Doya: She was human

Doya:  She was human

// I miss my darlings.

The hunter stared at her reflection in the mirror. She ran her hand over her taut belly. Her body was battered, scarred, and exhausted. She let her fingers run over the marred skin of her shoulder, then her belly, then the heavy scars on her arms. She was in her early 40s yet she managed to remain fit and physically at her peak. It took her years, yes, years to finally embrace the heavy scars on her arms. Oya didn't mind the others, she was even proud of them because they told her story. She was a badass woman. A hunter. Her job was to protect innocent people, human victims of monsters that lurked in the dark. She couldn't avoid taking bumps or being hurt. Those scars, she could embrace. They were worn like badges of honor. However, it took a while for the woman to embrace the huge ones. They were reminders of her mistakes, her recklessness, and her death-seeking tendencies. They were reminders of a time she wasn't stable in her mind and didn't feel at home yet.

Dean kissed it better. He made sure to shower her skin with all the love he had. Those scars reminded him of the time he almost lost her. So, he kissed her scars when she lay in bed next to him. He kissed her scars when she looked at her reflection in the mirror. he kissed it when she was crying in the shower. He kissed it even when she didn't need him to. It worked, after a while Oya was finally starting to like how she looked. She could look at her reflection and feel comfortable in her skin. She let her hands run over her arms and locked her fingers together. She sighed and bit her bottom lip as her hazel eyes stared at her body. There was something that moved her, something she liked about her. She was beautiful. She was flawed. She was human.
