Got modern : The music box

As soon as Bäahal returned to her room, she quickly closed the door behind her. Her heart was beating hard, harder than she expected it to beat but she was happy. The few days spent with Jaime were worth the wait, worth the unpleasant start of the night. He had all the reasons in the world to be angry at the situation, even at her. She knew that to have to endure Bronn detailing in excruciating details how much he wanted to fuck her, definitely didn't do Jaime much good, and understood how he felt and why he first welcomed her in such a cold manner.  Oh, she could still remember how her heart sunk as she felt that this would cost her relationship with the older Lannister. for a brief moment, she couldn't breathe, convinced that she couldn't make up for what happened and he would never want to see her again. It went fast, her head spun around but it soon became clear that he wouldn't give up on her.

Instead, he held her in his arms. he kept her close to him. Instead, he talked to her. Her eyes grew wide as she remembered the way he was holding her, keeping her close to his frame as if he was worried she would escape. she let him go, not knowing what to expect but understanding he needed his space. she let him go and come back, this time holding a gift for her. Christmas was a long time ago but they both were so busy that they didn't have a chance to meet after the holiday. Bäahal did gift him with bobbleheads representing the two of them holding hands but she never heard back from him, nor did she think he wanted to have anything to do with her after "Highgarden". yet, he came back with a gift for her.  She was holding it in her hands, still carefully closed, and quickly sunk onto the floor, resting on her heels as she dropped her bag, removed her leather jacket, and tossed both aside. on her lap was the music box Jaime gave her and a soft smile just graced her features as she tucked some silver hair behind her ear.

He had it made just for her. A beautiful music box that sang the song that played at the club when they first met each other. she felt her legs go weak when he first revealed it to her. she felt her heartbeat so fast that it almost poured out of her ribcage. she felt it, the tingle in her heart, that moment she knew she was hooked and he was far more than just someone she had fun with. It became obvious now, to the young heiress, that Jaime mattered to her far more than she pretended he did. his opinion of her mattered, his desires, his joy, and simple gestures such as gifting her a music box with the song that played when they first met.  that had to mean something, she thought to herself as she opened the box to listen to the music. that had to mean that he cared for her and she was important to him. that had to mean something, she repeated, unable to stop smiling at the ballerina dancing to their song.

He remembered she loved to dance, he might not have known she was a skilled dancer just yet, but he remembered. The fact he added this music brought tears to her eyes as she had not anticipated that he could remember such a tiny detail, but he did. without warnings, she felt tears run down her cheeks as she enjoyed the music and the delicate sculpting of the box. it was hers, it was innocent enough to be overlooked by her sister to be able to remain in her room undisturbed. as she wiped her tears, the young woman just closed the music box again and kissed the top of it before she put it on her lap. she knew things wouldn't be easy, mostly because as soon as Daenerys would hear she came home, she'd come to see her.  but for a while, she would have something from him in her room, something that would empower her, something she could look at and that would remind her of him. Something that would remind her of how he felt about her. Someone out there did have feelings for her. Someone out there, knew Bäahal for who she was and she knew it now, she had the proof of this in her room. She had it.  It was all that mattered to her.
