Doya + Pride and Elpis + Jaime and Bäahal

// Courtesy of my beloved Dean <3 Thank you!

Wherever you go, I go too. I've never been so certain of something in my life until you. I tried to deny the comfort I felt when I was by your sides, but it didn't work, did it? I couldn't hide the fact I loved borrowing your shirts, sleeping in them at night while you would hug me and stroke my hair. I couldn't hide the fact I was always looking for a good time with you, whether we were hunting monsters and I got some adrenaline kick out of it, or during our downtime, when there was nothing between the two of us. I love both. I love the adventure you and me are. I love the thrill of the hunts and the shivers you send down my spine when you look at me. I love when your powerful arms wrap around me and pull me into a hug, against you, where I feel safe. I wouldn't trade those moments for anything in the world. Don't you see? wherever you go, I go, because life means nothing, when you are not in it. Life means nothing....when you're not with me.

"People change. It is very true to human beings. They would change, become new people, reinvent themselves over the course of their lives. Us, gods, never changed. Or so I thought. We were supposed to remain the very same from the moment of our birth to the moment of our death. Case in point, my brother Leviathan had never once, been different from who he was. Arrogant, Selfish, violent, those traits never disappeared. He didn't even, consider himself as flawed and therefore wasn't inclined to become different. if he couldn't change, why would the others do it? Why would /I/ change and why would Pride change?

Pride had always been the same. Selfish, vain, arrogant. There was no room for growth, no room for change and yet, somehow, when he came to know me, I was able to smooth the angles. I was able to make him see life differently. I was able to make him....care for me. So he did grow, he did change. he did become someone new, someone, different. I loved him through his change, didn't I? I accepted he was different. So why was I confused and afraid we wouldn't like each other because we were different now?

"I will find you," I swore on my vanishing breath. I knew I would find him and I would love him regardless of how different he was and how different I was. People change, men and gods alike.

"Are you even listening?"

Lord Tyrion looked at princess Bäahal whose gaze was focused on a rolled on a message she was holding onto her fingers. She wasn't listening to the Hand of the Queen because her mind was lost in the past. They were a couple of weeks before the war against Cersei and a strategy was absolutely needed to defeat the queen. Cersei realized that Daenerys dragons could be killed and had put her trust into a very dangerous man she made her hand. He was without a doubt, able to bring the dead back to life, so of course, he would be able to find ways to kill Rhaegal and Drogon. Therefore, they couldn't put the dragons at risk and had to use them very carefully. It was frustrating to say the very least but what was even more frustrating was the "disinterest" showed by the princess.

"I am listening to Lord Tyrion... I am."

Was all Bäahal could come up with. It was a lie, a very big one given how distracted by the message she was. Tyrion's green eyes set upon the woman and then quickly glanced at the note she was holding. He wasn't an idiot, he knew that since his brother left Winterfell with their sister, Bâahal had tried to get in touch with Lady Kyra, in hopes to hear from her. It was foolish, dangerous even and certainly, a faux-pas Tyrion had to cut down. He took a deep breath and walked towards the princess, his eyes planted into her purple hues.

"Under any other circumstances, I would have entertained the idea of you being friends with my little sister. I have seen how much you cared for her..."

"But?.." She looked away, quickly shuffling the paper in her hand.

"We are at war, princess. This... what you're doing right now, is a weakness we cannot afford to have. "

The truth was, Her mind was filled w with Jaime Lannister. How a nobleman and skilled warrior was to be lost because of Love. She was missing him, his presence in the castle, his sarcastic banter, and his blunt opinion. No matter how hard she tried to take the memory of him out of her mind, it was still coming back to her. He was still haunting her. Tyrion sensed it. He knew it and he knew that while she genuinely cared for Kyra, she dangerously cared for his brother too. Bäahal swallowed a lump and clenched her fists.

"Princess..." Tyrion's voice was a little softer, although still firm. He put his hand on top of hers. "Princess,...I am sure you do understand. You need to let it go."

"I don't know what you are talking about Lord Tyrion. I am focused, my sister's goal is mine. Are you so afraid of me giving up on Dany for some confused emotions? I would never sacrifice her dream because of petty feelings."

Tyrion paused for a while, his hand still holding onto the princess. He squeezed harder and gave her a sigh.

"I know you are loyal to the queen and you would sacrifice your life to help her achieve her goal. I am not worried about your resolve. I am worried about your..."

"My heart?... What possible outcome should there be when you appreciate an enemy? I already know I shouldn't appreciate your brother. I shouldn't feel grateful for killing my father. I shouldn't feel sorry for him or...I shouldn't wish he wasn't in love with Cersei because she's wasting him away. I already know all of this."

"....Doesn't make it any easier to know it." Tyrion said with a shrug. "It actually makes it worse." He quietly said, patting her hand with his before he removed it. "I know we can't really choose what our hearts want, but I told you, Princess, pain is..."

"I'm used to pain, Lord Tyrion. What I would be afraid of, would be joy and pleasure. It would be.... happiness. This, is worse than any pain in the world because I don't know how to react to it. I don't know how to handle it. I don't even think I deserve it. This.. this is worse than pain. Don't worry about me and Lord Jaime. There is nothing to lose, nothing to be afraid of. There is...nothing, really, but respect and gratitude." She smiled at him and gently patted his shoulder. "It's just a shame he will die if he meets me, unless he kills me."

"It's a shame really."

Doya: Sam and Oya : The demon serial killer case part 3 confrontation!

A/ N: Sam and Oya finally learned the identity of the serial killer and decide to go after it. Also, he's trying to talk to her about her « lashing out » at the witch in between their case but she's avoiding talking to him.

Xxx

« SAM !!! » -Oya yelled as the demon held her neck and was choking her.-

After three days of investigation in the Church of Light, Sam and Oya finally realized that the only thread between all the murders was Chantal's wife Stephanie. Sam discovered that she was the founder of the cult and therefore was present in all the five states where it existed. While Chantal recruited new members locally, Stephanie traveled through the country and was present each and everytime a new victim showed up. Sam confirmed it was Stephanie and the pair decided they could confront her at a time where there would be no followers so nobody would get hurt. Usually, the followers had a very tight timetable, filled with activities that were supposed to ensure the cohesion of the group except for Thursday afternoon and nights. Thursday was free, which made it easier for the Winchester and the African hunter to search for their target. Their investigation started to raise suspicion and have people talk a lot about this strange couple. The death of the local witch, only made things worse and tipped Chantal who started to lead her own investigation. She started to piece things together and realized that her wife was actually potentially a serial killer. Mortified, she confronted the woman who quickly revealed the truth and snapped her neck.

Oya and Sam arrived at their house, having noticed from afar the lights being on. The woman grabbed a regular knife and left the car, quickly followed by Sam, who also had a hunter's knife and a gun in his hand. As soon as they entered the home, the lights went off, making Oya grunt and motion to Sam that she was going upstairs while he should keep looking for their target on the ground floor. The house seemed pretty normal at first glance, but Oya knew better and kept her attention on her surroundings. She opened the office room and found Chantal's body laying on the floor. The poor woman's throat was snapped, which didn't coincide with the murders that took place in the past. Furrowing her brows, Oya started to wonder if they got it right because it didn't make sense that Chantal's body wouldn't be mutilated like the other victims. Before she could further her investigation, she felt the presence of someone on her back. Stephanie tried to stab Oya with a knife but Oya dodged the attack by sliding to the left. The knife stayed stuck on the wooden table and Oya used the moment Stephanie realized it, to turn around with a punch that was blocked by the woman. Her eyes turned black, indicating that she was a demon.

Oya tried to kick the demon's left side but her leg was caught by the monster who then proceeded to slam the African hunter's body against the wall. Oya grunted and stabbed the creature's shoulder with her regular knife. It made her chuckle and slap the African hunter in the face before she held her by the neck. Sam heard the noises upstairs and quickly ran the stairs up to the first floor. He looked into the bedrooms but they were empty and followed the noise. He gasped at the sight, but furrowed his brows and tried to stab the demon bitch without hesitation, but she heard him from when he ran upstairs thanks to the old wood that creaked and made some distinguishable noise and because she did, it wasn't difficult to block him with her other hand and throw him around against the nearest wall. She tilted her head to the side, giving a slasher smile to Oya who was still choking on her hand. The distraction provided by Sam was enough for Oya to use the wall to push her knee up so it could hit the demon's chin.It worked, making Stephanie take some steps back.

Oya groaned as she felt short of breath. The hunter grabbed the knife that was on Stephanie's shoulder and used it to cut through her left eye, effectively blinding the vessel and forcing the creature to snarl and release her neck. By the time Oya fell onto the floor, Sam had been back to his feet and tried to stab the creature with a demon blade. The demon grinned and punched Sam's belly, once, twice but lost focus on Oya who rubbed her throat as she now could breathe. She stood back up and watched as the demon kicked Sam, who dropped his knife that rolled towards Oya.

"A Winchester in my lair. Who would have thought I would have the best prey?!" Stephanie finally said. "How exciting! you're both no match for me but I like a little struggle."

She cooed, grabbing the knife that was stuck on the table. She disregarded the fact Oya might still be able to hunt due to her straining her throat. Sam rolled on his side, avoiding the attack of the demon, once, twice and then blocked the knife with both hands while he glanced at Oya who was trying to stand back up so she could help Sam. The brother grunted as Stephanie bent forward and grinned at his face.

"Without Crowley leading Hell, we're pretty much free to do as we please. Nobody's going to save you from your destiny. You have to die, Sam Winchester."

She said, using her strength to lift the knife and tear down the skin on both Sam's hands but before she could stab him, Oya managed to stand up and stab her through the heart with Sam's demon blade. She screamed and as the lifeless corpse of Stephanie fell onto the floor, Oya legs gave up on her and she sat by it. Sam sat too and both stared at each other, heavily breathing from their fight. Oya's hazel eyes averted from Sam's face to the body of the serial killer and then from it to the box filled with her past crimes memorabilia. This case would be easy to explain, easier than previous tragedies. Stephanie was a serial killer long before the demon took possession of her body, so explaining what happened was not going to be much of a challenge. However, the witch Oya killed was another story... They managed to cover up their tracks but Sam was still bothered by what he witnessed. Oya was upset. She let herself be surprised by a demon, she didn't go inside fully prepared. What could she do with a regular blade against Angels or Demons? She furrowed her brows and hit her lap, frustrated by her encounter with a demon and the fear she now was starting to experience.

"Oya?" Sam said in a worried tone. She looked up to his eyes but clenched her jaw "Are you alright?"

"Yeah..." She shook her head. "No... " She wiped a tear off of her face. "I'm not."

"Yeah?" He encouraged her to speak, but in true Sam fashion, he wouldn't push her. He had questions that died at the back of his throat; Questions about the night with the Witch and why she was acting the way she did.

"I already can't handle angels... You know that, right?." He nodded, his brown eyes glancing at Stephanie's body. "I can't handle them...I can't handle them so imagine how little I can handle demons....."  She said, both disappointed scared. Her hands were shaking as she spoke, her whole body was still in shock of her encounter. It was her first demon, the very first besides Crowley that she actually fought and killed. "I couldn't face Stephanie... I couldn't face her.."

"You-- You killed her. You saved me. /you/, did that." He said, trying to reassure her. She glanced at him and swallowed a lump. "You faced a demon today."

"How are you not terrified?" She asked, her voice light as the wind as she knelt on the floor and tried to stand up. "How are you not terrified everytime you face a demon? or even the King of Hell?  Or.." She wiped another couple of tears and watched as Sam stood back up.

"Don't think we're not afraid. We just do it, just like you did. We just do it and you did it today. You will do it tomorrow." He outstretched his hand to help her stand on her two feet. "Thank you, Oya."

"You're welcome..." -She said as she held onto his hand and stood back up.-

"Let's go back home." He said, grabbing her shoulder to give it a firm squeeze before he left the room.

Oya followed him, lost in her thoughts. She knew that it wasn't over and they both would need to talk about what happened in the house with the witch.  Oya wanted to avoid the conversation. She didn't want to talk about her fear of losing him and his brother. She didn't want to talk about the nightmare in itself or about the bloodlust that took over her. Oya fell silent, unable to think as he took her to the motel room they were renting so she could take a shower and cleanse herself from the day.  She didn't say anything as he brought her back some pizza to eat and even less when they fell asleep. She had a nightmare that night, one that had her kicking and screaming but Sam was with her, his arms wrapped around her frame and his chin on top of her curly black hair. He watched over her all night long, stroking her arms and petting her back to keep her calm. It was going to be a conversation for another day. Another day.

Doya: The odds

Sam and Oya: The odds

A/ N; continuing with this little sub-plot. Oya and Sam are spending some time together and already we can tell that communication is NOT their forte at all. Oya is still upset about Isaac's death and is afraid she might lose the brothers. Sam is upset because she's very stubborn and doesn't want to talk about the very fact she's afraid and he can see that. I'm 100% sure it's going to enter the DOYA storyline because I like this one.

xxxxxxxx

Sam and Oya's case was finally leading them somewhere. They went to the single and widowers party organized by the Church of Light to talk to the last victim claimed by the monster. Her name was Roberta Denver. It was her husband, Phil, who discovered her one morning when he came back from work, dead, with her eyes burned. The poor man couldn't understand why his wife died the horrible death she had. Roberta was almost a saint, a woman who dedicated her life helping people in need. He wasn't interested in being with someone else, Roberta being the love of his life, but still attended the parties because the Church encouraged him to. His story confirmed what Oya and Dean suspected about the killer coming back every 5 years and claiming victims. The fact the numbers doubled was unusual, however, because usually, demons were methodical. If, however, it bonded with a serial killer, then everything made sense. There was an escalation, probably induced by the human host. They were narrowing down the list of potential suspects, all the while pretending to be a couple. It amused Oya who couldn't help but laugh because she embarrassed Sam; She didn't even need to go extreme in her tease, a simple contact and innuendos were enough to make him blush and swallow a lump. It was refreshing but even less than the oddity that having another case happen right in the same town as they were was.

What were the odds? A witch decided to play around and kill her relatives. It didn't take long for the hunters to figure her out and go after her. The fight should have been an easy one, but the witch proved to be more powerful than expected. Oya was a victim of one of her hex that compelled her to witness her greatest fears. Unlike what the ebony hunter believed, her greatest fear was to lose both Dean and Sam. The Thomas were family of course, but she was still under the illusion that they would fair well. Especially Sarah since she was out of the hunting business. Seeing the corpses of the brothers was enough to make Asma lose her mind. Instead of being broken like the witch hoped for, she attacked her. Oya lashed out and Sam witnessed it with horror. Oya was fast, maybe faster than usual as she leaped onto the witch and grabbed her neck. He saw as she took her hunting knife out of its sheath and stabbed the witch repeatedly in the neck.

There was blood everywhere and the witch tried to strangle Oya -it didn't last long because she died pretty quickly- Sam intervened when he realized that Oya wasn't done with he body. She started to stab her chest and screaming horribly. Sounds weren't even human or maybe they were. He recognized it. She was screaming in pain, in horror and he guessed that it had something to do with what the witch made them see. -He saw the very same things. The younger Winchester brother grabbed Oya's shoulders and forced her to her feet. It was the first time that she actually saw him be worried about her, to the point that she nearly froze. Her eyes grew wide as he kept asking how she was doing. She looked at him, understanding that he indeed was worried about her and then at his hands that were holding onto her shoulders. She couldn't hear his words, but just the noise of his voice. She then snapped out of it and put her hand over his. His mind was racing and she could tell by the way he was looking at her. He knew. He knew what had just happened and he knew why she did it. It was obvious. She brought her blood-soaked hands up to cover his with and nodded quietly, almost as if she was trying to comfort him. -maybe she was-

« I'm okay. » -Her voice was mechanical but she was focused in the present now. « I'm okay Sam. »

«Yeah? » He didn't believe her but she held his hands tighter.

« Yeah. I'm okay. She just really tried to kill me but messed with the wrong short girl. » She said, forcing a chuckle. Sam was confused but he cleared his throat and released her shoulders.

« Let's go back to the motel room. You need a beer and so do I. »

« That's an idea I can get behind! » She said as she walked away from the crime scene. « I can totally get behind drinking myself to sleep after a hot shower.

« Sure... »

Sam tried to burn the thought in his mind, thinking that it might just be circumstantial and Oya would not behave like this in their current case. He wouldn't want her to take risks and end up being killed by the demon they were chasing after. His worried gaze set upon the ebony hunter as she sat on his right and leaned into the seat and he then turned the engine on and left the house.

Do you trust me (Doya)

(Doya)  // all usual disclaimers//

"Do you trust me?"

He would ask when she would shut down. She spoke most of the time, always had something to say about anything. She wasn't extremely talkative but she certainly talked more than Dean ever did. He was used to the noise, to her trying to make him speak up his mind, to her trying to read into his behavior or other people. So when she became distant, he noticed. She would stop talking plain and simple.

"Do you trust me?"

He would ask when she was arguing with him. Her insecurities and fears would make her act up. She would worry about this cute hunter he knew, who sent him an e-mail or that sweet waitress who would flirt with him. Especially when Oya herself wasn't there. She would crystallize her fears on those strangers to avoid looking at the core of the problem: /her/. She didn't feel threatened by others, no, Oya  was worried about hurting him. She was worried about being the reason he didn't come home or got hurt. She was worried about bringing  him pain instead of relief, love, comfort... she was worried her love was Toxic. So she would argue with him and scream and make tempests in a glass Of water

"Do you trust me?"

He would ask when she was having a panic attack. He would watch her disassemble and put together her guns in that mechanical way she always did it.  He would watch her clench and unclench her fists and walk in circles. He would watch her lose her composure in front of him and hold fists of her hair. She tried to hide that from him months ago but couldnt anymore. When she was in distress like that, Dean did his best to let her know he was here. He was here for her and he would not leave her side. She would struggle, reject him even run away but  always,  Oya would let him in. She would let him comfort her. She would let him see her scars.

"I trust you."

She did trust him. His feelings, his intentions and that his heart was in the right place. She did trust him and if given the ability to put into words How she felt, she'd say that he was fixing her.... he was like glue to a broken glass, keeping her together so she didn't fall apart. If She could express how she truly felt for him, she did say that she did not understand why he stuck around her. She did not understand why  he stayed with someone as toxic as She was or why he didn't leave when he saw how scarred she was.  She was broken, in more ways than  she dare admit and her he still was here....

When he was.

And tonight he wasn't there and she was freaking out. Nervously, Oya let her fingers run over the blade he brought her from his last hunt. There was no reason to be worried. She trusted him and trusted he would return to her. He promised he would.

He promised he would.

Doya: mother

//All the usual disclaimers//

"Mother,

I keep trying to write you a letter but words fail me. The only thing that comes to mind is "I am sorry" for all I put you through. I am sorry for not saving you when I should have. I am sorry I let Kalusha hunt on his own and run towards his death. I regret that very night when I was frozen and unable to move. The Asanbosam could have killed me... no wait.. he did kill me. The day you died and my dear brother lost his life, I lost my life too.

Dad was strong. He tried his best to protect me and help me move on but then I lost Fabrice because I couldn't conceive and my world crumbled. My world crumbled mother. I wish you were there. I wish you could hold my hand while Father passed away. I wish I could cry against you and you would tell me everything would be better. But you couldn't. You were already dead.

Mom... I wish you were there. I wish you could guide me. I wish you could help me stay on track. I don't know why I am afraid. I am.... I am happy, mom. For the first time in.. I'm happy with Dean. We have our ups and downs and we bump heads every day but I am happy.

I miss you, mother...I miss you. I don't know what to do but I'll try and follow your lead."

Personality:

Oya is a woman with rough edges. The job and the tragedies she endured were enough to harden the woman even though she wears her emotions on her sleeve. Oya has a very dominant personality but has proven to be flexible if the situation demands it. Oya is very observant and would rather believe the actions carried by an individual rather than their words. That made her unable to express her feelings fully with her words.

She also is very impatient, which makes it hard for her to keep a poker face. The job is her raison d'être so of course, she would take it very seriously. She sees it as a sport and does take pleasure in hunting monsters. She doesn't give up until it's done which means she would hunt your ass for months until she got to you before she moved on.

She does have a softer side, once you get to know her. She's kind, soft, considerate, and compassionate. She would do everything to make sure those she loves are safe and sound. Curiously, she's not cynical at all and actually likes people and enjoys protecting them.

Fictional Character Biography: (merged with real historical facts)

Cameroon, birth

The country had been independent for only 28 years. The new president, Paul Biya wasn't in charge of the country yet and France was visibly (somehow, openly) ruling Cameroon. Everything was a masquerade, but France had already freed the country. Yet that didn't come as a gift, there were trades, and among them secret trades. One of these secret trades, among the priority (if not exclusivity) in the Wood, oil, cotton, and fish markets was providing France with children who would become later monster baits for French hunters and experiments.

Awa Nzi Mulenge, Oya's mother was part of a secret and traditional family of hunters, the Sawa. She married the son of another famous family of hunters, the Nzi Mulenge. In Cameroon, hunters were well-respected families. Each village had at least two families of hunters who oversaw protecting the villagers. With Colonisation, they were forced to go underground and hide from the French colons to keep practicing and hunting. With the end of the Colonisation and the smooth transition to a democratic republic, hunters were able to return to their previous status. Each village and city now had some members of the biggest and most efficient families of hunters. Awa and Joseph were able to make a family for them. A girl, Oya, and a boy, Kalusha.

Normal childhood and Intense training in Africa/Russia/Central Europe.

Joseph taught his children the myths and the lore of their country to prepare them for the job. They managed to have a normal childhood since their training was basically just learning about the monsters they would hunt. Once they hit their teens, he sent them abroad to become familiar with other monsters and learn foreign techniques. Joseph had a very good friend, Henry Thomas who was an American hunter and who took Oya under his wing to teach her the ropes of the job. When she turned 18, she returned to Cameroon to become an official hunter in Cameroon. Henry died shortly after, and his golden gun became a part of the family treasure.

Family Tragedies

Oya's parents wanted her to marry a good hunter suitor so once she returned home, she met several of her childhood friends. It was difficult to find a suitor she liked mostly because they all wanted to stay home and give birth to a boy who would become a hunter. Female hunters who went on the field weren't rare nor disrespected, but they rarely married, which in Cameroon was frowned upon. Oya, at the beginning and due to her young age didn't really bother with it and reunited with a childhood friend, Fabrice who became her fiancé. Fabrice was really different from the others; he took her on the field and both hunted. He was very open-minded and calm and completed her very well.

She lived with him, so she didn't know what was happening at home. She didn't notice the changes in her brother and discovered that he was possessed the day he killed their mother in front of her. A few months before her wedding, Fabrice went on a hunt on his own and returned quite disturbed. It took a while for Oya to realize that her fiancé was possessed by a monster she couldn't exorcize and was forced to kill. This event traumatized the young woman who then fled back home only to find that her father had cancer and was dying. She remained with him at home for the last six months of his life and inherited his prized golden gun. That was when she decided to find her brother and kill him.

Meeting the Winchesters/ trip to America

During one of her missions, she realized that a few African monsters were living abroad and that her brother might be among them. So of course, she packed and went to the US in hopes of finding her brother and killing him herself. That was when she met with the Winchesters who rescued her from a vampire nest. Despite a rocky beginning, she got along well enough with them. They took her in, nursed her back, briefly told her about the recent events -Lucifer come back, Amaya, God's brief return, etc..- and offered to welcome her with them until she fully recovered and found her brother. In exchange, she would help them with their cases, which she agreed to. Dean helped her find and kill the Asanbosam.

Recent History:

After defeating the overpowered god Pluto. Oya proposed to Dean and the two got married. While on their honeymoon, the pair encountered a few ghosts to fight.
