Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life of Elpis: Rebirth

She could feel it, the change in the air, the power rushing in her veins. She could feel that something was changing inside her. She felt confident. It was a feeling, the goddess didn’t use to feel when she was still living in her pantheon. Her siblings made sure that she would always rely on their help or wisdom to figure things out. When she insisted on going to the battlefield and help Ishtar, it was first met with doubt. Could she handle the sight of violence after having spent most of her existence sheltered? could she correctly help her brother and assist him in becoming more powerful? So many questions filled her head and it took Ishtar’s support and sponsorship for others to let her go and leave her sheltered life. She was free, to some extent and before she met the Sins, the primeval gods had no reason to suffocate the goddess and lock her home. That was their mistake!

Her encounter with Pride set off a chain of events of unprecedented magnitude. The ripples of such a moment still had an impact to this day, 2000 years after her curse.  She took time to think and mature over the millennia and understand what a farce her life had been. She realized that she possessed a power that couldn’t even be imagined by her siblings and that the fear her family felt, forced them to control her life. Pride set her free when they met each other, without even working too hard on her. Their energies attracted one another, their ambition fueled each other and it became clear that she couldn’t stay locked in the confines of her mental prison. He set her free. Elpis was Hope incarnate. She was Light and Life by extension. She had a good heart and would always see to protect the lives of those who do not deserve to die. However, she was unforgiving and revengeful. She wanted her revenge and was going to get it. Her destructive desires kept her alive and she set herself free because she was determined to fulfill her promise to Pride: To always find him, no matter when or where.

She looked at the stallion that came to her, curious to see the creature standing a few feet away from him. Since she was in perfect osmosis with the planet and life that existed on it, the stallion wasn’t afraid of her. Instead, it came closer, blowing hair by its nostrils before it stopped moving. He tilted its head to the side and looked at the goddess who stood tall. The animal walked around her, studied her reactions, and finally stopped in front of her again. Elpis smiled at the beast and outstretched her arm in order to pet it. The horse didn’t back down nor was he afraid of her. Instead, she inspired his trust and comfort. He knew he was in good hands because she was telling him so with her aura. Her anger and frustration were gone now that she had her weapon. Pride made sure she wouldn’t come unprepared for the most important battle for her. She didn’t feel powerless as she was prior to and during her curse. No ! this time, she was powerful, lethal, and prepared. The horse stood on its bottom legs before he bowed in front of the one it recognized as its queen and its maker. She smiled and walked closer so she could pet it gently. She was the unofficial All-mother. Nature around her recognized her as the one and true  All-Mother, an advantage she would not pass up. With Gaea weakened and probably feeling it by now, there was even more change of Elpis putting the crown on her head and ruling the universe, next to her beloved Emperor.
