soa: Jess x Asma: friendversary

Asma was sitting on the bedroom's chair, her eyes focused on her cellphone so she could talk with Tig. Jessica had to postpone their shooting lessons for a while due to the business with the Mexicans but since Asma returned from Boston, she insisted on at least having a girls "day out". So she asked her to come over and wait until she got dressed before they went out. The pink haired lady was more than happy to wait a little bit if that meant she could spend time with her sister. It had been a while, after all, since they last saw each other.

As Jessica got out of her bed, Asma glanced at her for a brief minute. Nudity never was an issue for the woman, for she didn't see it as sexual when there was no intent behind it. Nudity was just the highest form of trust. It wasn't just because of lockers room after PE classes, it wasn't just because of cousins changing before her when they were teenagers prior to a night at a club or at the cinema. It just was because to be naked in front of someone is to accept one's vulnerability. Jessica didn't hide in front of Asma and neither did Asma when she was getting dressed either. not that it happened frequently and not that they were staring at one another until they were fully clothed. no, not at all. but that look Asma gave her didn't take into account the fact Jessica was "naked". she wasn't looking at her body, she was looking at the person.. and it made her smile.

In such a genuine moment that lasted only a couple of seconds, Asma was hit by the truth, a truth she had already known for quite some time now. She was home. She was safe and she was she looking at someone she loved beyond anything she thought she could. Jessica was the cement that linked her guys (the Knights) and Jax' guys (Samcro). She was the cement that kept the whole thing steady and strong. She was the anchor Jax needed in his life, to keep him whole and straight. To keep him honest, to give him a motivation to wake up every morning and come back alive to his family. She saved him by bringing everyone together. Abel and Thomas and Jax. They experienced a true and genuine and honest family life and it saved him. Jax saved her too. She was wandering from town to town, running away from herself, hiding behind her bruised knuckles, the trail of corpses she left behind her and the tears she never cried. He saved her because she allowed herself to be vulnerable again, she allowed herself to take a leap of faith in life, in love, in everything. She allowed herself to settled down and have a family of her own and be her true self. A tornado.

And because they both saved each other, Jessica saved Asma too. it was their love that knocked at Asma's door and had them meet each other. It was their love, that had her meet Lyla and take the opportunity to meet Jessica again and start a friendship that turned into something more, something beautiful. Asma leaned her cheek against her warm palm and looked at the brunette who was pulling her pants up her legs and buttoning them. The thought was a fleeting one, that of what her life would have been had she not met Jessica. A future of gloom and doom awaited her, one where she would definitely end up dead. A future of solitude and tears, where she would only be in pain. Jessica might not have had the solution to Asma's problems, she did offer her something better, something more important, unadulterated love.

"I'm almost done Asma. Just wait, I put a shirt on and we're good!"

"I can wait."

She tapped her fingers against her thigh, contemplating what her life was these days. she had turned it upside down and for the better. She still couldn't be near alcohol, still had to make sure she wouldn't be tempted because AA meetings were still happening. Her mother was sicker and she might actually lose her last parent but she knew she would be alright..because she wasn't alone. She was home. She was home.

"Jess?" She called out while the brunette was tying her hair into a messy bun.

"Yeah?" Jessica turned her head to look at Asma who was smiling at her.

"I love you so much. We should have friendversaries. because if I can eat cake for each month I am sober, I think I can eat cake for each year we are together." She grinned and stood up as Jessica was done being dressed. "What do you think?"

"I like that idea." She pressed her lips against Asma's cheek. "I like it a lot. so why don't we go somewhere and have some cake?"

"I agree with you. Let's go eat cake." And once Jess grabbed her purse, they left the house.
