Chronicles of lux and Tenebrae: Entwined destinies.

Lux didn't believe in destiny. She didn't want to consider that her life was manipulated by invisible forces and that her choices were not. She chose Tenebrae. It was her decision and not some other god's will. The love she had for the shadow prince was real, she believed it and wouldn't believe otherwise. A long time ago, prior to her death, she told him that no matter the universe she would always love him. She told him that she knew their souls were connected and nothing, not even death would take it away. Well...it happened. She died.

Because she wasn't one of the Eternals, she could die. It never occurred to her that she could meet her fate someday given how powerful she was and how powerful Tenebrae was. Of course, he would never let her die, none of them could. They promised each other to always look after one another. They promised and yet they failed because she died. Her mother brought her back to life, she used most of her lifeforce to bring her daughter back and in the process, blocked access to her memories. So here it was, the true trial. She started fresh, anew, without substantial memories of her life prior to her resurrection.

Here they were again, together yet apart from one another. Tenebrae's love was still there, stronger even now that he realized he had lost the love of his life once. How did she feel about him? She couldn't tell. She felt some familiarity with him. She felt some connection, but the dread above their heads was a hindrance to her introspection. Lux discovered the prince once again, over the months spent together while searching for the truth and a way to defeat their enemies. She was receptive to his attention and his affection. She realized that his love was consuming, strong, and endless and it drew her towards him.

She was attracted, like a moth to a flame. She was attracted but love didn't run through her veins until he revealed his true self to her. Tenebrae's vulnerability reached out to her core, and as he laid out his heart in front of her, requesting nothing but her compassion, she fell in love with him. It didn't matter if she couldn't remember him or their connection. It didn't matter if she had to learn how to be a warrior again if that meant she could be with him. Fate might have something to do with it, as they learned. Maybe they were destined to be together, but deep down, the princess wanted to believe she was in control. Her life was hers and so was her love.
