Doya : Back in the saddle

A/N: Welp! She's finally healed! She's so excited about going back to hunting with Dean and is preparing herself to be at her top when it does happen. She also reflects on how being a hunter is in her DNA, and how she did appreciate meeting Jacob for the brief moment he came around. Complete with a sweet moment shared with Dean. She's in a good place mentally wise, mostly because she's not frustrated anymore and she also would have fewer nightmares now that she can tag along with Dean.

As soon as she healed, Oya decided to train in order to regain complete efficiency on the field. It had been weeks, more than a month since she was able to actually roam the streets and encounter supernatural creatures she desired to hunt down. It was in her blood, the thrill of the hunt, the satisfaction of helping strangers and saving lives. Oya was born and bred to become a hunter. They taught her everything she knew with that goal in mind. She was taught how to enjoy hunting down malevolent monsters, how to cooperate with benevolent ones and how to ensure a balance between good and evil. She was taught the most lethal skills along with the gruesome ways to torture and take a life, along with how to save lives and preserve balance and harmony. Being unable to hunt for as long as she was, slowly drove Oya very sad. She was missing something and wasn't sure if Dean could understand how it felt. Withdrawal would be the right word if she was to describe it. Maybe it was a difference of culture, or her family was special but Oya knew that the way she was upbrought definitely was different from Dean and Sam's. Hunting was an art form almost, where the most graceful and skilled hunters were rewarded whereas in Dean and Sam lives, hunting was first forced and later became part of their identity. It wasn't the same. She wasn't the same.

Along with saving lives and doing business, Oya was missing the joy of riding with Dean. He was in her mind, you couldn't blame Oya for wanting to spend time with her soulmate. Ah.. was it the word? Soulmate? It had been several months now since Oya told Dean about how she felt and since he confessed he was in love with her too. Several months since it was « official » without any of them claiming it in front of others. Sam guessed Kira stumbled into the new before Oya knew she was Dean's daughter. Jacob knew because Sam told him and Castiel because he witnessed the whole thing bloom before his very eyes. They never called each other  « boyfriend » or « girlfriend » and even now, when they did say the words, it felt alien, solemn even. He was her « Dickhead » as she affectionately called him since they met and she was his « bitch », again, said affectionately. They argued a lot at the beginning and still very much did. Sometimes she was in the extreme and sometimes he was edgy.. hiding. Communication was still not seamless so of course, they still needed to make efforts and meet each other halfway.

She met Jacob, for the first time when Dean and Sam went away in another case. He didn't stay long but it was enough for them to establish a friendly relationship. Oya wasn't good at making friends, but she was ^proud of herself and thought that she did good enough with her boyfriend's brother. Sure, she insisted on having him make her something to eat, mostly out of habit from her to having Dean cook for both but also because she believed that talking while eating was the best way to bond with someone. They kinda did bond. Enough for her to know she wanted to see him again and eventually, hunt with him if Dean and Sam had to go hunt together. Yes, independence right? She had always been a lone hunter, she worked best when she was hunting on her own rather than with company, but months spent with Dean had her get used to working alongside someone else. A partnership wasn't that bad. Sometimes, it even could save your life. Jacob would be a good alternative to Castiel (who always ended up stranded somewhere else, or working his own cases) or hunting alone. He was part of a family she wanted to be part of. He questioned her and his words resonated with Oya for a long time after his departure. Who was she, to the Winchester?

She considered Sam a brother, they even had that conversation already. He considered her a sister he never had given how well they got along. She considered Dean her lover.. they were lovers, more than that. She loved him in a way she wasn't used to. A possessive way that made her go crazy or feel jealous of any other woman who tried to get too close to him. She felt connected to him, centered with his presence and sane by his side. After all, he was her dreamcatcher and took away her nightmares. After all, he took some of her guilt away, made her feel at home.. made her feel relevant again. After all..... she did say to Jacob without second thoughts that she was his sister-in-law. It sounded so natural and she didn't make a fuss out of it, but her mind worked in mysterious ways and here she was hitting the air with her martial arts movements and kicking the frustration out of her system. She did say « Sister-in-law. » and if she wasn't paying attention, she might even say « Step-mother » to Kira, which would be ridiculous. She was none of that. It was going faster than light to think of the relationship like this. She was a girlfriend. She was a fine buddy to hang out with and have sex with. She didn't want to go through the same ordeal as she did with Fabrice. To get engaged and abandoned after a while because she didn't fit anymore and he didn't care. She didn't want Dean to commit if he didn't mean it but what did that say about her? Was she ready to commit? It had just been months.. a little more than a year, she couldn't be sure. And she wasn't. Maybe it was just the after effect of seeing him with more people in his family that he first said he had. Sure, those relationships were broken but so was hers with Dean. Oya punched in the air and then jumped to kick before she landed on the floor, grabbed the angelic blade on the floor and rolled on herself before she slashed the air.

She loved Dean. That was certain. Maybe she loved him faster than she cared to admit, maybe she loved him stronger than he ever will. She just knew she chose him and she didn't want to look around anymore. She didn't need them to be together for her to watch him and make sure he was alright. She loved him... from that kind of love that made you wake up in the middle of the night and check on your loved one. That kind of love that made you smile for no reason but just because their name came up in your mind, or their smile or their voice. She loved him to the point of being willing to die for him if there was the need to. Oya then stood up, twirled the blade in her hand and started to attack invisible assailants on both sides of her, switching the hand that held the blade to work on the use of both hands. As she rapidly slashed the air, she then threw the knife up in the air, rolled on herself, grabbed it before it hit the floor and slashed invisible legs. She was intense, that was the truth, and less independent than she wanted to believe. She had to go hunt on her own, let Dean breathe for a while and have him know that she wouldn't cling to him because they weren't this kind of people. She wasn't clingy... except whens he was. Oya groaned at the thought and put the knife on the table before she started to stretch, bending forward to touch her toes.

« Oya ?. » She did hear his footsteps and the door open but didn't stop her training until she decided she was done. She was.

« Mmmhhh? Oh, aren't you a peach! Is that beer for moi? »

« No fucking way! It's mine! You can fetch yourself one at the kitchen. » He said as he walked towards her. « I like the position. Hold it for a second. »

« Nah. »straightenedhened up and crossed her arms over her chest. « You didn't bring me a bottle of water, so you don't get to see that perfect chocolate ass. »

« Yeah, well, I don't care. I know that gorgeous ass of yours by heart now. » He said grabbing her by the waist and pulling Oya against his chest.

« How flattering ! » She sarcastically sneered before she planted a kiss on his neck. A thick layer of sweat covered her body that was wrapped in gym yoga clothes. « Now now.. did you come here just to check on my wound ? It's all healed now. I'm just training and get back to using my stuff. »

« I know. I just needed to make sure you weren't bleeding out. » He said, pressing a kiss on top of her head. « I wanted to know if you wanted to hit the road with me for a case ? »

« No. I'll be fine, I need to... I have a case. » She mumbled and tucked some black locks behind her ear.

« And you didn't tell me ? I could ask Sam to switch around so we could hunt t-- »

« It's alright Dean. I'll take this one solo. » He rolled his eyes but she cupped his cheek. « I'll be alright. It's probably just a ghost. Nothing to be scared about. I take the easy cases, just to get back to my old self. »

« You're not avoiding me, I hope. » She shook her head. Half-saying the truth. It wasn't him she was avoiding, it was her and the potential of her being clingy she was trying to run away from. That was a silly idea, she wasn't clingy, both liked to hunt together but she wanted to prove herself.

« I ain't. I'm taking boring simple cases to warm-up. » She planted a kiss on his lips. « And when we're both back, I promise you a ngiht you will remember. » She then whispered to his ear what she intended to do to him once they were together and alone, which made Dean grin from ear to ear.

« Okay, Boss, you decide. However, I'm on speed dial so if you need anything.. »

« Gotcha ! I'll call you. » She chuckled and nuzzled his nose as he pressed her body against hers, making her moan softly in the process. « What about... what about you put that beer away for a minute and I show you another training I have heard of. »

«mmhh ??? Now ? You mean.. now now ? » He asked, already puting his beer away while his other hand was gently stroking her exposed back. Oya chuckled and rubbed her nose against his neck., « Oh Oya.. »

« Shhh... » She shushed him with a kiss. The white noise in her head vanished, only to fill her very senses with the present moment, with him.. her anchor,. Her heart... Her home.
