Chronicles of the Primeval gods: Life and Death of Leviathan: Anticipation

A/ N: Because that SOB had been pestering me all day long ! He's anticipating his victory on Pride.

xxx

At long last, Pride answered his call. It took him weeks but he finally returned the message to the primeval god of the ocean, accepting the challenge and even giving him the name of the location he picked for the fight. Leviathan didn't bother with the lore of the place, he dismissed the fact it was a former mental institution. The only thing he noticed was that Pride chose an island. It made the God chuckle at how foolish the sin was to have picked a place surrounded by the ocean. He would be at his strongest and the fight started to look like it wouldn't even last long. Well, that was for the best, Leviathan couldn't have asked for a better location. He was excited, to say the very least because his plan was set in motion. He would defeat the sin, kidnap his sister and let her live until he got rid of the current All-Father and Ayasha. If he destroyed Elpis too soon, he would forget the truth and return to being Ayasha and Ishtar's puppet and he refused to be. Keeping her alive would be the best choice for the moment.

He intended to avenge himself for the humiliation she caused him. Not only did she humiliate him when she rejected his proposal to marry him, a pure primeval god, but if it weren't for her « romance » with the Sin, Ishtar would have never been able to kill the All-Father and take his mantle. He wouldn't have been the King. Leviathan was still driven by his need to be on top of everything and would not allow Ayasha to get her hands on her sister. Once the goddess of Hope secured and the Sins eliminated, the master of the oceans would turn the royal army against Ishtar and would join the few rebels still alive. He would help them defeat the current All-Father and Ayasha and become the new All-Father. His dream was just within his grasp and it made the god smirk. Elpis would suffer, he would make sure of that. Once he defeats her beloved, he would make her pay for everything. For spitting in his face, for bringing shame to their pantheon. It was now, just a matter of hours before Leviathan would meet his bright future. The future of a King.

Chronicles of the Primeval Gods : Life and Death of Leviathan : Frustration

A/ N: Leviathan is frustrated, Ayasha is frustrated, Elpis is frustrated.

Xxx

The master of the Ocean started to feel impatient. Elpis and Pride were aware of his presence on Earth and they knew he had the dagger of Fate with him, so what took them so long? He didn't mind Earth but was more at ease when he was near the ocean. With his memories back and his desire to avenge himself from the betrayal of the new All-Father Ishtar and Ayasha, he expected his fight with the sin to be a quick one. Pride wasn't as powerful as they hyped him up. He was nothing but a pale copy of a living being. He was nothing but a lie and Leviathan wanted to defeat him. Killing the sin and the rest of his worthless family would just be one more step towards greatness. Leviathan wanted the throne, he wanted to overthrow Isthar and become the new All-Father. He wanted to kill Elpis for the humiliation she was responsible for but before he would stab her with the dagger, he wanted to claim her. The god didn't take anyone but himself into consideration. He did covet Elpis, from the moment she became a young and attractive goddess to the moment she gave herself to Pride. He had wanted her. He had desired her and even today, the torment of wanting her flesh was tearing him apart.

She was powerful, he was aware of that, but he didn't know the full extent of her power -and would never know-. All he saw in Elpis was the trophy. All he saw in her was the pride he would have from flaunting her at his arm. All he saw in her was...superficial and he knew it. He wasn't interested in more. He didn't care about how she felt, what she wanted and her true desires. All he knew was that she was gorgeous and he could show to any other god just how superior to them he was. Unlike Ishtar who had actual remorses for what he did to Elpis, Leviathan wanted to finish the job. He was frustrated because nothing happened, he was stuck on Earth. Pride didn't even show up. What could he do if not walk the Earth and look at the oceans? Plot against his siblings while daydreaming about the level of power he would reach once he would defeat Ishtar? What else was left to do if not reminiscing and plotting? Not much...much to his distaste.

Ayasha was frustrated. She received the visit of the black butterfly, announcing the death of someone she knew, maybe even her own. She couldn't move her chess piece just yet and was forced to wait alongside Leviathan for Pride to show up and fight him to know what to do next. So much was at stake. If Pride succeeded in killing Leviathan, she would at least have had one less rival. Leviathan was clever, he figured her out pretty fast. He knew she was just an act and was the one pulling the strings behind Ishtar, her knight. Ishtar didn't want to be king, he didn't want to rule over the ruins of the primeval gods' pantheon. He didn't want to become the new All-Father but she pushed him. She forced him to take power and now that everything was set in motion, she had to go all the way in. Leviathan figured her out, it only added insult to injury.

It reminded of when Khrön did and pieced things together. Her ambition was her downfall. It was easy to see the trained eye. Her desire to control and possess, to rule over anything else was taking advantage of the rest. She couldn't help it, her own darkness was devouring her from within. She wanted to rule, be the absolute leader, the only deity alive but to perform such a feat, she had to play it nice and easy. Leviathan could die, but Elpis couldn't be alive. If Gaea died, Elpis would become the next All-mother and that couldn't happen. Gaea, herself, was vastly powerful so to make it happen would require a lot more finesse than demonstrated by Ayasha so far. There was time for that. Ayasha was frustrated because she had to hold back and wait. She had to pretend to be weak and gullible and soft. She had to pretend she cared for Elpis when all she wanted was to destroy her sibling. She had to wait.....

Elpis was frustrated. She had been forced into this never-ending reincarnation cycle for millennia, with little to no window to the outside world. She couldn't speak, couldn't touch, couldn't even feel the sun on her skin for so long that she forgot how it felt. She had been taken away from her lover, denied a lifetime with him, denied happiness by his side because they couldn't accept her love for someone different. She was forgotten, tossed away from the history of the world with nothing left, not even her name on the lips of people who used to know her. There was nothing left, up until she scratched that damn seal and brought her beloved close to her again. Yet, she still couldn't touch him. Her current vessel was a döppelganger, a perfect double who looked just like her but was nothing like her... well... she was like her innocent self, a version of Elpis who didn't exist anymore. She was wild and full of hope. She was full of dreams and full of love and light. She was who Elpis used to be. Now the deity was bitter and angry. She wanted to avenge herself, she was bloodthirsty.. and sad.. and frustrated.

Nothing could happen until they retrieved the dagger of Fate. Her destiny was still sealed, tied to the life of that human who just couldn't die or everything would start over. Elpis was frustrated. She was fragile and depended on the active interest of Pride. Her whole life, her future, depended on whether or not Pride cared enough for her. Fortunately, he did. He cared enough to try and set her free. He cared enough to face Leviathan who could potentially kill him, in order to bring her back. She was aware of this, of the potential sacrifice he was making for her and it frustrated her because she wanted to fight by his side. She wanted to be there for Pride. Her beloved.. the only reason she held onto life for so long.....Elpis was frustrated. Nothing could really change until Leviathan was dead. Nothing could really change until Pride fought Leviathan.

Chronicles of the Primeval gods: Leviathan and Ishtar : Confrontation

A/N: Been musing around with these two. Now that Elpis came back into everyone memories, Leviathan returned to his old self. He still wants to become the New All-Father and destroy other pantheons (alongside the Sins) and holds grudges against his siblings (Ishtar and Ayasha). Isthar is getting impatient because Elpis is still alive and came to confront his brother. Leviathan days are numbered but I love these two assholes, especially how hypocrite they are.

Thanks for reading.

Xxxxx

Weeks....It had been weeks since Leviathan said he would take care of the Sin and his sister. Both were difficult to find, but the primaeval god of the oceans knew that Pride wouldn't resist the urge to fight him for the dagger. If he went out of his ways to protect Elpis vessel, then he surely had in mind to set Elpis free. It only was a matter of time. Waiting wasn't Leviathan's forte. He hated it. Rumors had the Sin fighting many battles on different fronts, which relegated Levithan to not being his priority of the moment. Otherwise, how could he explain to have not heard from Pride ever since he came on Earth? The vessel he chose was a handsome and strong human specimen. His skin was black, his figure broad and chiselled...He chose a strong meatsuit to carry his powerful essence. In order to fill his days until Pride finally manifested himself, Leviathan indulged in mortal pleasures. Women, fine meals and wine were part of his daily routine but after a while, even he grew bored of that. His tranquillity was interrupted that day when he felt the presence of the All-Father on Earth. It wouldn't surprise him if Isthar appeared in a war zone, after all, he was the elder god of War. The problem was that he appeared in the chapel Leviathan was visiting. His mere presence stopped time around them, making mortals unaware of what was happening.

« I wasn't expecting to see you on Earth, Brother. »

« It is All-Father for you Leviathan. I assumed the mantle since Khaos died. » Ishtar said between his teeth. His words made Leviathan squint and repress a snarl. He slightly bent forward to pay his respects and looked back up at his brother's face.

« You mean since you took his life. »

« Semantics, brother... All semantics. »

Ishtar said. Killing Khaos never really was something Ishtar came to regret, mostly because of the All-Father, save for Elpis, never truly considered his children to be worthy of his attention. He liked power, therefore, Ishtar and he always were in good-enough terms for him to lay off of his offspring's back but was it, love? Obviously not. Ishtar served a purpose and that was it.

« You are right. It doesn't matter how you came to power, All-Father. What I am interested in, is the reason that brought you here. »

« You still haven't found Elpis and Pride? After weeks spent on this damn rock? » He raised his voice, clearly in an attempt to intimidate his brother but Leviathan held his head straight and growled lowly as his eyes turned green.

« You might have the title and the powers, You should know I am not to be trifled with. » He said in a warning tone. « Cut the act and listen to me. I cannot find them. If our own sister, Ayasha, can't find Elpis and the sin, I don't know how I can. However, the word is out. They know I have the dagger of Fate and they would come get it. When they do, I guarantee you they would be dead. »

Ishtar furrowed his brows and crossed his arms over his strong chest. He was wearing his full bronze armour, displaying his emblem -a lion- on his chest, arm plates and shoulder pads. His shield was on his back, carefully placed on a shield holder he was wearing on his back. It contrasted visually with the singular green water suit his brother was wearing. Leviathan ran his hand over his beard and chuckled at the anger thinly repressed by Isthar. He himself was barely containing his own anger at his brother. He, who not only took the title and power of the All-Father turned Leviathan into nothing more but a servant. How could the god ever forgive his sibling?? He, who was supposed to reign over the other gods? He, who was the older brother was now reduced to being a lackey? He had tremendous power and control and yet was reduced to being the lapdog of the god of war, new All-Father, much to Leviathan's anger.

« Good. I want it to be over with. Elpis should not come back to life. »

« Are you scared of her turning into the goddess of despair? Are you afraid of her wrath, All-Father? » He sneered between his teeth. Ishtar growled and hit his chest plate with his fist, to give himself some sense of superiority.

« Of course not! I am not scared of my little sister. I got to see her when she returned from the Sumerian pantheon. I know what she's capable of, but I am the All-Father now, I am more than powerful enough to wipe her out if need be. »

« So why do you need her dead now? Is it because you know everyone is aware of what you did? Is it because you're afraid of a rebellion among your people? »

« That power was mine to take. I am the rightful--- »

« IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME! » Yelled the god of the Ocean who snapped his fingers and hit the trident against the floor, breaking it. « It should have been me, little brother and you know it. You are not wise, you are not poised, you aren't made for ruling a pantheon. You are the God of War-- »

« What do you know about me? » Interrupted Ishtar, hitting his chest once again, hard enough to make Leviathan snarl at the vibration in the air.

« I know enough to see that Ayasha is the one behind you. She's the one pulling the strings and was the one who tasked you with stabbing Elpis, to begin with. »

« I made that choice. I decided to, myself! »

« No brother, you are a pawn in her game. A chess piece she's moving at her leisure. I don't know what she's after, but she's using you. She's using us to get rid of Elpis. »

« Enough! » Ishtar came closer to Leviathan and wrapped his hand around his neck. The elder god of the Oceans could have retaliated but Ishtar was his All-Father and clearly, his powers were amplified. He growled, suffocating because of the tight embrace and growled louder. « Enough Leviathan. I don't want to hear your filthy mouth try and slander our sister. She's clever, yes, but she doesn't have evil intentions. She wants the best for us and you're not making it easier. Do you think I don't know what you really want? »

« And what do I want, brother? » Leviathan defiantly said, cocking a brow at his brother's suggestion.

« Power. » Replied Ishtar. « You want power but you're not going to have it. I have the power you so desperately desire and this is how things are going to be from now and forever! » He released his throat and let him fell to the ground. « It's true I didn't kill Elpis. I just couldn't bring myself to killing her. She is innocent about what is happening. Her love for that filth was genuine, she truly believed they were sharing a connection. »

« Then she was stupid! I never could understand how stupid our parents made her. She listened to Sitaa way too many times and took her bullshit about love too seriously. She chose a weapon over any of us.. over me. She chose a weapon! »

« Is that what it is about? Elpis not choosing you? Are you seriously this pathetic? Punishing her for choosing someone else? »

« Someone ?? you mean something else! She got into her pretty head that sins were capable of feelings, of emotions... to have a soul when we all know it can't be the case. Hades wasn't a fool to create weapons capable of free thinking... Mind you, they killed him. They pretend to have a soul but they are empty shells. She was naive enough to fool herself into thinking Pride could make her happy. I could have made her happy. » He said, regaining his composure.

« You tried to abuse her... assault her, you disgusting animal. How could you be the one she needed ?! You saw Elpis like a trophy wife to parade with. At least that Sin didn't flaunt her like a prize. »

« She would have married me if you didn't intervene! » He said shoving Ishtar with both of his hands. He then tried to punch him but Ishtar dodged it.

« I'm not your enemy here, brother mine. Your anger and violence should be directed at the sins. At Pride. He is your enemy. He is /your/ enemy. » He said, dodging another attack before he grabbed Leviathan's arm.

« Oh no. He's not the only enemy I have. You and Ayasha are next on my list. »

« We'll be ready. » He said as he snapped his fingers and vanished. Leaving Leviathan on his own.

The elder god of the ocean screamed his rage as time resumed and people once again walked around him. He was confident he would survive an encounter with Pride and was already planning ahead his rebellion against the Sin.

Chronicles of the Primeval Gods : Life and Death of Leviathan : He just wanted to be king

A/N: Exploring this douchebag again. Each and every one of the villains of this story is only united in their hatred of the Sins and their disappointment in their own sister Elpis. With Elpis back into the collective minds of her folks, former grudges and disharmony came back to these gods minds. Leviathan is powerful but arrogant and his arrogance cost him the throne because he underestimated his siblings: Isthar the god of War and Ayasha the goddess of knowledge. Now that he's fully back to his old self, he's having a sweet dream. Keep in mind, he's a key player in Elpis liberation since he has the Dagger of Fate. Also, keep in mind he's an asshole and a villain? Hate him all you want:D I'm having fun with him so far!

xxx xxx

The Dagger of Fate seemed like a normal dagger. It was a beautiful lethal weapon, with an ivory sculpted handle, a carved blade made of meteorite and some gold highlights. It also was quite discreet for a god-killer blade, so the primeval god took it with him as he roamed the Earth. Elpis and Pride still were difficult to track down because the goddess was still shielded by the Sin's aura but Leviathan knew that eventually, they would figure out that he was in possession of the dagger and would find him if they wanted to get their hands on the item. He was counting on it, on Pride wanting to set his beloved free and being forced to challenge the master of the oceans to achieve that goal. Leviathan relished in knowing he would soon destroy the sin and all he had to do was be a little patient. He would be patient but from time to time a little motivation was necessary. Visiting places by the sea was his favorite activity. It allowed him to think his plan through and anticipate the next move of his enemies. Ayasha and Ishtar were his end goal of course! He would overthrow the new All-Father and his wise sister and take the throne for himself but Elpis and Pride were his current targets.

He stopped by a wooden deck. The sea was agitated on that day which mirrored his emotions as he recollected the past events that led to his current situation. Ayasha outsmarted him and favored Ishtar who became the new all-father instead of him. Elpis refused to marry him and when he tried to punish her, Ishtar intervened. Today, Leviathan was sporting a rather dashing look. Always an amateur of fine clothes, he was wearing a midnight blue suit and leather shoes. His beard grew a little more since he arrived on Earth so he ran his calloused fingers over the softness of the beard his vessel sported. His chestnut eyes were staring at the violent waves that crashed onto the rocks below the deck and the seagulls added some familiarity to the melody of the sea. There, Leviathan felt he was in his element and he would indulge in daydreaming. They helped him resist his frustration of being spoiled of a title he had always dreamed about. Ever since he realized he had power, the master of the ocean developed a taste for power. At first, his ambition was to be the best of his Khaos children and overpower the oldest siblings such as Sitaa or Ishtar. Those two emotions, war, and love were powerful and eternal. Of course, he would have to do better than Ishtar and Sitaa but it wasn't small feat. However, instead of allowing defeat to infiltrate his heart, he took refuge in his ambition and allowed it to fuel his motivation.

He always imagined an alternate timeline where Elpis was still naive and innocent and Khaos was still alive. Leviathan fancied that if he had known earlier that Elpis was seeing Pride, he would have stopped this madness before any real damage could have been done. He imagined overthrowing the Khaos and crowning himself the new All-Father of the primeval gods. Gaea, of course, would have been spared or maybe exiled on Earth since she cared so much for humanity. He would have defeated Pride and the rest of the seven sins and put him on a leash. The idea of having the most lethal weapon at the tip of his fingers sent shivers down his spine. He already knew how to put Pride to good use, how to smash his enemies without even risking his life in wars he might lose. He would send Pride instead and eliminate whoever wanted to oppose him. The thought of dominating such a threat made the god's crotch harden. He knew he would enjoy humiliating this creature who pretended to be at the same level than the gods. Sins were abominations and the god of the oceans would never see them for something else. He would never acknowledge them being capable of feeling emotions. Leviathan imagined the sweet and solar Elpis agreed to marry him and sit on his lap while he would be on the throne. He imagined receiving some affection with her soft hands stroking his chest and her lips finding their ways to his neck. He imagined her being completely submissive to him, following his very commands. She would worship him for only he was the strongest and best god there was. She would not resist him when his hands would explore her curves when he would hold onto her soft plump flesh, when he would claim her body with his divine cock.

He had always lusted after her. She was stunning already. Her pink locks and bumblebee eyes made her uniquely attractive. Yet it was Elpis innocence and naiveté that attracted the god and made him fantasize about her. Much like the wars he fought, she was a land yet to conquer in his perfect fantasy. A land he would visit and make his every single day for eternity. It couldn't go otherwise, at least, not in his head. A low growl escaped from his lips as he caressed the dream of claiming Elpis to himself, ruling as the king and dominating Pride. He added a twist in his scenario. Indeed, the kicks he would get would be more important if he achieved all of this /after/ she gave herself to Pride. Leviathan was vindictive and repulsive in his ways to exert his vengeance. He still remembered what happened a few nights before she was stabbed by Ishtar. She had the audacity to reject him when he tried to marry her. She first used her words, claiming foolish love for a creature that couldn't feel anything. When he tried to overpower her with his intimidating presence, she didn't submit to him. Elpis wanted Pride and she fiercely rejected her older brother. He pushed her against the mattress, his eyes were fuming with rage and with foam at the corner of his mouth. Elpis was scared of him but fought against him so fiercely so he wouldn't take advantage of her. She screamed for help, pushed him away and even tried to use her powers to harm him but her fear of the god rendered her powers ineffective. Elpis was at his mercy and he would have had her, he would have, if it wasn't for Ishtar.

Ishtar came to Elpis rescue and the two gods fought for a while before Leviathan stepped down in favor of his younger brother. Ishtar was more powerful than him because he was the god of War and was imbued with great power. He watched as Ishtar took Elpis away, saving her from Leviathan and ruining his efforts to overpower the goddess. If Pride was responsible for soiling Elpis, Isthar was a rival the master of the oceans wanted to get rid of. As he looked at the angry sea that became even more agitated to reflect his state of mind, Leviathan outstretched his hand towards the infinite water before him. He could bend it to his will and he knew that this power could help him take over his brother's throne. A smile crept on his lips at the thought of his vengeance and lifted his hand, provoking a typhoon where there should be none. A soft chuckle tore the silence open and forced the god to turn his attention to its owner. It wasn't difficult to guess since he already heard that voice before. As he turned his head to the side, he saw his sister. Magnificent vessel she chose in that green-eyed blonde. Magnificent she was indeed, in that tight long-sleeved blue dress she was wearing. Clever as well, since she knew blue was his favorite color.

« I thought you trusted me to find our sister, Ayasha. »

«The All-father surely doesn't. I came on his behalf and I suggest we find another place. I do not like the sea. I do not like being this vulnerable and in the open, we never know where Pride's spies could be. »

« Fair enough sister. We will find a more suitable place for the conversation to follow. »

He snapped his fingers, zapping them back to the main city, in front of a tea shop. Ayasha was a ruthless manipulator and he knew that if he wasn't careful, she could very well sway him in. He was the primeval god who wanted to be King and goddamnit, he would be.
