal with Elpis'. Leviathan challenged him and was waiting for him to respond to the challenge, which he intended to do. It only was a matter of time now.. of days or maybe hours.
It only was a matter of time before Asma's memory of Pride vanished into thin air and she realized that she wasn't ready.
How could one be ready anyway?
