COPG: Life of Elpis: Contemplating

Elpis was taking the sun on a long chair near the swimming pool of their hotel. She was wearing a pair of sunglasses to keep curious humans from discovering her divine nature. Her legs were crossed and her hands rested on her knees. There was plenty to think about but today her mind focused on the only thing that mattered: Her Scythe. It took Pride a lot of energy and a bargain with the Goddess Hecate to help him build a weapon powerful enough to contain some of his essence while being capable of slaughtering gods. When he gifted her the new weapon, the primeval goddess was way too excited about the weapon itself and the fact it was a gift from him to fully realize what it entailed, what it meant.., and what it symbolized. Pride gave her a weapon, something that not even her own pantheon managed to do.

She was aware, by now, of the fact her family was scared of her. It benefited them that Elpis remained ignorant about her potential because she could have proven to be uncontrollable if she knew how powerful she really was. A lovechild of creation and destruction: true Balance and alongside it, ultimate power. They knew that they wouldn't be able to restrain her. They wouldn't be able to defeat her so they made sure that she was not aware of her true potential. It happened, despite their efforts when the goddess destroyed the Sumerian Pantheon. She let her anger consume her and easily managed to fight them. If she was to be left to her own device, there was a good chance that they would not be able to take her down. So they kept her under control. They messed up with her memories and they kept her in chains but it didn't work in the long term. After all, she set herself free didn't she? She explored her powers, discovered her connection to nature, trained in order to overcome the  All-Mother. She knew her true potential and she was eager to test her new limits.
