Modern!Got: Rhaegar the golden boy

Rhaegar Targaryen, probably the most sought after bachelor of all of Westeros. He was a true kind-hearted man. Honest, genuine, generous. He made all those Windsors heirs pale in comparison to his charisma. He made every bachelors and bachelorette want to marry him. He was his parents' pride. Firstborn of Aerys and Rhaella, he was supposed to take over his father's business and represent the family around the world. He was supposed to be their shooting star. Unlike the others, he wasn't into the long-life family feud with the Lannisters. He just wanted a good life and to be good to others. he wanted to be the best businessman around, taking after his father but without the need to be a shark either.  He was different.

A caring child, a loving sibling, he took care of his three siblings. Viserys was his doting brother -although plagued with anger issues-, Daenerys was his favorite sister and he always protected and played with her whenever he could. Bäahal on the other hand... he knew her late when she was already 16 years old. One day his father came home with a teenager and explained that she was the product of a love affair with another woman. Rhaegar's world crumbled on that day. It took some time before he could eventually forgive what his father did, understand that his father fell out of love with their mother and found true love elsewhere. He had to wrap his head around the existence of this terrified lonely kid who tried her best to please everyone and remained always pleasant and loving. But he grew to love her.

One day, after Rhaella had been peculiarly cruel to her, Rhaegar found Bäahal and gently wrapped his arms around her frame, comforting the teen with his strong arms. he disapproved of his mother's actions and told her to soften her approach with his sister. which she did -but only to some extent-. he promised Bäahal that she would never be alone and could always count on him if she ever needed anything and he kept his promise. he kept it as long as he could, as long as he lived. Because, unfortunately, he didn't survive long enough to see the change in his family. He died like he lived, so suddenly.

Bäahal would forever remember the day they learned he died. He eloped with a woman from another family than his -the tradition would want him to marry his distant Targaryen cousin but he fell in love with Lyanna Stark instead and eloped with her- a car accident, lethal, horrible that left little to nothing to mourn for except charred bodies. A car accident that terminated the life of the only person aside from her father who loved her truly. Bäahal couldn't believe her ears. she couldn't accept he was gone and on that terrible day, filled with the screams of her whole family, Bäahal was stunned and silent. she ran to the forest on their domain to cry on the very spot he found her years ago. She held her arms and crouched on the floor as he wasn't there to hold her anymore. He was gone, forever...and along with his death also went her hope for a better life. who would love her, if not her father who was barely home? who would talk to her in this cold house? who would consider her as part of the family? she felt like a sheep in a wolf's den but more than ever.. she mourned for the only brother she ever had. The kind and loving Rhaegar.
