COPG: Life and Death of Ishtar: he was ready to put an end to it.

COPG:  Life and Death of Ishtar: he was ready to put an end to it.

Ishtar didn't wait for Ayasha to be ready and instantly teleported to the location she gave him.  He needed to see for himself the truth of her words. As soon as he arrived, he noticed how unusual the place looked. How come this place was such a wreck in the middle of tall buildings? It was completely taken over by flowers, vines, and other vegetation that made it look like a wild garden.  The naked eye could be fooled and would think that it was a genuine natural event, but he knew better. He could see the essence of his sister all over the place. He could literally see it on the floor mixed with the cum of that disgusting beast that was the Sin. He could see her godly essence at every corner of the former room, at the feet of every plant that grew from the blood of humans. He could see her influence and her essence lingering in this garden as well as the thoughts and emotions of the mortals who died within those walls.  They had sex there.  He could smell her. He could feel it in his bones, what had transpired in this room. It was as if the scene was playing in his very eyes. -courtesy of his beloved sister's essence-.

He felt the jaws of jealousy seize his heart and squeeze it hard as he looked over the whole scenerie. He could see his sister, laid on the floor, legs open for all to see. He could see it now, the cock of the Sin sliding in and out of his beloved sister. He could hear her screams, the choked moans as she would beg for more. He could feel how depraved that event was despite being unable to see what had exactly unfolded. All he could feel were the desires from the mortals slain here. He could feel their desperation for the goddess, their lust mixed with anger and bloodlust. He could feel them lose their minds and kill each other in the name of Elpis. It wasn't just her mere presence there that caused such a ruckus. No. She actively influenced them to give everything to her as tributes. They worshipped her, plain and simple, and she turned their lives upside down. If anything, life booming in this secluded place, turning the building into pieces, was a testament of her power.  Elpis had nothing to do with the meek goddess they convinced her to be. She was reclaiming her power, and that was easy to see.

Ayasha finally arrived, her blonde vessel dropped in nothing but a white and gold toga. She noticed the scenery and quickly came to the same conclusion as Ishtar. It was Elpis' doing. This place reeked of her essence, and the display of power was obscene but willful. Her dear sister wanted them to find it and to know that she was able to roam the Earth without being noticed by Ayasha's spies. It also was a way for her to showcase her power and influence on mortals. She had tapped into the destructive side of Life, as those trees that grew from the pools of blood and entrails on the floor testified. She had made such a bold and flamboyant move that Ayasha understood the gravity of the situation. Elpis was in control. For the first time in a long time, she was the one calling the shot, and worse than anything, she had vanished from their eyes and could strike at any moment. Ayasha swallowed a lump.

"Brother-mine. If anything, this is Elpis' declaration of war."

"Do you think I don't see it? She's taunting us with her display of power!" -He roared. His voice boomed in this makeshift garden. Ayasha swallowed a lump and bit her bottom lip-

"Ishtar... She is more powerful now than she's ever been. She grew trees and vines and flowers from inside a building. She tore this place into a million pieces and turned it into a garden. You can see it, can't you? Her influence? Humans worshipped her to the point of killing each other and themselves in doing so. They gave her everything, from their essence to their lives, and she took every last bit of it.  I think we do not need more evidence than the ones we already have. She is coming for us and we should be ready for it. She knows her way around the Prima Donna so..."

"Ayasha, I can feel fear squeeze your throat." -She dropped her head, blonde locks fell on her chest-

"I am afraid, brother-mine. I can admit it. I am afraid she would come and snuff us out of existence like she did the Sumerian Pantheon. I do want to live. So please... Please... I need to know that we're going to win this war." -Ishtar's face softened as he heard his sister's pleas. She must have been genuinely desperate for her to admit how scared she was. He realized that at this moment, he was the only one who could bring her some sort of comfort-

"I promise you that."

He pulled her into a tight hug because he thought that she needed to be held in his powerful arms. Deep down, however, He was extremely angry. Jealousy had eaten him alive, and all he wanted was to find the Sin and kill him for good. He couldn't bare the thought of that abomination fucking his sister. He couldn't bare the thought of her debasing herself with Pride in front of an audience. He had to put an end to it and he was willing to rush things over.

COPG: Beating the drums of war

COPG: Beating the drums of war

// Ishtar wanted to talk, so I let him talk.

xxxxx

Gaea's brown eyes set upon her son. Ishtar was still wearing his favourite skin suit and as usual, was impeccably dressed in a blue suit with a black tie. His hair was tied in a loose ponytail and some loose strands were whipping his face as the cold sea wind was blowing hard. She noticed how tense her son was and there was a reason for it: Elpis and her Sin were still a problem/ They couldn't locate Elpis and Gaea had noticed that she had lost a lot of control over nature and humans. That informed her that her daughter actually became more powerful.  Should she be afraid about losing her power or should she fight it? Gaea was still the Goddess of Life, the one who brought life to this planet, how could she lose power over her daughter? Gaea pinched her lips together and crossed her arms above her chest.

"What are we doing here, Son? Aren't we supposed to be preparing for the upcoming war?"

"Who says we are not? I brought you here because I wanted to see something." -He then turned around to look at his mother. Gaea crossed her arms a little tighter against her chest- "You've felt it too didn't you? Elpis' power is growing, She is challenging you isn't she?"

"And what about it? Do you think I am afraid of my own daughter?" -She shrugged and tried to sound like she didn't care about it but he could see the fear in her eyes. He could see her shake at the mention of Elpis becoming powerful enough to challenge her own mother and become the New-All mother.-

"You should!" -He growled at her and turned around to face her- "You should be worried about her!" -He pointed his forefinger at his mother- "You were aware of her growth and you didn't tell us!" -He accused her- " You felt you were losing control of your powers but you kept it to yourself."

"And what about it, Son? This is only my concern!"

"We are going to war against her, I'd like to have all the information I need to ensure our victory. When you withdraw information from us, this is when we lose!"

He was not comfortable at all, the once-powerful  New All-father had no control whatsoever of the situation and it was starting to make him lose his composure. Ishtar was still upset because he wasn't able to kill his sister as planned. At the last minute, he wasn't able to complete his gesture and cursed her instead, taking the risk of having her come back. It happened exactly like this, she came back to haunt him. She came back to hurt him. She came back to punish him. He couldn't do anything but try to prepare himself for the upcoming war. Something had changed, he couldn't tell what it was, but the fact his sister was showcasing tremendous power had shaken him to his core.

He was perfectly aware that she was True Balance, the love child of his parents: God of Chaos and destruction and Goddess of Life.  She had always been kept in the dark concerning her powers, but it seemed that it had been in vain given how powerful she was becoming. They have been unable to locate her because of the Sin's magic and this allowed her to experiment with her powers and tap into them in ways she had never done before. He was scared because he realized that she had a chance to win the war. A chance... not a fluke.. but an actual chance.

Gaea didn't say anything. Instead, she simply looked at her older son with an impassible face. In truth, she was terrified to witness her son feel fear. Ishtar was the strongest and the most powerful of the Primeval Gods. If he was terrified then how could they win the war? how could they face an angry Elpis at full power and fully realized? how could they win the war? She didn't show it, but her fingers dug deeper into her skin and the rictus on her face turned into a twitchy grin. Still, in front of her son, she decided to keep her composure and pretend that everything was fine, because everything was, right? Everything had to be.

COPG: Life and Death of Ishtar: The drums of War

He could hear them from afar, the deafening sound of the drums of War. Ishtar was the New-All Father but he also was the God of War so he knew. He knew when the planet was getting ready for battle, the scent of the Earth was different, heavier, muddier. He knew the sky was getting ready to lay waste on the battlefield, with rain, thunder and perhaps lightning. He could feel the unrest of the wildlife, preparing for an event of a global scale, a devastation so important that they knew they had to take cover.

Ishtar could feel it, the electricity in the air, the uncertainty in the minds of his soldiers preparing for battle. There would be war, a war he didn't ask for but a war he would have to deal with nonetheless. He used to love those moments. He used to anticipate with excitment  the next war but this time things were different. This time he knew he wouldn't enjoy it as much because he wasn't the one who initiated it. He wasn't the one in control of it. There was a strange feeling that was strangling his throat, a feeling he never had before... Dread.

COPG: No limitations!

(Elpis)

"I thought I had to limit myself to the confines of Earthrealm. After all, I was born a goddess on Earth. I was born shielded from my true potential and from the truth of the universe. I thought I had to limit myself and meet the expectations of people who didn't really care for me and who feared my true power. Not anymore. I won't limit myself to making mediocre people feel more comfortable. I won't limit myself to please anyone. I will be myself. ONE of ONE!"

COPG: life and Death of Ishtar: Dreams and nightmares

COPG: life and Death of Ishtar: Dreams and nightmares

// Welp... Ishtar wanted to speak, so I let him :p

xxxx

Ishtar resumed walking among mortals, part of his heart wanted to find Elpis and reason with her. He wanted her to come back home and join forces against Pride. Ayasha informed him of the victory of the sins Lust and Pride over the rest of their siblings and their current affairs with the Greek Pantheon. He knew that it would only be a matter of time before Pride, Lust, and his sister would raid the Primordial Garden and he refused to accept that she couldn't be reasoned with.  It was clear that she had become more powerful since she was set free. He only felt her once, but her surge of power was so intense that nobody could have missed her. Ishtar realized that she discovered her true potential and was tapping into it, empowering herself to levels rivaling those of Gaea.  Ayasha told him that she had received the visit of a black butterfly on the day their brother died and she was scared of receiving another visit. What would she do? who would die? she refused to know and she was spending her days locked in her room.

He wished he could talk to her and convince her to follow him instead of staying with the Sin. What could possibly bring Pride to the goddess??? He was unable to feel anything and Elpis was a goddess who felt deeply. She needed someone to love her, to worship her, to make her feel like she was the only goddess in the whole universe. Pride made her believe things that were not true. He probably promised her things he wouldn't be able to give Elpis and she would end up disappointed. His obsession with Elpis didn't stop, not even after he made up with Ayasha, not even after Gaea rejected his last offer. Elpis was still in his mind. He didn't know how she looked like today, he had not felt her presence in millennia nor heard her voice so he could only rely on his memories of his sister. They overwhelmed him. They haunted him and he couldn't escape those. He couldn't escape his own desires and was wondering if he didn't end up being the one cursed by the knife. He couldn't kill Elpis and perhaps, that was the reason for the dreams and nightmares.

Elpis, the most beautiful creature of the universe, with her sensual voice that whispered in his ear. Elpis, with her generous curves that drove him wild, even now. He was craving her, even now. He wanted her soft voice, her warmth and the soft curves of her body against his strong hands. He wanted to hear her moan, submit to his will and desires. It was driving him mad to know that he could never have her because someone else had claimed her before. It was driving him mad to hear her taunt him, haunt him and remind him of what he had lost because he had betrayed her. Why did he do something so stupid? Killing his father hasn't bothered the god, but betraying Elpis made him feel cursed. He was in love with her but obsessed would probably be more accurate. He was "in love" with her and couldn't reconcile what he did with what he wanted.  So walking among humans helped him find the comfort he couldn't get from Ayasha. At least, among them, he felt at home.

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and death of Ishtar: Last call

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and death of Ishtar:  Last call

A/N: My All-Father spoke, so I had to let him speak.

xxx

Gaea was staring at her son, her eyes looked at him from head to toe before she shrugged her shoulders. She had made her peace with what happened, the fact she was blinded by her love for mankind so much that she didn't notice the plan fomented by her children. She had made her peace yet was still upset at her son for what he did. It wasn't so much about the death f her husband than the fact it disturbed her peace. It wasn't so much about the destruction of their pantheon than the fact they awakened her daughter. Elpis was anew. She was unleashed, and her wrath would lead to drastic changes, the kind that even the current All-mother couldn't dream about. Could she stop Elpis? Maybe she could if her connection to Life and nature was at its peak. Perhaps she couldn't if Elpis bested her. Uncertainty was definitely something the All-mother hated above all, and she didn't appreciate the fact that her daughter could eventually come after her.

"Why am I here?" -He lifted a brow and started to laugh at his mother's question. How could she ask him the reason of his visit when it had been made clear that they were at war with Elpis and Pride?-

"You heard me well." -She said, allowing both hands to rest on her waist- "I won't repeat myself, Ishtar. I don't see why you would give yourself the trouble to find me when I made it clear that I didn't want to be found."

"Salty as ever..." -He shrugged his shoulders and crossed his arms above his chest. He recognized his mother's stubborn spirit and her refusal to give the impression she was weak, afraid of anything that could cause a dent in her perfect image.- "I heard you well the first time you rejected me. Ayasha heard it well when you rejected her. However, I chose to be magnanimous and offer you a Last call."

"Should I be grateful you came down on Earth to save me from my daughter?" -She sneered and ran a hand over her face, to mark her exasperation.- "Ayasha came to me, pretending to know how afraid I was of my own flesh and blood. I do not fear Elpis and I would certainly not benefit from having you near me."

Ishtar realized that his mother didn't trust them. She couldn't shake that feeling off of her, because both his sister and he betrayed their father, and Elpis killed the former and cursed the latter. He speculated that the goddess feared they would try to steal her power, rather than use her for protection and assistance. He couldn't blame her, mostly because he didn't know what Ayasha had planned with their mother. She mentioned that it was important that their mother stayed with them at the primordial garden. Of course, they didn't want to give Elpis the opportunity to be the first to attack and steal the All-Mother power. That was a possibility. They believed it would be safer for all of them to stick together and protect each other rather than take the risk to lose everything because of a badly calculated move. Gaea believed that she was taking the risk to be killed by her daughter and having her power stolen by her in order to become more powerful and go toe to toe with her sister. She refused to be killed like her late husband was.

"You are paranoid. We wouldn't betray you."

"Why should I believe the word of someone who betrayed their own father and sister, uh? You /Killed/ Khaos. You killed your father and you stole his power!"

"yes I DID! and I am tired of being sorry for what I did. Father taught us we had to take what was ours no matter what. I considered that his throne and power were to be mine so I took them. Deal with it, mother. Fucking deal with it!"

"Here it is! The lie you tell yourself! Your father didn't want to die and he certainly didn't expect his children of all people, to go after him like you did! I cannot trust you. I can never trust you and  I won't follow you. You and I both know that you need me more than I do need you. You betrayed your sister, now deal with the consequences!" -She said, pointing away from her, so her son would take it as his cue to leave.-

"So... You are not going to come with me. If she comes to you after we're dead, remember this. We offered you our help and you chose to spit in our faces out of spite. You will reap what you sowed." -He said turning on his heels and leaving the place. $

Gaea exhaled and realized that she had been holding back her breath for far too long. Ishtar wasn't wrong when he said that she would be alone when her daughter would come to her. It was a risk to take, the risk to be killed by an empowered goddess. It only took her a brief minute, a moment where she wasn't careful and exposed herself for the world to see and feel her presence. It took only a minute, but it was the most terrifying minute for the All-Mother. There was a chance Elpis might kill her, no.. a certainty that her days were numbered if her daughter came after her, hence her desire to ask for peace or at least a truce. Elpis was stubborn and there was a chance that she would not listen to her mother, but perhaps, if she played it well, the All-Mother could survive the ordeal. She just had to have faith. She just had to HOPE.

chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: Earth-walker

// Ishtar was making himself known. SO I had to let him speak

xxx

Ishtar couldn't bear to stay hidden in the Prime garden. Gaea hadn't responded to her children's invite and had not spoken to them since, so he decided to visit Earth. Ishtar didn't mind Earth, if anything he enjoyed the place for he was at his most powerful. War was a human thing. From the moment they were conceived, humans went to war. Their deaths were tributes to the god of war, and their blood was payment for the god's favors. Ishtar was the most comfortable among humans, but he couldn't hide his heartache while walking the mortal realm. He remembered the places he'd been with Elpis. He'd remembered the good moments spent with his sister. He remembered her smile, of all of her features, it was her smile he was missing the most, the way she was looking at him with her doe-eyes wide open. He remembered the warmth of her arms around his waist when she hugged him, the delicious smell of her hair that always made him want to put his nose in her massive pink curtain of locks. He missed Elpis. He missed the good old times, well, maybe not all of it, but he certainly missed his sister.

He was still plagued with the allucinations of both the Sin and his sister. They were taunting him at night, Pride with his devouring ambition and claim on his goddess, and with Elpis reminding Ishtar of his betrayal and twisting the knife of his denied romance with her. Any man would have been driven mad by such visions. Any man would have been forthing at the mouth with a strong desire of revenge or perhaps would be overwhelmed with guilt. Any man would have been.. but ishtar was no man. He was the  Primeval God of War. Passion, ambition and strong emotions fueled his anger for blood. His guilt motivated him more than he expected it to. Ishtar hated to feel his heart being broken in waves. His heartbreak fueled the urge to make it stop. Elpis would come, and their confrontation would lead to her death. She would be the one to die, regardless of the powers she might have. She would be the one to fall at the end of his blade and she would be the one to ask for forgiveness.

Her actions were foolish, self-centered and because she chose to love an abomination instead of him, Isthar believed that she had to be punished for it.  His ego swallowed his guilt, which ended up lingering as a daily reminder of what he had lost and what he could never recover. he chose to clear his mind by coming to the very place that could give him the upper-hand and curiously enough, some respite. His black eyes observed as humans were carelessly living their short lives. It was intriguing to see these creatures take offense for the slightest mistake or error of judgement. It was intriguing to see them make irrational decisions and start wars over something as petty and unpredictable as Love. Their lives were nothing in the eyes of the god, not even a blink of an eye, yet, they lived with such an intensity he couldn't pretend not to be able to feel it. He understood why his mother loved them so much and why his sister enjoyed going to the Mortal Realm.

There was a sense of peace. At least, his thoughts were more organized and he was able to focus on what he wanted to do here. He would influence humans for his own entertainment, provoke a war somewhere in the world just to calm his nerves, and he would look for his mother. Gaea knew Elpis was coming and she knew her daughter would kill her. There was no reason left for her to stay hidden on Earth. Elpis was in the same place, gaining strength and probably ready to attack her mother and they had no ways to know where she was or who she would strike first. The sensible idea would be to first attack their pantheon and then kill Gaea, but they could also do it the other way round. What if Gaea was killed first and Elpis took her powers? Ishtar knew that she was Hope and Light, but he also knew of her destructive powers. She wiped out the Sumerian Pantheon and she could easily wipe out their own pantheon, especially if she was powered up with Gaea's essence.

He had to find his mother, as fast as possible, and convince her to come with him to their pantheon. At least, with everyone at the same place, they could have a chance to kill Elpis and unmake the Sin. Yet, the last time he saw his mother, she was less than thrilled to welcome him, and she had her reasons. After all, Ishtar was the murderer of her husband. He was the one who stole the crown and his father's essence to become the new All-father. Ayasha might have planned everything, Ishtar executed her orders and that was something Gaea refused to forgive. It took him a while, several months before he was able to find his mother, but he finally did. She had moved again, this time she chose to stay in Siberia, among the Yukaghir people, an indigenous group living in the cold weather of the vast country. She was tending to the horses but felt the presence of her son.  Immediately, she turned around to face him and welcomed him with a cold voice.

"Why are you here?"

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: Purpose

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: Purpose

A/N: what can I say? when an animal is cornered, he fears. That's where he becomes dangerous.

xxxxxx

He could see her silhouette from afar. Figment of his imagination that tormented the primeval god of war, Elpis never left his side. No matter where he stood, she was always nearby. The weight of his guilt, the self-loathing he felt for the actions Ayasha forced upon him. The god of war didn't regret killing his father. It was something he was quite proud of after all and he desired the throne for himself after a while. He was even competing against his other brother, Leviathan, for the crown. What was eating him up alive was the betrayal upon Elpis. He could never get rid of his unspoken desire nor the guilt wrapped around his actions. She trusted him and he crushed her heart into pieces. He cursed her into a solitary life, erased her from the memories of mankind and weakened her. Perhaps the worst thing he ever did to her was to take her apart from her beloved. How could she forgive him? How could she give him a second chance after what he did? How could he get rid of the emotions he felt for her?

Yet, It wasn't what drove him on Earth that day. He needed to leave the Primeval gods realm in order to find peace among those who didn't rest. He had to gorge himself out of the worship humans gave him and their unquenchable thirst for war and conflicts. He came to find some peace of mind, a reassurance of his power and the odds he had at beating Pride. The hallucination he had of his sister was always followed with a shadow. The only thing he knew about the Sin was his purple hues and since he had no idea of what he looked like, all he could imagine was a human shape made of smoke with purple eyes. He hated Pride. He hated him with all his heart. He hated him not just because he was an abomination made by the Greek god of Death. No! He didn't even hate him because he was a weapon designed to subjugate and defeat gods. He hated him because he took Elpis away from him. He stole her heart! he stole her love! he made it so that nothing was left for him.

He hated him for that, perhaps even more than he hated him for the death of Leviathan. A sin was able to kill another god. It was impossible to fathom for the god of war. How could that be? Yes, of course, getting rid of the greek pantheon was supposedly easy. why wouldn't it be? The sins were designed by one of these gods and they were meant to be weapons. He never considered them to be threats because he assumed they wouldn't be able to evolve or be better than the Primeval gods. He imagined they would be limited and that crushing them would be a piece of cake. How mistaken he had been! They had been reckless and because of that, Leviathan was dead. The death of his brother brought a new string of concerns for the New All-Father. They had the power to destroy Primeval gods! They were able to bring the end of the Primeval Gods pantheon. What happened when gods died? where did they go? Gaea never told her children what would become of them but he suspected that Oblivion was the destination.

Did he want to die?

Did he want to disappear?

Of course not!

But what could he do about it? what could he do? Ishtar let his black eyes stare at the oblivious humans who were enjoying their puny lives. They were talking, drinking coffee and buzzing around in a desperate search for the meaning of their existence. Humans lived short lives and for the god who was immortal, it seemed like a blink of an eye. It was insignificant. They were insignificant! Yet, they spent their whole lives, looking for the meaning of it. For a purpose. That was a luxury the Primeval gods never needed. They were born with a purpose. Ishtar was. He was the God of War and now he was the All-Father! His purpose was to rule everything! to decide for everything and to bring forth new lives and new beginnings or end them with a flick of his finger. His purpose was....what was it? Ishtar couldn't help but feel as if everything had lost meaning. He could have enjoyed being the god of war for the entirety of his existence and yet, yet he chased after something bigger, something better. He could have been his own person and yet he became a puppet. He could have...He could have...

But he didn't and he lost everything.

So what was left for him to do?

Destroy the Sin, overcome his growing fear of Death and face him. Yes...Face him.

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: Regrets

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: Regrets

A/N : Ah, Ishtar and his complicated feelings. We'd think he'd move on but he clearly is stuck there.

Xxxxxxx

Ayasha wasn't the only one who couldn't find Elpis and the Sin no matter how hard they were trying to. Ishtar had been looking for his enemies, using all the resources available to him but even with his immense power, the New All-Father couldn't find his sister. She always escaped him no matter what he did. It infuriated him, not just because he couldn't find Elpis, but because he couldn't forget about her. Her ghost followed him wherever he went, and hallucinations of her took over at night when he was the most vulnerable to his own desires. The shape of her frame, the illusory warmth of her body, the soft pink locks, and the ebony skin all came back to his mind, taunting him in his dreams and tortured him when he was awake. He could never forgive himself for his betrayal.

She could never let him breathe, no matter what he did. He tried to kill her twice in his mind, ensuring that she would no longer haunt him but it was to no avail. Always, did her spirit come back to him, mocking him for having dreamed of being hers, taunting him for killing her for good when they would meet on the battlefield. He dreaded that instant when he would face her again. He knew that his betrayal broke her spirit free from the mental conditioning his whole family participated in. She no longer was the innocent lamb with the untapped power that could put any of them to shame. She no longer was the obedient little goddess who was willing to go with her older brother on battlefields to influence men. She no longer was his little sister, his pink flame, his adored one, and the one he wished to lace his destiny with. The last part always stung because he knew she would never choose him.

She never chose him. She always chose the Sin. He remembered the arguments, the desperate attempts at making her stop seeing this wretched abomination. He remembered the anguish he felt about her choosing another and the heartbreak of never being an option she'd choose from. He remembered the jealousy he felt and how it burned his soul. His heart and chest were always hurting, burning hard anytime he would lay his eyes on her because he would see another man. He would see another man put his hands on her, run his fingers through her pink locks, whisper in her ear that she was his, claiming her over and over and tainting her in doing so. He couldn't fathom the idea that someone else was her chosen one and even less that he would never be hers. She would never be his. Desperate and angry he drove that blade into her heart, sealing her fate, punishing her forever. Desperate and angry he drove her away from him for good. He regretted his choice, and he knew that he would have regretted it the same if not more should the blade have killed her for good. He harmed Elpis, the one he swore to never hurt. He hurt her because his selfish desires took over his brain. Things could still have been different, should he have been more patient.

Now he couldn't forget about her and he couldn't forgive himself.

The only choice was for him to keep moving forward.

And he would.

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: Motivation

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: Motivation

A/N: My poor Ishtar, so guilt-ridden. He spoke to me, so I gave him space.

xxxxx

The All-New-Father’s chambers, 11h15 pm, Primeval god’s pantheon:

Lonely, the New All-father was feeling lonely that night. Ishtar was laying on his bed, the fine drapes of his sheets were nonchalantly thrown upon his massive figure. His long black hair was cascading on his chest and the fresh air in the room had his skin covered in goosebumps. He watched the ceiling, only lightened by the moonlight and giving his room a blue tint and thought to himself that perhaps, adding a fresh company could warm up the cold atmosphere. His chambers were cold, despite the rich décor that surrounded him. His chambers were cold ever since Elpis betrayed them.

Nothing could have ever happened anyway. As far as he remembered, Elpis only bore fraternal feelings towards him, yet he still held onto the feeling to this day, hoping that somehow, someway, the goddess would see that her relationship with Pride was a dead-end and would come back to him. Love and desire prevented him from killing the love of his life but what good did it do to him? What did it bring Ishtar if not pain and misery? The Elpis he knew died on the day he stabbed her, cursing her into an eternal cycle of reincarnation. The sweet, soft and innocent creature he’d known had vanished from the moment he had betrayed her, and the brunet knew that nothing could fix their relationship.

Yet, he surprised himself with his hallucinations and constant daydreams about what could have been. Despite Ayasha and her (so-called) claims of falling in love with him, despite those carnal moments they both shared, nothing could compare to the illusions of the goddess of Hope and Light coming at him at any moment of the day, especially at night. On a night like this one, the sweet comfort felt by the presence of the pink-haired goddess was enough for the New All-Father. She was by his side, laid on her back and staring at the ceiling just like him. His black orbs set upon her and he watched her body, lit by the bright moonlight that made her skin glow.  He wanted to touch her, he wished for her to be real and real-enough she felt.  A soft chuckle crossed her plump lips and slowly she climbed on top of him, sitting her soft body on his lap. It elicited a moan from the god who quickly sat on the bed and rested against the wall.

“Elpis…” -He cupped her cheek and started to stroke the soft skin of hers. “I curse the day you met the Sin. I curse the day he took him away from me.”

“What are you talking about? I am right here, with you.” -Her voice, similar to the real goddess, almost to a fault. The line was blurred between reality and the illusion and for a brief second, the god thought it was her- “Perhaps you should focus on me instead of your curses.” She gave him a soft smile and slowly leaned into his warm palm. She pressed her lips to his skin and then went to his wrist. -

“You’re not real…. You…” -He paused for a minute- “would you have chosen me if I were to confess my true feelings for you before you met the Sin?” -His voice was filled with regret and his black orbs averted from her face to her chest. She was wearing little to nothing, the flimsy fabric of a pink nightgown covered her curves.  His eyes undressed her and then as a shiver possessed his spine, the god kept his hand on her neck, holding her firmly in place. She didn’t escape him.

“I would have, and deep down, I think you know that brother-mine. /I/ was the closest to you. We always were together, working hand in hand on battlefields. I would have been yours if you’d claimed me when you had the chance to.”  -The words he wished she had told him still hurt like knives. Listening to the goddess made him groan in pain, for he knew those weren’t really her words but his-

“I knew it. You wanted to be with me and I didn’t let you.” He started to whine and blame himself for this lie he’s been feeding his mind. He had no idea if whether or not she would have been with him – no he knew she wouldn’t have chosen him- but he still liked to imagine things to be the way he wished them to be.

“Why do you always complain when you see me?” The illusion asked, much to the shock of the New All-Father. “Don’t look at me with such a surprised look. Whenever I am here, it is always for moping and crying.”

“I still feel guilty over what I did to you, Elpis.” -He admitted, while his other hand slid underneath her nightgown. She grabbed him by the neck, squeezing it tightly while her eyes turned into golden pools.-

“Pathetic.” -She whispered to him while her hips started to rock against his lap. It elicited a groan from the god as he felt a shiver run down his spine. -

How many times had he dreamed of this? Of his sister riding him and taking him deep into her wet and warm cunt? How many times had he wished he could mate with his sibling? Flashes of their passionate romp filled his dreams, the sound of her voice saying un-holy words in his ear as he fucked her hard. How many times did he imagine her fingers sink into the hard skin of his shoulders, only to leave a trail of blood as she would scratch him until he bled? He would have been tender, loving, enjoying the softness and roundness of her curves while his lips would taste the delicate skin of her neck. He would have been a savage and would have fucked her into numbness. He would see her sweaty glistening body glow under the moonlight and the smile on her face. Oh, the smile, that smile... A sudden rush of adrenaline and arousal took over him and he grabbed the illusion’s neck back, forcing her to drop her arms on each side of her body and still look at him with a judgmental gaze.

“Not so insulting now, are you?” -He quipped, a grin on his lips-

“Finally! you cut the gentle brother’s act. You spent millennia wailing on your own for the loss of me, torturing yourself because you cursed me and took away your last chance at ever being loved by me. You’re here today, still overwhelmed with guilt and lust for me, dreading the day you would have to fight me.”

“Enough!” -Her words hurt even more. He refused to admit to himself that he dreaded the day Elpis and the Sin would come to the pantheon. -

“You dread the moment you will see me again because instead of lust and love in my eyes, you will read disgust and contempt. You will read hatred. you will read your end.”

“Enough!” -His voice boomed all over the place, making the walls shake as his red aura slowly spread across the room. -

The illusion vanished and Ishtar was left on his own in the cold room of the royal chambers.  His breathing was laboured, his chest heaved up and down slowly and he looked at the emptiness before him. Just a minute ago there had been Elpis in his room, the only time she’s ever been there. Just a minute ago she was riding him, teasing the god with her sensuality and then hurting him with her venom. He knew it was his own conscience that was talking through the illusion. It was his own heart that thought so little of him, his own mind that wanted him to get his comeuppance. Could it be that guilt had nested into his heart?

He stood up and flicked his wrist. A red energy coming from him spread across the room and destroyed some of the furniture inside. As the wooden night desk crumbled into small pieces, Ishtar stood up in a hurry. His long black locks cascaded on his back, the sheet fell onto the floor and the god, in all of his glory, stood with his hands curled into fists. It had to stop, the illusions, the guilt, the love. It had to stop and in order to make this happen, the New All-Father would have to kill Elpis with his own bare hands, but could he?

Chronicles of the primaeval gods: Life and death of Ishtar; Re-connection

Chronicles of the primaeval gods: Life and death of Ishtar; Re-connection

A/N: My god of war was talking, so I indulged him.

Xxx

“Brother-mine.”

Ayasha’s sweet voice pierced through the silence that had settled around the New All-father. Ishtar shrugged when he heard her, his body still tense at the sound of her voice. He had time to think of what his late brother and rival, Leviathan, had told him about his sister’s devouring ambition. Ayasha had always wanted to be seen by the universe. She had always wanted their father to notice her and consider her strength to be important, at least as important as brute strength demonstrated by her siblings. Ishtar did notice that his father, Khaos, only respected the destructive raw power of his strongest children. All her life, he was dismissive of her true potential and she slowly grew frustrated with this situation.

Ishtar didn’t need to be a genius to understand that Elpis’ birth was the catalysis of the goddess’ anger. He concluded that it was the lack of love from their father that both drove Ayasha to some extreme and facilitated her manipulation over Ishtar. The god of war had always wanted his parents love and got none of it. It wasn’t difficult for Ayasha to talk him into killing their father and becoming something better. Only “Ishtar” could become the new all-father, only he would know what to do and how to rule better than his father did. Only /he/ would be able to save them.  It wasn’t difficult to serenade the god and soothe his aching heart by painting Elpis as a traitorous demon.

“Ayasha… I didn’t think you’d dare come around me again.” -He sternly welcomed her. -

Ishtar still hadn’t come to terms with the truth. He still hadn’t come to terms with the rejection of his mother of his attempt at being forgiven by her. He still hadn't come to terms with the death of his brother at the hands of the Sin nor did he accept the fact his sister kept choosing Pride. Despite the 2000 years spent locked inside humans, unable to use her godly powers, unable to be remembered, she still wanted the sin. She still chose the punishment yet never stopped fighting. Ishtar was still in love with her, so much so that he didn’t know how to shake those feelings off of his heart. Why couldn’t he just stop loving Elpis? Why was it hurting him still? Why was he still jealous of the sin? So many questions he couldn’t answer. So many…

He still didn’t fully understand what was going on with Ayasha nor what her true motivations were. What he viewed as a petty desire to be noticed, hid a far stronger desire. He, like his father, was underestimating her, only taking a brief look at the surface rather than having a good hard look inside of her. Ayasha wanted to rule over the universe. She wanted to get rid of her rivals, including him but was far smarter than any of them. Ishtar was blinded by her wits and schemes and was unable to see the snake getting ready to bite his foot. Perhaps that was the tragedy of the god, to always be played, to always lose. Perhaps.

“I am the bearer of good news, Ishtar.”

“How so?” He tilted his head to set his eyes on her. She was standing tall, triumphant almost with the hands on her waist.

“I have spoken with my mother.” He curbed a brow, and the atmosphere became heavier all of a sudden as the pressure in the air became more intense. “You heard me well, I went to mother.”

“Why?” -Was all he could articulate. He clenched his jaw and tightened his grip on his sceptre.

“We need an ally. I cannot find Elpis because of sin’s ancient magic. Hades truly worked his ass off and was able to create absolute monsters. Nevertheless, Mother can locate her so I went to see her.”

“And… did you manage to get anything else but scorn from Mother?” He mused, his lips finally lifting up to form a smirk. Ayasha rolled her eyes and yanked her head back, allowing her blonde locks to cascade on her back and tease her tight small ass.

“Who do you think I am, brother-mine? She’s not here with us now, but I will soon reap what I sowed into her mind. She was hiding in the Philippines, pretending to care for those meat-suits when all she’s ever wanted was to be revered and worshipped.”

“What are you talking about?”- His voice boomed through the empty walls of his chambers. It sent a shiver down the spine of the goddess who shook her head and crossed her arms above her chest. She wasn’t impressed with his tantrums anymore and refused to bow down in fear, despite the shiver that went down her spine. –

“You know what I am saying.” She rubbed the bridge of her nose and walked closer to his strong frame. “ Mother was living a lie, this whole time. She refused to see the truth about herself, so I forced her to address it.”

She said, closing the space between the two gods. Ishtar grunted but didn’t answer her. He didn’t want to hear from her, nor did he want to listen to her words. Ayasha knew how to capture the attention of her audience and convince them with her silky words. The black-locked God knew that if he ever listened to her, he wouldn’t be able to keep his resolve safe. She would find a way to get into his mind and make him forgive her. Ishtar was still salty towards Ayasha and wanted to remain angry and sharp.

“I see. So you finally grew tired of playing games with me and chose to bother, Mother.”

“Ouch, now you’re being salty Ishtar! I told you, we need an ally. Mother is powerful and I simply wanted her to admit the truth, once in her life. She craves power, she craves recognition and she fears Elpis’ wrath. Why do you think she’s been hiding for so long?”

“Go on?...”

And that was all she needed to capture his attention. He was willing to listen to her and she finally had the opportunity to reverse the situation and finally be able to control him. Somehow, to know that his mother was flawed and wasn’t as good as she pretended, she was talked to him and softened his hardened exterior. He was angry, he was aroused. He was intrigued, he was aroused. As she talked to him and told him what happened with their mother, the god of war mellowed towards her. He turned around to face her and cut her short with a searing kiss, the first of many he intended to give her that night. If her plan worked, and their mother joined them, it would have been a most welcome victory for him and a chance he waited for to finally get more from his mother than cold indifference. Perhaps, perhaps….

Chronicles of the Primeval gods: THE CHESS GAME PART III (recap)

Chronicles of the Primeval gods: THE CHESS GAME PART III (recap)

A/N : I wrote the last recap in 2019, now it's time to explain what happened since then.

Xxxxxx

What was going on? Ayasha realized she had lost control over Ishtar since Leviathan's death. Of course, the late god of the oceans planted the seed of rebellion in the mind of her brother, making it more and more difficult for her to manipulate him. Ishtar was what he was, difficult, violent, impulsive but he wasn't stupid. Once the light was shone upon the situation he was in, the truth started to prevail. He became distant with Ayasha, more commanding with her. He left her no window to manœuvre and manipulate him, which became frustrating.

Her loss of control induced a level of fear and anxiety unknown to the goddess. No matter what, she couldn't shake her fear off of her mind. Elpis was alive and well, and she still couldn't locate her. She still couldn't find her due to the sin's ancient spell, which only fueled Ishtar's anger and Ayasha's fear. They could strike at any moment now. Of course, the New All-Father rang the bells of war and was now preparing the remaining gods for the upcoming battle against Superbia and Elpis. Ayasha was still searching for a weapon or an artifact capable of unmaking Pride and had requested her brother to forge her a god-killing weapon so she could be even with Elpis.

Ishtar, while determined to destroy his sister and the sin once and for all, was having second thoughts. As usual, he was tormented by his guilt and the twisted love he felt for his sister. He had tried to seek his mother's support but she rejected him, still resentful for the death of the All-Father Khaos. The god of war knew that his hesitation to kill Elpis might come back during the last battle and was now trying to overcome his feelings for her. After all, she did betray the primeval gods by giving herself to a Sin. She betrayed her family, she betrayed him. He should have killed her 2000 years ago but he swore to fix his mistake, no matter how torn his heart would be afterward.

Ayasha, however, wasn't truly convinced that her brother would succeed in killing Elpis. She decided to foment a plan B, just in case the first battle wouldn't work. Still being blinded by the Sin, she wasn't able to see the truth of his relationship with Elpis but could speculate that they were getting along right now. However, should a third element be introduced to the pair, the probability of chaos was higher than usual because Elpis was known to be very jealous? Asma became obvious to the primeval goddess. Asma was the last host, the only host to have met Pride, and to have elicited emotions from him. She didn't die and was still very much roaming the Earth, so that meant Pride had a soft spot for the human.

The goddess of knowledge befriended the human in the following months. She decided to play it slow, make sure that Asma was visible enough for them to hear the news of her life in danger. She wanted to kill the doppelganger, or eventually put her in such a dire situation that the Sin would come to her rescue. Elpis would not accept to share her sin with someone else, regardless of what they did to help her and they would argue and destroy each other, or perhaps the sin would kill Elpis and Ayasha, who would have been ready to unmake him, would simply have to unmake Pride. The victory was ensured...Still.. this plan was flawed and there were far too many dead angles that Ayasha decided it would be safer to see their mother.

So Gaea was visited once again by the blonde goddess of knowledge. They clashed, as much verbally as their powers started to leak and influence the mortal realm. Yet, for the first time in eons, Ayasha finally pierced through the thick armor of her mother. As she exposed Gaea's true nature, the All-mother dismissed her, unable to accept that she wasn't as pure as she wanted to present herself. Gaea was scared of Elpis, she always had been. From her birth to this day, the All-mother knew her daughter had a terrifying power within her. She was, after all, the product of true love between Chaos and Gaea. A child who was  capable of both creation and destruction on a universal level. The other siblings were tasked with a singular mission. They were to contain her in a bubble, they were to manipulate her into submission and ensure she wouldn't tap into her true power. Of course, most didn't realize it was the mission but Ayasha figured it out rather quickly.

Gaea was scared because she kept having visions of her daughter taking her crown, unlocking her true potential, and punishing her for allowing Ishtar to stab her. Since the All-mother was plagued with nightmares, she was now considering cutting the « neutral act » and actively working against her daughter. Yet again, it wasn't certain. All that was, was that Elpis was now stronger by the minute, recovering from the energy depletion caused by the curse and discovering her new powers with Superbia. They were enjoying each other's presence while walking the Earth but Elpis was becoming more and more impatient with her revenge and more and more ambitious as well. Why stop at Earth when they could rule the universe? She requested Pride with forging her a god-killing weapon so she could be a worthy ally and partner when they launch the assault on the Primeval gods' pantheon.

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: His Light.

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life and Death of Ishtar: His Light.

A/N: That filthy bastard spoke to me this morning, so I had to indulge him. I very much love his doubting heart, the simple jealousy he feels towards the Sin and his desire to both kill his sister and claim her. What a complicated twat.

Xxxxxxxxxxxx

Ishtar walked the mortal realm. After such a long while spent at the Primeval God's realm, he needed to clear his mind. He was boiling with rage ever since Leviathan died. The very truth of his last words resonated with the New-All-Father who reacted in kind. Ayasha was manipulating him, wasn't she? While it all made sense and he had rejected her, accordingly, Ishtar still felt uneased about his decisions. Ayasha could be a very good liar, but for how long could she live in such a lie? He couldn't have been blinded by his own emotions not to see that Ayasha was trying to use him? Was he this gullible? He, who was War incarnate? War went beyond Death. It wasn't just about killing the enemies and winning. It wasn't just about the debauchery of slaughters that made War what it was. No. War was about anticipating, it was about planning and studying your enemies. It was about knowing your strengths and weakness and plan accordingly. It was about being smarter than your opponents and at the very least, be able to guess their next move. War, was exactly like playing chess. Ishtar might not know the rules of that human game, he might have never cared for it, but he knew how to lead a war and how to win it.

What his brother did, was trying to manipulate him one last time. Leviathan had a knack at getting into other people's heads and he surely succeeded one last time with his younger brother. Ishtar pushed away from the only true ally he ever had since he killed their father and the only one who was truly knowledgeable. She was smart, beautiful and cunning. Why did he push her away? She claimed to be in love with him from the very beginning and when they made love, he did feel she meant her words. Why would she moan his name with such passion if it wasn't the truth? Why would she keep seeking contact with him if she didn't love him? His mind was scrambled with doubt, so much so, he decided to go on Earth and forget his realm for a minute. His heart was restless, mostly because he knew that he had not come to terms with his love for Elpis. Each passing day was a torture for him because he could remember her clearly now. Her scent, the soft laugh she would let out when she saw him, the warmth of her body when she pressed it against him. He could remember the scent of her hair, or how tight she held onto him when she was scared, or how free she felt when she walked the battlefield and let her powers influence humans. She made his heartbeat louder, faster and stronger. She made him smile when he woke up because he knew he'd get to spend some time with her. She still did.

At the mere thought of his beloved sister, his heart was aching. Losing her to the Sin had to be the worst day he ever had. When she claimed she loved another, the light she shone upon him disappeared. Why did she cast her light onto someone else? Why did she want to belong to someone else? She was his... she was /HIS/ and he wouldn't have had it otherwise. He looked at his murderous hands, those very hands that betrayed his sister and stabbed her in her heart because of jealousy. He envied the Sin. He hated the Sin. He wanted to be him. He wanted to have what he lacked and what attracted Elpis. He wanted to be the one she looked at with loving eyes. He wanted to be the name she whispered when she lost herself to pleasure. He wanted to be the comforting strong arms she could cuddle to when she was scared and needed comfort. He could have been if he had not stabbed her with that knife. He knew that on that very day, it was anger and jealousy that drove his hand. It was the way she so adamantly loved someone else that made him jealous. It was the way she rejected him that hurt his ego, made him see red, made him stab her. She was his and yet she didn't want to be. Now, the New All-Father had ruined his chance to be with her one day. She could never forget the betrayal, the pain, the fact he destroyed her future with Pride and because she wouldn't, she could never love him.

It made his hands shake and his heart heavy. Ambition had never quite been what he had. Ishtar was perfectly fine with the life he led. Now that he went too far, he couldn't have the audacity to wish for things to go back to how they once were. He couldn't ask for time to reset and for him to have a second chance. His heart was yearning for a second chance, for the possibility to see Elpis again. Perhaps, he would learn to accept the fact she would never choose him and perhaps, if he did, he would still be able to be visited by her. He could have had it all...instead of nothing. As he looked past the window of his car, he realized that he felt alone. Always had. Always will... even with Ayasha by his side. Elpis' light was the only thing that helped him forget his loneliness. With her, he wasn't alone. With her there always was a soothing presence, a warmth he could no longer find and the realization had him cover his face with his left hand. He was alone....and perhaps that was the worst punishment he could ever have. But his soul was boiling and since anger was filling his cold lonely jealousy heart, then he could as well reconcile with Ayasha. They both were miserable, weren't they? Well, this time they would be miserable together.

He had to make amends for his old ways and make sure the goddess realized he wanted to apologize for the way he treated her. He would take care of it, later, when his guilt and sadness would be expurged from his system when nothing but anger and blood-lust filled his veins.. when nothing but shame and regret drove him to the next fight....to his Fate.

Chronicles of the primeval gods: life and Death of Ishtar: Jealousy

Chronicles of the primeval gods: life and Death of Ishtar: The burden of the crown.

Xxxxx

The king is dead, long live the king! Khaos was dead and had been for a few thousand years now. Ishtar took advantage of Khaos mourning for Elpis' death to attack him when he least expected it. Ayasha convinced the god of war to challenge their father. She convinced him Khaos was unfit to lead the primeval gods and Isthar executed her order. Killing his father didn't shock him as he believed it would. Khaos was a threat to his children, his bias towards Elpis was so much that he endangered his children. After all, it was justified. He was going to allow Elpis to pursue her relationship with sin. He was going to allow Death at the doors of their pantheon. Ishtar couldn't let him. So he killed his own father and crowned himself instead.  Elpis was punished, wasn't she? A life spent in a never-ending reincarnation cycle was punishment enough. He couldn't kill her. No matter how pressed Ayasha was about killing their baby sister, he could never have ended her life. It wasn't rocketed science as to why he wouldn't. Ishtar was in love with her. With the sweet and obedient goddess, he used to know.  His love for her blinded the god, even today, as he considered his future and the plans he had for the primeval pantheon and the sins.  Elpis had always haunted his thoughts. From the moment she became nubile to the moment she matured into the full-fledged goddess of Hope, her perfect features were on his mind. Ishtar desired her, but unlike Leviathan, he actually had genuine feelings towards his sister. He wanted to make her happy, to make her feel safe with him. The obvious chemistry they had when they worked together was a testimony that they were meant to be together. She knew he cared for her, she felt his desire for her and Elpis knew he would do anything he could to protect her from harm. He did so when Leviathan tried to force himself on her, he did so when other lesser gods tried to hurt her. But she betrayed him when she fell in love with Pride. She fell for a sin! An abomination created by an ambitious leader God so he could destroy Zeus. To add insult to the Injury she caused him, she fell in love with it. She gave her love to it. She denied Isthar the love that was promised to him. That's why it was hurting him to the point he decided to separate them. That's why he let Ayasha convince him he had to punish Elpis. That's why his blood was boiling since Pride set her free.

Jealousy.... envy... those emotions were tormenting him. He didn't care that it was a Sin. He cared that she loved that Sin. Someone else but him. He couldn't keep his anger in check at the thought they were entangled together in a passionate embrace. It sickened him to hear her claim her love for the sin as they would be cuddling together or making love. Isthar was supposed to be the one to see her face contort with pleasure as he would explore her. He wanted to have his hands tangled into her pink locks and his lips wrapped around her neck. he wanted to be the name she would scream as Passion would make her whole body shake. he wanted so many things from his sisters, things he knew he wouldn't have because of the Sin. Pride took her from him. He took her innocence, her heart, and her very soul. She was so in love with him that she sacrificed her life for him. why couldn't she love Isthar? what was with that Sin that she couldn't find with the god of War? He clenched his fists, his jaw tightened as anger overwhelmed him.  Pride was nothing, if not an empty shell used by Hades to conquer the world. He was trying to pretend he had feelings, ambitions, a strong will, but he was just a puppet and he was done insulting the New All-Father. The tall and handsome brunet stood up and adjusted his tie and suit. He glanced around him, at the mere mortals who weren't aware of his divine presence among them and grinned as they started to feel angry and acted on this anger. Violence exploded all around him, and people who would have been peaceful otherwise started to fight each other. As violence escalated, the god walked away, satisfied by the sight as it appeased his mind. The truth was, he still considered the words uttered by Leviathan before he died at the hands of the Sin. Ayasha was playing him, he was just a pawn at the mercy of the goddess of Knowledge's will. It didn't sit well with the god to whom the idea of being manipulated insulted him and his ego. It also implied that everything that happened from the moment Elpis fell in love with Pride and the moment he killed the All-Father was a horrible long con played by Ayasha, should it be real.

Jealousy... envy, those were the emotions that drove the King-of-them-all. He refused to admit that he wanted to be in the sin's shoes and have Elpis' love for himself. Why would hef all for something as petty as love? He refused to admit that the only reason he wanted to terminate the Sin was to claim his sister back. Pride didn't deserve her, he didn't deserve to have someone genuinely love him. He didn't deserve to be treated as someone instead of something. He wasn't a person, he had no soul. He was even less than the dirt Ishtar stepped onto. Elpis couldn't see it, but he would make her whether she wanted it or not. His eyes turned red from adrenaline as he found his new resolve. It had always been Elpis, from the very beginning, and she will be the reason he would be victorious again. He would take her back from that usurper. He would claim her again after he destroyed her raison- d'être in front of her.
