Bäahal x Jaime: a historical hiccup

“Keep your thoughts guarded. Not that I don’t enjoy these conversations, but you need to learn how to keep your mouth closed.”

That was a sound advice Lord Jaime gave the princess. Their last 'friendly' conversation ended up, once again, to be a lesson. Bäahal realized that he was now aware of the pain she carried with her since Viserion died. It was an easy way to hurt the princess during battle, just the simple mention of Viserion would be enough to take her focus off of the battlefield and have her surrender to anger. She would then be sloppy in her attacks, and lose so much focus that victory would be ensured. But where was the honour in that? Being defeated because grief and pain flared up wasn't an honourable way to die. Bäahal acknowledged that she couldn't possibly let him get into her head because of her dragon's death. That was easy.

What wasn't easy was to admit she confessed her attraction to him. It couldn't be! Bäahal had never been attracted to anyone and she didn't want to start. Yes, Jaime was handsome, legends and songs travelled all the way to Essos. Yes, she witnessed it with her own two purple eyes, but that didn't mean she had to acknowledge it and it didn't mean anything if not confusion. She buried her thoughts in her mind, ignoring the very words she had just said and proceeded t²o push the thoughts at the corner of her head.

War would change everything, she was certain of this. There was no time for distractions when the life of her sister was at stake and her future as the queen of the seven kingdoms, were the goals. Nothing could come in between Daenerys and the throne, therefore the silver princess decided to push aside those thoughts. He was the enemy of the crown, a devoted ally to Cersei. Whether they win or not this war, he would still be devoted to the mad queen, so why should she care about him the way she did?

Lord Varys told her to be careful of the emotions she would be experiencing. As someone who freed himself, he knew a lot about unchecked emotions and caught the princess look at Jaime when she believed he wasn't looking back. she was young, experimenting and discovering life so of course, she would get confused. It probably was nothing, Bäahal convinced herself with. nothing deep, nothing meaningful, just a curious mind waking up to the world around her. After the war against Cersei, eventually, she would realize it all was nothing but a historical hiccup
