GoT: family dinner

GoT: family dinner

// I love love love Tyrion and love how his relationship with Bäahal evolved :D

Tyrion put his hand over the princess. Just mere minutes ago they had been enjoying a nice supper and she had been talking with the cute animated voice she always had but it quickly faded when Jaime had to leave the dining room in order to join Jon Targaryen. The princess bit at her bottom lip and instinctively her fingers curled into a ball and held onto the tablecloth as hard as she could. Little by little, she started to lose her smile and dropped her shoulders. It didn't take long, did it? It didn't take long before reality set in and forced the princess to face the truth of her situation. Not so long ago, someone tried to kill her. Not so long ago, she had survived a siege! Not so long ago, someone wanted to hurt her sister. The truth was, she wasn't safe, not yet, and regardless of whether or not Daenerys gave them her blessings, this situation had to be dealt with first.

Tyrion could see how nervous the princess was. She couldn't leave the Red Keep until they had brought the traitors to justice, therefore, she couldn't join Jaime and Jon in their mission. Being apart from her betrothed proved to give the princess an excruciating pain in her soul because she felt that every moment spent together was the last. Tyrion squeezed her hand, giving her a compassionate look, and tried to soothe her with the stroke of the back of her hand. It was still strange to him to call the princess his sister-in-law. They have come a long way, from a teeth-clenched alliance to a frustrating relationship between the two of them. She could understand why he ratted her out to the queen, but still wished she was given the choice and did it herself. They managed to go from this to a sincere friendship that grew stronger at the death of  Viserion.

They were to become a family, by virtue of the law but also before the gods Old and New. Tyrion was perplexed by the news. For so long he had been deprived of a proper family. His mother died while birthing him, and his father hated his guts, as well as Cersei. He was close to Kyra and Jaime but both of them had to deal with their respective issues. To add insult to injury, at the death of Joffrey, he was sent to die and would probably died if Jaime had not set him free. His journey with Daenerys put some distance between his family and himself and forced them to face each other because of Cersei's unwavering hatred.  The Last War should have taken everything from him, it really should, but Tyrion was lucky because Jaime and Kyra survived, His queen became the rightful ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, and thanks to Bäahal, he was able to talk to his older brother again. His family wasn't fully destroyed. They had a chance to make it better. Bäahal would soon be part of this family.

"Ser Tyrion...." She said with a strangled voice. "I don't want to live a life where I will just watch Jaime leave me over and over again.  I want to go with him... I want to ride with him... I need to."

"Princess..." -She looked at him, eyes filled with unshed tears, informing Tyrion that she was about to sob. Tyrion put his other hand over her arm.- "I understand your desire to join my brother. I understand your desire to be with him but Jaime needs you to stay here. He needs you to be safe. He will come back to you, to us and until he does, I will keep an eye on you. I will watch after you. You're not going to be alone. You never will be."

And with these words said, the princess finally broke into tears. she leaned her head against his shoulder and sobbed loudly. The princess was so exhausted that she needed to vent. Tyrion kept her close to his frame and gently stroked her shoulder in order to bring her some comfort. He understood her pain and her fears. he understood, by the gods Old and New, he was scared for Jaime. He was scared for her.
