Mary headacnon: Longing // How does she cope with the absence.

1) Mary misses Tom. He tends to work away from home for a while. He tends to go on business for a while. She’s used to not seeing him but boy does she miss him.  His presence is comforting, the way he says her name, when they eat dinner (but she is the one really eating. He’s giving her company) and they talk about everything. When they ride horses and picnic outside. When she dances with him (rare but memorable). When she sings to him. She misses seeing the glimmer in his eyes when he looks at her when she sings or dances. She misses his kisses, his scent… and running her fingers over his hair.

When Tom gets riled up. He tends to go harder, to trash talk her, to make her bounce and feel dirty (in a good way). He encourages her to let her bad side come out and she loves it when she can cuss him out. She misses when he holds her cheeks and taunt her, when he goes deep inside her and stays there. She misses the man so badly.

2) she tries to manage but she’s always a pile of nerves. She would try and tend to her needs but it’s not helping because Tommy isn’t here. It’s not a real relief and she’s still on edge. She would try to reach out to him if possible. A call, a letter. She’d go to his office and fuck him silly. She’d try to reach out to him for a lunch or his return home. She’d try to keep busy but even at the orphanage on slow days she’s left humping the desk or the chair because he’s not there. Or she reads and drinks. She tends to the family issues. Ada and her children. Polly… Finn.. anything to distract her from missing her man.
