Pride and Elpis: There would be Pride

Elpis lost everything the day Ishtar stabbed her. She lost her old life, the ability to see and spend her eternal life with Pride and was erased from everyone but her tormentors' memory. Everyone forgot her existence, including Pride and since then, it had been a lonely fight. Relentlessly, the goddess tried to scratch that seal and weaken its strength so Pride and those who loved her could remember her. It had been a lonely fight, where the only thing that kept her fighting was her love for Pride. The memories she had of the life she used to lead were the only thing that helped her on lonely days. It was a life that became a dream, a dream of what could have been and would never be anymore. It was a life where she would be the queen of the Underworld's King. It was a life where she was the center of his attention, maybe after himself, but still at the center of it.

She was aware of how much she had lost. From her family to her freedom, to her life with the Sin. There was nothing left there, except Pride. He was aware, he managed to put her vessel to safety. He was willing to fight Leviathan to set her free. It could mean anything, and her first instinct was to say that he did it out of spite, because he was deprived of something he deserved to have, of someone who genuinely cared for him, of a life he could have had. Yet, when he took care of Asma and searched for a way to save her life. He cared for Asma, maybe he could care for her too? It was a comforting thought, that once her revenge was done and she would try and search for a reason to stay, there would still be Pride. She wouldn't be alone anymore. There would be Pride.
