Oya : The smile

(Oya)

She did not smile a lot. As a matter of fact, you'd have a better chance to have her smirk than fully genuinely flash her smile. Oya didn't think much about not flashing her pearlies. She always had her mean face on because business wanted her to. It was something serious after all, hunting monsters, fighting them, coming home with fresh cuts and bruises or some broken bones. It was a serious business, after all.

She didn't have many reasons to smile. Because the life she led wasn't that great when you thought about it. It was a painful life, made of tragedies and loss. It was a life made of failures on a personal side. Her hunts were formidable, her fights were worth the anticipation but once the show was over? Nobody waited for her at home because they were all dead. Nobody would want to, she strongly believed that, so she locked herself in a self-imposed solitary life and focused on tracking down the monster responsible for her misfortune.

That was 3 years ago. That was her state of mind when she met the 3 of them. That was the mess they inherited. Someone who had troubles staying because she didn't know any better. She didn't have many reasons to smile. She still doesn't but Life is different now. It's sweeter, it's nicer, it's tolerable. She'd point it out to the boys: "You make things tolerable, so here's to us!" would be her celebratory catchphrase. Today, things were different, she had three different reasons to smile. A bookworm who was the annoying brother she needed and loved more than she cared to admit. Then there was the Stoic dork Angel, the one and only angel she would ever tolerate and love. Then there was Dean...Her partner, the only partner who could tolerate her messy ass and strong head. The only one she would always come back to, the only one she wanted to come back to. And just like the other two, she loved him too and he made her smile.

The most.
