A vintage's touch: Mommy dearest

Helen Bridge had always made sure that nothing and no one could stand in her way. She had always refused to be a victim of her time and always acted accordingly. First, she wanted to experience life and refused to restrain herself from falling in love or enjoying sex. Her boldness led her to a handsome Jamaican man with whom she had a child. Upon discovering that unwanted pregnancy, Helen was forced to make a choice: either she tried to get rid of the baby by her own means before her body showed signs of the pregnancy or she delivered the baby and left it behind. She didn't want to risk her life, so delivering the baby seemed like the safest option for her. She returned to the United Kingdom and delivered her baby at an orphanage owned by nuns. She didn't want to hold the baby in her arms or see it, but she overheard the nurses talk about her green eyes and beauty spots and despite her best efforts, Helen kept the information with her.

She left the orphanage and that unwanted child behind her without any remorse. Her father decided to make her his heir and at his death, she inherited a massive fortune and his company she ruled with an iron fist.  As she grew older, she became more interested in politics and got involved in a far-right political party. Hungry for power, Helen started to see Sir Martin Blackwater, a far-right MP from the House of Lords who gravitated around Mosley. She had power at the tip of her fingers and was contemplating marrying him when he asked her to disclose if she had any skeletons in her closet. Panicked, she assured him that she had none but decided to make sure that she cut all the loose ends on her part. She hired a detective to search for the child she once left behind. She needed to know if that girl survived and if she did, she had to kill her for good. It took her several months but the worst news was delivered to her: Her daughter had survived. her name was Mary Colson and she was seeing that fraud Thomas Shelby. If she wanted to get married to Sir Blackwater, she had to kill Mary Colson and she was determined to get it done.
