Doya: road to Pluto: A devouring ambition

//  This time, it's team Free Will that is trying to find the god. Sam and Castiel really took it personally when Oya was nearly killed by the god and they want to find him as soon as possible.

Sam and Castiel had been investigating Pluto. They trusted Dean's plan to defeat the God. Find his location and whereabouts, sever his connection to the mortal realm so worships would not power him up, and find a weapon strong enough to kill such a powerful god. They were on investigation duty and  worked quite well together. Sam had never asked the angel what he thought of the whole situation, nor how he felt upon healing Oya and saving her life after her first encounter with the god. He didn't want to know the details, for a while, because it would surely put his nerves into a knot.

Oya nearly died. That was enough for him to actually take the case more seriously (and personally) than before. The god had tricked the seasoned hunter into thinking he was nothing but a creature she was used to fight (a vampire). Yet, he revealed himself during their encounter because he didn't want her to kill him just yet. Even then, he already had more power than she could have imagined as he destroyed her really easily. Castiel and Sam were both present when she called and asked for help. Everyone could hear her struggle to breathe and choke on her own blood. That was traumatic. That scared them so much that Castiel used most of his energy to teleport to where she was and heal her.

Oya was family. After spending so many years by their sides, she couldn't be seen any other way. She was family. She was with Dean, and she welcomed them as if they were her brothers. It took some time, to warm up to the idea, to let her in (each had their reasons, Charlie's death being one of these) and they fought hard to keep her in, so she wouldn't feel out of place and leave. She stayed and bonded with each of them at their own pace, but she stayed. They both swore to protect her better after her encounter with Pluto, as if to make-up with their inability to do anything when she faced the god. They swore to themselves that it would not happen again and they would not see Dean lose his mind like he did when that happened.

Pluto was a dangerous and ambitious god who hid very well. They couldn't locate him as easily as they thought they would because he didn't expose himself much. Most of the sightings revealed themselves to be mistakes, but they had a lead. They found a credible lead, in  the middle of the United States. The God went to the bible belt, challenging the authority of Chuck because he wanted to drag in more followers. Wherever he went, a trail of dead bodies followed. What was his true ambition? was he trying to become more than Chuck or was he trying to kill Chuck? Perhaps it had nothing to do with the "writer" and everything to do with Mankind. His motivations remained unclear but Team Free Will didn't give up just yet.
