GoT modern

The silver head went to the large window of the living room. It was heavily raining outside and the dark clouds were covering the sky with their gloomy presence. Drogon and Rhaegar were playing together, happily barking at one another and running around the youngest heiress of the family. She was wearing a large sweater, an exaggerated man-sized grey wool sweater.  Her violet amethysts were staring at the window, at the garden before her drenched with the rain and she crsoeed her arms above her chest. She sighed deeply and rubbed her arms together. she tilted her head to the side, allowing her massive silver mane to fall onto her back and shoulder and sighed heavily.

Her eyes were wet from the unshed tears and puffy and red already and that had her sigh and relax her shoulders, ignoring the dogs that were still playing around her and pushing her legs. They had became a little more energetic since their brother's death, always making sure the other was around, and always making sure they could play together. Maybe it was their way to deal with grief? with joy and fun. The idea seemed lovely and Bäahal decided to keep make it real. Maybe that was what her family could have done when they lost Rhaegar, come together through joy and laughter. His death unfortunately tore this family apart, with everyone pointing fingers at everyone.

Aerys was stricken with grief, upon losing his older son. He had placed so much hope on Rhaegar and wished for him to become the true successor of his empire. Rhaegar was a beloved son, a famous bachelor and a genuinely good soul. He accepted Bäahal, comforted her, taught her some dance moves and athletic figures. He had listened to her cry on his shoulders for several nights. he had patched her wounds, kept her safe at school from people who picked on her. She never felt alone when he was alive and since his death there was nothing but a hole in her heart. Viserys became even more withdrawn and violent. Resented by his father for his violence, feared by his sisters for his angry outbursts, smothered by his mother...He spiraled when Rhaegar died and refused to join his siblings in their grief.

Daenerys closed off. Her father made her the successor of the empire and burdened her shoulders. Her mother poisoned her ears with her venom and she was left in between all of this, fearful of her surviving brother, wanting to bond with her little sister but stuck in a place she had not asked for. slowly but surely they picked her apart and forced her to become just like them. the best of the best, the worst of the worst with little to no room to explore herself unless  when she was with Khal Drogo.

None of them played with the other, they never got close to one another, never even shared a tender moment together. None of them cried for him together, instead they all withdrew in their quarters and let the walls of their rooms witness their tears. None of them took the time to mend the other hearts and filled them with love. it just disappeared.  it disappeared.  Bäahal swore on her father's grave that she would do anything in her power to bring this family together but wasn't sure of how to proceed. how to make it happen.  she owed it to them to fix things and make them realize how much they needed one another.  Both her siblings rejected her but she knew that deep down, both of them were just hurt.

Yet, all she could think of, on rainy day like this one was the new friends she had made. It was Kyra and her kindness towards her that moved her and made her reconsider her ability to make friends and be worthy of it. She reminded her smile and the laughter they shared while talking at the gala. It was Jaime and the warmth of his arms around her frame, the heartbeats that calmed her at night. He knew how to love her body, how to care for her soul and he fed her starving heart with feelings she never knew she could feel again.  He made her forget about Elias, the one who got away. He made her forget about the pain of being left behind. he gave her hope and now that she was staring at the violent storm outside, all she wanted to do was to run into his arms. lay next to him and enjoy some hot coco while reading a book.

Yes, it was true, she had fallen in love with him but decided to wait a little more just to be sure of her feelings.  The realization simply made her smile and she put her hand on the mirror, smiling at how surprising Life could be.
