modern! GoT: Jaime x Bäahal: A Hallmark Christmas movie.

modern! GoT: Jaime x Bäahal: A Hallmark Christmas movie.

A/N: I had to write about them, a little bit <3

Xxxxxx

“They are family. You. Must. Attend.”

Daenerys’ voice still echoed in her mind. Her tone was cold and uninviting. Bäahal knew that she would not be able to skip family gatherings because it was “tradition”. Ever since her siblings were born, they all had to attend -and host- the Targaryen’s family. There was no love in this old noble family, only duty, responsibility, and comparison to each other. Since Aerys died, the family made sure they would always visit his children just so they could badmouth them. Bäahal hated those meetings, mostly because her family never accepted her. They would talk to her, always with a condescending tone and the attitude that said, “you’re not one of us”.

She was, whether they wanted it or not. She had the same eyes color as her father, the same hair, the same spunk. She was her father’s daughter and she wished they would see it. They did, but since she was a disgrace, they refused to acknowledge her as part of the family. She was a stranger and would remain so, no matter what she did. Daenerys was aware of how much it hurt her sister but was satisfied with how things were. Why would she be accepted when she was nothing more but the living proof of her father’s infidelity? Why should she complain when the family did accept her at their table? She was eating next to her siblings and had to present herself on her best behavior so they wouldn’t badmouth their father.

Bäahal hated it. From the small remarks on her “beautiful exotic skin” to the rude questions about her mother, it never was a pleasant moment. She hated unboxing day as well because they were never a present under the Christmas tree for her. So, she longed for the day they would let her go and give her the opportunity not to spend the day with them. She remembered one of the conversations she had with Jaime Lannister about his Christmas. It was not better; Tywin would throw a party to show off to the rest of the family. He would show how successful he was, and his children would have to parade in his little party to support his claim. Jaime couldn’t escape those family gathering but he would have the rest of the night and unboxing day all for himself

She put her phone on the table and scrolled down her screen. She stopped by the last conversation she had with Jaime. It ended with an “I’ll be thinking of you too..” from Jaime. Bähaal smiled at her screen and felt her heart quickly fill itself with shameless joy. Jaime and she had only met a few months ago, at his club. They had danced together, they fucked each other, and kept seeing one another. She grew attached to him, and to the time they spent together. It was easy with Jaime, natural, quiet, lovely. She felt seen.

Her mind drifted away as she started to think of him. During one of their conversations, the silver-haired heiress had a present delivered to Jaime’s secret lair. It was a pair of bubbleheads, one of him and one of her holding hands. She wrote a note, telling him that no matter how things ended, she wanted him to remember how good they felt together and that all she wanted for Christmas was to spend Unboxing day with him. She texted him [To Golden Lion: I had a present taken to our secret lair. Merry Christmas, my Golden Lion. PS: I really wish I could spend Unboxing day with you. But aren’t we both busy on that day?] She sighed and sent it before her violet eyes looked back at the cold scene before her.

As she expected, her family didn’t care for her, they talked to each other and simply avoided her -unless it was to ask her to give salt, pepper and any other shit- Bäahal wanted out, she desperately needed to have Jaime come over and steal her from her family. He would have taken her away for the day, scoop her like a princess and stick her to

Daenerys and the rest of her family.  She wanted the ending of those hallmark Christmas movies, where the girl ended up with the hot hunk of her new small town.  She wanted a happy ending, and Jaime looked more and more like it. At least the comfort, warmth, and fun she had with him felt like those movies.

“And what about you, Bäahal? What are you doing that isn’t parading on newspaper?” Her Aunt Rhaella the II asked her. Which made Bäahal swallow a lump before she looked at her.

“Most of my life isn’t on the tabloids, aunt Rhaella. I am doing great charity work you can read about in actual newspaper.” -She replied before she glanced at her sister for confirmation.  Daenerys nodded quietly before Bäahal smiled at her sister.

Yes, most of her work wasn’t on the newspaper. Most of it consisted of dancing underground, making her an icon in the field. Yet, all that mattered to her was definitely seeing the golden lion. The only person in the whole world to make her feel good, the only one who could see her for who she was without judging her or her “origins”. It was just Jaime and Bäahal. It was just him and her and that was what she was craving at the moment.
