Doya: What a wonderful world

 Doya: What a wonderful world.

A/N: Just a little moment between the two of them while they are working cases.

Oya crossed her arms above her chest. she leaned against the front door of Baby. Her hazel eyes were staring at the gas station, where Dean was grocery shopping.  she couldn't help but smile to herself. it was quite a lovely day, a nice ride with Baby and Dean. A nice little trip to their next case. the weather was really nice, a sunny day with a fresh wind that blew Oya's afro hair. She had sunglasses on, to complete the biker look she went for. A nice leather jacket, a tight white cotton top, a pair of black jeans and leather boots. She tilted her head to the side, to have a better view of Dean who was walking around, looking for crisps, beer, sandwiches, and any medication they might need down the road to help with their injuries. Life was good!

It took some time, but Oya finally managed to get over the fact she nearly died at the hands of Pluto. It could have been him or any other of the usual monsters they hunted, things happened. She knew it! she signed for it. Her life could end at any moment for their job was a dangerous one. It was really a matter of dumb luck.. nothing more. There were very seasoned and old hunters out there who have been in the business for decades and would probably die of old age. There were youngsters, who couldn't survive the first day on the job and some others, like Dean, who cheated Death. Oya survived her encounter with the god of Death, and she finally let go of her anguish. Castiel saved her, Dean took care of her, and she didn't lose her edge. she was still efficient, still lethal, still the best in the field. Pluto didn't eat away at her confidence (at least, not anymore), but he fueled her rage and desire to take him down.

She sighed deeply and yanked her head back, so it would lay against the top of the car. the sky was very blue, without clouds. It was so clear that it felt like a painting.  She lifted her arm and outstretched her hand as if to try and reach the sky and ended up dropping her arm. Come to think of it, she had a good life already. despite the numerous trials and errors, despite the frustration and loss, despite tragedy, she managed to build herself back up. She managed to live. She lost a family, avenged them, found a new family with Team Free Will, and finally was able to forgive herself for her loss. it wasn't her fault if they died. it wasn't her fault if time was erasing the faces and the voices of her loved ones. it wasn't her fault if she found a way to appreciate life again.

She made her peace with her past. She accepted her loss. she embraced her love for Dean and her desire to build something with him. Something that was theirs. Something they couldn't find anywhere else. She embraced everything and was grateful she chose to. The hunter's life was a very lonely life. It was a life she was used to and had embraced a long time ago. It was a life that she believed would be the only life she would ever know. Traveling the world, hunting monsters, saving people. She spent countless nights at crappy motels, sleeping with strangers to keep her warm and feel less shitty. She avoided seeing the only childhood friends she had left for years and had little to zero company. those days were now over and she had a home. She found the strength to reconnect with the Thomases, found a place to nest at, and even better, found a new home in Dean. She felt reborn. She was reborn.

Dean finally left the gas station market and lifted the heavy bag with all their necessities. She smiled at him and motioned with her fingers for him to come closer. He closed the distance between them and wrapped his free arm around her waist, pulling her against his strong frame. She pursed her lips into a grin and put both hands on his chest.  Dean bent forward to kiss her forehead and let his hand run over the small of her back. Oya gently rubbed his shoulder and pulled away so she could have a look at his face.

"I've never seen you this quiet, and smiling this much. What were you thinking about?"

"Oh.. nothing, just that this is a wonderful world. It is wonderful because you are in it."

She said with a soft grin. Dean's eyes lit up and he couldn't help but grin back at her. Oya was cute right now, she really was cute and that made him chuckle. She was happy, he could tell and that was enough to make him happy too. She was right after all. It was a wonderful world. And it was wonderful because she was in it.
