Sara believed -well she wrongly assumed- that Dotty would have tried to meddle in the relationship. She feared that her desire to protect her asset-- Sara, would make her try and challenge Homelander. Was the Homelander good for Unnamed Girl's brand? Hell no! Everybody knew he was an unhinged man. Everybody knew he could murder them. Everybody knew he was a menace to Law and Order and society. Well... Some people.
Vaught was really great at spinning the narrative and surely, a lot of people were rallying behind Homelander, especially since he protected his son from a rando who attacked Ryan. People loved him. True "Patriots", true Fanatics... Still, Dotty would not try to hitch her girl with the older man. Why would she want that? Why would she risk Sara's career and safety? If she learned what was happening, she would have freaked out, and given the situation, she would have tried to work against him. She might even have tried to reach out to Butcher in order to stop the "most powerful man in the world." so it was best for Sara to keep it to herself and private for now. For Dotty's safety.
