A vintage's touch: The gaze he hated to see.

This was the gaze Tommy hated to see on Mary. He knew that she was deeply hurt but couldn’t voice it. He knew she was disappointed in him and he knew that he messed up.  He hated that feeling because it brought back memories and he could feel the pang in his heart and the knot in his guts whenever she looked at him like that. Mary never lost control, she never yelled. She never screamed at him but her face, her eyes for the one who paid attention, spoke far more than any word she could have said. Tommy hated to see this on her face so he tried to do anything in his power to make her smile instead.
