Doya : Their Warmth

Doya : Their Warmth

A/N : Just because  <3

Oya sighed as she was now staring at her reflection in the mirror. The deep scars left by the Asambosam claws were a constant reminder of her foolishness. The pain had her act reckless on that day and now that years went by and Oya could take a different look at it, she realized she was just going on a kamikaze mission, seeking death at the end of it just so she wouldn't have to deal with her miserable life any longer. Dean was there on that day and saved her life and now, three years later, she was grateful that he did. Oya still had issues with those scars, she couldn't look at them like she did the rest of her body and managed to always cover them with long sleeves or jackets.

Yet this morning, as she was looking at her reflection, Oya had to acknowledge that those scars were nothing compared to what followed. Dean and Oya had been through Hell together and had to face either on their side or together, threats and situations that made her stunt with the Asambosam pales in comparison. She had been fighting on her own a full-blown and synched werewolf pack and would have died if Dean and Sam didn't come to her rescue. Dean had to kill her « doppelganger » because a monster stole her appearance and memories. It also was the first time monster! She actually expressed the feelings Oya was keeping locked inside her heart. Then, Crowley came back into the Winchester lives, searching for God's artifacts scattered on Earth. She rarely met with the King of Hell, out of pure fear of him, but she did help Dean and Sam in some of their missions together.

Oya couldn't count how many times she saved the brothers, or almost lost them to possession. She couldn't count how many nights she spent awake, reading books because she needed to find a radical solution that would ensure the survival of her beloved family. She remembered when Castiel was the one causing trouble, ghosting the family, looking for other angels and archangels without telling them, and nearly sacrificing his life if it wasn't for the rest of the family to figure things out and stop him. They have been through a lot and these days weren't as different as what they had already known. A god almost killed Oya. Dean heard her gargling sounds and begged Heaven for Castiel to go to her rescue, which he did and he saved her in extremis.

All of the members of TEAM FREE WILL should have been used to death by now, all of them should have been ready to welcome it by now.. yet, none of them were doing okay. This last experience wasn't a miscalculation from Oya or some recklessness. No. The god was in disguise and surprised her. He was far more powerful than all the old gods they fought in the past. He was a new brand of old gods, powerful enough to literally rip her in shreds with just a single attack. That hurt. Her pride was hurt, but the desire to survive and live long enough so she could enjoy a full good life with Dean. Oya realized she wasn't as willing to die as she initially was. Because of Dean.

Dean wasn't a weakness however, she viewed him as her strength. He helped her move forward, become stronger, better equipped. He helped her enjoy life a little more and she realized she didn't want it to stop. She didn't want them to stop. She needed him. Her hazel eyes averted from left to right and she put both hands on her face. She was desperately in love with the Winchester and this euphoric feeling that was filling her heart anchored her a little stronger to live. She wanted to live and she wanted to live with him. Her eyes slowly filled themselves with unshed tears and she groaned. Dean, who had been awake at the same time as she was, left the bed and closed in the distance between the two of them. His strong calloused hands stroked her shoulders and he pulled her into a tight hug. His chin was on top of her coily hair and his arms now wrapped around her torso and waist.

« Don't let me go... » She whispered while holding onto his arms as well. « Please don't let me go. »

« I won't. » He said in a promising tone. « I won't let you go. » He repeated while he pressed his lips to her forehead.

That was enough to calm her down, enough for the moment to reassure the hunter that her partner would not quit on her. He wouldn't decide on a random morning that he didn't want to spend his life with her or she didn't matter to him. With all they've been through, Oya sincerely hoped he wouldn't leave her, just like Dean wished she wouldn't wake up one day and decide she was through with him. They were like this, unbeknownst to them, they both feared to be left behind by the other. They both feared to be hurt again by love yet they chose to be together and enjoy what they had. Oya sighed and opened her eyes, now looking at both reflections in the mirror. She saw him smirk at her and soon enough, the ebony hunter lifted her head to look at him and smirked back. No, there was no reason he would leave, not when he felt so warm against her. Not when he was so open with her, not when they were happy together. Pressed a kiss to his chest and leaned her body against his a little more. They were happy together, why would they ruin it now?
