Elpis and Pride : reckoning

Reckoning:

Freedom was only a matter of hours now, nothing compared to the 2000 years spent locked inside human hosts and bound to their lifeforce. it was merely a blink of an eye for the primeval goddess who felt the winds of freedom finally blow towards her.

Her mind was filled with unfiltered images and daydreams about killing her siblings. How many times had she thought of Ishtar's death? How many times did she imagine his painful cries and moans as she would use his own sword against him? How many times did she imagine Ayasha shake in fear, beg for mercy at her feet? she would make her beg. She would make her scream. She would make her bleed. The thought of spilling Ayasha's blood filled the goddess with unfiltered joy. It excited her, made the eyes of her host glow brightly as she knew it would soon be granted to her. The desire to quench her thirst for revenge became more intense as she was close to her release and she knew that once she would finally return to this plane of existence, she would taste freedom.

She would taste revenge, she would taste their blood. She would relish in the sweet music of their screams, she would relish in the sight of their agony. They would pay for what they did to her, to him.

Pride had lost more than she did because she still had her memories of him and the strength she could get from them. He didn't remember anything. He had lost the memory of the goddess and was disconnected from her when she scratched the seal and breached the curse. Vivid images of the past invaded his mind but he couldn't connect to them, he couldn't connect to her. Elpis knew, deep down she was aware of their loss. She didn't know the extent of what exactly was lost but she knew it would impact on them. They had their future stolen, both from the gods and Hades. They had their present robbed from them but there was one thing that could never be defeated.

Love.
Her love for him.
It was the story of a goddess who loved a sin so much that she was ready to burn the world.
