Chronicles of the Primeval Gods : Life and Death of Ayasha : And the Queen eats the Knight

A/N: Ayasha's nickname is the Chessmaster so I decided to make a little pun here (lame as fuck but who cares?). She'd just killed Sitaa but realizes that things might not go her way. She's frustrated because Elpis is /this/ close to being released and she can't prevent it from happening unless Leviathan succeeds in killing both Pride and Asma/Elpis. We also get to see how she controls Isthar.

Ayasha returned to her private chambers. Her hands were soaked with the blood of her sister and she contemplated washing it off of her. There was something exciting about taking one's life, something she had never experienced until now. Usually, it was the Torturer of Gods who took care of taking lives of her enemies or any other god she could manipulate to do her bidding. This time felt different because she got to do it herself. She messed up at first, too much blood and the death didn't come fast. It was agony to hear to Sitaa's screams and see her tears as she was disemboweled but at the same time, it felt extremely good. Ayasha realized that she had a taste for blood, especially when it was splattered all over herself. Seeing Sitaa's life force quit her body was a sight to behold and awoke urges inside of Ayasha, the goddess didn't know she had.

So that was how Isthar felt whenever he went on these battlefields? Was that how he felt during the war of The Primeval gods? Powerful, invincible, lethal? She still had to wash her body so she wouldn't bring a negative attention on her. After all, she had a reputation to behold, a rôle to play, something that would fool all the gods and her allies into believing she was a weak goddess who simply followed Ishtar's orders. She didn't mind having people underestimate her like it had been the case for so long. The previous All-Father disregarded her the minute Elpis was born but Ayasha was persistent. She was clever and she knew what she wanted. She played a long-term game, one that would see her enemies fall one by one by the hands of other enemies so she wouldn't need to get her hands dirty or expose herself and her real plans. Nobody would see her coming.

Nobody should.

She washed her body off of the blood of her sister and changed clothes to the beautiful golden toga she usually wore. A quick snap of her fingers and the clothes she wore while on Earth caught fire and burned in front of her. Just in time apparently since the big golden door of her private quarters opened up to a very agitated Ishtar. Ayasha's vessel's green eyes glowed intensely and the smug smirk she sported a minute ago was replaced with an expression of fear. Ishtar wasn't difficult to manipulate. He enjoyed his new status as the All-father and would of course love to see his subject fear him for fear was to him, equated to respect. So she « pretended » she feared him so he wouldn't suspect any hidden agenda. She killed the Torturer of Gods, using its one weakness against it so there would be no information about her being the one who actually killed Sitaa. Ishtar walked closer to his sister, his hand on his sword so he could look even more menacing. Ayasha, who was sitting on the bed, just rolled on her side to dramatically look at her brother.

« What has you so agitated my king? »

« What has me? I cannot find Elpis, that's what is bothering me. The more she's on the loose, the closer she gets to being released and you and I would not want to have the goddess of Hope outside. She is very vindictive, do you remember what happened to the Sumerian Pantheon? » His voice echoed like thunder, making the walls shake as a consequence. Ayasha wasn't afraid, Ishtar just threw a tantrum like he always did, but she faked that emotion.

« I know. I know we need to find her soon. I have been trying Brother, I have been trying ever since I watched her. We never thought she would be strong enough to break the seal and yet she did. Now that the Sin is by the sides, it simply slows us down but that will not stop us. I promise you. Ha—Have a seat on my bed Brother, let me help you. » She said as she patted the mattress beside her. Ishtar took the bait and sat on the bed, his sword now resting against the soft mattress. She knelt and went behind him, both hands resting on his shoulders for a massage.

« I do not know what I would do without you. I never could have imagined that some of our brothers and sisters would turn against us. »

« The rebellion is almost squashed, beloved brother, You almost have them all submit to you. »

« Some are still loyal to Elpis. Now that she had scratched the seal, they remember why they fought. Those we successfully manipulated are awakening as well. I fear there might be a mutiny among our ranks. »

« There won't be. Let me handle that technicality Ishtar. You need to focus on the most important matter athands. You need to handle the rebellion. I would handle our soldiers. Leviathan is on Earth right now. He's looking for Elpis and the Sin and I am very sure that he would find them and eradicate them so you wouldn't have to worry about them. » She said as she wrapped her arms around her brother's shoulders and leaned her cheek against his neck. « All would be sorted out soon. »

« You are very confident in Leviathan. Before the curse, he always was a rival of mine. He would not forget his goal of becoming the new All-Father. I know he's waiting for his turn so he could betray us and kill me. » Ishtar sometimes was too clever for his own good. That was a very good possibility. Leviathan always had a king complex and really wanted to become the new All-Father. It only was because Ishtar beat him to it that he had to bow before his brother. That didn't mean he wouldn't plot against his brother if he had the opportunity and turn on Ayasha if she wasn't careful. So she whispered into Ishtar's ear.

« Then we find a way to completely submit him. As much as I wouldn't mind seeing him dead, he's the master of the ocean and we do need someone of his power on our sides. I will search for a more permanent way to sway him to our cause and make him serve you without a hidden agenda. »

« You will do that for me? » He asked, purring at the softness of her skin against his. She nodded.

« And so much more. You have always been the most honest of us all Ishtar. You never had a hidden agenda, no mind games. You were a simple god with simple needs. You've been dragged into that conflict by people who didn't understand why you punished Elpis. It was to ensure our survival. They waged a war against you, not the opposite. »

« And you have always been by my sides. » He said, holding her hands. « Without you, I don't know where I would be today. I don't know if I would still be alive. »

« Aawwww, you did it all by yourself brother. You became the All-Father and protected our realm. They can't do anything to us. Surely, Elpis still has allies and they probably helped her but Khrön is dead and I have learned that Sitaa was killed as well. » She could feel his heart break.

Ishtar was close to Sitaa, probably because she was the first born and always looked after her siblings. He was disheartened to see she chose Elpis side and ran away from the realm but was hoping she would not be killed and would be reasoned with. Ayasha decided to play some mind games with Ishtar so he wouldn't feel sorry for his sibling's death.

« Don't feel sad for her. She betrayed us. Don't you remember? She sided against you and I learned that she gave Pride Elpis bracelets. »

« Her bracelets? » These were powerful enough to withstand an attack from the All-father and by Chaos who knew what else? It was a very powerful weapon that fell in the hands of the enemy and surely enough, this new alone erased the tiny shred of pity and sorrow he felt towards his departed sister.

« I told you. Elpis has allies. I know you want to feel sorry for her, but I beg you not to, Brother. She and her Sin are plotting against us and if Pride kills Leviathan, Elpis would be free. I need you to be ready. I am scared of what could happen. » She said, kissing his cheek.

« I will protect you Ayasha. » His tone softened up. She was fragile after all, he would protect his sibling. She internally grinned because she knew she had Ishtar wrapped around her finger and proceeded with a kiss on his lips. He didn't reject her, as a matter of fact, Ishtar felt lonely, so Ayasha's company was very welcomed. He threw his sword onto the ground and removed his armour while Ayasha pulled away and watched as he quickly got chest naked in front of her. « Do you want tthis?»

« If you promise to be gentle with me. » She said in a fake nervous voice. He nodded and climbed onto the bed, ready to spend the night with his sister and relieve himself from some tension. And just like that, the Chessmaster had made a perfect move. The Queen ate the Knight and was ready for more.
