Supernatural questionnaire updated 02.09

A/N: After we first started the story in 2017, it was time to revisit this questionnaire with a couple fresh answers.

Xxxxxx

What about your character(s)? a brief summary of who they are and main personality traits.

Oya : African Hunter. One of the most prolific. Well-traveled, well-versed in African folkores and efficient at her job. Favourite weapons is a golden gun, a gift from her father's friend who raised her when her father died. She is very impulsive, sarcastic, she loves food and is working on her  anger-issues. She's a nerd with a foul mouth. She's also very loyal and strong-willed.

Sarah Thomas :  Oya's childhood friend and fellow hunter. She quit when she met her husband in order to start a family with him and has a set of twin girls. Recent events forced her to return to being  hunter for the sake of her family. She's sarcastic, loyal,  reliable, warm and light-hearted. She also loves her brother Joshua a lot and is very protective of him.

Joshua Thomas:  Oya's childhood friend and brother of Sarah. He used to be a very active hunter until a monster almost killed him and left him paralyzed from the waist-down. Joshua is still a hunter but he mostly works through the radio and contributes to the network. He is married and hopes to become a dad. He's a goofball, a kind and gentle giant who longs to return to the field.

What is your main character's relationship with the Winchester? How did they meet? Did they meet more than once?

Oya  met the Winchester when she was held captive by a nest of vampires in America. Her brother, also an african vampire (Asambosam), fled to the US some years ago and took shelter there. In an attempt to end his life and avenge their mother, Oya was trapped and used as bloodstock for these vampires. She was found by Sam and Dean after they cleaned up the nest and was brought back to their bunker for safety purposes.Today she is married to Dean Winchester and is part of Team Free Will. She has very strong connections to her brothers (Sam and Castiel) and would give her life to save theirs (and Dean's) in a heartbeat. She is also aware he had children from a fling and had met with one of them (Kira).

What are your character's views on these characters: Castiel, Lucifer, Crowley

Castiel: She has learned to trust and love the angel. After a while, she realized that he wasn't like most angels. Oya thinks he's frustrating but she appreciates his attempt at doing good though. She trusts him a lot and will very often call for his help, especially when Sam would be in danger. They have a very deep brotherly bond.

Lucifer: She never encountered him but from what she heard, she doesn't trust him and fears him. Despite having been taught/learned about the abundant folklore of the African continent, she's been raised a Christian and very many fears the devil. Unlike Sam or Dean, Oya can't stand her ground against the fallen angel.

Crowley: Doesn't trust him at all, doesn't like him at all, doesn't want to deal with him at all BUT when they are forced to work together, she loves their banter. It's extremely entertaining for her and she can pass her frustration on him. He knows her very well, her very wishes and knows how to play her like a damn fiddle BUT she also knows how to fight back and get to him which gives birth to many interesting situations. She knows he's a backstabbing bitch but always manages to have back up plans to avenge herself after he's done mocking her.

Unexpected skills?: Oya is actually very well-versed in African Martial arts.

Favourite transportation mode? Bikes. She owns a Harley Davidson.

Favourite weapons? A golden gun, a carved Desert Eagle which belonged to her father.

Favourite Beer: German Beer of course!

Favourite Sport: Soccer

Favourite secret identity? Tina Turner ( she is her favorite singer).

Doya: Sam and Oya: Comfort

/// I miss these two idiots. So here you are, some siblings' shenanigans.

xxx

Sam was busy reading one of Oya's spellbooks. He had taken a liking to discover new cultures and since he was not well-versed in African spells and teratology, he wanted to learn. He looked at his phone and noticed that he had received a lovely text from Eilein, his girlfriend -could they even consider each other as such?-. He couldn't help but smile upon reading her name and did not notice Oya who snuck up on him and sat on the couch he was laying at. He groaned as the young woman pulled the book off of his hands and rolled his eyes as she gave him a sheepish look.

"What are you doing, Gremlin?" -She gently ran her hand over his arm.- "What??"

"I'm bothering you. Bookworm." -She giggled before her hazel eyes set upon the phone.- "Is that Eileen? Did she text you? Would you see her soon?"

"Oya. You're asking way too many questions." -She shrugged and crossed her arms above her chest. - "Don't sulk, please."

"I'm not sulking. I haven't seen you in a while so I was curious, Sammy." -She said, smiling warmly. The book was closed and put on her lap for the time being. - "I see you've been reading my spellbook. Anything nice in there?"

"You know I love learning new spells. There is plenty to learn here." -He smiled at her and gently patted her back.- "It's true we haven't seen each other in a while. I know you're busy working with my brother."

"That doesn't mean I can't have time for you, Sam. I have missed you. I have missed spending time with you and Castiel at the bunker."

"Work never stops, now, does it?" -He asked but it was a rhetorical question. There were always monsters to stop, demons and angels to stop, and sometimes humans as well. Earth was their playground and hunters were doing their best to save as many souls as they could. Oya shook her head and sucked on her bottom lip.- "O. Can I ask you a question?" -She nodded- "Okay... I just... I wanted to... How do you deal with hunting with Dean? Aren't you scared that something might happen to him?"

The question had the hunter freeze. She blinked several times and chewed at her bottom lip. As a matter of fact, Oya had been paranoid about losing Dean. She knew she would do anything to protect him and the rest of the family with all she had. So far, she had been the one who nearly died, twice and they always came to her rescue. Yet, Dean was known for striking deals with demons, pairing himself up with backstabbing bitches who would not hesitate to manipulate his desire to save his family and the world and use it against Dean. So, Oya took it upon herself to watch him, guide him, and comfort him when they were hunting together.  The young woman put her hand over her heart, feeling it beat faster than usual and she sighed deeply.

"I am always scared, Sammy. I've never realized how scared of losing him I was until I was attacked by Pluto."

"What makes you...keep hunting with him then?"

"Can the world exist without the sun?" -She replied with a grin and patted her heart with her warm palm.- "We both take the risk to die every single day when we step out of the bunker to work on a case. Death is part of Life and we cannot avoid it. We just have to live. I want to have as many memories as I can with him and I want him to have as many memories with me as possible. I want us to live, Sammy and I know that you want Eileen to live as well." -She gently smiled at him and leaned her cheek against her shoulders as she looked at the younger Winchester-

Sam blushed hard but shrugged as he looked at his phone. Oya had caught him red-handed. Of course, he was seeing Eileen but both were considering whether or not they should take their relationship to another level, and make it a serious one. Sam had lost a lot of people in his life, especially the ones he loved. Could he really take the risk to lose yet another lover? He loved Eileen and it seemed to be something far more intense and far more serious than his previous relationship. They were both kind souls who wanted to save as many people as possible. They had been through a lot, in ways that only Eileen could understand. Of course, she did not know about his time in Hell, the whole "true vessel of Lucifer" story but she knew how it felt to be different. She could relate to him in ways very few could. Besides, she was very appreciated by his brother and Oya almost gave her blessings to Sam. So what was holding him back?

"I don't think I could handle losing someone else. O. It's been difficult when we thought we were losing you. I don't think I could." -She cupped his cheek and stroked it gently. his eyes grew wide but he leaned into her touch. "O..."

"You will always care for her like you will always care for us. Whether you hunt with her or not, you will always worry for her. So that argument is a little moot, don't you think?" -He sighed but didn't reply- "Besides...I told you that I want us to live. Sam, you've been denying yourself the right to be happy for far too long. After all, you've been through, don't you think that it would be good for you to be loved and to have someone to love? Eileen is a good person, and you are a good person... Dean and I both love her so... what's holding you back?"

"I don't know. I don't want to hurt her and I don't want to lose her. I... I want to protect her but she can handle herself very well, so...I don't..."

"You can have her back. That's what you do. You have her back like Dean has mine. He trusts me. He believes in me and more importantly, we look after each other. The same fear that Dean carries in his heart, I carry with me, so of course, I would always be careful when he's around. There is... something I can't quite describe when you live and work with someone who does the same job as you. It's freeing, Sammy. It's freeing to be with someone who can understand you. Don't run away from Love. Don't...run away from Life." -She repeated while she stroked his cheek with her thumb one last time before she removed her hand and put it back on her lap-

Sam listened to her words and strangely enough, found comfort in them. Oya was right. They had to live their lives. As the younger Winchester was considering Oya's words, he realized that he had been sacrificing himself most of his life. He didn't have a normal childhood, and he couldn't have normal relationships because the women he loved ended up dying. Sam wanted to have a family. He wanted to find a companion who could understand and respect his line of work, someone who would know what it was to be devoted to the work and who wouldn't ask him to choose between a white-picket-fenced life and the life of a hunter. He smiled at Oya and gave her his most sheepish smile.

"You're right. I will write back to her. She's been asking me to hunt with her but I have always pushed it back. I really want it to work, you know? I want to have what you and Dean have. I've never seen my brother happy like this before and yet since he's met you, he is himself. Since he met you... He is happy. I want the same." -She nodded and crossed her legs together.-

"You deserve this and even more, Sammy.... remember, you're never alone and if you need support, you can always text me or give me a call." -She grinned widely and giggled.- "I can't believe I've just suggested becoming your wingman, but I totally wanna be your wingman now."

"Get outta there!" -Sammy was now red, blushing hard as the prospect of having a wingman, especially Oya was making him feel like a teenager again. "I know how to flirt. but.... I'll make sure to talk to you if I need anything. I promise."

Oya smiled at him and gently nestled on the couch next to him. She opened the spellbook and pointed at her favorite spell. They talked about magic for a while, then she encouraged him to write to Eileen before the hunter fell asleep next to Sam. He looked at her as her breathing became steady and her features relaxed.  She really was cute when she was sleeping. He called Dean to come and pick up his girl because he couldn't move from the couch and then resumed reading the book. The conversation they just had made Sam feel warm inside. Oya never let up. It was only fair for him to expect her to keep pushing until he was convinced to text that woman. He couldn't be mad at Oya, he just couldn't.

Doya: Charlie and you.

 Doya: Charlie and you.

// This is from Sam's pov. I haven't written him in a while. He adores Oya and he's always seen her as a sister to him. Of course, he loves to calls her "gremlin" just like she loves to call him "bookworm". He's reflecting on how important she is to him and to team free will. This is something he would tell her but only if he's pressed about it, which is the circumstance of this little monologue.

xxxx

"I have sworn to never get close to someone after Charlie... I promised myself to never let anyone become family to me. I was fine with team free Will. we were enough for each other, or so I thought. I was still reeling from Charlie's death and I refused to grieve for her. Charlie was... She was a sister to me, O. She was my little sister. She went from being a nerd, scared of everything into a total badass. I never really, I mean, I got to tell her that I love her, right? But I never got to tell her just how much I did. I still don't know how to process her loss to this day but I can already see her kick my ass and ask me to move forward. She wanted us to live, Dean, Castiel, and I. She wanted us to enjoy our lives and until her death, we were in such a dark place, that we didn't understand what she meant. We thought we couldn't have our cake and eat it too. You know?

Charlie would have loved you. She probably would have had a crush on you because she loved badass women and you're badass. Charlie would have loved to see Dean with you. I love to see him with you. He is happy. He's smiling. He's laughing. He has a reason to keep going. You just. Ah! When we hunt together, he only talks about you. What you'd like to eat, how you'd react to something we see... He's always thinking about you and it's good to see. He's not worried, well, not anymore since you recovered from Pluto's attack. I love to see it, to see my big brother happy and... and I love to be happy myself. Yeah. I mean... you do make me happy O. I wasn't expecting you, I didn't see you coming. I just, well, we just met and we just clicked, and... you started to hang out with us.

What's my point? Well... My point is, I didn't want to have another sister, but life is a bitch and she does whatever she pleases. You came into my life, you became my sister without me realizing it. I let you in, it was easy to let you in. You're funny. you're sweet. you're too much sometimes but I like it. You have a temper in you. You pulled no fucking punches on Dean or me... or Castiel at the beginning. I was afraid you would not get used to having an angel as family, but you overcame your issues with angels, at least, with him. You welcomed him, you both made amends and it's great to see. You understand and you always find those words we can't say. You always seem to know how we feel and what could make us feel better. I got used to you. That's it. I got used to you. You're my sister, Oya. I love you so much and I don't want to miss the opportunity to tell you that now. I love you. , you're my sister, and even if nothing has been made official. You are my sister."

Doya: Healers

Doya: Healers

//well, I can't get enough of them. Here's a little sweet moment for these two.

xxx

A hunter's life was a lonely life. It was a life made of sacrifices, loss, and fear. It was a life you spent killing creatures, protecting people, and expecting Death to embrace you at any moment. A hunter's life was spent trying to atone for sins you committed, and those you were about to commit. Oh, Dean knew quite a deal about it. He knew quite a deal about pain, despair, loss, and sacrifices. He knew and if he had not been Chuck's favorite human, he probably would have died a long time ago. If he had not met Oya, he would have been dead by now, or perhaps, he would have lived an empty life. Dean's world was grey and painful, but since he met Oya, everything changed. She saved him. He told her so a while ago. If it wasn't for her kindness and her love, Dean would have been lost. If it wasn't for her dedication to him, and her desire to make him see what she saw in him, Dean would have been lost. Oya came, she showed him that he was worthy of being loved, that he could build a life for himself despite the horrors this world had to offer. Oya loved him through thick and thin, and he loved her all the same. They were hunters, and their lives were spent soaked with blood and with lives taken to protect other lives, but they were able to have something else, something more, something real.

They were healers. Dean and Oya found each other when they were at their worst. They were able to recognize their kin in each other. They were healers because after they lost everything, they were able to move forward and build something. It took its time, countless nights, and a dash of hope, but Oya and Dean were able to make a home for themselves. They manage to fill their empty hearts with love. They were able to become a family, no matter what. She lost a family when the Asanbosam slaughtered them, but she gained a new one with Team Free Will. A lover, and two brothers. Together, they were able to find something good with life, and renewed energy to fight for it. Together, they managed to soften their rough angles, they welcome the idea of them being able to find their happiness in the rubble of this world. They did it.

They were healers. Together, despite what Fate had for them in-store, they were able to make it lie and change their future. Together, they were able to finally start to live their lives. It wasn't just brothers to return to. It wasn't just a mission after another mission after another mission. It was a home he could return to. It was blind trust. It was a desire to see the other grow and flourish. It was the little things, from her ugly aprons to Dean cooking something for her. It was the way their bodies felt right against the other. It was the quieter nights -for him-, and the less intense nightmares -for her-. It was them being each other's last thoughts before they fell asleep or during critical moments. It was the tears they shed for one another, the joy they let explode, and the fact they didn't mind scars, tears, blood, and everything else from the other.

It was love.

It was life.

And finally, after so long, they were able to make a warm home for themselves in this cold world.

A home in each other's hearts.

A heart they shared.

A heart... Their heart.

Sam and Oya : You're my brother.

Sam and Oya: You're my brother.

A/N : A phone conversation between Sam and Oya when Oya was hunting alone. Post-Pluto.

XXXX

Small town near Lawrence, gas station 11 AM

Oya's bike wheel flattened a few kilometers before she reached the town. Fortunately for her, it was close enough for her to walk her bike to the nearest gas station and pump the bike full of air. Her phone rang at this exact moment, which had her take it off of her pocket and look at the name of the caller. « BOOKWORM » was written all over her phone, a cute nickname she gave Sam Winchester when she first arrived at the bunker. A soft smile graced her features and she took the call.

« Bookworm!  What's up? »

« Hey, O. Well, listen, I just wanted to check on you. » -He said, stroking the tip of his nose-

« You... I'm fine, Sam. » -Her response was a knee-jerk reaction.-

« Then why did you leave the bunker alone? You're working on a case ? » -She could tell he was worried, given the way he said this sentence, it came out almost like a growl, which sent shivers down Oya's spine. The petite hunter groaned-

« Are you going to lecture me? Because if you are, I hung up the phone. » -Another knee-jerk reaction to Sam being worried.-

As a matter of fact, this would have been hilarious if it wasn't so tragic. Oya would have been a hypocrite to deny Sam his fear of losing her again. Not so long ago she was on the floor, her body carved open by the pagan god Pluto. Not so long ago she would have died if Dean hadn't sent Castiel to her rescue and if the angel had come one second too late. It was a matter of luck, and Oya wasn't really exactly Domino from the x-men, she was running thin of Luck these days. She narrowed her gaze and rolled her head. Sam, on the other side of the phone, was frustrated with Oya's cavalier attitude regarding her near-death experience. He knew it was her putting on a brave mask for herself and the others, pretending that everything was fine when they weren't. He knew it was her trying to convince herself that she could still hunt and wasn't traumatized by the recent event. As a matter of fact, the ebony hunter second-guessed her trip out of the bunker, she wasn't ready, it was obvious to anyone who took a look at her, but Oya pretended that she was. So Sam's call awoke her fears and had her curl her free hand's fingers into a fist.

« I'm not trying to fight you Oya, nor lecture you. How many times did Dean and I fall into your shoes? We've always hidden our true feelings from one another, always pushed through pain and trauma, and look where it led us. I don't want you to-- »

« I'm not like you! » Oya ended up growling. « I haven't saved the world, I don't have a big destiny as you two have. I haven't been chosen by two archangels to fight for the fate of the world nor did I even encounter the actual king of Hell... I'm not like you... I'm not a chosen one, I'm just me, regular old me who was almost killed by a fucking pagan god! » She lashed out. « So yeah! I left the bunker. Yeah! I took my stupid bike! Yeah, I'm stuck in a town with a flat tire! I KNOW! I know... I know I'm not okay! » She ended up yelling before she ran her hand through her heavy black curls and bit her bottom lip. « I'm sorry Sam... I just didn't expect you'd call that's all. »

« I tend to call when I'm the least expected. » -He joked a little, making her chuckle a little bit.- « It's nice to hear you laugh. »

« You're silly.. » she chuckled and gently leaned the phone onto her shoulder. « But it's good to hear from you. I'm sorry I bailed on you. I needed to prove to myself that I wasn't broken by my last encounter. » She admitted, as she looked at the tire being pumped. « But now that you've called me, I don't know what to do. »

« Come home? »' -He suggested, holding his breath for her response.- « I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life, O. I'm just...I just want you to be home that's all. »

« Why is that? » She asked, her voice slightly broke by the sudden rush of emotions that crept in her heart. « Why are you... why do you want me to go home? »

« Because I need to see you. I have been away a lot these past couple of months and while it was nice to talk to you over the phone, I was hoping we could spend some time together. » he stroked his nose. « Dean's not really talkative as you can imagine. »

« Uh ?.....Is this about Eileen? Are you finally asking this girl out? » She teased him, knowing full well that he wasn't calling her to get some relationship advice. However, the chuckle didn't last long and she moistened her lips before adding in a still cracked voice. « I should stop joking around. You quickly left once Castiel brought me home. It was as if you couldn't stand looking at me. »

« I had a hard time yeah. I felt relieved that you weren't dead, but then, it became overwhelming so I left. » He said, interspersing his voice with small grunts. « I could have lost you. We all could have lost you. »

« I know. I don't know how to deal with it. It's not the first time I almost die. When we met you and I, you rescued me from a vampire nest. They would have killed me, so many closed calls... I could have died the night I got the scars on my arms, all because I was reckless and enraged. I could have died... when that fucking creature took my face and body and confessed their affection to Dean.. my affection to him... my love. » She took a deep breath. « Then the werewolves, and so on and so on until this bastard took me out. I should have been dead by now and the fact I am not and the fact Castiel healed me almost to my best health? I felt that I got cheated in the recovery process you know? »

« There's the anger inside... I know the feeling. Lucifer got me you know? He killed me too. There's the emptiness you feel inside, and the injuries that took your life hurt like Hell too. Always...There's the anger, and there's the pain that never fully goes away. »

« And the loneliness... and the fear of leaving those we love behind. I fucking love you three. I was crying because I didn't want to leave you behind, I didn't want to die. » -Unlike the brothers, if she died and unless someone played with her body, she would be dead for good. She would be unable to be with them until their last breath.-

« You quickly get over it, once you've tried Death. » -Another joke, because Sam could feel that she was about to cry again. Oya swallowed those tears like she swallowed the pain. She simply shook her head. « Oya, I left because I couldn't stand the idea that someone hurt you this bad. It reminded me of Charlie and Kevin all over again. » He said with a sigh, leaning against the table of the war room at the MOL bunker.

« I'm sorry... » She sobbed, wiping her tears off of her face. « It's not what I wanted. I love Dean. I am in love with him, yeah. I love Castiel and I love you. You're my brother Sam. You're my brother. » She said, biting back a sob.

« Then come home, Oya! Come home. »

He said, his tone betraying the desire he had to see her again. He had been worried for the young woman, understandably so. And wished for her safe return until they are sure she's doing alright since the last attack she'd suffered. He knew his brother Dean would not be alarmed by what Oya did because he would have done the very same. However, he also knew that Dean was worried for her and wouldn't tell anyone about it. So Sam took it upon himself to reach out to Oya and reason with her. Oya considered his words and as the tire was almost ready she finally agreed to come home before hanging up the phone.

SAM X DEAN: Oya needs our help

A/ N: We all know that Oya would drop everything to help/rescue the Winchesters. (should she not be hunting with Dean, like she usually does). They would do the very same for her. As my WP and I discussed. So I imagined a moment like this, from the brothers POV. <3

xxxxxx

« Oya needs our help. »
Four little letters that had a huge impact on both the brothers. It had to be today. Of all the days possible she could have asked for help, she chose to do it on Charlie's anniversary. Dean hated anniversaries. He was crankier than ever around those days. He would drink, raise his beer to honor the dead but would mostly remain silent. Sam wasn't talkative either. How could he when his mind was plagued with guilt and the memories of the one who passed away? Charlie's death was one of those deaths that hit the brothers hard. Charlie was akin to a sister. A civilian turned hunter after her first contact with the supernatural. They tried to convince her to drop it, her dreams of adventures and glory but they realized soon enough it would be impossible. Charlie was meant for this life. Charlie was meant to be a hunter and she died as one while trying to protect the world from Nazis. She died on the job and yet, the brothers felt responsible for it.

Dean swore to never let anyone else get close to him so he wouldn't have to lose them again. It sounded easy, simple and for a few years, he was doing great. That was until he met Oya and she turned his world upside down. They were sharing a connection he never thought he could have. Perhaps it was made easier because she belonged to his world and he didn't have to split himself in two or sacrifice a part of him. Perhaps it was the fact she accepted all of him, flaws and all that he never thought could ever happen. Perhaps, it was the fact she was impossibly beautiful and badass when they were hunting and he couldn't tear his eyes off of her. Or maybe that was the fact she knew him, the good the bad and the ugly and still wanted to be with him? She cared for him and he cared for her, to the point of turning the car around and drive to the small town Oya was hiding in.

Her solo mission derailed at some point, a situation she couldn't fully explain because she didn't have much time. Sam could only have her say she was surrounded with a huge pack of werewolves and she couldn't possibly beat them all alone. She managed to cast a spell of protection that could mask her scent for a few days but that was it. There was no time to waste and the town was at least 3 days away from where they were. 3 days could be enough to find her dead in her motel room. 3 days were too much of a delay before getting to her. It was driving Dean crazy with anger and fear. He trusted Oya, of course, he did. She was a capable hunter but even the best sometimes needed help. He wasn't mad at her for getting into the situation. He was mad at himself for not being closer so he could help her faster. He was already feeling the weight of guilt breaking his shoulders. As usual.

Sam didn't say anything, he was hoping they would get there in time and get Oya out of that trap. His mind tried to avoid the elephant in the room, but no matter how hard he tried, he simply could not take the blood-covered body of Charlie he found in the bathroom. He still remembered the scream let out by Dean, a powerful « NO ! » that tried to deny the reality. He still remembered holding the lifeless corpse in his arms, holding her tight as if it would bring her back but it didn't. Nothing did. She was gone. Since Oya came into his life, Sam tried his best not to let her in as well. He didn't want to get attached the way he was with Charlie. He didn't want to fear for Oya's life when she would be out there on her own. He didn't want to find himself in this exact situation, where she called for help and they came too late. But it happened. He met Oya, he let her in. He wanted her in his life and now that she was, she was in trouble. His eyes shifted and stared at his brother behind the wheel. Dean's jaw was tense, and he could see he was nervous by the way he was holding the wheel. His fist was clenched tightly, his jaw was locked and a vein was popping on his forehead. Dean was worried sick.

« She's gonna be alright. » -Sam tried to say. Dean cleared his throat and managed to answer.-

« I know. She's a tough cookie. The toughest those sons of bitches have ever seen. »

He tried to comfort himself, make sure that his mind didn't go out of control. Dean tried to keep the fear away, the monsters at bay. Oya was alive and he will rescue her. He could get in time, she could pick up a fight with any monsters he could think of. She was badass just like that. But the truth was, no matter how much trust he had in her, fear and guilt still outweighed it. He could not lose Oya, not after all the troubles they went through. Not when he learned she needed help on Charlie's anniversary. She always knew what to do or say on days like these. She knew the older Winchester was moody, but she would manage to help crank him down to a more manageable level. Flashes of Oya crossed his mind, from the days she celebrated her first day with the Winchesters -with a single candle on a cupcake- to the days she would just comfort him, her hands in his hair massaging his scalp, a soft tune she would hum to him and the cuddles she would give so he would feel her warmth and presence. In days like these, when she wasn't physically present, she would give him a call and she would talk about her day, something silly, then sing him a song. She would be there, but she wasn't.

Why did it have to be her? Why did it have to be today? Why did it have to be him? He couldn't possibly reject the ways Oya made him feel. He couldn't possibly refuse to have her back, by his sides. He couldn't possibly refuse to go to her rescue. She needed help. She called and asked for it and he would be damned if he didn't answer her call and leap there as fast as he could. Yet, there still were 3 days ahead of the Winchesters and the dread only became stronger now that the realization set in. Dean turned his face to glance at his brother, his face still difficult to read but for one thing: he needed Oya back and he needed her alive. Sam moistened his lips and nodded at his brother, silently agreeing with him that they had to find Oya and they had to bring her back and alive. They needed to.

Sam and Oya: we lost too much

"Why do you act as if I cannot understand, Sam? Do you really think I don't know what it is when you're so happy you're afraid?" -She put her hand on her heart, her breathing sharp, her heart jumping against her ribcage-

"We always wait for the other shoe to drop, Oya. I know you know how it feels but you've never been in our shoes, you don't know just how bad it can get." -Sam tried to remain neutral but he was tense, his jaw was clenched and his fists were tightened-

"Maybe I would understand if you stop shoving me aside! Maybe I would understand if you sit down and talk to me! Sam! Please!"

".........."

"Maybe I would understand if you stop shoving me aside! Maybe I would understand if you sit down and talk to me! Sam! Please!" -She was increasingly becoming frustrated. Her tone betrayed her thoughts.-

How could he tell her that what she did was reckless? How could she fight against an entire nest of vampires on her own? She could have died if had not called for help and one of the hunters she contacted reached out to the brothers. They weren't pleased, Dean didn't even want to talk with her and Sam was still upset but more willing to communicate.

"What you did was reckless." She chewed at her bottom lip. "and poorly thought-out!"

"You mean stupid." She corrected him, but he didn't confirm her words. "Sam, what's so different from what you guys do on a daily basis? you fight gods, Lucifer, and the likes, what's so goddamn different this time?"

"I told you, Oya. What were you thinking?? If you've located the nest you should have told us, we'd have come and helped you!"

"You are not answering ME!" She said tilting her head to the side so she could set her hazel eyes on Sam's. "Do you think I'm not worried sick when you go hunting together? Do you think I don't worry you won't come home when you don't text back? You think it's exclusive to you, uh?"

"Here we go again. And you say I'm the one deflecting? Do you have any idea and I mean ANY idea of what your death could do to us?"

"....." Oya blinked and shook her head. He took her by surprise and she couldn't think of anything to spit back at Sam.

"I figured that out. You have no idea. Don't think for a second that because we have lost so many people, we became immune to the pain. We're not. When Charlie died,  or even Kevin...I felt guilty. I felt empty. They were the people I was the closest too, aside from Bobby. I lost them Oya and I feel their deaths every single day. I thought that maybe I should stop allowing people in my heart because it hurts too much. I thought of shutting down, keeping people away and then you came. you came like a boulder and you crushed what little defense I had against you. You live here. It's not like with Jodi. You live here, with us." -He finally sat in front of her.- "And I am terrified every single day because I know I can lose you. I don't want to, okay? I don't."

"Sam...." He put his hand on her knee and held onto it hard.

"Imagine how hard it is for me to say that to you. Imagine how hard it is for Dean? I've never seen him this relaxed in a long time. I've never seen him share anything with someone. Imagine how he must have felt when we were driving to you?"

He had a point, she had never experienced loss the same as they way did. Oya realized that she shouldn't have gone on her own and should have asked for help. She knew Dean was angry at her for even taking the risk -when he knew she didn't have to- and knew it would take some time before he would relax again. Sam words made her realize that there was still a lot she didn't know or didn't assume.

"I'm sorry..... I didn't want to make you feel like this. I'm sorry Sam." She said as she rubbed his back and slowly pulled him into a hug. Hesitant at first, Sam wrapped one arm around her waist and held her against his frame, relaxing against her now that the adrenaline of the fight wore off.

Sam and Oya: you're family

Oya was breathing heavily, her leg still needed stitches but she had tightly wrapped her leg in Dean's shirt to stop the bleeding. Sam let the victim of the werewolf give him a hug and let her go. "Oya?... you alright?" He asked as he turned around to look at her. She had both hands on her waist and was looking at the beautiful view of the lake below. "Have you ever seen something this beautiful and quiet?" Oya asked before she smiled. It was dawn so the sun was rising. "I never got to watch the sunrise since I settled at The Bunker. Go figures." She said a smile flashed on her lips. Sam furrowed his brows and chuckled softly.

Moments ago they just had one of the most brutal fights he'd ever been a part of. Oya seemed angry, so angry that she nearly tore apart their enemy. She took a severe beating too, her left eye and her lips were swollen. She had multiple cuts on her face, fingers and he could guess she had bruises on her torso, maybe a broken rib, maybe injuries he wasn't aware of. But she was smiling now and it was all that mattered to Sam.

"Why are you looking at me like that? I'm alright. Don't look at me like that. I took a beating but I'm good." She said with a light chuckle before she wrapped her arm around his waist and leaned against his chest. Sam wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer to his frame. "Sam?!" She looked up at his face. He looked down at her and smiled. " I'm good. I'm glad you are too." She chuckled and leaned into him a lot more. " you shouldn't worry that much about me. I'm a hardass!" He laughed and pressed a kiss on top of her head " you mean a badass!" She pouted and slapped his back. "Whatever.." she grinned, adrenaline still pumping through her veins.

Sam watched the sunrise and glanced at Oya next to him. He still remembered what she told him last night. She had a nightmare, like always, and told him tearfully that she was scared of losing him. That she considered him like family and a brother she didn't know she needed to have. They never talked about it after that night but her words stuck at the back of his head. He loved her. He knew it deep down and he realized that he never actually told her how much she meant to him. He had thought of the many ways he could let her know that she was his family too and he dreaded losing her. He wanted to calm her fears. Sure, she had stopped trying to leave and felt comfortable with them

Around but she still needed to hear it. So he would tell her. "I don't want to lose you either. You are family Oya, through and through." He said, feeling her stiffen against Him. "I don't want you to think we don't care. That I don't care... I do. You keep saying you don't want us to die and you'd give your life for us. Well, we would give ours to save you too. That's how we roll. That's family." She chewed her bottom lip and looked at him. "Sam.." she gently stroked his chest "you big cheese!" She grinned and tiptoed so she could kiss his cheek. He bent forward and allowed her to reach his cheek. " I love you too. We can go home now." He nodded and smiled at her before they went back to their car and left to go home.

Sam x Oya: A mean dream

Sam woke up upset and since then, had tried to shake this feeling off. Neither the cold shower or the endless stream of coffee he had that morning could make him feel less tense. It had been a while since he actually had a dream, but this one was upsetting. It felt like a premonition and while the younger Winchester brother was skeptical he knew it was entirely possible. Oya's behavior was strange ever since she came back from her latest mission. She acted as if something was after her and accordingly was suspicious of everything. She jumped whenever he entered her room, threw knives at him if he didn't announce his presence and even more strange than usual, she didn't mention Dean. Oya would have talked his brother from the moment she stepped into the bunker and yet, several days later, she had not said anything. His name didn't even cross her lips so of course, Sam was worried. She looked at him like she used to when she wanted to run away. Her eyes would twitch as she would look anywhere but at him. Her bags would be packed and he suspected that she had packed them already. And there was his dream.

Sam dreamed that Oya encountered his worst enemy, Lucifer. He was certain of two things. Lucifer was Oya's worst nightmare came true but she also would do anything to protect the brothers, even from the devil. He knew how much Oya hated angels and feared demons. He knew that they populated her daily nightmares and shook her to the core. He also knew she swore on her life that she would rather die than let anything happened to them because as she said « Dean needed Sam and Sam needed Dean » and she would never allow the brothers to be separated. Oya was an adult, Her life was hers but it bothered Sam to no end to know that she would be foolish enough to die for them. Too many of their friends and family died to protect them and preserve their connection. Too many of their friends and family sacrificed themselves for them and Sam just could not take it any longer. Oya was special in his heart. She wasn't just some passerby. She was part of their family, just like Kevin, Bobby and Charlie were. She made herself a room into his heart and for someone who thought he wouldn't love anymore, Sam surprised himself loving Oya's presence in his life...loving her like the damn sister he never had. So of course, the thought of her death, at the hands of Lucifer in the most excruciating way haunted Sam since he woke up. Whenever he looked at her, he heard her screams, he saw her blood-soaked face and it broke his heart. He was in the war room, drinking his nth cup of coffee while looking at the newspapers for noteworthy cases he could work with Oya. Dean wasn't home and wouldn't be for quite so time so it seemed that the two of them would go for a ride.

Doya : What she likes

A/ N: Sam's an observer here. Oya is in a very good mood which.. dun dun dun. He actually likes. All the usual disclaimers

Xxxxxxx

Sam was exhausted from last night. He was holding his cup of coffee and blankly stared in front of him without any focus whatsoever. Dean was awake, fresh and ready to work. Unlike usual, he woke up early and started to make pancakes for when Oya would wake up. Sam looked at his cup, then at Dean who was waltzing in the kitchen, then at his cup and yawned. They didn't speak since he woke up but Dean was looking into a case. Good for him. Sam yawned again and closed his eyes, way too exhausted to say something. He had just come back from a hunt on his own and was still recovering from the bruises he collected on the job, nothing special, just some werewolf running wild and killing people, the usual stuff but something was exhausting about this case and he had not figured that out just yet. He could have if Oya hadn't made such a noise when she entered the kitchen.

«Holaaaa! » She said in a loud chuckle, wearing nothing but Dean's large shirt and a pair of Boxer. Sam lifted his cup in silence and resumed falling asleep on his chair. « It's such a beautiful day today... fresh like I love them! » She said as she sat on the table and borrowed Sam's coffee mug to take a sip. « Sorry, bookworm, but you're basically sleeping on your coffee. » She grinned and sat, meditative style on the table.

« Oya...I need my coffee to wake up. » He growled, half-asleep, which made her grin and shake her head. « Give it back. » She puffed her cheeks and gave him the cup back before her head looked away, at Dean who was making pancakes. « You have a case? »

« Kinda. Something exciting! We believe it's a good old haunting case. I want it to be a good old haunting case with a good old ghost. » She said, unable to contain her excitement. Sam chuckled and answered.

« Well, let's hope it is that then. » He knew why Oya was this excited.

His chestnut eyes averted from her to Dean she was looking in silence. Oya was hyper, always when it came to hunting. She was raised differently then they were. There was some pride in hunting, an excitement akin to those who hunted for sports. There was the challenge of the beast, the thrill of the fight and of course knowing they put their lives on the line and could die every single time they went outside. Oya had violence inside of her, a violence Sam had seen on various occasions and even talked with her about. Yet, it wasn't the hunt in itself that made Oya this happy. It was the fact she was going to hunt with Dean. It brought a smile to his face, a faint smile given how tired the younger Winchester brother was.

Oya was very easy to read, maybe even easier to read that she believed she was. It was not a secret that she fancied his brother. Sam pieced things together pretty fast with these two, from her subtle attempt to know how Dean was doing when she was talking to him, to the way she was talking of him when Sam and Oya went on hunts together. She fancied him, alright. It was more than just...sex. Sam already knew that. Oya saw in Dean things most didn't. She knew things about him most didn't and didn't run away. She knew about their missteps, their mistakes and some of the terrible things they did -Sam being a vessel of Lucifer, for example, Dean killing Death..- and she was still there, looking at them with eyes filled with stars in them. Looking at them like two human beings and treating them with a respect none of them thought they even deserved.

Oya fancied Dean and she was excited about working with him again, after so many months working on her own, going on solo missions, coming back bruised and wounded like the reckless gremlin she was. She was happy because they would spend some quality time together. She was happy just because of that and it brought a smile on Sam's face. It was so simple and yet..it felt good. Oya kept looking at Dean without a word before she turned around and ruffled Sam's hair. He looked up at her face and saw she was looking at him with a slight concern.

« You okay there buddy? » He nodded. « Good. You just look very pale. » He shrugged.

« I'm fine. Just exhausted and you took a sip of my coffee. » He growled gently before he leaned his head on the table. Oya grabbed his head and put it on her lap, making him feel more comfortable while she ran her fingers through his hair, massaging his scalp.

« I'll fetch you another cup. » She said, smiling at him while her hand was still massaging his scalp.

«.... » He didn't say anything,

His eyes closed again because he was way too tired to keep them up. Oya felt good, her fingers over his hair, massaging his scalp while she herself, was humming a soft tune. That was a habit she had, something simple he noticed over the months she liked to do. Simple gestures of affection she did without thinking twice about it. She would care for them, tend to their wounds, make sure they were relaxed. If she woke up early like she did and Dean wasn't making breakfast, she would leave and buy some, make coffee and make sure they both ate. She would hum songs while doing the simple things like doing research, training and he wouldn't miss a beat. She never missed doing these things. Watching Dean make breakfast and singing a tune... A perfect morning... a morning like she liked them.

« I hope your hunt would go well... » Sam whispered in a purr, making her nod and wrap her arms around his large shoulders. In order to be more comfortable, he had his head on her lap and his arms on each side of her legs.

«I'll tell you. It's in town...so it'll be harder to find something corny to bring you back but I'll manage. »

« I don't want an apron. » He managed to say, chuckling for the first time in the morning and bringing a smile on her lips. She didn't say anything and just ran her fingers through his hair. « I don't want an apron. » He insisted before he returned to half-sleep on her lap while Dean was making pancakes.

« He's mumbling again? » He asked, turning around to look at Oya who looked past her shoulder to Dean.

« He's half sleeping, yeah. I'm starving by the way and it smells divine! » She said, smiling at him before she returned her attention to Sam who fell asleep on her lap.

« You got it! » Dean returned to making pancakes while Oya sighed happily. All was well in her world. Bacon, breakfast, Brothers...Dean. A morning like she liked them.

Sam and Oya: forbidden fruit -ship-

Sam believed Oya was a gremlin, or maybe a faery. Faeries were known for their pettiness and cruelty. They were violent little creatures and Oya surely knew how to be violent AND petty. Sam never met someone like her, invested in everything she did, invested in keeping him alive when they were working a case together, invested in them so much so that when someone else tried to orbit around him, she was quick to snap. He saw her jealousy and almost felt her blood boil through her veins whenever a pretty sweetheart flirted with him. She was possessive and it made him feel awkward and weird but in a good way because she noticed /him/. In the sea of every hunter he knew she could have been interested in, she chose him. Moose, the great goose, the tall Winchester brother, the least sought after by trucks of Dean's groupies. He didn't mind being the center of attention, not at all. He actually enjoyed not being noticed. He enjoyed his freedom, being able to work a case without having a widow drop her panties to screw him.
That didn't prevent Sam from having affairs of his own, rarer than Dean's but more meaningful than his. Ruby, Jessica, and the others. Even that one he phoned in when he tried to ignore Dean and rejected the hunter's life (well, he didn't per say, ignored him, he decided that his death WAS and should have been the end of the business. but that's digressing). Sam always fell and fell hard when he chose to become intimate with someone. He chose Oya, much to his surprise and to hers but after suffering so much, losing his soul, being possessed by crazy angels and all the maelström that his life became when Dean showed back up from Hell, Sam wasn't sure he had what it took to make Oya happy. They both knew they were broken, she told him so and in doing so voiced his own concern. She wasn't sure she could bring him all he needed in this life but she did, more than she could ever think she did. She brought him stability, a sense of normalcy, a sense of belonging. It was complicated to explain or even conceptualize but she made him feel alive again, human again, normal. From her affectionate little kisses on his cheeks and neck to her piggybacking him every chance she got, to her crying in his arms after a rather huge day and allowing him to comfort her.. all of that made Sam feel anchored to this reality and gave him Something more to fight for.
When she kissed him that night, after they argued over her benching him (to this day he doesn't know why she did it and didn't buy her shady explanation), it became clear to both that they were feeling the same way and yet, both weren't feeling at ease when they looked at their relationship just yet. they worked well together, they were strongly attached to one another, he would kill to save her life and so would she. He relished her kisses and signs of affection. he sought after them like she did. He felt at peace when she was sleeping next to him and she was having fewer nightmares by his sides. So, what prevented them from calling it what it was? Fear. fear of losing it if they dared name it.like it always happened. because he plainly lived relationships in the past who ended up in tragédies, Sam was convinced he shouldn't be that open. he shouldn't say the words, shouldn't openly label it and if he didn't, then she would be safe. strangely enough, she felt the same way and they came up with original ways to claim their feelings for each other. "I'm with you." was the code for "I love you." and all seemed well in the world.
So that explained why he was smiling the way he did in this picture he only agreed to take because she attacked him with kisses, her mischievous smile, and those damn adorable hazel eyes. Sam was a softie at his very core and she knew damn well how to play him like a fiddle. Or did she?

Sam and Oya : The demon serial killer case part 3 confrontation!

A/ N: Sam and Oya finally learned the identity of the serial killer and decide to go after it. Also, he's trying to talk to her about her « lashing out » at the witch in between their case but she's avoiding talking to him.

Xxx

« SAM !!! » -Oya yelled as the demon held her neck and was choking her.-

After three days of investigation in the Church of Light, Sam and Oya finally realized that the only thread between all the murders was Chantal's wife Stephanie. Sam discovered that she was the founder of the cult and therefore was present in all the five states where it existed. While Chantal recruited new members locally, Stephanie traveled through the country and was present each and everytime a new victim showed up. Sam confirmed it was Stephanie and the pair decided they could confront her at a time where there would be no followers so nobody would get hurt. Usually, the followers had a very tight timetable, filled with activities that were supposed to ensure the cohesion of the group except for Thursday afternoon and nights. Thursday was free, which made it easier for the Winchester and the African hunter to search for their target. Their investigation started to raise suspicion and have people talk a lot about this strange couple. The death of the local witch, only made things worse and tipped Chantal who started to lead her own investigation. She started to piece things together and realized that her wife was actually potentially a serial killer. Mortified, she confronted the woman who quickly revealed the truth and snapped her neck.

Oya and Sam arrived at their house, having noticed from afar the lights being on. The woman grabbed a regular knife and left the car, quickly followed by Sam, who also had a hunter's knife and a gun in his hand. As soon as they entered the home, the lights went off, making Oya grunt and motion to Sam that she was going upstairs while he should keep looking for their target on the ground floor. The house seemed pretty normal at first glance, but Oya knew better and kept her attention on her surroundings. She opened the office room and found Chantal's body laying on the floor. The poor woman's throat was snapped, which didn't coincide with the murders that took place in the past. Furrowing her brows, Oya started to wonder if they got it right because it didn't make sense that Chantal's body wouldn't be mutilated like the other victims. Before she could further her investigation, she felt the presence of someone on her back. Stephanie tried to stab Oya with a knife but Oya dodged the attack by sliding to the left. The knife stayed stuck on the wooden table and Oya used the moment Stephanie realized it, to turn around with a punch that was blocked by the woman. Her eyes turned black, indicating that she was a demon.

Oya tried to kick the demon's left side but her leg was caught by the monster who then proceeded to slam the African hunter's body against the wall. Oya grunted and stabbed the creature's shoulder with her regular knife. It made her chuckle and slap the African hunter in the face before she held her by the neck. Sam heard the noises upstairs and quickly ran the stairs up to the first floor. He looked into the bedrooms but they were empty and followed the noise. He gasped at the sight, but furrowed his brows and tried to stab the demon bitch without hesitation, but she heard him from when he ran upstairs thanks to the old wood that creaked and made some distinguishable noise and because she did, it wasn't difficult to block him with her other hand and throw him around against the nearest wall. She tilted her head to the side, giving a slasher smile to Oya who was still choking on her hand. The distraction provided by Sam was enough for Oya to use the wall to push her knee up so it could hit the demon's chin.It worked, making Stephanie take some steps back.

Oya groaned as she felt short of breath. The hunter grabbed the knife that was on Stephanie's shoulder and used it to cut through her left eye, effectively blinding the vessel and forcing the creature to snarl and release her neck. By the time Oya fell onto the floor, Sam had been back to his feet and tried to stab the creature with a demon blade. The demon grinned and punched Sam's belly, once, twice but lost focus on Oya who rubbed her throat as she now could breathe. She stood back up and watched as the demon kicked Sam, who dropped his knife that rolled towards Oya.

"A Winchester in my lair. Who would have thought I would have the best prey?!" Stephanie finally said. "How exciting! you're both no match for me but I like a little struggle."

She cooed, grabbing the knife that was stuck on the table. She disregarded the fact Oya might still be able to hunt due to her straining her throat. Sam rolled on his side, avoiding the attack of the demon, once, twice and then blocked the knife with both hands while he glanced at Oya who was trying to stand back up so she could help Sam. The brother grunted as Stephanie bent forward and grinned at his face.

"Without Crowley leading Hell, we're pretty much free to do as we please. Nobody's going to save you from your destiny. You have to die, Sam Winchester."

She said, using her strength to lift the knife and tear down the skin on both Sam's hands but before she could stab him, Oya managed to stand up and stab her through the heart with Sam's demon blade. She screamed and as the lifeless corpse of Stephanie fell onto the floor, Oya legs gave up on her and she sat by it. Sam sat too and both stared at each other, heavily breathing from their fight. Oya's hazel eyes averted from Sam's face to the body of the serial killer and then from it to the box filled with her past crimes memorabilia. This case would be easy to explain, easier than previous tragedies. Stephanie was a serial killer long before the demon took possession of her body, so explaining what happened was not going to be much of a challenge. However, the witch Oya killed was another story... They managed to cover up their tracks but Sam was still bothered by what he witnessed. Oya was upset. She let herself be surprised by a demon, she didn't go inside fully prepared. What could she do with a regular blade against Angels or Demons? She furrowed her brows and hit her lap, frustrated by her encounter with a demon and the fear she now was starting to experience.

"Oya?" Sam said in a worried tone. She looked up to his eyes but clenched her jaw "Are you alright?"

"Yeah..." She shook her head. "No... " She wiped a tear off of her face. "I'm not."

"Yeah?" He encouraged her to speak, but in true Sam fashion, he wouldn't push her. He had questions that died at the back of his throat; Questions about the night with the Witch and why she was acting the way she did.

"I already can't handle angels... You know that, right?." He nodded, his brown eyes glancing at Stephanie's body. "I can't handle them...I can't handle them so imagine how little I can handle demons....."  She said, both disappointed scared. Her hands were shaking as she spoke, her whole body was still in shock of her encounter. It was her first demon, the very first besides Crowley that she actually fought and killed. "I couldn't face Stephanie... I couldn't face her.."

"You-- You killed her. You saved me. /you/, did that." He said, trying to reassure her. She glanced at him and swallowed a lump. "You faced a demon today."

"How are you not terrified?" She asked, her voice light as the wind as she knelt on the floor and tried to stand up. "How are you not terrified everytime you face a demon? or even the King of Hell?  Or.." She wiped another couple of tears and watched as Sam stood back up.

"Don't think we're not afraid. We just do it, just like you did. We just do it and you did it today. You will do it tomorrow." He outstretched his hand to help her stand on her two feet. "Thank you, Oya."

"You're welcome..." -She said as she held onto his hand and stood back up.-

"Let's go back home." He said, grabbing her shoulder to give it a firm squeeze before he left the room.

Oya followed him, lost in her thoughts. She knew that it wasn't over and they both would need to talk about what happened in the house with the witch.  Oya wanted to avoid the conversation. She didn't want to talk about her fear of losing him and his brother. She didn't want to talk about the nightmare in itself or about the bloodlust that took over her. Oya fell silent, unable to think as he took her to the motel room they were renting so she could take a shower and cleanse herself from the day.  She didn't say anything as he brought her back some pizza to eat and even less when they fell asleep. She had a nightmare that night, one that had her kicking and screaming but Sam was with her, his arms wrapped around her frame and his chin on top of her curly black hair. He watched over her all night long, stroking her arms and petting her back to keep her calm. It was going to be a conversation for another day. Another day.

sam and Oya: The odds

Sam and Oya: The odds

A/ N; continuing with this little sub-plot. Oya and Sam are spending some time together and already we can tell that communication is NOT their forte at all. Oya is still upset about Isaac's death and is afraid she might lose the brothers. Sam is upset because she's very stubborn and doesn't want to talk about the very fact she's afraid and he can see that. I'm 100% sure it's going to enter the DOYA storyline because I like this one.

xxxxxxxx

Sam and Oya's case was finally leading them somewhere. They went to the single and widowers party organized by the Church of Light to talk to the last victim claimed by the monster. Her name was Roberta Denver. It was her husband, Phil, who discovered her one morning when he came back from work, dead, with her eyes burned. The poor man couldn't understand why his wife died the horrible death she had. Roberta was almost a saint, a woman who dedicated her life helping people in need. He wasn't interested in being with someone else, Roberta being the love of his life, but still attended the parties because the Church encouraged him to. His story confirmed what Oya and Dean suspected about the killer coming back every 5 years and claiming victims. The fact the numbers doubled was unusual, however, because usually, demons were methodical. If, however, it bonded with a serial killer, then everything made sense. There was an escalation, probably induced by the human host. They were narrowing down the list of potential suspects, all the while pretending to be a couple. It amused Oya who couldn't help but laugh because she embarrassed Sam; She didn't even need to go extreme in her tease, a simple contact and innuendos were enough to make him blush and swallow a lump. It was refreshing but even less than the oddity that having another case happen right in the same town as they were was.

What were the odds? A witch decided to play around and kill her relatives. It didn't take long for the hunters to figure her out and go after her. The fight should have been an easy one, but the witch proved to be more powerful than expected. Oya was a victim of one of her hex that compelled her to witness her greatest fears. Unlike what the ebony hunter believed, her greatest fear was to lose both Dean and Sam. The Thomas were family of course, but she was still under the illusion that they would fair well. Especially Sarah since she was out of the hunting business. Seeing the corpses of the brothers was enough to make Asma lose her mind. Instead of being broken like the witch hoped for, she attacked her. Oya lashed out and Sam witnessed it with horror. Oya was fast, maybe faster than usual as she leaped onto the witch and grabbed her neck. He saw as she took her hunting knife out of its sheath and stabbed the witch repeatedly in the neck.

There was blood everywhere and the witch tried to strangle Oya -it didn't last long because she died pretty quickly- Sam intervened when he realized that Oya wasn't done with he body. She started to stab her chest and screaming horribly. Sounds weren't even human or maybe they were. He recognized it. She was screaming in pain, in horror and he guessed that it had something to do with what the witch made them see. -He saw the very same things. The younger Winchester brother grabbed Oya's shoulders and forced her to her feet. It was the first time that she actually saw him be worried about her, to the point that she nearly froze. Her eyes grew wide as he kept asking how she was doing. She looked at him, understanding that he indeed was worried about her and then at his hands that were holding onto her shoulders. She couldn't hear his words, but just the noise of his voice. She then snapped out of it and put her hand over his. His mind was racing and she could tell by the way he was looking at her. He knew. He knew what had just happened and he knew why she did it. It was obvious. She brought her blood-soaked hands up to cover his with and nodded quietly, almost as if she was trying to comfort him. -maybe she was-

« I'm okay. » -Her voice was mechanical but she was focused in the present now. « I'm okay Sam. »

«Yeah? » He didn't believe her but she held his hands tighter.

« Yeah. I'm okay. She just really tried to kill me but messed with the wrong short girl. » She said, forcing a chuckle. Sam was confused but he cleared his throat and released her shoulders.

« Let's go back to the motel room. You need a beer and so do I. »

« That's an idea I can get behind! » She said as she walked away from the crime scene. « I can totally get behind drinking myself to sleep after a hot shower.

« Sure... »

Sam tried to burn the thought in his mind, thinking that it might just be circumstantial and Oya would not behave like this in their current case. He wouldn't want her to take risks and end up being killed by the demon they were chasing after. His worried gaze set upon the ebony hunter as she sat on his right and leaned into the seat and he then turned the engine on and left the house.

Sam and Oya: The Serial killer demon case part 2

A/ N: because I'm having fun with this case and it's the opportunity to see Sam and Oya interact.

Xxx

Georgia, Church of Light, 1 pm

« How did you two heard of the church? »

Gina the interviewer who accepted to receive Sam and Oya in their flock was looking at both Sam and Oya with an eye filled with suspicion. She didn't believe that the two were actually a couple and even less than they truly wanted to join the church of Light. She was a middle-aged blonde woman who sincerely believed in the teachings of her church. Her green eyes stared at Sam who swallowed a lump and offered her one of his charming smiles. He was wearing a burgundy cardigan with a shirt underneath and a tie and completed his look with heavy glasses. Oya looked very vintage in the look she chose for herself. A beautiful red dress with a white cardigan. Her hair was tamed in a large bun and if Sam didn't know her better, he would have thought she was the sweetest and most innocent soul he'd ever met.

« I was Samantha  Newman's childhood friend. We kept in touch after she moved from Washington to Georgia. She couldn't stop talking about the Church of Light and invited me and my fiancé to join but we were trying to move in Georgia first so we could be close to her husband and her. I am afraid, we moved too late...she's gone now. » She said, sighing deeply and shaking her head.

« We also heard that Clarence, her husband died during the attack? » He held onto Oya's hand, intwining his fingers like a normal couple would. Oya wanted to chuckle but had to hold back or she would blow up their cover. Instead, she held onto his hand tighter.

« Yes, he did. Solange, one of the highest ranked members of the church went to visit Samantha and Clarence the day they died. She was the one who found the bodies. Mangled in such a terrible way. They were..... oh sweet Kindness! » She sighed and shrugged. « We haven't had any murders in...five years! And it was an accident. One of our practitioners died at home? Roberta was her name. I think her husband Phil is still a member of the church. Listen.. aside from the gruesome deaths, we didn't have that. We never had that. »

« Oh nooo. » Oya glanced at Sam and pretended to be more affected by the deaths than they were.

«Ah... Poor Samantha. She didn't talk much about her previous life in Washington. She was very discreet you know? Clarence and Samantha were very dedicated to the church and I am glad she could have picked your interest. However, we do not accept members as easily as you might think we do. » Gina tried to sound tough but she already was under the charm of this new couple in front of her.

« What mean? mean? » Oya asked, taking a handkerchief in her purse and pretending to clean some unshed tears off of her eyes. « I thought you were very accepting? »

« If I had to be very honest with you, ever since members of our church started to get killed, we became very cautious. We have to enforce an extreme vetting on the new members just in case a killer might slip in. » She said, drawing a cross on her chin with her forefinger and pressing the flat of her hands against one another. Oya lifted a brow, ready to say something corny but she held back her words and gave Gina a sympathetic smile. « We are scared but we also want to spread the message of our church. »

« I understand. Samantha told me that you put virtue at the center of your religion? »

« Yes. We believe that humans would benefit from being truly kind to one another, regardless of our background. We value good actions, purity of heart and of course, we believe in family. »

«F-family? So single people can't join your church? » Oya was interested and for a brief second, she almost forgot that she was investigating a murder. Could that really exist? A place where discrimination didn't exist?

« We...encourage people to get together. We organize parties for our single members or widows. There is not such a thing as being strong enough alone. We need companionship. So, how long have you two been together? I see a ring? » Here was Oya's response. There was not such a thing as a discrimination-free society. She looked at her ring and shrugged.

« Roughly two years. We've been engaged for about two years.. When is it that we will celebrate our anniversary again, honey? » She asked, teasing Sam as he looked even more embarrassed. He cleared his throat and answered

« In two months. Our two years anniversary is in two months. » Which coincided with the anniversary of her time spent with the Winchesters. She smiled, unable to prevent herself from smiling and gently nudged him with her elbow.

« It's very soon. » She added with a grin. Gina lifted her brows, staring at the couple holding hand a little too tight, them looking embarrassed but their smiles were authentic. Oya furrowed her brows for a second and then cleared her throat.« If we are to be very honest, we decided to leave Washington because we wanted to have children. » Sam coughed and nodded.

«Children? How fantastic! » Gina exclaimed.

«YES! Yes indeed! Honey, I thought we would be talking a little more about the children... »

«Why? Samantha would have loved to hear we wanted to have a family like she was planning to. We would have raised our kids with the same values...Are you sure we don't qualify for the church? We thought of the Catholic church that is right around the corner, it would be close to home and easy to access. » Oya said, nonchalantly throwing out a rival so Gina would feel more inclined to take them in.

«What? Did I say we wouldn't want you? I think you two are perfect. »

« Good. What is the next step now that we're clear about it? »

« Next step? You have to meet the other members of the church. We are not that many but we are very close to each other. You'll feel at home. » She said outstretching her hand to check both Sam and Oya hands. « I will call you to inform you of the date and place. We'll throw a big introduction party for you two. Welcome, Chantal and Robert. »

« Good. Thank you, Chantal. » Oya checked her hand and quietly walked away. As soon as they reached their car, she sighed deeply and put her hands around her waist. «Well... I guess we'll have to talk to that Phil guy. »

« They seem to be a pretty tight community. They favor marriage, right ? Don't you think we should try and talk to him at one of those parties for widows and single people? »

« We could try. Do you think he would attend one of these? » Sam looked at her with disbelief in his eyes. « Okay.. okay! That was dumb. For now, I think we should pay a visit to the coroner. Let's change. »

« yes, ma'am!  I'll drive! »
