The day of the Jackal - Final part 10

Alex arranged his bowtie and looked at his reflection in the mirror. He noticed the creases on his face, the mark of the years passing by.  He then put both hands on the sink and ground his teeth. The last couple of months have exhausted them both. Since the death of Dylan Atwater, they left the country and sought refuge in France.  Diane was highly functioning, but she was plagued with nightmares at night, nightmares that he knew came from all of Diane's buried emotions and memories of that dreadful day. She couldn't speak about it for two months, because it always brought her to the verge of breaking down. So he didn't insist and would rather focus on things he knew she would enjoy. He would focus on her for these two months, making every day a beautiful one so Diane could heal and move on. He also took that time off to heal his own wounds and reflect on what happened.

He kept his promise to Diane. He killed the man who hurt her, but he also witnessed her come to his rescue, fight tooth and nail against that man, and overcome her own trauma and fears. He watched her that night, stronger than ever, focused on her task at hand, and successful in saving the lives of the whole family. He saw her paralyzed as well, unable to make a move upon seeing her rapist and torturer. It was messy. Come to think of it, Alex didn't remember when a fight had been so difficult, nor did he remember being so badly injured that he had to go on a short break so he could heal and be efficient.  Months later, he had healed pretty fast, and there was almost no sign of him ever being in a fight, save for his ribs and the bruises on his sides from Dylan's "intense hug".  It didn't matter much because ultimately, he killed that son of a bitch. He killed Dylan, and he helped the woman he loved finally be vindicated.  He heard the faint footsteps of Diane as she walked into the bathroom.

"Are you ready, Alex?" -Her voice was calm, so he quietly looked around so he could see her-

Diane was wearing her natural hair, styled in a big afro puff, tied with a red ribbon. Her dress was to die for, a lovely red sequined backless dress. At her feet were a pair of white stilettos, and the only jewels she wore were a pearl necklace with a long pearly chain on the back and a silver bracelet wrapped around her left wrist. She put some makeup on her face, and her plump lips were now adorned with a glossy chocolate lipstick. She was stunning, and Alex couldn't help but smile at her.  She tilted her head to the side and gave him a sheepish smile.

"I just need a couple of minutes, and we'll be ready to go. Are you ready, Di?"

She nodded, her hazel eyes staring at him. He could no longer feel anger in her eyes since they killed Dylan Atwater. Instead, he felt relief. He felt her relax in a way he had not seen her do before. Her soft eyes averted from his face to his hair, and she slowly ran her fingers through his locks to put his hair in place. For Diane, things have been difficult. Killing Dylan unleashed a flurry of emotions and memories she kept buried deep inside her. She couldn't escape how she felt, the horrors she witnessed, and the pain and helplessness, too. She couldn't hide behind her mission anymore, now that they were all dead. Those ghosts she tried to ignore all those years ago resurfaced, and she saw their faces, locked in agony and fear. There was nothing left but pain and survivor's guilt she had to overcome.  In France, she visited a therapist, renowned for his work with victims of armed conflict. That man helped her face her demons and come to terms with being the only surviving member of her family. He helped her realize that what happened to her wasn't her fault and that nothing could have stopped the perpetrators of such atrocities. He helped her realize that she was a survivor, and she still carried life inside her.

She still could participate in this life and honor the dead by channeling her pain into something positive. Unbeknownst to her therapist, she was doing it in her very own way. Killing people and taking them off the streets definitely helped their victims. Derailing criminal activities involving human traffickers, drug lords, and other people benefiting from people suffering was useful. At least, in her eyes, she was doing something good. In her eyes, she was honoring her family by saving people. Thanks to that man, she had started the difficult healing process, but she was steady on that road, and she wasn't alone. Alex was there, by her side. During their rescue mission and the fight with Dylan, she realized that she was in love with him.  She realized that she wanted to live. She wanted to build a life with him. She needed him to be alive.  It gave her the strength to face her rapist. It gave her the strength to go toe to toe with him and risk her life. She then cupped his cheek and stroked it with her thumb. He turned his head to the side and gave her a sheepish grin. She pinched her lips together and slowly brought her forehead to his in a gentle touch.

"I know it's not the ideal moment to talk about it, but I've been thinking about it for weeks now."

"Tell me, Diane. I'm all ears." -He gently grabbed her wrist and stroked it with his thumb. His blue eyes set upon her face, and she nodded slowly, as if she was gathering her strength to finally let go of the thoughts trapped in her chest-

" You told me a while ago that you had feelings for me, that you loved me. At the time, I wasn't able to say it back. I couldn't find my words because all I was thinking about was that I would die fighting Dylan Atwater. I believed that there was no future left for me once I completed my revenge, so I couldn't in good faith answer you." -She closed her eyes for a brief moment- "But I have found my voice today. During the rescue mission we did, I froze upon seeing that man. All I could think of was the pain he gave me. All I could do was remember that fateful day. I couldn't move, and that child did his best to snap me out of it. I came back because I couldn't let you fight his monster alone.  I had to save you. I had to do my best to help you survive this encounter. I realized back then that I was in love with you, Alex. I wanted to protect you out of love. I didn't say anything after the fight because I wasn't in the right mental space for that. It took a while, but here I am, ready and willing to say it. I love you, Alex. I want to live my life with you. I want...."

He didn't let her finish. Instead, he grabbed her by the back of her neck. He pressed his lips into a hard kiss and snuck an arm around her waist. He pulled her into a tight hug and pressed her body against his. He didn't expect her to voice her feelings, mostly because he knew she loved him. Yet, it was still pleasant to hear it. She loved him. It made his heart soar, and before he knew it, He had pulled her up, so she could wrap her legs around his waist and he could keep on kissing her. He took a couple of steps so she could press her back on the tiled walls of the bathroom, and she could help support her body while his tongue danced with hers.

"I love you too, Diane. " -He managed to whisper in between their lips before he resumed kissing her. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and closed her eyes so she could savor his kiss.  Diane moaned and slowly pulled away from him so she could look at his face. She smiled and pressed a kiss to his forehead. "I'm tempted not to go tonight."

"You know we have to. What would they say if we don't show up, mmhhh?" -She tilted her head to the side and pressed another kiss to his nose.- "I know you care a lot about your reputation, so we better be going. I just wanted to let you know that I loved you. I do. I will always." -She smiled and kissed his lips again in a soft kiss.-

He returned the kiss and slowly put her back on her feet. She was right, he cared about his reputation so much so that it kick-started the events in both Germany and Spain. He stroked her cheek with his thumb and slowly went back to the sink. Diane smiled at him and gently pecked his cheek before she walked away from the bathroom. He looked at his reflection, and a visible smile graced his features. Could it be that he was happy? Could it be that he was finally where he wanted to be in life? With someone he loves and someone who loves him? Could it be that he was finally at peace? With someone who understood what he was doing and who could share that life with him. She wouldn't judge him, and he wouldn't have to hide anything from her. For the first time since Nuria, he felt free.  He adjusted his bowtie again and left the bathroom. Tonight, they were working. They both accepted a contract that took place in the same event, which gave them an excuse to work and stunt together, looking their best. Tonight, they were on a date. Tonight he was happy.

Chronicles of Lux and Tenebrae: The End Realm: part 5: Confrontational

A/ N: Finally, Tenebrae feels he has some leverage against his father.

Xxxxx

As soon as they returned to the glass palace, Tenebrae sat with Lux and explained what he said earlier. He told her everything, about the stories his father used to tell him about his old battles and his identity before he was given the crown of the End Realm. Death was one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Once Time gave him the opportunity to become more at the condition that he banished the other three, he did. Of course, while telling the story, Death didn't mention the way he vanquished his former allies. He didn't tell Tenebrae that he did so with the help of Life and together they sent the horsemen to the Vanishing Point. Lux didn't get to the same conclusion as Tenebrae.

She didn't see just yet the love between her mother and Death, perhaps because she couldn't remember clearly how her mother was and therefore couldn't remember tiny details about her. Instead, she realized that indeed, the only people who could have hurt her mother and have a grudge against her would be the three remaining Horsemen of the Apocalypse. They were the antithesis of her mother, the end of everything. Life couldn't thrive if the four horsemen of Apocalypse were still around and in order for her to gain power and make sure Life could spring on Earth, they had to be stopped. So, to the princess' point of view, it made sense they went after her mother if they were roaming free.

Both heirs were upset at the new, mostly because Tenebrae realized that fighting and defeating the three horsemen would become a task more difficult than he imagined. They were strong, War, Pestilence, and Tenebrae felt he was alone. If the princess couldn't regain her powers, then there was no possibility of them becoming the Alpha and the Omega and he didn't see how they could banish the horsemen like their parents did. It concerned him even more as he scanned the beautiful silver eyes of his beloved and she still had this lost, innocent yet determined gaze on her. Lux might not remember everything, her time spent with the prince was bringing her personality back. She wanted to help. It wasn't just because Tenebrae told her that she had to be avenged and the people who hurt her mother had to pay for it. She could feel it in her bones. She wanted to help.

Death returned from his trip to the Vanishing Point. He had to make sure that his former enemies were still banished. While investigating, the king realized that they did escape from their prison and found princess Despair's scarf abandoned behind. He quickly realized that she might have been the one to break the spell Her hatred for Lux might have been strong enough to cause this catastrophic situation. He returned home fuming a the idea that his former partners were free to do as they pleased and would try to exert their vengeance on him and Life. They have started it, anyway, with the attack on the realm of All Beginnings. Life couldn't be killed by them but her subjects and family could. She lost one of her sons, Lux, and her husband. She wasn't allowed to bring people back to life but Time allowed her to do it only once, with the person of her choice. She chose Lux and it almost sucked all of her energy, forcing the queen into a long coma so she could recover. The horsemen knew this would have been the result and it didn't fail. Death was horrified at the thought of losing Life, but more importantly angry.

He returned to the glass palace and spent some time in the throne room, walking through the evidence he found and trying to think of the best plan to eliminate the threats. Fate told him a while ago that he should not separate Tenebrae and Lux. As tempted as it was, he now realized that she was warning him about the horsemen of Apocalypse and the need to have an Alpha and an Omega to perform the ritual. Under other circumstances, he would have refused to put his son in danger and would have urged Life to perform with him but she was in a coma and he knew her recovery was very slow and could take centuries or millennia before she could eventually wake up. Just as he was thinking of the best way to talk to the children, Tenebrae broke into the throne room. Death looked up to his son and welcomed him with a cold face. As usual, the prince chose to be dramatic, so the father braced himself and drummed his fingers against the armrest of the chair.

«Father! I demand answers! » He said, already speaking with venom in his voice. He surely was angry at his father for having omitted to tell the whole truth about the way he vanquished the horsemen.

« Why are you always so dramatic, son? What is it this time, that has you furrow your brows ? » mused Death with a cynical tone. The young cub tried to look commanding and straightened up to give himself an additional height. Lux was walking behind him, in a gorgeous sleeveless blue dress with diamonds at the rim. The goddess put her hands on her waist and waited for the prince to answer.

«Dramatic? I have always been true to myself, father, I never hid behind a mask like you did. I figured out that the Queen enemies could only be yours. Life could only be threatened by the three horsemen. » The king furrowed his brows, he didn't know what to expect from his son but knew him enough to know that this little jab wasn't all of it. He braced himself but remained emotionless, or appeared to be. Lux noticed the change in his gaze, the tempest that was starting to form. She blinked but couldn't inform the prince who resumed his accusations. « Because of you, they killed the woman I love. » That was said, the venom was spat in Death's face. He held onto the armrests tighter than he intended to and kept staring at his son without a word. « Admit it! You got Lux killed! »

« What do you know about Love, child? » He dryly said.

« I know you are in love with Queen Life. Your love allowed you to defeat your former brothers in arms. Your love is the reason you refused my love for Lux and you separated us. How could we dare be together while you never could? »

Death eyes grew wide and a green light into the jet black of his irises started to dance. He was angry, Lux could tell. The walls started to shake and Tenebrae felt an incredible pressure onto his shoulders, forcing him to kneel before his father. He resisted the best he could but there was no escaping, he couldn't resist. The boy knelt and fought as hard as he could to move. Lux watched as Death stood up, his face turning into a skull as he walked down the small stairs below his throne.

« What do you know about love, Boy. » He spoke, his voice booming through the room and sending shivers down the princess' spine. « You think you can have leverage on me because of this piece of information? You think you could make me feel fear? »

He stood a few steps away from his son who managed to keep his head up so he would stare into his father's eyes sockets. Green flames were dancing where his eyes should have been and it was a terrifying view but not as unusual. After all, Tenebrae also had red flames dancing in his eyes when he truly lashed out at the situation he was forced to be. Lux could still remember him and the flames that were on his skull. Death didn't have flames yet, but she knew it only was a matter of time before he truly lashed out at his son.

« I could care less about making you feel fear, Father. »

« Do you think I am not aware of your shenanigans, Boy? I know how you feel about me. »

« You've never loved me! » Tenebrae sneered. « You had a son out of spite! » He spat at Death who walked around him, ever so slowly and menacingly. Lux, who was kneeling too due to the pressure in the room, managed to look at the king as he strolled around.

« You are dumber than I thought you would be, son, if you ever think I do not love you. All I ever did, when it came to you, came from a place of love. You are my son. MY SON. And I wouldn't want you to be killed because you are not /thinking/ » His green flames then looked down at Tenebrae as he stopped in front of him. « You want my throne but you don't have the shoulders broad enough to rule the End Realm like it should be. You are reckless, impulsive and now it seems, stupid. » His voice was still under control, not too strong so it wouldn't transpire that he was angry, but the energy he was sending in this room proved he actually was even angrier than he looked like.

« Why didn't you tell me you were in love with queen Life? Why did you separate Lux and me? » Tenebrae managed to ask.

« Time told us of a prophecy. He told Life and I that we shouldn't fraternize because it could bring the end of everything. So we didn't. Do I love her, Tenebrae ? I do.» He stared at Lux who sat on her heels as he spoke. She was shocked at his revelations and the casualness he used to answer them. « You seem to think that what you feel for Lux is true love, but this is just puppy love. » He sounded bitter all of a sudden. « True love is watching your one and only getting married to another, bear his children, and love him. True love, is sacrificing your one chance at happiness to make sure she wouldn't die because you were selfish with your feelings. True love.. » As he spoke, his skull started to lit itself with fire. « True love is protecting her daughter and make sure she doesn't die needlessly. I will avenge her and protect you because I love you, son. Whether you believe me or not, I do love you. » He groaned and turned around, walked back to his throne and sat. His face returned to normal, with just green dancing flames in his eyes and he relieved the pressure onto the children before him. As Lux could move, she quickly went next to Tenebrae and wrapped her arms around him.

« Aokay? okay? » He nodded and she turned to look at him. « I don't understand why you show your love and affection to him in such a harsh way. Haven't you thought that maybe, if your son hated you this much it had to do with you being so cold to him? »

« I do not recall requesting your opinion, princess. » Death dryly said, but she had a point, he knew that his son would have loved him better if he had mellowed to him.

« You did not, but I don't need your permission to express myself. » She boldly stated. « I might have lost my memory and not recall your son in the past, the "me" of today was able to see just how much he loved me. You say it's puppy love, but he did unleash his true power to rescue me from a super demon. He is doing his very best to find my enemies and put them out for once and for good. He loved me, so much so that he refused to ask the keeper of secrets how to restore my memory and instead asked how to defeat our enemies. He went against my wishes for the better and took the scorn and the anger I felt towards him because he knew it was for the best. » She cupped Tenebrae's cheeks and looked into his eyes. « He loves me, my king. He loves me so much that he took the risk of being rejected by me and showed me his true face, poured his heart in front of me. He loves me enough to be honest with me, no matter what. And...I am receptive. » She whispered to him, pressing a kiss onto his forehead before she looked at Death who smirked.

« Lux. » Tenebrae wrapped his arms around her waist and looked at his father. « What is our next move...What do we do now that we know who our enemies are? »

« Fate told me that it might not look as it seems. Maybe someone else is pulling the strings. I found Princess Despair's scarf at the Vanishing Point. She's the one who set the horsemen free. »

«How? » Lux asked. « How is it possible? »

« I doubt she was able to do it alone. One of the key element to break the spell of love is to have someone with enough hatred in their heart as well as a spell. Princess Despair doesn't seem to be knowing that spell.. but I have to investigate. »

« Wait, are you saying that the horsemen are just a means to an end? What end? »

« I don't know yet. But we do need to put them back into the vanishing point. You think you are the Alpha and the Omega? Let's see if you can lock them down. I will reach out to them, send them an invitation to a duel and we'll settle this for once and for good. »

« Father... » Death was already lost in his thoughts, he moved his hand to inform the pair to leave him alone. As they left, Tenebrae took Lux's arm and led her to a quiet balcony. She looked at his face and coyly smiled. « You didn't have to interfere with my father and me. »

« I wanted to. » She simply said, her hands on the balcony. Tenebrae cupped her cheeks and stroked the soft ebony skin. « I was afraid he would obliterate me, he was so upset. » She noticed the goosebumps on her arms and chuckled softly.

« But he didn't. » He moistened his lips and looked into her silver eyes. « Did you mean..what you said? »

« About feeling....some type of way? » She danced around it and he nodded frantically. « I meant my words... I'm still figuring things out but...I'm...I like you very much. » She leaned her cheek into his palm and pressed a delicate kiss on his sensitive skin, sending shivers down his spine. « Give me some time, Tenebrae...There is still a lot I need to figure out. »

« You can have all the time you need, Lux...All the time. » He whispered and planted a kiss on top of her head.

Chronicles of Lux and Tenebrae : Pandemonium

A/ N: Fate knows what's up. Death is on his way to help the kids. Tenebrae and Lux are not on good terms after he crossed her with the Keeper of Secrets.  And things are about to become even more confusing.

Xxxxx

One thing the harpies learned when they raised the son of Death: Never anger Tenebrae. Once, when he was just a babe, the young prince was very upset about his father not coming to visit and unconsciously unleashed true horror to the Harpies, to the point that one of them almost died. They managed to calm the boy but decided to do everything in their power to avoid a situation like this one all the while training the kid to use his powers. They discovered he was, indeed, very powerful, so much so that he could stand his own against his own father in a fight that could last millennia. As Lux was walking to Tenebrae's car she felt danger. People around them were fleeing en masse, screaming that there were demons coming their way. There was a simple rule, Deities, demons, and angels wouldn't walk the Earth assuming their true form. Anomalies existed in the form of half-breeds.which existed on both the human plane and the astral plane. There also were those who refused to follow the rule and therefore exposed themselves to mortals.

Lux turned on her heels to warn Tenebrae about the upcoming threat but it was too late. The very reason humans were trying to escape turned out to be a massive demon. Tenebrae was standing tall in front of this monstrosity. It was a giant decaying corpse with a pair of bat wings to match with his disharmonious face. Its flesh was pitch black and seemed to be rotting which could explain the smell. It had long sharp nails and fangs. Lux silver eyes grew wide as she felt some familiarity with the monster. Her fingers started to shake out of frustration because she couldn't recover her memory. Her muscles do remember the gestures she used to have when she fought anomalies with Tenebrae, she still had the urge to draw her sword but couldn't remember how to summon it or if she truly had one. She still had the urge to do something and protect those humans but couldn't move from her spot. Her body was petrified where it stood and Tenebrae quickly understood that. The demon wasn't alone and soon enough they ended up surrounded by a dozen of them.  Under any other circumstance, Tenebrae would have found this quite adorable because demons like these were not a threat to him, but he had to deal with a defenseless Lux and her safety trumped everything else.

« What...What are those? » Lux finally managed to say.

« Demons. » Tenebrae quickly jumped closed to her and answered as he took a defensive position.

« I know they are demons... I meant, why are they here? » She said, holding onto his arm.

« They must have been following me since I left the Fortress.stay right behind me, Lux. »

« Tenebrae... I don't understand... »

And neither did he. Why would demons attack « him » specifically? Her divine aura was way too faint to be noticed by demons like these. Tenebrae had walked the Eart long enough to notice the smallest of differences but for the untrained eye, nobody could distinguish Lux from a normal human. Her powers were still locked due to her memory not returning and therefore she was the most vulnerable she'd ever been and the least to be detected by evil creatures. They followed him and while usually, demons would avoid attacking The son of Death, these were out there to get him. He could feel the electricity in the air and goosebumps cover his alabaster skin. He could handle them, as long as Lux stayed behind him, where he could protect her efficiently, he could handle them. He summoned his long sword, a beautiful silver blade, encased in a sculpted black handle that ended in the shape of a skull. The weapon, like any other divine weaponry, was made out of his energy, which meant he could summon as many as he'd like as long as he had the energy to do it. It could cut through anything and usually, the weakest foes would fall if he hit them with it.

The prince started his attack, swinging his sword and cutting the demons in half. 1 down, 2 down, 3 down. The 6th blocked his attack with its claw, proving to be more resistant and stronger than the 5 previous ones. Tenebrae dodged a bite from the demon but got cut by another one who clawed his back. He turned his head and sent him a blast of dark energy, making it disintegrate on impact. It was too easy and he got cocky really fast. While he was slicing and dicing the demons, he didn't notice that a super-demon made its appearance and grabbed Lux in its giant palms. It was huge, as big as a public floor lamp and already it was lifting Lux to its mouth with the intent of eating her. It was her screams that alerted the Prince of the End Realm and had him turn around, only to witness with horror in his eyes that his beloved could have died right there.

« Tenebrae !!!!! »

She screamed! Outstretching her hand towards him in a desperate attempt at holding his hand. She was breathing hyperventilating, her eyes wide open and tears running down her cheeks. Fear was overwhelming the daughter of Life who didn't know better but to cry for help as her memories were still blocked.

« I'm coming! »

Tenebrae replied, sending a blast to the super-demon that didn't even flinch. He looked at his hands, confused as to why it wasn't working but decided to act rather than think. He sent another blast at the creature that started to chuckle as it pulled Lux up, ready to drop her into its mouth. The prince jet black eyes grew wide and he tried to cut through the super-demon which barely felt the blow.

« TENEBRAE !!!! AAHHH !!! AHHH PLEASE! » She kept crying his name, making his heart beat faster than it ever should. He was starting to panic.

As the creature finally positioned Lux the way it wanted, it dropped her abruptly into its giant mouth. The moment slowed down or appeared to be in slow motion as Tenebrae started to have flashbacks of the past. He saw Lux standing next to him, her glaive and shield in her hands. She had tied her hair in a high ponytail that only complimented the high cheekbones of hers. She was wearing a golden attire made of pants and a tank top with light shoes for the training. He remembered her smile as she contemplated the progress she'd made and the glow in her silver eyes as she looked at him excitedly. Then the flashback gave space to reality where she was still falling into the mouth of the monster and it cut back to yet another flashback where they were fighting anomalies together. He could see how gracefully she slew their enemies, how brutal she was too, punching, biting, kicking flesh when she wasn't slicing it with her blade. It seemed like a lifetime away. The flashback gave space to the present where she was still falling, even slower than before and he locked his pitch black eyes upon the silver ones of the goddess. The sight cut back to the last flashback, one where they were kissing and laughing and hiding from the rest of the world. He still remembered the warmth of her hand against his cold one. He still remembered her scent, and the sound of her voice when she couldn't contain her chuckles. It was enough to push him over the edge.

The harpies still remember the day the young prince was angry. He opened a giant portal from where many giant hands and dark matter shaped like tentacles escaped from and grabbed them all. The hands would have pulled all of them if he wasn't calmed down by his guardians and when asked what it was that he did,  he simply said that the portal was a dimension inside of him. He didn't use this ability often and nobody truly knew what that meant to him. What that made him be. Was he a portal to another dimension? Was it just an ability to make himself stronger? Were those he absorbed still alive or did he drain their essence? Lux, who was still falling, noticed the giant portal that appeared in front of her and the giant hands forcing their way outside. The humans who couldn't escape started to cry and pray and chant in hopes not to be obliterated by the amount of energy and the monstrosities they were witnessing. Her eyes flashed a light for a brief moment as she kept staring at him.

Tenebrae was angry and desperate. His anger stemmed from his fear of losing Lux for all eternity. He couldn't think straight, had little to no control over this form of his. His shadow had expended, to the portal. His hair grew in length, reaching his waist while his nails became longer and sharper. He was still dressed in a human way but there was a blue crown -made of energy- above his head. He outstretched his hand towards the creature, having the huge pale hands from the portal grab the monster and catch Lux safely. The super-demon started to squirm and claw the hands but there were just so many that it couldn't push them away. Tenebrae was snarling the entire time, relishing in the creatures helplessness. The noise became unbearable for the humans who started to bleed from the eyes and ears. There was a reason supernatural creatures stayed in their astral plane. When exposed to too much divine energy like Tenebrae's, humans couldn't survive, they just died. And they did. As the monster was taken away and thrown into the portal, Lux witnessed the poor humans souls that also were taken away to the portal. As the giant hand that held her put her back on the floor, she held the hems of her dress and watched as everything returned to the portal, giant hands, super-demon and human souls. Tenebrae yanked his head back and kept his arms open wide as if he was savoring -and he was!- the moment.

« Tenebrae... » Lux called but he didn't respond, too engrossed by his dinner. « Tenebrae...The humans... » She looked at the lifeless bodies that were laying on the floor and started to shake. «Tenebrae! Wake up! » She called but he didn't respond to her. « Tenebrae.. please! »

She yelled at him, hoping that it would make Tenebrae snap back into reality but it didn't work. She felt a hand grab her shoulder and looked up. It was Death himself.
