COPG: life of Elpis: Elevate

COPG: the life of Elpis: Elevate

#I'm one of one. I'm the only one. Don't even waste your time trying to compete with me. I am something that you can only dream to be.#

Elpis' new confidence was impacting the fauna and flora. Pride could see that much. She became stronger and far more powerful than the goddess he used to know. Through their conversations, he realized that her family had made sure that she couldn't explore her powers and couldn't know the true nature of her abilities. The daughter of the Elder god Khaos and the Elder goddess Gaea was not just the Elder goddess of Hope and Light. She was far more than this, she was true Balance. She was Creation and Destruction. She was Light and Darkness. Life around her was exploding, she could turn deserts into an oasis (they tried, once, in a small region of the African desert), and she was in tune with nature and the humans around her. Their games became more intense, more dangerous as their grip on human souls became even stronger. She knew that if she willed it, they would start worshipping her instead of her mother but the goddess didn't want to do it just yet. She would battle her mother and she would claim her crown when she would feel it was the right time for it.

Gaea wouldn't take part of the war, she was too much of a coward to even expose herself to the wrath of her daughter. Instead, she would hide. She would recoil in the loneliest places of Earth where she knew her daughter wouldn't look for her. Elpis decided that it could wait until she had destroyed her pantheon. Ayasha and Ishtar and the rest of their siblings had to be eradicated for what they did to her. Ayasha wanted her dead, Ishtar couldn't bring himself to kill her -but still tried to and the other siblings followed their orders without even second-guessing them or at least trying to hear from Elpis' side. They all decided that she would be best if she was dead and for this, the Elder goddess couldn't be satisfied with just killing Ayasha and Ishtar. Everyone had to die. Pride forged her a weapon so she could handle herself in battle and while she still learned how to use it correctly, she had taken a liking to imagine the head of her sister laying on the thick blade of her scythe.

She was exalted by the future ahead of her. She was exalted by the gift of Life and Death she had been given by her parents and that she was now able to tap into. She was exalted that this world had decided she was worthy of ruling it and had accepted to bend to her will. Gaea's powers might have depleted by now, or at least, weakened enough to empower her daughter without knowledge. Perhaps she could feel it, perhaps she had forgotten how to but Elpis knew her time would come. It was just a matter of patience, of advancing the plot, step by step until she could checkmate every elder god in existence so she could remain the last of them. Hunger was overwhelming her, titillating her imagination, holding tight onto her guts, and sending shivers down her spine. She wanted more, and perhaps that had something to do with Pride's devouring ambition or her own... After all, she was the love-child of Khaos and Gaea, who by their very essence, were made to build and destroy, in a never-ending cycle.  Superbia was enjoying every moment with his Light, enthused by her evolution, curious about her elevation, and satisfied with the unbreakable bond they both shared.
