Gabriel- Meeting with Lucifer

 Italy Trevi Fountain, 12:00 AM,

Gabriel's investigations were fruitless. She couldn't find any trace of her father on Earth and was starting to feel desperate as she didn't know where to look anymore. He had left the Silver City decades ago and had not been seen on Earth, so where could he possibly be? She couldn't give up on him, not only because she already claimed to her siblings that she would look for God and find him, but also because she felt that the world needed his return to restore balance in the chaos slowly settling in. Desperate, she decided to call her damned sibling, Lucifer Morningstar to ask him if their father was not hiding in Hell. She speculated that Hell would be the last place people would be looking for God and hoped that her hypothesis was the right one.

It took Lucifer some time to reply to his sister because he had not expected one of his siblings to reach out and be so blunt that they needed him. He also wasn't sure it wasn't a trick to lure him out of Hell and do away with him. The message came from Gabriel, and he remembered fondly his sister and knew that she wasn't the one to trick others, so he relaxed and he gave her Rendez-vous in Italy, at the Trevi Fountain.  Gabriel arrived first and anxiously waited for her sibling to show up. She was wearing an elegant thin-strapped ankle-length black dress with black stilettos and had braided her hair into one single braid that reached her calves. She had put on a leather jacket because the weather was a little bit chilly and stood before the fountain.

"It's been such a long time, sister." -Lucifer's booming voice sent a shiver down the archangel's spine. She didn't turn around as to not bring attention to them and simply smiled to herself-

"It has been." -She simply said, before she felt his presence near her frame.-

Lucifer's meat suit pick was not surprising in the least. He was a very tall and gorgeous black man who sported a popular haircut humans called "a fade'". He was sharply dressed, with a long and fitted leather coat, a three-piece black suit with black leather shoes. His tie and handkerchief were white to add some color to his whole look.   Gabriel cocked her head to the left so she could have a good look at her brother. Despite the glamour that could give the illusion of his eyes being brown, they were a magnificent purple color, akin to the most precious amethyst. It was bright and warm and a confirmation for Gabriel that it was indeed her brother who had joined her before the fountain.

"Let's cut through pleasantries, shall we, sister? I would like to know why you reached out to me. You said it had something to do with Father."

"Yes. I think you have noticed that our Father is nowhere to be found. He left the Silver City and I've combed through the mortal realm over and over again and he's not there. I was wondering if... by any chance, you've seen him in your realm?"

"In Hell? Why would he hide in Hell? I hope you're not accusing me of hiding our father!" -He said, his voice hinting at bubbling anger. Gabriel shook her head and outstretched her arm to hold onto Lucifer's left arm-

"No! No! I'm not accusing you of anything, brother. I was wondering if you felt his absence and if you suspected anything. I am at my rope's end and I don't know where to look!"

Lucifer furrowed his brows but didn't move his arm away from her. Instead, he decided to study his sister as she was talking to him. Gabriel always used to be so bubbly and happy. She was the messenger of God after all and the only one who could claim to be the closest to the Creator. He could see how distraught she was simply by looking at her eyes. Those eyes, red as rubies, used to shine brightly when she was still acting as the messenger for their father. Today their light was dim and dull. He noticed the strain on her face and the exhaustion atypical of his sister. He noticed the tremors in her voice and the fear of seeing her only clue to finding their father, leaving because she didn't express herself the right way. Gabriel never judged him for his fall. She was the only sibling who seemed to understand him in a way the others couldn't. perhaps she knew something the others didn't. She still looked at him like she would her brother, regardless of his status as a fallen angel and the king of Hell. So he decided to remain by her side, at least until he could give her a satisfying answer.

"I have noticed something was amiss but I couldn't imagine it was because Father had left the Silver City.  Who has been in charge since he left?"

"Michael has. Raphaël can't oppose him so he goes along with whatever our brother wants to do.  Uriel, well... you know our brother. He is rather silent and discreet. I'm the only one who voiced my concerns and opposed Michael, to no avail. I left the Silver City."

"You left? Gabby, what exactly are you trying to do? Opposing Michael? He's not going to accept it and let you go away with it. You might as well be labeled an enemy of Heaven."

"Not yet. He still wants me back. He doesn't understand why I'm not on board with his ideas but I told him. We're not meant to rule over humans. We're meant to serve them and to serve our Father. He might be gone, but his will has always been for us to help humans, not rule them. I told him that I would find Father and know the real reason for his departure."

"It is an ambitious task, sister, and a huge risk you took opposing Michael. If...You need shelter, you can find one in Hell. I would see to it that you're safe. Regarding Father, I haven't noticed his presence in Hell.  I see why you thought he could have hidden himself in my realm. After all, who would have been looking there for our dad. Yet, you forgot that he can't keep a low profile wherever he is. He surely would have made his presence known to me. I apologize for not telling you what you wanted to hear."

He felt a pang in his heart as the face of his sister started to slowly show her disappointment. Her only lead was now dead and she didn't know where to look at. Lucifer scratched his beard as he was now thinking about their father's whereabouts and he started to consider several options. If their father had left the Silver City and couldn't be found on Earth then maybe he simply wasn't in the mortal realm. If he wasn't in Hell, there could only be another place.

"I will search Hell, this time to find our father. There still could be a chance he's hiding very well and I have not paid attention. However, there is a chance I would not find him there. Fear not, sister, for there is another place you haven't searched at.  perhaps, Father is in Purgatory."

As soon as he mentioned it, Gabriel's face lit up and quickly took on a horrified expression. Why would their father stay in Purgatory? She had never been there herself, but she heard her siblings talk about it. Purgatory changed depending on who entered it. It could be a big empty grey place or it could be something more familiar where the soul was stuck until it figured out their unfinished business and came to terms with it. Why would the creator willingly go there? Gabriel didn't remember her father as being prone to martyrdom. She didn't remember him as being willing to sacrifice his freedom and perhaps sanity and lock himself in a place she believed was worse than Hell. But it was a lead and it could very well be true.

"Please, brother, search for Father in Hell. I can't imagine him willingly going to Purgatory. I can't even begin to imagine what it could imply or if I could eventually convince him to leave this place to return home. I am... scared that you might be right, so please, please, Lucfier, Search for him in Hell."

"I will. You have my word. In the meantime, you have to brace yourself for whatever comes next. I will keep in touch with you, be careful because I am certain Michael would not give up on you so easily. Please, be careful."

She nodded and gently grabbed his large hand with hers. Gabriel's guts were telling her that something sinister was coming and that she better be ready to hear it. A lot of things didn't make sense to her for now but she was determined to find their father. She felt that God had to return if he wanted to save his precious creations and prevent chaos from happening. She felt that she was racing against the clock and deep down, she knew that Michael would never take the risk to let her walk freely on Earth and convince mankind to rebel against angels. She was the messenger of God after all, and the one humans would turn to in times of need. She knew she couldn't return home until she got a hold of their father and therefore intended to remain careful, including with her brother Raphaël. Lucifer looked at her with a warm gaze before he bent forward and pressed his lips to her forehead. He decided that he would look after his sister and would do his best to find their father. perhaps all of this was in vain but he was willing to take the risk just like she did. And with a slow nod, he vanished in a black smoke, returning to Hell so he could start looking for their father. Gabriel was left behind, worried sick about what was to come but determined to get to the bottom of that situation.

Gabriel Starmaker: Letter from Michael

My dear sister,

I cannot hide the anger I felt upon discovering you deserted the Silver City.  You ran away without any notice, or without giving us the chance to have a mature conversation, and for what?

Raphael told me that you didn't approve of the way your brothers and I are dealing with Humanity and demons but you never even debated with us.

I can see how my words were misinterpreted and how it ruffled some feathers when I said that father wasn't speaking to you anymore and you shouldn't try to speak as if you still were.

Come back at once. I think you have spent enough time throwing your tantrum and you should return to our home so you could explain why you ran from our united front and why you're sowing division.

I care for you, sister. I care for you deeply and I would like to see you again. I miss you dearly, so be reasonable and come home.

Your brother Michael,

Ruler of Heaven.

Gabriel : Meeting with Raphael

Gabriel: Meeting with Raphael

// My Archangel was talking a bit. I just wanted to explore her a little bit.  Here's a little conversation with her closest brother, Raphaël, and some elements of her universe.

TLDR: "God went missing. Michael has decided to take over and is going against his father's wishes for mankind. Gabriel opposes him and she goes to hide among humans in protest. Her real ambition is to find their father before Michael launches his plan to subjugate humanity."

xxxxxx

Despite her cold demeanor, Gabriel was nervous. Her red eyes scanned the area, expecting to meet with a familiar face but there were only a couple of people at the tables nearby, all drinking coffee or reading the newspapers.  She closed her eyes for a moment, pinching the bridge of her nose to regain her concentration, and crossed her legs. For the occasion, she was wearing an elegant long-sleeved red dress and had braided her hair into one huge braid. At her feet were black flat shoes she picked to remain comfortable. It was a beautiful spring day, one of which made her feel lucky to be able to witness Nature in all of its glory. While she focused her attention on a squirrel that was climbing a tree near the coffee shop, she felt a hand squeeze her shoulder and instantly turned her attention toward the person who was touching her.

"I finally found you."

"I let myself be found... Raph." - She whispered while he sat next to her.- "I sent you an invite."

"I know." -He furrowed his brows and caught the attention of one of the waiters who came to their table and took his coffee order- "I've missed you, sister."

"...." -She paused and shrugged while looking away from her brother. "Did you even notice I was gone?"

Raphaël didn't know how to tell to his sister that he actually noticed she was gone. Her departure from the Silver City caused a whirlwind, Michael was out of his mind, upset that she chose to leave her family to hide among humans. For millennia he tried to locate her but to no avail. It didn't work. She was nowhere to be found. They couldn't understand her decision to leave, even now that he was before his sister, Raphaël was still wondering why she left her family for humans. Michael was clear about the plan they ought to follow and a dissention between angels was unheard of. Raphaël thought that meeting their sister would encourage her to come home and would definitely put an end to the stressful atmosphere in the Silver City.

"I did... We all did. Gabby, why did you leave?"

"Pfft, after all this time you still don't understand? I left because of you. I left because I don't agree with the way you do things. Father gave humans free will and you decided to take it away from them. We're supposed to be at their service, not the other way around but you refused to listen to me. you refused to listen to Dad's will."

"Well, Dad's gone. So what?"

"He is gone and you decided to go rogue? He treasures humans but you don't care about them. I refuse to see you enslave humanity. you can tell Michael that!"

"Michael is not going to accept it."

"Do you remember what he told me before I left? You were there, weren't you Raph?" -Raphaël stroked the tip of his nose and took his cup of coffee. He didn't say anything because she was right, the angel witnessed her last argument with their older brother. He heard it clearly and he knew what she was about to say. He simply didn't want to repeat the words for they cut deep and he didn't want to hurt her.- "Of course you do. He said that I was useless because I couldn't hear Father's voice anymore. I couldn't carry his message therefore I couldn't tell you what he wanted. He wasn't willing to listen to anything I had to say, no matter how hard I was trying to tell him that I knew Father because he spoke directly to me. I knew what he wanted and I...intend to protect his dreams and desires for mankind." She clenched her fingers into a fist and took a deep breath. "Look at me."

"I am looking." -He said, still avoiding her- "I--"

"Look at me!" -He took a sip of his coffee and then slowly lifted his head to stare at her face. She had removed her sunglasses and was staring at him with her dark red eyes. Her fluffy white hair framed her face perfectly and she looked so beautiful and yet so cold that he swallowed a big lump and held her gaze.- "Good." -She shrugged and furrowed her brows- "Michael is misguided. I know he means well, but I know humans, have spent some time with them and I think that what you're planning to do is not going to end well. So tell Michael to stop being so damn stubborn and to listen to me for once."

"Sister...I will talk to him. I can't guarantee that he would listen to me. He is close to putting his plan in motion so...He might still feel righteous." -He scratched the back of his neck.- "Could it be possible for us to depart in a hug?"

"A hug? " He grabbed her hand to hold onto it. "Raph...I can't..." -She still held his hand tight just so he could feel that she wanted to hug him but couldn't bring herself to do it- "I can gift you with knowledge instead. I am going to find Dad. I know he's in hiding but I will find him. Tell Michael that I will succeed and I will bring Dad back."

Raphaël eyes grew wide, so wide that he didn't react when she stood up and kissed his forehead before vanishing. He didn't react when he realized that she was gone but he smiled still. Gabriel had not rejected her family. She still had love in her heart for them and someday, maybe, they could reconcile. Maybe.

She also noticed that their father had stopped speaking to her which basically let her siblings navigate blindly their responsibilities. She can be upset, mischievous, and prone to deliver the most aggressive reads if needs be but she truly wants to do good. She also doesn't see the whole relationship between demons and angels as healthy and right since she believes that they are still her siblings, just fulfilling a different duty. (god is almighty after all. so Hell, Lucifer falling and everything was part of his plan too.)

Fictional Character Biography:

Disappointed with the current management of Heaven, Gabrielle deserted Heaven and hid on Earth to be closer to humans. She also doesn't believe in the anti-Demons propaganda.

Doya. Castiel x Oya: Victories

A/ N: Prior to the celebration of her three years with the Team Free Will, Castiel helps Oya with a case that means everything to her. Their bond gets stronger.

xxxxxxxx

Castiel was driving his car, with a sleeping Oya leaning into the passenger's seat. She had been patched up by the nurse they both rescued from Joshua's demon, and aside from the deep cut at the top of her forehead, she only had a busted rib and some bruises on her chest. The angel decided against her wishes that it would be better for her to return home than stay by Joshua's sides. They rescued him, the two of them. Castiel promised Oya they would find the young possessed man and they would rescue him. He noticed how distraught she was when she returned from that solo hunt and once Sam asked him to check on Oya because she might have met Lucifer, he didn't hesitate. Part of the angel was glad she had not met the fallen angel. Lucifer was the worst when it came to a supernatural creature. It wasn't so much his incredible feats than his unpredictable and cruel personality. He had played with, tortured, and broke the Winchesters and Castiel to such a capacity that no other entity could reach his level. He really hurt the three of them to the bone hence the angel's instant panic at the mention that Oya might have met him.

These two had a very rocky start. Filled with mistrust and anger. He couldn't blame Oya for rejecting the angels after what happened to her. He couldn't blame her for not trusting him or even just having troubles understanding him. Communication wasn't Castiel's strong suit but they managed. As soon as he realized she was genuinely caring for both brothers, he mellowed and when she noticed he was less on the defensive, she lowered her defenses as well. Day after day, moments after moments until finally, the angel caught the hunter trying to run away from the Bunker. Oya got scared because she realized she was attached to the brothers and convinced she would get them killed like she did her family, she tried to preserve them. That was what she thought was the reason for her departure.

Castiel saw through it, it wasn't so much that she wanted to protect them -she did want that- it had more to do with her thinking she didn't deserve to be loved and accepted. Castiel had been there, done that years ago. He too had to accept that the Winchesters became his family and he deserved to have one too. He had bled enough, made amends for his foolish ways already and just like any other person on Earth, after such hard work, he deserved some good rest. He spotted that in Oya, the low self-esteem she already had shone through her feeble attempts at justifying her trying to run away. He convinced her to stay and the two talked openly about what the brothers meant, why they were his family and that they had indeed adopted Oya as the new member of the team. She was family and she would need to accept it. That was a small victory.

Greater than her anger towards angels was her fear of Christian demons. He noticed how quickly she shook whenever they mentioned Crowley and even more when the king of Hell appeared in the flesh. Oya was petrified. She mentioned it a few times, that she couldn't fight a Christian demon and had yet to master her genuine fear of them. Castiel still remembered how frightened she was after she encountered a possessed Joshua. He remembered how distraught she was when she lamented she was unable to rescue her friend. Castiel took it upon him to help her. He took it upon him to save her if need there was, hence why both of them went on a mission to rescue her friend. Joshua was a very close friend to Oya. He almost was family to her so she would not allow his death. Saving him proved more difficult than it appeared to be, mostly because the demon was strong, way stronger than they imagined it to be. He maimed both of them pretty badly and could have taken the angel down if it wasn't for Oya who overcame her fear and incapacitated the vessel. Knocked out and bound, it became their priority to perform a successful exorcism. And they succeeded. That was a huge victory.

Oya and Castiel took Joshua to the nearest hospital and called Sarah so she could come and handle the situation from this point on. Castiel watched as the hunter refused to be seen by a nurse but after she realized that her bleeding wouldn't stop, she did agree to sit and be stitched up. The angel had already seen the woman anxious, so nervous that she would have been able to eat her own hair to control her stress. He had already seen her walk in a circle, clasping her hands together, assemble and disassemble her guns or polish her blades in an attempt to prevent a major breakdown. She was as stiff as a piece of wood, waiting for the doctor to come back with positive news. Sarah arrived and the two hugged, talked about Joshua and their shared past. Sarah held onto Oya's hand and pressed light kisses on top of her head. She knew the ebony hunter hated hospitals and was grateful she stayed until she was sure Joshua was safe. They waited like this, then Oya resumed walking in circles until finally a doctor arrived and spoke to Sarah who then informed Oya that Joshua was alive and finally woke up. It was a huge victory.

Seeing the two of them laugh-cry at the situation and Oya relax warmed the stoic angel's heart. He wanted to see her more like this, happier and laughing. That was hit him when he was driving back home. Oya wasn't just the human companion to the Winchester brothers. She wasn't meant to come and go like so many other people did in those boys lives. She was meant to stay. She wanted to stay. He watched as she turned on her side, struggling to find a comfortable position and wrap her arms around his right one. She leaned a little against his shoulder, knocked out by the days spent tracking and finally fighting against the demon. Seeing her closing the gap between the two of them opened his eye to the fullest. She truly had chosen him and accepted Castiel for who and what he was. An angel, the exception, the only one. She accepted him as her family. That was a huge victory. The best one. She was family.
