GoT (regular) : Hypothetical future. (the good one)

GoT (regular) : Hypothetical future. (the good one)

(Bäahal is pregnant, so. It's just a random moment between her and Jaime)

xxxxxxx

Casterly Roc, Jaime's office, 11 am.

« Jaime! I wish to speak with you ! » -Bäahal's voice pierced through the silence that had settled in Jaime's office. The urgency in her tone made him look at her with a stern gaze-

He could have guessed Bäahal was about to open the door. He recognized her footsteps as she brisk-walked through the walls of the stern Lannister Castle. He could have guessed if he wasn't busy reading reports of the last expedition he sent. Ever since Daenerys gave her blessings, Jaime and Bäahal were able to manœuvre as they pleased and the plan to find the traitor was greenlit by the queen. It took them a while to weed the suspects out and lure them into revealing who among them conspired against the queen and the princess, but they managed to find them. As soon as an arrest was made and their enemy was sent to the queen, Bäahal decided to spend time with Jaime at Casterly Roc.

Of all the places in the kingdom, Jaime's home was the safest for the two of them. It was safer to explore their relationship a little more, get used to being seen without having the obligation to hide anymore. It was something he'd never had before. All of his interactions with Cersei were hidden -and for good reasons-, so he never had the opportunity to simply walk with his beloved and enjoy the simple things with her. Somehow, it made him even more eager to help his sister reclaim the name Lannister and make something good out of it. It was paying off, finally! After months butting heads with the old lords who couldn't fathom the idea of a woman leading them, Kyra had managed to establish herself as the new head of the table, forcing admiration, lust, and respect among her vassals.

She was working hard with the highest class but also with the lowest of the low. Her attention towards the poor and the needy was at first met with suspicion on their part, before they realized that she was actually genuine in her desire to help them. They finally started to talk about the family in good terms, citing Kyra's benevolence, charisma, and beauty. It was enough for words to spread across Westeros and slowly but surely Kyra was building herself a solid reputation. Jaime's was helping too and with the help of Bäahal who insisted to tell the story of her father and of Jaime's sacrifice for the greater good. It spread like wildfire among the people who still hated him for the rest of his actions, the ones devoted to his family and sister and his blindness to the horror Cersei and Joffrey committed in the name of the Lannisters. But they hated him less now that they knew he risked everything to save everyone from the madness of the king.

« Bäahal, what is going on?  You seem upset. » He stood up, noticing how she was barely standing up due to her body shaking uncontrollably. She nodded frantically before he guided her to a chair and helped her sit. « I'm fetching you a glass of water and after you drank, you'd talk to me, do you agree? »

« Agreed. » She took a deep breath and looked at the blonde Lannister who was now at his cabinet, taking a jar of water and pouring it into a glass. He turned around and gave the princess the glass so she could drink.

« ….. You're shaking as if you've seen a ghost. Is it Daenerys ? » -Bäahal shook her head and put the glass against her chest. - « Good. Is it an injury ? » -The princess shook her head again and took another sip of water. Jaime started to be confused. « Is it... alright, princess, is it bad news? »

« It depends...on what you call bad news. » -She finally said, biting at her thumb before she put the glass and her hands on her lap.- « I am the bearer of some news about the two of us but I do not know how you would react if I told you. »

« You're scared of my reaction? » He repeated, dumbfounded and worried. She said it was about the two of them so he suspected that it was something Daenerys said or did. He searched her violet eyes, wishing to have answers to the questions he didn't formulate but the silver head was silent, shaking, and confused herself. « When did you learn this news? »

« Today. I learned it today. » -She then took a deep breath and another sip of water.- « Once again, it's not something my sister did. It's...Jaime, I think you need to sit down. »

« I'll be fine. You can talk to me. »

She tapped her fingers on the hard surface of the glass, while her violet eyes were looking at the knight before her. Jaime was starting to think that maybe she was making a tempest in a glass of water, but it wasn't exactly who Bäahal was. If she was upset, then the situation must have been dire, or at least important enough to have caused a ruckus in her mind. Her violet eyes averted from the glass to his face and she dropped her shoulders. He could tell that she was about to cry, yet, once again and he was starting to suspect that it had everything to do with him. Could it be that the princess was having a hard time being left to herself in the castle?

Jaime had to think that it probably was that she wanted to leave Casterly Roc and return to King's Landing. Nothing prevented her from leaving the place, if she was so pleased, she could have been gone. He also suspected that it couldn't have been his sister's fault. Bäahal and Kyra were best friends, and they were close to each other, he could see with his own two eyes so what could it be? Her knee was shaking a little harder than the rest of her body, tapping harder to the point of having him curb a brow.

« Bäahal, please, talk to me at once. » -He finally asked, furrowing his brows as she seemed to be gathering strength.-

« You're sure you don't want to sit down ? » -He nodded.- « Fine....I... had just seen the physician this morning because I felt sick. »

« Are you?  What happened ? » -She shook her head and slowly looked at her hands and belly.-

« I'm pregnant...I.. carry our child. » -Bâahal whispered, eyes determined not to look at the knight who stumbled and leaned against the desk.-

« You... what... you ? » -He blinked and leaned harder against the table. The silver princess looked back up to him and wiped a few tears.- « You're pregnant ? » -She nodded, still shaking and expecting his words, his honest to the gods' reaction.-

Jaime then realized that she was scared he would reject her, and the child or children they were about to have. As a matter of fact, he still couldn't realize what was going on. Bäahal looked at him, still wiping some tears. The knight simply walked towards her and knelt before her. The princess gasped as the man took the glass of water off of her hands and put it on the floor. He then cupped her cheek to wipe away her tears. She couldn't stop crying, relieved that he didn't run away or didn't reject her, but still waiting for his honest-to-the-gods response. He smiled at her, happier beyond belief at the news. A child, his child.. the product of his true love with the princess was growing inside of her. He knew that they might never know respite, they might have to fight their whole lives but the news made him want to protect her even more.

For the first time in his life, he would be able to be a proud father, and claim his child in front of the whole world. For the first time in his life, he would be able to have a true family, instead of trying to steal moments behind walls. This made his legs weak and his eyes, now wet with emotions was staring at the perfect face of his beloved. They weren't even married, the whole world wasn't even used to seeing them together and now they were about to become parents. He realized that there was a chance this pregnancy couldn't go to terms -after all, it was frequent for women to lose their babes-, but he would do anything he could to make sure she was safe and sound as well as their baby.

« I chose you, now and forever. I want this child as much as I want you Bäahal... there is no hesitation on my part. This child we're going to have would be the most loved child Westeros would ever see. » He said, excitedly. «  I will protect you both. »

« I will protect you too. » Bäahal said, her voice strangled with a sob. « How I love you so, Jaime. I love you so... »

He smiled at her, at the warm hand on his cheek, and kissed her wrist before he gently put his hand against her belly. Bäahal wrapped her arms around Jaime's head and started to stroke it. She smiled, enjoying the moment with her beloved, knowing that perhaps Fate would have something in store for them, something dreadful or horrible, or that perhaps it would allow them to finally be happy. She loved the idea of them being a family, finally having what both of them believed they could never. Someone to love, a child to raise. She counted her blessings but was cautious with them, perhaps, the joy would be short-lived, perhaps she'd be in more danger than before... perhaps...perhaps everything would be alright and that was what she chose to hold onto.
