Lux-anxious feeding

Slender ebony fingers squeezed the delicate neck of her willing victim. She tilted her head to the side to better access her jugular. Her bat fangs were protruding, ready to gouge away at her throat for blood. Lux would not have hesitated to drink, mostly because she always indulged herself. She would have sunk her teeth deep into the delicate human skin and fed on that beautiful woman without thinking twice about it. Yet, she wasn't at ease. She felt that someone was observing her and she couldn't locate them. Her hunger forced her to refocus on her blood bag.

As she savored the delicious crimson liquid, she felt the uncomfortable sensation of being observed increase. She stopped feeding and focused her attention on the room. It was a beautiful ballroom, filled with hungry night-dwellers and humans. The place was known to be a nightclub for the upper class and few knew that it was a hot spot for the creatures of the night. It was supposed to be a safe place as the rules enforced in the club were that no fights should occur there. Murder wasn't allowed either and was punished by Death.  So for centuries, it was understood that the nightclub was sacred ground and no one violated the rules. So why did she feel oppressed?

Lux licked the blood off of her lips and leaned back in her chair, assuming a relaxed position while she was busy scanning the ballroom. She could identify most of the well-known vampires gathered that night and most seemed to be minding their own business. Briefly, as the superb blonde woman she was drinking from came back to her senses, Lux was distracted. The woman held onto her hand and put it back on her throat as she wanted Lux to feed on her again. It was tempting and the vampire licked her lips for a moment but she shook her head and decided to stroke the blonde's cheek.

"Give it a rest Kelly. I took a lot of blood from you."

"Lux... I probably shouldn't be telling you this but someone asked me to keep you busy tonight."

Lux flashed her fangs at her and grabbed her cheeks in a fit of rage. Why was she informed only now? Who knew enough of her habits to know she liked to feed on Kelly?  Kelly gasped and held onto the vampire's wrists. Lux's red eyes glowed as anger was slowly taking over. She remembered the rules of the club and released Kelly's cheeks.  The woman tried to soothe the pain she felt in her cheeks with gentle strokes before she resumed talking.

"They told me that you needed some strength back and that I should let you feed for most of the night. I.. believed them. I thought I was helping you."

"Who asked you this, Kelly?" -Lux's anger was bubbling at the surface.-

Kelly could tell that she was beside herself and trying her damnest to keep her emotions in check. Had they not been in public, in that specific place, perhaps she would have been tortured to speak or worse. It bothered Lux a lot that her most trusted ally had been approached and literally used against her. Who would want her to be busy? Did they know about her inquiries and private investigation? Aside from Alceste, nobody knew why Lux was trying to locate the elders. They believed she wanted to find their resting places to pay her respects. They believed she was a history buff who wanted nothing more but to know about their origins for her own knowledge of Vampiredom.

It wasn't unheard of, some vampires were attached to old traditions and still lived like a couple centuries ago. Some even went as far as going on pilgrimage to the places their ancestors lived, akin to humans visiting places where their most illustrious kin were born or grew up.   Vampires still wanted to keep a trace of their civilizations and history throughout the ages. Perhaps, a long-lost human trait. perhaps... That was beside the point, however, because while her interest in Elder Vampires wasn't new or shocking, the fact someone was trying to keep tabs on her was.

"He... It was a male vampire. I know he's a French vampire because of the accent. Frederic! I think his name is Frederic!"

"Does he have long blonde hair?" -She nodded- "And does he have green eyes?" -Kelly frantically nodded-"Thank you, Kelly." -She cupped her cheek once again and stroked it with her thumb.- "I appreciate your loyalty to me. I will make sure that nothing happens to you and pretend I don't know Frederic is the one spying on me right now."

"Should I know who this Frederic is?" -Lux shook her head- "Thank you, Lux. He scared the hell out of me and I don't want to meet him ever again.  I assume you're not hungry anymore?"

"You're spot on. I think we can entertain a conversation while I gather my thoughts and think of a way to intercept Frederic to ask him what he wants from me. Please, Kelly, tell me more about your family drama!"

And while the blonde woman started to talk, Lux's attention focused on her surroundings. now that she knew Frederic was the one observing her, she was able to focus on finding him. Vain as he was, he definitely would have been the one observing her. He believed he was superior to her because he was older but like she said to her sire, they had the blood of an elder vampire rushing through their veins, therefore they were far more powerful than even older vampires.  Lux was underestimated by most of her peers, who believed that her oddly shaped teeth made her a runt, easily overpowered by the rest of them. they were mesmerized by her uncanny beauty, even to vampire standards with her red hair and black sclera, but aside from thinking she was an exotic creature, most didn't consider her to be their equal.

It forced Lux to beat them at their own games. Her sire ensured she was well-read, well-traveled, and well-accustomed to their customs and traditions. He wanted to make sure that whatever it was they challenged her with, she was up to the task and even better than most of them. Of course, even Lux had limits and while any young or mediocre vampire could easily be outclassed and outsmarted, some posed an actual challenge and forced Lux to push herself beyond her limitations. Her capacity to always go further earned her some respect but she couldn't shake off the disdain and sense of superiority most older vampires had when it came to her. Frederic was no exception. He was one of the most vocal about rejecting Lux as Aurelius' offspring but he was forced to accept her which always left a bitter taste in his mouth. If he knew she was looking into the elder vampires, perhaps he saw an opportunity to ruin her reputation? She had to figure this out as fast as possible if she didn't want him to become a hindrance in her investigation.

When Kelly decided to leave the party, Lux followed and both went their separate ways after they bid farewell to each other. Lux walked in a dark alley, badly lit by public lighting. She could still feel uneased like in the club and knew that Frederic was following her. She decided to take a turn to a small alley and stopped walking when she was deep into it. She then shrugged and slowly turned around. She was hoping that her guesses were right and that she was indeed followed by the French vampire Frederic. It was a gamble but she was ready to play that game and mentally prepared herself for a fight that night in case she was wrong.

"Perhaps now would be the best time to reveal yourself, Frederic."

Sexual orientation:

Heterosexual

Occupation:

Professional assassin

Abilities:

  • Peak Human Condition:  Phoenix has peak human physicality. She is very athletic, and her strength, durability, speed, agility, stamina, reflexes, and threshold for pain are in top condition.

  • Peak Human Durability: Phoenix is highly resilient and sturdy by human standards. She was able to survive multiple gunshot wounds, stabbings, and blunt force trauma without feeling much of an effect.

  • Peak Human Speed: What Phoenix lacks in strength, she compensates with her speed. She is very fast. In combat, she can move too fast for her opponents to react.

  • Peak Human Agility: Phoenix is also extraordinarily agile in her movements, being able to perform and incorporate various jumps and rolls in her fighting style with ease.

  • Peak Human Stamina: Phoenix has tremendous amounts of stamina. She is able to fight for considerable amounts of time and run for great distances while showing little signs of fatigue. Even when she is injured or tired, she requires little time to recover.

  • Peak Human Reflexes: Phoenix has great reflexes. She has displayed incredibly fast reaction time, as is able to evade bullets and melee attacks during combat with relative ease even from multiple opponents.

  • High Pain Tolerance: Despite her mastery of martial arts and firearms, Phoenix is frequently injured, but demonstrates a very high tolerance to pain.

Skills:

Master Assassin: Phoenix, is one of the best female assassins.  She earned her reputation and nickname when she killed the people responsible for the death of her family and the slaughter of her village at just 9  years old. Since she was recruited by the Anansi children clan, Phoenix was trained to become an assassin. Her ledger is red with the blood of the thousands of people she killed. She takes pride in her work as an assassin, but only when it comes to killing vile people.  Her preferred method to fight is to be as fast as possible and kill everyone he encounters until she reaches her targets.

Master Marksman: Being both a trained assassin as well as a former Belgium Secret Service agent Phoenix is proficient with a variety of firearms, including pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns as well as being able to precisely eliminate targets from a long distance.

Master Martial Artist: Phoenix is a skilled martial artist and hand-to-hand fighter. Her fighting style consists of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, karate, capoeira, and Krav Maga. She can quickly outmaneuver, outmatch or simply outlast her opponents, even being capable of taking on multiple enemies at once. Phoenix is able to adapt to his opponent's fighting styles, studying them during the fight and adapting to negate their strengths. She also sometimes makes use of dirty tactics such as striking the groin, gouging the eyes, or even biting.

Knife Mastery: Phoenix is highly skilled in wielding and throwing knives. They are her most preferred weapons to use and some even call her the knives virtuosa.

Improvised Weapon Mastery: In addition to her impressive skills with firearms and bladed weaponry, Phoenix is very good at using whatever is in her immediate area as an offensive weapon.

Stealth: Phoenix is extremely skilled at breaking into secure locations and escaping without being noticed and she is able to memorize complicated architectural layouts easily. She is also a very skilled con artist and can blend in very easily.

Gifted Intellect: Phoenix was shown to be a very intelligent individual who could outsmart her enemies even under extreme stress and can easily think her way out of dangerous situations.

Master Tactician: As a master hitman, Phoenix is highly capable of casing out, planning, and executing assassinations. However, she cannot exclude how impulsive she could get and how much it could ruin her plans.

Expert Driver:  She is able to kill enemies with vehicles, delivering sideswipes, reverses and head-on collisions to deal with devastating damage.

Expert Motorcyclist: Phoenix is a very talented motorcyclist who is able to evade enemies and even able to engage in combat while cycling.

Skilled Equestrian: Phoenix is able to easily mount and ride a horse through the city to evade enemies, even lowering herself to hang off the side and using the horse as cover while riding with little difficulty.

Skilled Physician: Phoenix appears to have some knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as basic medicine and first aid.

Multilingualism: Phoenix is fluent in several languages, including English, Italian, Lingala, American Sign Language, Arabic, Japanese, French, and Chinese. She uses these skills a number of times when conversing with friends and enemies alike.

Weaknesses

Anger: Phoenix's anger can sometimes blind her. She doesn't know what to feel aside from pure rage for the life she was forced to live. She knew love once, with John, but upon breaking up with him, she realized that she let go of a chance at being happy with him. Anger fuels her heart and soothes her at the same time but she's desperate to set herself free from it. She loses her mind when a child is the victim of murder or is in harm's way. It could lead her to make mistakes or act irrationally and get herself in trouble.

Mortality: Although Phoenix is an extremely efficient assassin, she is still susceptible to dying via injuries, illness, or old age.

Fatalism: Phoenix isn't sure she can escape the life of an assassin. She's convinced that Fate can't be disturbed and it chose them to be the harbinger of death. This could make her feel defeated and her fealty to the table makes it very difficult for her to stray from her education.

Fire:  she also suffers from a fear of fire inherited from when she was a baby because the special unit that slaughtered her family set fire to the house before they found the baby. She was old enough to sit and crawl and although she doesn't remember the events, the fear, pain, and feelings of solitude she felt during the attack resurface whenever there is a fire.

Family

The Preacher (Adoptive Father/ Leader of the Ndrangheta Mob)

Relationships:

John Wick (former boyfriend, and friend)

Affiliation

Belgian secret services

Anansi Children clan (formerly)

Ndrangheta (currently)

The Continental (currently)

Status:

Alive. Active.

Universe:

John Wick

Personality:

Due to her harsh background and being rigorously trained for her childhood and adulthood by The Preacher and her career in the Belgium Secret Services, Phoenix could be described as a very serious and stoic individual who rarely speaks more than is necessary (preferring actions over words and being described as someone who never wastes words) with a strong sense of obligation. As a professional assassin and hitman, Phoenix is highly confident in her abilities and reputation, being greatly respected by many criminal organizations and other assassins alike.

Despite this, she has a strong moral code as well as honor which is rare among her colleagues as Phoenix never willingly drags innocent people to her job or threatens them during it. She abhors colleagues who do so and would personally go after them if she witnesses them kill innocent people (especially children). In spite of her professionalism, she is also friendly and develops strong friendships with many other dangerous people like the Bowery King or John Wick and even managers of Continental Hotels, like Winston and Sofia. Her good side is mostly seen when she interacts with children, it's one of the very few moments she could genuinely be herself and she reveals a kind and loving heart despite how hardened it became.

However, Phoenix is a woman who is worth her reputation as the Daughter of Death for her lethality as he never failed on his missions. Despite her calm and collected behavior, once angered or taken by vengeance, she will stop at nothing until she kills her target no matter who or what stands in her way.

Despite her skills, Phoenix isn't a knight templar and is willing to first talk and negotiate if it's possible. She doesn't hesitate to come to the aid of her friends in the business and could even spare her enemies. Her strong sense of honor also means she makes a point of not allowing innocent people to get caught in the crossfire of her work.

Trivia:

-Phoenix has had a tongue piercing since she is 11.

-She has a slight pain addiction.

-Phoenix  drinks a lot of hard drinks (Vodka is her favorite) but not that much. She doesn't like when she's drunk because she's not a happy drunken woman.

-She is still in love with John Wick.

-She used to have a dog but later had to kill it to prove her loyalty to the Anansi Children Clan. Since then, she wants to own a dog but is afraid something might happen to it and therefore is blocked when it comes to taking a decision regarding owning a dog or not.

A vintage's touch: "the fear within"

A vintage's touch: "the fear within"

// I love our babies <3

"Distance is exactly what  you should want." It felt like an eternity since Tommy tried to push Mary away from him. He remembered trying to hold back from her, to keep her within arms reach but far away from his aching heart. He knew he would hurt her, whether he wanted it or not. he would hurt her because of the life he lead. He would hurt her because....Because... Tommy had tried to reason with Mary on her birthday night. He had tried to keep things the way they were between the two of them because if he didn't let her in if he truly wanted her then how could he look away from her? He hoped for Mary to go with the motion and accept that there would be nothing between the two of them, that the status quo would work best. Deep down, Tommy was hoping she would not have him look into his heart and that she would not awaken feelings he swore to never feel again. Tommy was terrified, he was terrified of the feelings he felt for Mary. Polly clocked him right. She realized he was in love with Mary way before he could admit it to himself. She knew that Tommy would be scared of Mary being harmed. She knew he wouldn't be able to recover if she was hurt, especially if it was because of him. grace's Death taught him a thing or two and he wouldn't be caught failing Mary the way he failed Grace.

"You know exactly the kind of danger that this life can bring down on you. You just escaped all the shit that your husband brought down on you. Why would you want to go diving right back into it, eh?" Those words....Tommy said them in hopes that Mary would give up. He was hoping that she would be safer if they didn't explore their feelings for each other. Tommy knew he wasn't blind. He knew that Mary was in love with him. He knew it from everybody (yes, even Arthur was able to see it) and he knew it from her, from the behavior she had whenever he was here. He knew he was the only one to make her laugh, the only one who could help her feel safe and relaxed. Hell, he knew the way she felt when they were sleeping next to each other. Her heartbeats were calm and steady, and her breathing was relaxed and soft. When she was in a deep sleep, Tommy sometimes looked at her peaceful face and the wild locks that fell onto it. He let his fingers brush over the soft skin of her shoulders and he could feel her warmth. She was so warm... so soft... so sweet when she whispered his name or when she chuckled and nuzzled his neck before she fell asleep. It was nice, come to think of it, to be able to sleep next to someone who cared for you. It was nice to have one's nightmares cease to exist because she was lying next to you. Who was he kidding? Tommy was in love with Mary. She knew it too.

"I will only hurt you." Loving a Shelby wasn't the easiest task for anyone. It was either pain or death and rarely happiness. Yet, Mary managed to help them have a good life. She was a good woman, that much he could tell. She was a good woman and she made his son... their son, happy. She was a good woman and she made him happy. But Tommy had his own demons to fight, and the ghost of Grace was still lurking, the past of debauchery and his former lovers were still there. Alcohol, cigarettes, sex... so many vices he had and couldn't part ways with, so many reasons to hurt the woman he loved.  He had not cheated on her, per se, but before they had sex a second time, Tommy fucked women. May Carleton, Jesse Edens, unnamed whores, you named it, he fucked it.  Just days before Mary and he got together, he had fucked Lizzie, all transactional in his mind but not in hers. That hurt Mary, Tommy could see it plain as day.  he hurt her and still, the nurse stayed by his side.  She called him out on it, but she remained. Still, he warned her but she told him she didn't care, she knew who he was and what he did. She could take it.

"If someone else fucking touched you, I'd have to kill him like I did the others, now wouldn't I?" Those words came off like a warning but in truth, they hid the fear that had been eating Tommy away ever since Mary came to live in his house. He was terrified of her finding a better suitor than him. He wouldn't be able to accept it, to handle it, the idea that someone, somewhere, was able to snatch his girl off of him. The idea that someone would charm Mary and show her something he could not give her which is stability was haunting the Shelby. The idea that she found someone who would treat her right, who would be everything he wasn't: without blood on his hands, without the urge to conquer the world, and who would be present in a way that he wasn't. He couldn't handle being left by Mary. He couldn't handle losing the one person who made him feel whole, alive, and loved. Mary... As soon as he finally noticed her, caught his attention with her kindness and understanding. She was compassionate, she understood him. She knew who he was and what he was and never once, tried to change him. She never asked him to become someone else, she never asked him to stop trying to reach for the sky. She loved him as he was. She loved him as he was.... and it could all disappear if he didn't pay attention. She could be gone if he didn't make her feel loved and with Mary gone, his last shred of sanity would go too.  So he was afraid, more than he cared to admit. he was afraid... but all of this vanished upon seeing her.

A vintage's touch: "Family affairs"

Arthur made a choice. He could have left for California with Linda after they believed he was dead. He would have been given a new identity, and he would have been able to start over and raise his son. He would have been able to put his guilt for the deaths of both John and Grace, aside. but he couldn't. He couldn't leave. He wanted to stay with his family, keep an eye on Tommy and protect his little (and remaining brother). He wanted to watch after Mary and ensure her safety because she was the only thing that kept Tommy from consuming himself.  Arthur made a choice, and despite his love for Linda and his devotion to her religion, deep down, Arthur was unable to keep away from his old ways. He was a man shaped by violence, molded by Death, and unable to cope without drugs and sex.

Mary asked him, once, why he felt compelled to cheat on his wife. She wanted to understand his behavior and gave him a chance to think things through and find an explanation for his actions. What did he tell her? What could he tell her? Arthur assumed that he couldn't help but self-sabotage. He couldn't handle being with a loving and devoted woman like Linda. According to Mary, Arthur refused to see her for who she really was and instead put her on a pedestal. Deep down, he knew that Linda wasn't perfect, but she managed to help him get sober. She managed to help him get back on his feet! She gave him a son! So in his book, Linda was perfect! She saw the good in him despite what his hands were capable of. She saw the good in him despite his tendency to try and escape reality. Still... He made a choice.

Arthur made a choice and he was having a hard time staying sober. Mary was helping him, as a nurse, but also as a friend and a member of the family. She cared for him when no one would -except maybe Ada-  and he appreciated it more than words could tell.  While Mary was ensuring he was slowly being weaned off the drug, Arthur held onto her hand and set his blue eyes upon her green ones.  He was feverish but conscious enough to let her know that he was grateful for her. He was conscious enough to tell her that he didn't deserve her care and she should just leave him. Upon her refusal to do so, Arthur ended up sobbing, asking for forgiveness, and begging Mary to stay by his side. "Don't leave me, Mary. Please. Don't leave me... Don't leave Tommy. He needs you. he won't say it but he needs you, Mary." She smiled at him and ran her hand over his hair. "Hush Hush....Arthur, I'm not leaving you. I'm not leaving any of you... Rest Arthur...I'm here."

COPG: it all happened in a blink of an eye

"It all happened in a blink of an eye.  The people I trusted the most betrayed me. The one who cursed me did so because he couldn't kill me. He had to be the last face I saw before I fainted. He had to be the last thing I knew before my curse began.

I lost everyone. the family I thought was mine showed me their true color. The family I believed would love me had been playing a role my whole existence. They never loved me, they never cared. So... I lost them. I lost them... and I lost Pride too.

He got unmade and remade and he came back as something new. I lost my power and my name... I was erased from all of existence. I came back because Pride remembered me. I came back to life and existence thanks to him but in the process, I realized all the things I have lost. There was nothing left for me... nothing.... nothing...... but at least someone... Superbia. "

A vintage's touch: a brother's love -Arthur x Mary-

A vintage's touch: a  brother's love -Arthur x Mary-

// Not in a sappy mood, eh?

Arthur loved Mary like he loved Ada. She was a sister to him, someone who understood his very soul. Mary was not afraid of Arthur, not even when he started to get loud, restless, and violent. Not even when he was beside himself, did she feel fear. She wasn't afraid of him. After Grace's death, the eldest Shelby protected Mary like a bloodhound. He wanted to make sure she was safe, wherever she was and for a while, his motivation for staying sober was so that he would be sharp enough to be able to protect her. Arthur couldn't tell his brother that he had dreams.. or most likely nightmares about the death of the young woman. How could he survive losing Mary? how could he survive being responsible for not having been able to protect her like he vowed he would?

Arthur loved Mary like he loved Ada. She went through the same ordeal as he did. She understood his addiction for she shared the same with alcohol. She was drowning her sadness with liquid fire and was trying to move forward the best she could. She understood him and she was compassionate. She was patient. She welcomed him with arms wide open whenever he knocked at her door, looking for Tommy and drunk out of his mind. Night and Day, the hallucinations and daydreams strangled him with fear. He couldn't properly sleep because he had flashes of her bloodied and battered body against his. He had flashes of his tears, of the blood-curdling screams he would let out in the event of her death. How could he imagine losing Mary?

Arthur loved Mary like he loved Ada. He wanted her to be happy. It tore his heart apart to see him suffer. It hurt him to see the fresh tears that had rolled down her cheeks. It hurt him to see her lose Hope. She wouldn't say it, but Arthur knew she was hurt by the lack of commitment from his brother. She wanted him to claim his love for her, to make their relationship proper. She wanted to be reassured that she wasn't just a replacement for his former wife. She wanted to be reassured that she wasn't just there to raise his child. She wanted to be told he wanted to share his life with her. Tommy wasn't sappy. He wasn't romantic anymore. War had changed his brother. War had made Tommy colder, distant, and secretive. Yet, he had a woman who loved him. He had a good woman who loved everything that he was, and who understood him more than any other person.  yet, he stalled... Yet he deflected... yet he made her wait and Mary would wait but she wouldn't do it forever.

So she could leave. And if she left, who would understand Arthur?

Who would see the good he could bring?

Who would reassure him the way Mary did?

NMT FANCAST.

A little exercise I was asked today. Should the book be turned into a movie, what would be my dreamcast and why? Also those characters appear or are mentioned in the first book. (I only focused on the most important ones)

Asma Jensen = Aja Naomi King. She is an excellent actress who can showcase the complex emotions that go through her mind. She can be strong, sensitive, fragile, hysterical but also brave, caring, loving and she is gorgeous! Asma struggles a lot and I really want her to be done justice. A good wig and beautiful make-up and she'll be ready to go. I am very protective of my main character, I love her so much. I want her to be portrayed by someone who can give her justice.

"The President" Nëela Olusegun =Ana Diop. I can't see anyone else who would be able to carry both Nëela's strength and vulnerability as Ana. (Well, that's a lie because Yetide Badaki is awesome). She honestly is a wonderful actress whose range I know more than Yetide (but she's second choice). She is magnetic, sexy, poised and honestly I can see her portray my President beautifully.

Abel Olusegun = Yaya Abdul Mateen. He's the loyal husband of the President and fought the "Last Rebellion" alongside her. He is strong, keeps to himself except when they are together. she's the only one he trusts therefore, she's the only one who can see him as he truly is. He's the Captain of the Elite (think of it as the Swat team who only tackles the most dangerous threats). Yaya has the range. He can portray anger, calm, he can be credible as a wise person, he's still young and he is charismatic.

Ivanna Markolvich (last name might change) = Syndey Lemmon. She was phenomenal in the Hellstrom tv show. She has the presence, the physical features, an uncanny beauty (or at least, a FACE) that works very well with my assassin/ Spy. Ivanna is a prized member of the Elite. she's been saved by Nêela during the last rebellion and became loyal to her. She's calm, only speaks when she wants to, is actually very traumatized and hasn't fully healed when the story begins. she's very close to Nëela.

Sodih Benh = Mary Wiseman. She was excellent in Star Trek Discovery and I honestly really loved her there. she made me smile and she made me cry. she's very bright and I think she can bring this charm, joy and vulnerability to my character Sodih. She's the pilot of the Elite. very happy-go-lucky and very loving. she's not mothering the group however, but rather, is concerned about them and can absolutely be uspet at them. Sodih has been saved by Nëela during the last rebellion and believes in her but her family rejected her for joining who they basically consider a traitor's rank.

"Ambassador" Aid'Ahn = Lee Pace. Well, do we need to introduce the guy? I think Lee Pace could absolutely channel the ambiguity of this character. he is charming, menacing, secretive, calculated and can be either cold and cruel or warm and lovely. This character plays a key role in the book but the extent of it would be known in the second book. I love him already and I needed a great actor and gorgeous face to play him.

"Empress" Sun Kwan = Zhang Ziyi. She is the second "young revolutionaries" leader. She fought alongside Nëela to set their people (The Metroians) free from the tyranical rule of the other ethnicity (the Dynasties). She is drop dead gorgeous, delicate, a cold lady with an iron fist which is needed since her power is challenged all the time. She is mentioned but will play a bigger role in the second book.

Axl Azuma = Mousa Kraish. Axl is a very important character. He is the notable of the biggest Dynasties neighbourhood. He is a handsome man, a good man who treats everyone with respect and has strong values. he keeps to himself but he was able to strike a nice friendship with Asma. I love him and I love the actor. you can see him in American gods first season. He's the Djinn.

"The King" Beastmaster = Florian Munteanu. He shook me in Creed II. I honestly need to see him in another movie and why wouldn't it be about my book? Beastmaster is the last "Young Revolutionaries" with Nëela and Sun Kwan. He is a very radical Metroian who doesn't want a single Dynastie alive in his continent. He still remains courteous and benevolent with other Metroians. He is traumatized by what his people went through for millennia and is absolutely cynical and absolutist. I needed someone who could both play vulnerability and strength.

"Deci-Bel" Chandra = Rachel Skarsten. Chandra is a very pivotal character. The impact she left in the book is everlasting and we will not forget about her in the other books. She's angry, hurt, disappointed and desperate and I think that Rachel can actually play the part well. Besides, her features are striking and her acting range is phenomenal. I can't say more about Deci-Bel because it would spoil the whole book, but she's as important as a nose is to breathe. :p

(Also, I won't add Angela Bassett's picture but she's supposed to be Asma's mother)

Doya; Sam x Oya: A mean dream

Sam woke up upset and since then, had tried to shake this feeling off. Neither the cold shower or the endless stream of coffee he had that morning could make him feel less tense. It had been a while since he actually had a dream, but this one was upsetting. It felt like a premonition and while the younger Winchester brother was skeptical he knew it was entirely possible. Oya's behavior was strange ever since she came back from her latest mission. She acted as if something was after her and accordingly was suspicious of everything. She jumped whenever he entered her room, threw knives at him if he didn't announce his presence and even more strange than usual, she didn't mention Dean. Oya would have talked his brother from the moment she stepped into the bunker and yet, several days later, she had not said anything. His name didn't even cross her lips so of course, Sam was worried. She looked at him like she used to when she wanted to run away. Her eyes would twitch as she would look anywhere but at him. Her bags would be packed and he suspected that she had packed them already. And there was his dream.

Sam dreamed that Oya encountered his worst enemy, Lucifer. He was certain of two things. Lucifer was Oya's worst nightmare came true but she also would do anything to protect the brothers, even from the devil. He knew how much Oya hated angels and feared demons. He knew that they populated her daily nightmares and shook her to the core. He also knew she swore on her life that she would rather die than let anything happened to them because as she said « Dean needed Sam and Sam needed Dean » and she would never allow the brothers to be separated. Oya was an adult, Her life was hers but it bothered Sam to no end to know that she would be foolish enough to die for them. Too many of their friends and family died to protect them and preserve their connection. Too many of their friends and family sacrificed themselves for them and Sam just could not take it any longer. Oya was special in his heart. She wasn't just some passerby. She was part of their family, just like Kevin, Bobby and Charlie were. She made herself a room into his heart and for someone who thought he wouldn't love anymore, Sam surprised himself loving Oya's presence in his life...loving her like the damn sister he never had. So of course, the thought of her death, at the hands of Lucifer in the most excruciating way haunted Sam since he woke up. Whenever he looked at her, he heard her screams, he saw her blood-soaked face and it broke his heart. He was in the war room, drinking his nth cup of coffee while looking at the newspapers for noteworthy cases he could work with Oya. Dean wasn't home and wouldn't be for quite so time so it seemed that the two of them would go for a ride.

GoT: The bitter taste of freedom

// All the usual disclaimers

Bäahal was still shaking as she slammed the door of Tyrion's private quarter behind her. Her fingers barely held onto her daggers as she walked away from him. Her long silver locks waved as she hastily escaped from the castle to rush to the stairs with the formidable view. There, she had enough space to breathe and could focus on the flying dragons or the calm sea rather than her thoughts. As soon as the fresh salty scent of the sea tickled her nostrils, Bäahal slowed down. She looked around herself and sighed in relief that nobody seemed to be around.

Fragments of her conversation with Tyrion echoed through her mind. She could still see him sitting at his desk with a glass of wine in his hand and his piercing blue eyes staring at her. He was a cornered animal, one who knew that there was little to no chance for him to be listened to if Daenerys kept allowing Jon Snow in her heart. Tyrion wasn't blind, he could tell there was an attraction between the king of Ice and the Queen of Fire and Tyrion knew that an attraction like this if nurtured could mean he would not be relevant to the queen anymore. it was threatening despite Jon being oblivious to the consequences of his presence. Jon was a good man with a good heart. Tyrion genuinely respected him but he couldn't possibly ignore himself in the process.

And Bäahal was aware of it. She saw clearly through Tyrion's bravado. He went through many hardships that at some point, almost claimed his life several times. While he wasn't a slave because of his blood, Tyrion's entire existence was akin to a slave's. He was a prisoner of his desire to be considered a legitimate member of his family. He was a prisoner of his thirst for love and acknowledgment from his siblings. He was a prisoner of his desire to mean something and he did find a meaning of his life in the presence of Daenerys. She gave him a purpose, she cleansed him of his past deeds. He was reborn, he was anew and this fragile balance he succeeded in finding when they were ruling Mereen, suddenly collapsed at the mere presence of Jon. So he had to make his move, he had to out Bäahal and reveal her true identity to Daenerys.

"You had no right to tell Daenerys about my lineage. You had no right to rob me of this moment." -The half-breed said to Tyrion, both her hands still on the table since she had stabbed it with her dagger.-

"I had every right to inform my queen about the people who are around her. You, of all people, should know that the best relationships are based on trust and you weren't being honest with her." -He scoffed at her-

"Speak for yourself. I was a nobody when you all found me. I was a slave. Do you think that having a last name would change anything?" -She meant her words and so much so that it sounded like she had just laid her heart on the table. Tyrion noticed she was too angry to notice it.-

" You are angry, Bäahal. Your anger is lingering on the surface, ready to explode. You also are very difficult to read and I needed to.."-He was cut short by Bäahal who grabbed the dagger that was on the table, slowly pushing it out of the hole she created-

"You are afraid that your fear is targeting the wrong person. You are afraid that Jon Snow takes away Daenerys from you. Maybe you should have addressed that instead of interfering in stories that aren't yours." - And she left the room, running as fast as she could from this man and his biting tongue.-

Thinking of this conversation sent shivers down her spine. The outcome might have been in her favor; with Daenerys cautiously embracing this sibling and giving her a Last name she could rightfully claim; It didn't sit right with the half-breed. She didn't know what to do with the last name: Targaryen. She didn't feel like earning a name. After all, she was the product of the rape of an albino slave by the hand of Aerys II. She was the result of violence. Her mother was brave enough to forgive her daughter for the sin of her father but that guilt and rage and sorrow was carried over her shoulders anyway. Shame for being the unwanted reject of an unloved and insane King. Shame for enduring the dehumanizing tortures of her masters while her spirit dreamed of freedom. Shame and anger for having been deprived of a decent life, of having her mother executed when she tried to save her life, of being unable to connect to people..of her growing feelings for the King of the North while her sister was also growing feelings.

It was blinding her. Being free that was. She could be called "Lady", she was treated with a respect she had never witnessed before. She was finally seen. It was strange, even for the one who had seen everything and Bäahal the resilient didn't know how to handle everything. What could she do? Jon asked her what was her true desire when he found her at this exact spot moons ago. He asked her what /she/ truly wanted and Bäahal was unable to come up with an honest answer. She said she wanted Daenerys to reign on the seven kingdoms and she was honest when she said so, but this wasn't her true desire. It was by default because she had never taken the time to think about herself, for herself/ She was used to serving others and she chose to serve her sister. It was a no-brainer and yet, Jon's question broke Bäahal... because she realized there was nothing about her she could say. She had desired freedom and she had obtained it. It never occurred to her to think of what would come next and it was terrifying.

Tyrion stole her the right to come out as a Targaryen half-breed when she chose to disclose this information to the queen and it hurt. It hurt even more than any flesh wounds and torture she ever had to endure. She felt exposed in ways she had no before and the looks in both Jon and Daenerys faces were enough to make her want to bury herself in the ocean. Shame... it was shame and guilt, mixed with the fear of losing this newly acquired family. Dany chose otherwise, which was a relief. Bäahal felt the cold wind blow on her face and before she knew, some tears rolled down her ebony cheeks. She had been holding them back for so long that she didn't realize she was crying until after she cried some tears. She suddenly remembered the conversation she had with the Stark. How gentle he was when he addressed her. How considerate of her humanity he was when he called her "lady" rather than use familiarities. She still remembered his face, the face of an honest man like she had rarely seen. She could still feel the warmth of his hand as he touched her shoulder in an attempt to calm her. His scent that lingered on her for hours before she bathed. His dark curls, his worried crease in the middle of his face and the way he chuckled when she was teasing him. She knew her heart was feeling something she had never felt before and it worried her that her own selfish desires might clash with her sister's and who was she to deny Daenerys the joy of being loved like she would certainly love Jon? Who was she to interfere? she, who was a nobody.. a slave.. a thing.

Everything was confusing for her but the only thing she was sure of was her urge to survive. She still didn't feel at peace and knew that she wasn't done fighting.

Chronicles of Lux and Tenebrae: A father's burden

A/ N: Because I was thinking a lot about him. They all belong to me!

xxx xxx

Death had just finished talking to his son through one of his minions. The conversation didn't go very well as he expected Tenebrae constantly opposed him. The king of the End realm was aware of his son's desire to set himself free from what he perceived as oppression. Tenebrae wasn't wrong. Death ruled his kingdom with an iron fist, which was necessary if he wanted to preserve the fabric of the universe. The deity was tense since he learned Life and the Realm of All Beginnings were attacked. Who would be powerful enough to kill Lux and cause serious damage to Life herself? Not many entities could. He went to visit Time himself but came back empty-handed. Time didn't orchestrate the attack. What would be the point in killing Life if not to disrupt the whole universe? What would he gain from such an action? Nothing. Their conversations, however, hinted strongly at Death being the potential real target or his son.

Nobody expected Death to have an heir. What would be the point if he was the end game? Tenebrae's existence was itself a threat to many who believed that the prince was vastly powerful, if not more powerful than his father and viewed his relationship with Lux as being potentially threatening their entire existence. Who could blame them? Time himself decided that Death and Life couldn't fraternize and act on their feelings. Lux and Tenebrae, whenever they touched, caused sparkles of unknown consequences. What could happen if they both had an offspring? Death couldn't ignore the fact that many weren't happy with him having a son, which prompted him to observe Tenebrae from afar. He wouldn't physically be there unless one of his spies informed him of an impending threat that went beyond his son's power but he would keep an eye on him. While Tenebrae would ask the Keeper of Secrets, Death decided to keep investigating. Time was off the table, but he knew of another powerful entity who could have had a say in his son's and Life's son's destiny. Fate.

He rode his undead Stallion «  to Fate's realm. A green palace of pure delight, with an architecture made of the finest glass one, could ever see. It was empty for she didn't have a court like Life or Death. It was just filled with intricate floral designs and extinct animals that were free to frolic in the place. The throne room, where Fate received the rare visitors she actually had -unlike her husband, Time who was always requested- had a throne made of glass and was wearing a long green sleeveless dress. Her skin was beige, her hair was shoulder lengthed and styled in a bob cut and parted in the middle. She was wearing a golden crown made of leaves, à la roman and her eyes were green orbs. As she saw the King of the End Realm, a soft smirk crept on her crimson lips.

« I was expecting you'd come earlier than that. »

« Spare me your sarcasm, Fate. You know very well why I am here. »

Death slightly bowed in front of her in order to pay homage to the queen who lifted her eyebrows but smiled at him nonetheless. He was handsome in his leather coat; with his long white hair teasing the small of his back. His black eyes stared into the green orbs of the deity whose grin grew larger. She leaned her elbow against her lap and bent forward a little bit.

« I do know, indeed. I have some answers for you but I am not sure you would want to listen to what I have to say. »

« Try me. » -He said, crossing his arms over his large chest. He curbed a brow, waiting for her to play his mind like she always did.-

Fate was extremely powerful, she wasn't as powerful as Death per say, but her power wasn't to be underestimated since she could influence the very existence of those gods. While the Keeper of Secret knew everything about everything and everyone but was limited by the « one question only » rule, Fate could predict the future and decide whether or not she wanted it to happen. While her influence was more effective on humans, she still could have a way to intervene in divine matters and was feared and respected by the gods for this very reason. She could mess up with your life, force you to endure a fate that was worse than what was supposed to happen. No wonder Death threaded carefully with her. She grinned at him, her eyes flashing a bright green light before she leaned back into her throne and shrugged her shoulders.

« Well... Let's begin with something you already know. Your son and Life's daughter's lives are entwined. They share a bond that nobody could destroy, not even you...or me. We could say that fate brought them together. » -She claimed-

« Time warned me that we shouldn't fraternize. Our children can't be together... » -He observed, eliciting a frown from the goddess.-

« Have you asked yourself why Time decided something so arbitrary when he himself, fraternized with /me /? » It made Death curb a brow.

« What do you mean? » -He commanded but she brushed him off with another shrug-

« All I'm saying is that Tenebrae and Lux cannot be torn apart and shouldn't. Yes, I know you're wondering why I am telling you this but You know I refuse to reveal what lies in the future. At least, not all of it. »

She winked at him and stood up. Death was staring at her, cold and unreadable as he didn't want her to guess his feelings and act on it. Fate was undeniably gorgeous but it wasn't her beauty that troubled the pale god, no, it was her cryptic words about his son. He watched, unimpressed, as the goddess feather touched his strong arm and leaned her forehead against his shoulder.

« Are you suggesting that they were attacked because Life and I separated our children? » He questioned. Fate grinned and tapped his shoulder.

« It wasn't just your responsibility. Someone else had a hand to play and if you keep looking, you will soon see the whole picture. » She then furrowed her brows. « I am doing you a favor here. I want you to succeed. Those who attacked Life and killed Lux would come back, stronger, far stronger than you can imagine. »

« Do I know them? » She looked up to his eyes and nodded quietly. « Who are they? »

« I cannot say their names. » She started with, biting her bottom lip but Death lost patience and grabbed her shoulders.

« Enough with your games, Fate! Our children lives are at stakes. Life barely brought her own daughter to Life and if I lose my son...Tell me who my enemies are. »

« I cannot do this. I can, however, twist my fundamental rule to help you find the answer yourself. You do need to follow the children and ensure they get to the Keeper of Secrets safe and sound. They aren't aware yet of the great dangers that would come their way and Lux hasn't been fully restored and is dependent on your son. Tenebrae and Lux are the keys..our only true saviors. They must /not/ die. They must not. »

She stopped pretending for a moment and a brief flash of anguish and fear actually crossed her eyes. Death realized that the goddess was genuinely scared. He had never seen her act like this or twist her own rules to give him enough information about the situation. While she didn't directly point at him, she did accuse Time of being behind the attacks and the rule against Life and Him being able to love one another. It didn't make sense to him at first, but he kept the information somewhere in his mind. He would come after Time once he was sure his child was safe and Life came back from her self-imposed coma. He stroked Fate's cheek with the back of his cold hand and turned around.

« Thank you for your words. I will make sure they safely get to the keeper of Secret and stay alive. »

« You don't know who you are up against. There are forces that are far more powerful than you when combined... or alone. I wish your kids to survive and for Life to return to us but... » She said, allowing her fingers to trace the heard lines of his leather-clad back. « You could die...We... could die. Play your part carefully. Be smart. »

« Always. Farewell Fate. I hope to see you again soon. »

He said as he left her realm. As he rode his pallid stallion, Death was processing the words of Fate. If she was right, then he had more questions to ask that he thought he had.

Doya: Married to the job part 2 (end)

//All the usual disclaimers. It's bloody but I didn't describe it too much. //

Oya was standing near a pile of corpses. The house was the only one on that hill, which allowed for the surviving hunters to gather the bodies of their assailants and start a fire, to prevent them from returning from the dead as ghosts or other monstrosities. Oya watched the fire burn the bodies with an absent gaze. She promised Dean she would be back in one piece, but her body was bruised, she had a swollen left eye, cuts on her arms, belly, and lips. Her shirt was soaked with blood, hers and her assailants. Her hair was soaked with blood as well and her arms were drenched in it. She looked like a mess, but she survived. Next to her was a disheveled and injured Sarah, shaking still that she had to kill humans who came to attack her in her house. Joshua was next to them, held by an injured Tyler who as also watching that bonfire.

When Joshua didn't come for his own dad's anniversary, Oya was starting to feel suspicious. Sarah lost patience and the two left the cemetery to enjoy the meal Sarah prepared the eve. Bethany, Joshua's girlfriend wasn't in town that week and Sarah's husband took the twins to visit his parents, so Sarah and Oya were alone in the big family house. Joshua was supposed to join his sister and Oya at the cemetery but he never showed up, which didn't make them worry at first. Instead, since they were pissed off, both women traded stories about Henry and his legendary temper. He was a good man and an excellent mentor but he was very harsh, harsher than her own father. He was Oya's father's best friend and a second father figure to her, to the point that when he died, her family mourned him like they would mourn their own.

As the two women heard the front door slam hard, they walked towards it, only to find an injured Joshua and Tyler, who was Joshua's best friend and partner.  Oya became tense at the sight of Joshua and quickly helped Tyler bring him upstairs, to her bedroom. It was the closest to the stairs and there was a first aid kit in her bags. The ebony hunter turned her face to Tyler, a handsome blonde guy whose shirt was stained with Joshua's blood. His hands were coated with the crimson liquid and he was shaking. he seemed pretty roughed up and was barely able to stand up. Given the circumstances, Oya was starting to suspect they were running away from something. Tyler kept on looking at the window as if he was expecting something or someone to come and knock at their door.

"What happened?" -She asked, almost sounding clinical.-

"We have to move.." He breathlessly said. "We have to move now." Oya eyes shot him an angry glare and she repeated.

"What /Happened/?"  She asked, cleaning Joshua's wound with alcohol.

"Our last case....We uncovered a cult that was kidnapping kids and using them as offerings for a demon. We.. We decided to take them down by ourselves but we didn't know they had a demon with them. Jake and Carl died. Joshua got hurt and I took him here. The demon was taken down but the humans... they followed me. They're coming here."

Sarah made sure the doors and windows were closed and blocked with chairs before she went upstairs. She walked towards Tyler and punched him hard in the face.

"How dare you?!!! You were FOLLOWED? This is the house I raise my kids! my toddlers! How could you be so reckless?!" Joshua groaned in pain and rolled on his side to look at his sister.

"Sarah, I swear, we didn't think.."

"That's your problem, Josh! You never think things through! Why do you think I wanted to be out of this life? I didn't want that! I didn't want the constant danger!" She held back some tears and wiped her mouth. "How long do we have before they come?"

"Roughly? They might already be here." He said. "I'm sorry Sarah. we didn't mean to...We didn't mean.. fuck!" He groaned and rubbed his face, soaking it with the blood of Joshua.

"I have weapons in my bag."

"You came in my house with weapons?" Sarah almost yelled, but she shook her head. "Of course! you're a  hunter. What kind of weapons?"

"I always come prepared, you know I do. you have funs, batons, knives... a couple of grenades just in case. Joshua, can you fight?" Joshua nodded.

"I won't be able to stand up, but I can shoot."

"You're going to stay in the room with Tyler. Sarah..." Oya turned her head to look at her sternly. "I know you're pissed and I'm gonna need you to be pissed at our enemies. We're going downstairs and get as many as we can get. How many are they Tyler?"

"I-I-I don't know.. 5.. maybe 6! I don't know Oya! Shit! SHIT!"

"It's alright! calm down. We can handle 6 assholes if we really want to." Oya sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "I'll gear up. Josh, You better stay alive." She said as she opened her bag and grabbed her two golden magnum 45 and her African combat knife. She wouldn't need more than these to take down her enemies. Sarah grabbed a pair of batons for she hated guns and refused to use them and the two went downstairs.

"Oya... If we make it tonight, I want you to promise me something."

"Depends on what it is." Oya's senses were acute as she was now paying attention to her surroundings for any unusual noise.

"Come see us more often. We haven't seen you in the last 3 years. "

"You know what it is.. I have to hit the road, I have to go hunt.."

"And you're in Lawrence from what I heard. you live with the Winchesters...You don't always hunt, you could stop by Oya!"

Her voice was full of bitterness and Oya pinched her lips as she didn't want to respond to that with more venom. There was a reason she avoided the Thomas. She would always remember their dad and ultimately hers. How sad he was when he told her about the death of his best friend, how lonely she felt when her family was slaughtered.. how much she cried for Henry's death and the emptiness she felt whenever she thought of him. She couldn't come back to his house more than once a year for his anniversary because it was less painful. Lawrence was good, she didn't have to think, she didn't have to feel. She might have turned the page on her family life, she still had a lot of issues...So she wouldn't think, she wouldn't come back to Phoenix and she would certainly NOT pay more than once a visit to the Thomas.

"I'll try."

"How come you'll /Try/ We are your family! you should..."  Sarah sighed and lowered her voice. "You should come more often and at least see /my/ kids grow up!"

"Fuck you, Sarah! I didn't ask you to have kids! You have your brother upstairs! he can do.. shhh..."

As the fire kept burning, Oya turned on her heels, unwilling to watch it burn to the end. She rolled her head and yanked it back. Her hazel eyes stared at the sky and she chewed on her bottom lip. It was a gruesome fight they just had. She could have died inside this house and she knew she'd do it in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself. She protected Sarah, that was the reason that had her throw herself between the two of them and sustain a stab wound. She couldn't let her kids live without their mother. The cut hurt like a bitch, but Oya chugged down some alcohol. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and closed her eyes.

The memories of the night came back to her. Four men and two women attacked the Thomas house, but Oya only remembered her own violence. She remembered killing the first one, she threw a knife right in between his eyes. She remembered the other deaths too. She shot at another one, pierced her skin with her bullets before the female fell in front of her. Then at some point, she lost her guns and protected Sarah from being stabbed. That's where it was getting blurry. She took a lot of hits. He really didn't miss her. Her body was aching but she pretended she was fine. There was blood everywhere, it would require at least two days of intense cleaning but Oya had to return home.. at the bunker.

"Oya..." Sarah started, making Oya turn around. "NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!" She yelled, slapping the woman's face hard. Oya blinked and rubbed her cheek.

"What the fuck?"

"What did you think you were doing there? You could have died!" Sarah pushed Oya with both hands.

"So could you!" Oya responded, shoving Sarah. Tyler was alarmed by the noise and turned his head around. "SO COULD YOU SARAH! What the fuck?!! YOU HAVE KIDS! KIDS! for fuck sake! how dare you?" Oya shoved her again before she grabbed Sarah by the head and pulled her into a hug. "I will forever protect you. That's what I do." Sarah screamed into Oya's ample chest and then held onto her shirt. "That's what I do. I protect others... I protected you tonight and I would it all over again."

"You could have died." She whimpered. Joshua asked Tyler to turn him around so he could talk to Oya.

"She's right. You could have. We could have.. all of us. I'm glad Oya protected you, Sarah. I brought these assholes home, I wouldn't have taken the risk to hurt you too. Thank you, Oya, for tonight."

"You're welcome...Shhh.. shh.. Sarah.. please, don't cry. I know you're upset. The night was rough on you. Calm down." She said before her phone rang. She took it from her pocket and saw a message from Dean.

[Are you coming back or what?]

[I'll be home in a sec', just saying goodbye.]

She would take a shower, clean her wounds and then explain -or not- to the brothers why she ended up being roughed up and bruised like that. she would tell them about the people who attacked her family.. she would tell them about being soaked with blood and how difficult it is to make it go. She would tell them about the job, keeping how she truly felt that night to herself. The only thing she knew was that she did her job. She felt the adrenaline pumping through her veins and felt a certain satisfaction in protecting Sarah and Joshua.

"Would you stay for the night?" Joshua asked, hopeful for a positive answer.

"I have to go." She said, running her hand through her hair. "I take a shower and then I'm gone."

"Where are you going?" Tyler asked.

"Home."

She was going home.
