COPG: chessgame V -recap-

COPG: chessgame V -recap-

// It was overdue. I wanted to state where we are in the storyline. :) They will forever be famous.

Gaea finally chose to join her children in the fight against Elpis. She decided to lend her power and eventually maximize her chance of surviving the war by siding with a more powerful alliance. While her help would have been decisive if it was any other goddess,  Gaea felt that it would be useless against her daughter Elpis. Doubt had crept into her heart from the moment because she felt the power of her daughter. Elpis was becoming stronger, she was becoming far more powerful than Gaea expected her to be since she was able to control Nature. They even managed to talk to each other, briefly so, and the All-Mother realized that her daughter had awoken her power.  Elpis told her that she would take her crown and would become the new All-Mother, which scared Gaea so much that she joined her surviving children in a bid to survive.

Ayasha and Ishtar were preparing for the upcoming war. Ishtar was plagued with nightmares and hallucinations of his sister. Ayasha tried to ignore her fear since she was visited by the Black Butterfly. The drums of war started to beat and Ishtar was organizing his army. Monsters and minor gods responded to his call and were gearing up, forging new weapons and armor. The drums of war started to beat but the Primeval Gods put on a brave face while their hearts were torn apart.  Victory wasn't certain but a necessity. They had to win. Elpis had to die and the Sin had to be contained.  Perhaps, with the help of the All-Mother, there was a chance they could win this war and the siblings were hoping to have the favor of victory.

Elpis, well, she was thriving! Pride, with the help of an old friend turned foe turned ally -The goddess Hecate-, forged a ring that granted the Primeval Goddess a new freedom. She would finally be able to roam the mortal realm free without being located by her siblings. She would be able to use her magic and explore her powers without being found. Freedom...Freedom to be her true self and freedom to move. With that ring, she would be able to follow him anywhere he chose to go. She would be able to finally leave the confines of the walls he put her in. She would be able to be with him and that was the most important thing for the goddess. Nothing and no one would come between them. They would prepare for the war at their own pace and would attack when their enemies would be the least prepared for it.

Chronicles of the Primeval gods: The Chessgame part IV (recap)

Chronicles of the Primeval gods: THE CHESS GAME PART IV (recap)

A/N : I wrote the last recap in 2020, now it's time to explain what happened since then.

Everything was crumbling down for Ayasha. She had not anticipated everything and could only blame herself for her own shortcomings. She was forced to find another way to deal with the Sin and her little sister for her plan with Asma backfired. Instead of having the goddess and the sin come to the former human host's rescue, they stayed hidden. Asma finally was set free from the evil plans of the Primeval goddess who didn't need her anymore, so she simply had stopped seeing the human.

Gaea had still not manifested herself to her children but Ayasha was confident that she would come to them. The seed of feed planted by the birth of her last child, Elpis, had now blossomed into a small plant that needed to grow. Ayasha didn't need to visit her, instead, she counted on the fact Elpis was growing stronger. The power of her youngest would eventually be noticed by the All-Mother herself and the fear of being replaced by Elpis would drive their mother back to her remaining children.

It wasn't enough. Not being able to know what the goddess was doing was giving Ishtar, Ayasha and Gaea nightmares and illusions. It wasn't enough. In reality, they were right to be afraid. Elpis had grown stronger. She was now more in tune with the mortal realm and Life itself than her own mother. Her powers were slowly being released and her untapped potential was now revealed. Elpis was terrifying. Once she would be in complete control of her powers, she would be unstoppable.

They didn't know that Pride had forged her weapon. They weren't aware of the fact the Sin and the Goddess were closer than ever. If they knew, they would be even more devastated because that meant they couldn't break their bond. Ayasha still hoped for Pride to be consumed by his greed and to break her sister's heart. It was a risky gamble and there was a possibility that things would not go her way. But yes, Elpis was now more powerful and with a Scythe forged by Tartarus and imbued with Pride's essence.

How could they overcome the difficulty? It seemed that the Sin and the Goddess of Hope and Light had the upper hand now. They managed to blind their enemies and operate in perfect secrecy. The gathered their strength, allowed Elpis to recover most of her energy and tap into the hidden depth of her power. Pride had ended the war of Sins and had become the legitimate ruler of the Underworld. They were trying to get control over the Greek Pantheon all the while preparing their assault on the Prime Garden.

Ayasha knew. Deep down, she was aware of the shift of power, so she prepared. She prepared her armour. She prepared her weapon. She studied war and trained with her brother because she anticipated that a war was about to break and she should be the best prepared for it. She also knew that Ishtar would never been able to kill Elpis, so it would be up to her to do so and how she wanted to kill her. So she would.

Chronicles of the Primeval gods: THE CHESS GAME PART III (recap)

Chronicles of the Primeval gods: THE CHESS GAME PART III (recap)

A/N : I wrote the last recap in 2019, now it's time to explain what happened since then.

Xxxxxx

What was going on? Ayasha realized she had lost control over Ishtar since Leviathan's death. Of course, the late god of the oceans planted the seed of rebellion in the mind of her brother, making it more and more difficult for her to manipulate him. Ishtar was what he was, difficult, violent, impulsive but he wasn't stupid. Once the light was shone upon the situation he was in, the truth started to prevail. He became distant with Ayasha, more commanding with her. He left her no window to manœuvre and manipulate him, which became frustrating.

Her loss of control induced a level of fear and anxiety unknown to the goddess. No matter what, she couldn't shake her fear off of her mind. Elpis was alive and well, and she still couldn't locate her. She still couldn't find her due to the sin's ancient spell, which only fueled Ishtar's anger and Ayasha's fear. They could strike at any moment now. Of course, the New All-Father rang the bells of war and was now preparing the remaining gods for the upcoming battle against Superbia and Elpis. Ayasha was still searching for a weapon or an artifact capable of unmaking Pride and had requested her brother to forge her a god-killing weapon so she could be even with Elpis.

Ishtar, while determined to destroy his sister and the sin once and for all, was having second thoughts. As usual, he was tormented by his guilt and the twisted love he felt for his sister. He had tried to seek his mother's support but she rejected him, still resentful for the death of the All-Father Khaos. The god of war knew that his hesitation to kill Elpis might come back during the last battle and was now trying to overcome his feelings for her. After all, she did betray the primeval gods by giving herself to a Sin. She betrayed her family, she betrayed him. He should have killed her 2000 years ago but he swore to fix his mistake, no matter how torn his heart would be afterward.

Ayasha, however, wasn't truly convinced that her brother would succeed in killing Elpis. She decided to foment a plan B, just in case the first battle wouldn't work. Still being blinded by the Sin, she wasn't able to see the truth of his relationship with Elpis but could speculate that they were getting along right now. However, should a third element be introduced to the pair, the probability of chaos was higher than usual because Elpis was known to be very jealous? Asma became obvious to the primeval goddess. Asma was the last host, the only host to have met Pride, and to have elicited emotions from him. She didn't die and was still very much roaming the Earth, so that meant Pride had a soft spot for the human.

The goddess of knowledge befriended the human in the following months. She decided to play it slow, make sure that Asma was visible enough for them to hear the news of her life in danger. She wanted to kill the doppelganger, or eventually put her in such a dire situation that the Sin would come to her rescue. Elpis would not accept to share her sin with someone else, regardless of what they did to help her and they would argue and destroy each other, or perhaps the sin would kill Elpis and Ayasha, who would have been ready to unmake him, would simply have to unmake Pride. The victory was ensured...Still.. this plan was flawed and there were far too many dead angles that Ayasha decided it would be safer to see their mother.

So Gaea was visited once again by the blonde goddess of knowledge. They clashed, as much verbally as their powers started to leak and influence the mortal realm. Yet, for the first time in eons, Ayasha finally pierced through the thick armor of her mother. As she exposed Gaea's true nature, the All-mother dismissed her, unable to accept that she wasn't as pure as she wanted to present herself. Gaea was scared of Elpis, she always had been. From her birth to this day, the All-mother knew her daughter had a terrifying power within her. She was, after all, the product of true love between Chaos and Gaea. A child who was  capable of both creation and destruction on a universal level. The other siblings were tasked with a singular mission. They were to contain her in a bubble, they were to manipulate her into submission and ensure she wouldn't tap into her true power. Of course, most didn't realize it was the mission but Ayasha figured it out rather quickly.

Gaea was scared because she kept having visions of her daughter taking her crown, unlocking her true potential, and punishing her for allowing Ishtar to stab her. Since the All-mother was plagued with nightmares, she was now considering cutting the « neutral act » and actively working against her daughter. Yet again, it wasn't certain. All that was, was that Elpis was now stronger by the minute, recovering from the energy depletion caused by the curse and discovering her new powers with Superbia. They were enjoying each other's presence while walking the Earth but Elpis was becoming more and more impatient with her revenge and more and more ambitious as well. Why stop at Earth when they could rule the universe? She requested Pride with forging her a god-killing weapon so she could be a worthy ally and partner when they launch the assault on the Primeval gods' pantheon.

Happy holidays 2020!

year : 2020

2020, what a year!

I will, of course, write a short Christmas message with the traditional Santa Thong by Lelia, when she releases it:D but until then, this is a Holidays post:)

I know this year has been dreadful, complicated, complex, riveting, incredible, exciting to some and many of you. I can just wish that this end of the year finds you well, find you surrounded by your loved ones. I can only hope that the end of the year would at least help you breathe a little. I'm very proud of my lovelies who went through hell for some but survived, who lived their best lives to others. Look at us today. We're badasses. <3

Aside from the disbelief that we would be facing a pandemic, I think I have not anticipated this year as well as I could have. Unlike many, I cannot say that everything was a nightmare, that would not be true. Yes, I went through a lot of hardships, but unlike 2019, this year I was far more hopeful for my future. I decided I would not speak of those hardships in detail, at least not in this post but for the past couple of months, I have been heartbroken, anxious, in anguish, and definitely worried about my future. I had to make tough decisions and my anxiety filled my head every night. It was difficult to take care of my mental health during the height of the pandemic in my country, even more, when the therapist I was seeing -a trauma specialist- ended up not being compatible with me. But you know what they say, always get back up when you're knocked down. So I kept going.

I can't believe I finally made it and have officially quit my job. It had to be one of the hardest decisions I had to make and It took me a year of inner-debate and discussions to finally make it happen. My family and friends were of great support because they understood what I was going through. I left an abusive job, with incompetent and abusive managers. I left a job that sent me on medical leave and forced me to think of my health. I decided I had enough, and would never suffer the way I did for a heartless job that would quickly replace me should I die. I held onto the hope I would not suffer any longer and here I am... I made it!

Aside from this, it's also a year I've been very active with my personal projects. My book has consistently been going, hopefully, come to the end of the year 2021, it'll go to editing and translation in English too. My Poem Anthology « Misadventures of Eros and Thanatos » would be finished come next year and I will resume sketching as well. I'm so excited because being an artist is who I really am even though I am still fighting my head in order to make it happen. Little by little I'm getting there, and this year, I reconnected with that part of me. I have hope for the future and I hope that you would be aware of what's going on very soon! Thank you to those who've been supporting me all those years. I won't let Asma down. Ever <3

But I think the biggest treasure this year gave me was definitely just coming to the realization I have found the love of my life. Main Husband has always been open to discussion, he is honest, sincere, loving, and romantic at heart. He's very funny and I think I can't get enough of his tacky sense of humor or his passion for cinema. I can't get enough of his gentle touch or his presence. I can't get enough of us building our lives together and projecting into our future and I am especially grateful for him because he knows how my mind works, he understands, he is patient. I had always been certain that it was going to be « him », but this year consolidate it for me. So I am grateful for 2020 because it revealed our best and worst sides and yet, we're still there, together, going strong and accepting challenges.

To another year!

Happy Holidays everyone!
