Bäahal had never considered the knight as lesser than. When they met, he had already lost his hand and it never twisted her perception of him. Jaime was brave, he was honest, and he had a passionate heart. He was the most beautiful man she's ever laid her eyes on. So she never recoiled in fear or disgust at the sight of his stump. She never thought ill of it, never took pity of him and instead welcomed Jaime as he was.
It could have had something to do with the fact she grew up a slave and shared her life with a diversity of people, including those who were either maimed by her masters or who were born with visible disabilities. It never seemed odd to her, it never seemed ugly. It simply was. He simply was.
