A vintage's touch: "Smile for me, Mary."

Mary had trouble expressing her emotions. She held them back for so long because the nuns didn’t let her. She had to hold back because her husband didn’t like it when she expressed her grief. So, Mary had issues expressing herself but her family, the Shelbys, knew how to decode her. They could read her face and they could understand her. They managed to bring the best out of her, to give her room to express herself and they could understand her. Mary was soft, she was kind, she was nurturing and she cared for her family. She wanted the best for them, but Mary still had trouble expressing her emotions, especially when hurt. Tommy knew. He knew.
