Copg: Life of Elpis: Existence

 // Because it's been a while.

xxx

"I want more than just a mere revenge on my pantheon, Superbia."Those words had never left the pink-haired goddess. It was the first time she acknowledged her desire for more than just punishing those who had betrayed her. Elpis realized she could be more than just a sidekick to the Sin. The first weeks of her recovery established her playful nature. She realized in Vancouver, that she expected more to her life than simply existing. She enjoyed her little stint with the Sumerian pantheon and how powerful she felt when she decimated it. She wanted to experience more thrills, test her limits, conquer lands, realms, planets, and the fucking universe. She discovered Greed that had been hidden for a long while, washed out and ignored by the careful and meticulous plan of her family.  She wanted more from her life and she didn't want to be held back by anything or anyone. She had tasted freedom and she didn't want to go back to who she used to be.

Elpis realized that her whole life had been a lie. Her siblings played along with their parents to keep her contained. They lied and manipulated her into being submissive, meek, kind, and small. She had a power that could both influence mortals and humans alike. She was a force to reckon with, a force so strong that they couldn't quite defeat her, no matter how hard they tried. She was "Balance", true balance, as the child of Khaos the god of destruction, and Gaea, the goddess of creation. She was Hope and light, two elements that were needed for words to exist and persevere. it was hope that motivated living beings. It was Hope that decided the world's fate. It was Hope that controlled everything, life included for it could toy with it, turn it into something greater. It was Her.

Superbia heard her well when she requested more. He enjoyed seeing her like that. like what? free! She was free and that was enough for the Sin. She knew how to balance him. She always knew what to say to push him into doing something and she knew how to stop him from making a mistake. He didn't consume himself as fast as he used to, he didn't take the risk to be unmade because she tempered him when he went too far away. She tempered him when he wanted to squash all of existence without proper preparation or proper strength. She also fueled his desires, his ambition, and the feeling that he could achieve anything he put his mind to. he could, but this time, not just because he believed in himself. He could because she believed in him.

He would give her everything, the Earth, the galaxy, and even the fucking universe if she wanted it. He would make sure his queen had anything she needed and anything she didn't know she needed. He wanted to see the smile of his Light. He wanted to be lavished with her attention. He wanted to ay his existence at her feet for he worshipped her. She made him a better Sin, unknowingly, meeting her kickstarted everything. It forced his father to unmake and remake him better, stronger, and more determined. Meeting her again, with his new form transformed Pride and made him into the creature he was today. Her existence was a gift very few could understand, but he did. He did!

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life of Elpis: Thunder and Lightning

Chronicles of the primeval gods: Life of Elpis: Thunder and Lightning

A/N : Welp, I have been thinking of them lately :p just a little in between with these two gods having fun.

Vancouver, after a masquerade party, somewhere around 11 pm

Pride despised humans, he wasn't even pretending anymore. They annoyed him, their very existence, their sliminess, their stench.. everything about them annoyed the Sin who would rather have spent the few human months with Elpis, elsewhere. He only endured walking the mortal realm because Elpis was extremely strong here and it was her favorite place. As a magnanimous king, he even offered her Earth once they would deal with her siblings. He wasn't so blind to notice that she seemed to be far more powerful than in the memory he had of her. The sin decided to entertain his queen by taking her to a masquerade party in Vancouver. He knew she enjoyed the music, but he also knew she enjoyed being seen and drawing attention to her. The Sin wouldn't lie, Pride also loved the attention he got when in the presence of mortals. He knew he was perfect and devastatingly attractive to them and he enjoyed seeing humans lose their minds whenever he entered a room.

He soberly wore a black suit with black leather shoes. His mask was a silver one that complimented well his blonde hair and blue eyes. At his arm, Elpis was transcending. She was wearing a white dress with gold trims, her waist was highlighted by a golden belt. Her pink hair was tied on a high ponytail and she was wearing a black laced mask. At her feet, she was wearing golden heels. They enjoyed the time spent at that party, from the curious gazes they received to the waltz they danced, Pride liked to keep his Light by his side. It felt as if there was nothing else in the world after them. There was no primeval god, no direct threat to their little happiness. They danced without a care for the world. Engrossed by the waltz, the goddess of The light didn't notice her powers were leaking, influencing the room as she danced. People were soon enthused, finding more comfort and boldness as they were dancing by their side.

It became a frenzy, something unstoppable and soon enough the whole room was dancing near the deities. Elpis' smile was the brightest Pride ever saw from her. She was relaxed, completely into the moment they were sharing, laughing as she fed off of the worship of the humans near them. At some point, Pride remembered they joked with one another. Given the number of souls gathered at the party and the desire to have a little fun game, Pride teased Elpis about her ability to sway humans and control them. He wanted to challenge her for a little while, see which one of them could influence mortals better. She told him there was a risk of creating chaos, but the Sin didn't mind. When did he ever? He promised to give her a treat should she win and she promised to give him something should he win, basically ensuring that both of them would have a good time no matter who won this little contest. So they played. They waltzed around the huge ballroom, allowing their divine energy to fill the room and reach out to each and every human in the place. Purple and gold energy mixed together, They slowly intoxicated the mortals dancing around them, and should Elpis have paid attention, she would have seen the behavior become more erratic, more violent. People were overwhelmed with emotions, from Greed and Lust that had some of them steal jewelry, make sexual advances to others. Envy and Jealousy triggered Wrath in humans and the dances became more and more violent.

It didn't phase the goddess, for she was used to violence and death. Her brother, Ishtar, was the primeval god of war after all and took her to the battlefields of the mortal realm where she could use her influence on others and encourage soldiers to sacrifice their lives and empower her brother more. She didn't care about the screams, the yells, the groans, and sexual grunts. She didn't care about humans kicking each other in the groin, tearing each other apart, nor did she care about the pieces of flesh, human body fluids and bones fly all over the room. The ballroom became messy with people fucking each other right on the floor, with other raping people at the same place and those killing each other on the spot. The intensity of the violence only fueled both Elpis and Pride and she felt her skin slowly glow brighter and brighter and turning into pure light while he was slowly turning into pure darkness, a purple smoke even as his eyes were glowing brightly and a purple aura had engulfed him. Elpis could see the sparkles where their hands met and could see the sparkles and the fire produced by each of their steps as their energies played off of the other and excited the other. It was powerful, exhilarating to the point of driving her drunk with power.

Their outfits quickly got covered with human blood and filth such as bones and tears. The goddess of Light and Hope didn't care much about her appearance but instead pressed a searing kiss on their lips. Both could feel the sudden new and powerful energy flowing through their veins, the product of their own little game, and combined power. Elpis pressed him against her, laughing in between their kiss as she let her hands run over his chest and back. She didn't mind the blood, it excited her, to be honest. She was so turned on that she would have let him claim her right there, in the middle of the carnage taking place, but instead refrained from going too far. Instead, the goddess kept waltzing with her beloved, enjoying his tight grip on her flesh, enjoying his tantalizing strokes over her sensitive skin and the bites he left on her neck. It took the hand of a mortal, who clutched at her ankle to take her off of her bubble. She stopped moving and glanced at the hand before she realized her own skin had changed as well as her hair. She was pure gold, pure light now. It intrigued her and had Elpis look at the man on the floor, begging for help. She lifted a brow and knelt near him. Her hand ran through his black hair and she soothed him.

« I cannot help you, mortal. It is not my rĂ´le to interfere in your lives. » She said with a grin, consciously choosing not to help him. He was almost dead anyway, what could she do? Revive him? Heal him? Why would she do something like this? Pride lifted a brow, surprised that his beloved didn't help the poor unfortunate soul, but equally satisfied she didn't do it.

« Mortal??? mor.. mortal? What are you talking about? You're just like me... call the police. » He growled and gargled in his blood. Elpis kept stroking his head, way too enthused by her new appearance and the powerful energy that flew through her body.

« I can offer you mercy.. » She stated before she broke his neck for a quick and painless death. « Can you see what's happening here, Superbia? » She asked as she stood up. Pride helped her on her feet and plucked off of her face, some bones and blood so she could see him better.

« We made quite a mess here. » He admitted, wrinkling his nose at the wretched scent that overwhelmed his nostrils. « They ended up killing each other, out of jealousy, envy, wrath, and lust. » He said in a dark chuckle. « I managed to power-up. » He mentioned while waving his hand to extinguish the fire that was ravaging the place. « You manage to glow up. You look like pure light. »

« Indeed. I feel more powerful as well... more connected. I never have been able to feel all those mortal souls before, but I can feel them all... I can faintly hear them too... it never happened before. » She said as she looked at her hands before closing her eyes and walking away from the ballroom. « This is new, Superbia... this could mean.. This could actually be a glimpse of my actual power. » She said as she turned to look at him. This could be what I have been looking for, a way to surpass my siblings, a way to be a good ally... a way to truly support you in your ambition beloved. I have power...I am power. » She said, while she yanked her head back and outstretched her arms from each side of her body. « And I am yours. »

« Mine. » He repeated, coming closer to her and holding her in his arms once again. The sin grabbed her neck and pressed his lips to hers, forcing a hard kiss on her lips, almost bruising the goddess. « And mine alone. » He insisted before he snapped his fingers and took them back to their hotel room. The night was young and interesting and he wanted to make it last longer.

chronicles of Lux and Tenebrae: Remembering

A snap of his fingers and Tenebrae teleported to the End Realm. He carried his wounded beloved to his chambers. The prince figured out that she would have the best chance to survive if he took her to his place, but truth to be told, Tenebrae was losing his mind over Lux being stabbed. She could have moved away, she should have moved away so he would have been hit instead of her. He was the son of Death, he was the Void, he would have found a way to protect himself from the attacks and survive but she protected him and because she did, she was dying, or so he thought. The princess was still fully conscious as her beloved took her back to his chambers. Her black locks were soaked with her blood, as well as her face because of Tenebrae's bloody hands that kept holding her cheeks and stroking her hair on the battlefield. The scent was nauseating, truly. She was used to fighting, a little bit of blood wasn't a problem but for some reasons, this time it was. Maybe it was because she couldn't heal from her injury since her powers weren't back and she was contemplating dying again. Maybe it was the distraught face of her beloved that turned the situation into a nightmare. Lux was wondering how bad her injury was because of the prince's face. Her silver eyes never quite left his as he was tending to her wound.

« Why did you do it, Lux? Why? »

He couldn't use a spell to heal her. Because she was alive and he was dead, none of the spells he knew actually worked on her. If he tried to cast a healing spell on her, it would have the opposite effect so he didn't even try. The prince was mortified at the idea of losing her again. If she died while Life was still in a coma, she would be dead for good so he cupped Lux' cheek and hoped for her wound to not be critical. She smiled faintly and put her hand above his.

« Because I had to. » She said after she breathed in. « I just had to protect you. » She smiled through the pain before she leaned into the soft pillow. Tenebrae knitted his brows, his face slowly fading and turning into a skull. « I am not going to die, Tenebrae. » -She tried to reassure him but the faint voice of hers didn't work on him.-

« You already died, Lux. I've lost you once. » -His voice boomed, it was altered because he was in his true form. She never feared his true appearance, never shook or shivered when in his presence because it was his real self. It was familiar even though her memory was at fault. It was familiar and she felt safe by his side. She didn't mind the flames on his face and still cupped the cheekbone, her fingers slightly burning because of that divine fire. He leaned into her touch and put his hand on her belly, to keep her steady. « I can't afford to lose you again. » He said, his flames turning even bluer. He was crying, despite the absence of tears, Lux could feel that his soul was already feeling sorrow and fear. Because they were connected, even without her full memory of him, the princess was already very close to him. She could tell the smallest variation of his body language or the tone of his voice. She knew how he felt because he was like an open-book.

When Tenebrae learned the princess had been killed, he felt as if his whole world was crumbling down at his feet. He had lost the very reason that kept him together and anchored him to his life. Lux was the only one to understand the prince and give him the love he so desperately needed. He carried this loss over the centuries spent without her, searching the Earth for her and blaming his father for his loss. When he found her after aimlessly wandering on Earth, he finally pulled himself together. He promised her she would be safe, he promised her she would regain her memory but she had not. They fought the Horsemen of the Apocalypse while she wasn't in full power and without her memories. She managed to handle herself against them but the formidable warrior he once knew was absent on the battlefield. They didn't have the choice because their enemies had started a vicious attack on humans and they had to stop it before all life on Earth was destroyed.

And here he was again, on the verge of losing her, or so it seemed. The prince would have wept if his face wasn't a skull. He was only allowed to watch and wait until eventually, she died but somehow, Hope still resided in his heart and the prince expected for a miracle to happen. He believed she wouldn't die because if she ever did, then what would happen of him? He would certainly lose the last shred of empathy he had, the last shred of love too. He would become an empty shell without his beloved and he didn't want to. A soft smile curled on her face as she stared at him. Her silver eyes glowed brightly against the dim light of the bedroom, but he didn't notice. She was still holding onto his cheekbone, keeping him close to her with a simple touch. His sorrow overwhelmed her, his darkness engulfed her and cradled the goddess as a way to soothe her pain. It was something she had never felt before, mostly because the darkness was soft and warm and comforting. It was something familiar and powerful, something that reminded her of how things were. She gave into the darkness, finding the comfort she needed in such a dire moment and words just naturally flowed.

« I can't regret what I did, Tenebrae. It's just the way I am. » -She began with.- « I only thought of protecting you. » She looked at him. « I would do it again. » She then dropped her hand. He quickly reached out and held onto her soft palm with his.

« This is how I lost you... » -His throat was tight-

« I know...It was a day like no other, peaceful and warm. Mother and I we were taking a walk and she was talking about mankind, her love for them, her duty to protect them. I should have seen it coming, I felt something in the air, something I've never truly known until then. Fear. » She coughed and closed her eyes as tight as she could. « I was afraid, but that fear didn't stop me, love, it didn't. They engaged battle and I fought hard against them, I used everything I got but then, mother was in danger. I jumped and War stabbed me through the heart. This was how I died. »

The prince didn't realize at first that she was talking about her memories. He felt the warmth of her hand becoming more intense and it forced him to look at her.

« What did you just...Lux ?...Do you remember? »

She did remember! She talked about the moments she died. She talked about what happened before the attack. She did remember and somehow his heart was beating faster because that could mean she remembered him. Confused, to the point of not knowing what to do, the prince's skull face vanished and his usually pale skin replaced it. He looked at her, his black orbs coming to life. He saw her divine aura finally returning to its full force but Tenebrae didn't dare move. He put his hand on her belly and noticed that she was finally starting to heal herself. Panic gave place to happiness as the prince's face changed and lightened up. He was smiling at the realization that she was not going to die, she had regained her energy and her memories of what possibly was a trigger event. He started to shake, unable to make a move towards her, unable to touch her. His black orbs just observed the woman and a crooked smile crept on his lips.

He didn't finish his sentence because the front door opened and his father entered his chambers. He had seen the fight unfold from Time's castle and had observed the very reactions of the Eternal. When the horsemen were defeated, it became clear that the God wasn't pleased with that outcome. He turned to Death and asked him why they allowed the daughter of Life and his son to be together and how they learned about the ritual. Death shrugged and simply said that he was estranged from his son for centuries now and didn't even know the daughter of Life had survived the fight, which was true. Time pretended to be annoyed at both the horsemen and the heirs of Life and Death but it was clear that he was more annoyed that the children became the Alpha and Omega and sent the horsemen back to the Vanishing Point. It was Death's definitive clue. Tenebrae looked at his father and held onto Lux' hands tighter.

« We need to get to your mother, Lux. »

Chronicles of the Primeval gods : Life and Death of Ayasha : Envy.

Ayasha was sitting by the fountain of truth which allowed for her to observe what was happening anywhere. Her attention was focused on Earth, where her brother Leviathan would be. At the back of her head, the memory of the black butterfly visit played in repeat. It announced the death of someone she knew or perhaps herself and even if Ayasha refused to admit it, she still was afraid to be the one to die. Yet, it would be ridiculous if she was the one to die. It would be ridiculous because she calculated everything to the smallest details. She would not die. She had planned everything, so how could she die? Sitäa would have said that hubris would be her doom, that the confidence she had in her plan and herself exceeded the limits and was some borderline pompous mental masturbation. Ayasha would have brushed it off as envy. Or maybe an intent to neuter her desire for power and freedom.

After all, the goddess of knowledge suffered the consequences of knowing too much and of feeling like she was being cheated on. She and other gods of knowledge knew everything, so surely, they should have been treated with more reverence, more respect and given more power. Knowledge... knowledge was power and yet, Ayasha was nothing more than a living library, just like Khrön was nothing more but a paperboy for the gods. She resented the position she held and felt that it was forced on her by Khaos and the rest of her family. They prevented her from truly reaching her potential. They prevented her from being her true self and because of that, they had to disappear. All of them. Her brother made an entrance and looked regal in his armor. He was old fashioned but Ayasha trusted his experience and abilities to crush the sin. Pride was new to this game, his existence was new compared to the gods. He was roughly the same age as Elpis was, so to Ayasha, nothing more than a duckling trying to spread its wings. Her smug smile stayed on her lips up until Pride drew a god-killer sword from his sheath. This made her stop. A god-killer sword? How did he get his dirty hands on it? Ayasha became nervous, suddenly the prophecy brought by the black butterfly became real...someone was going to die and it could very much be her brother. The quick but brief shot of fear was replaced by anger and rage. The sin would die no matter what. They will all die.

Especially Elpis. Ayasha opened a small ball which contained some of the memories she had of Elpis. She extracted some of them, the happiest actually, so she could purge herself from the tiny shreds of love she had towards the young goddess but unable to destroy them completely, she kept them in that ball. When opened, holographic memories started to play. She could remember that time they went to one of Earth many beaches and just sat on the sand. She remembered the genuine curiosity Elpis felt, the questions she asked about nature, mankind, their family and how happy Ayasha felt, teaching her youngest sibling about Life. They didn't have many moments like this one, maybe two or three where animosity had not settled down just yet. Elpis was just a child, curious of the world and groomed to remain innocent and servile. She was meant to obey without question because it was convenient for everyone, even the well-meaning gods like Sitäa. Meeting the Sin truly helped Elpis break the mold. It made her break free from her siblings' control and gave her the opportunity to become her own person. Ayasha remembered how mesmerized and impressed they all were when Elpis destroyed the Sumerian Pantheon. She remembered the renewal of interest from her brothers, the pride in their father's voice as he spoke of his youngest child's accomplishments.

She remembered how lonely she felt when all the eyes were now set on the pink haired curse Elpis was. She remembered her own anger and the vow to destroy Elpis for once and for good without actually soaking her hands with her blood. Ishtar should have killed her, and he failed. It didn't matter how angry or jealous he was that Elpis gave herself to a Sin. He still couldn't kill Elpis. If only he had. If only he had, but he hadn't and they were in this mess, because he failed. Anger filled the blonde goddess who ended up throwing her ball against the wall and glued her eyes back to the fountain. It should be alright now, Leviathan should be winning his battle....he should...What?

The battle turned into Leviathan's punishment, much to Ayasha's dismay and horror. She watched as the dead forced the god onto the floor and made it impossible for him to move. She watched as the sin taunted him and spoke not to him but to Ayasha he knew was watching. He announced his intentions, his arrival. He announced her end and the end of everything she knew. He announced his revenge. Yes! They should have killed him when they cursed Elpis. Without the Sin, her sister would have suffered for all eternity and Ayasha's plans would have unfolded quite nicely. Without the sin and knowing that the dagger of Fate was the sins weakness, she would have stabbed every single one of them to oblivion. They missed this opportunity and upon realizing it, Ayasha felt her body shake with a rage she had not known before. She punched the water from the fountain and ran her hand through her golden locks. Elpis would be free, that was certain now. The thought made her shiver, the fact the sin was determined to destroy the gods, the fact he did kill her brother, the fact Elpis would join him made the blonde shake from head to toe. She shut her eyes tight and tried to ignore that strange feeling inside of her. Fear...She felt fear...how unsettling!

chronicles of Lux and Tenebrae: Love

There was no pain in the world that was worse than losing the only person you loved. Love was a feeling the son of Death never thought he could experience someday. Born from a loveless union, raised by the harpies in the outer skirt of the End Realm, where monsters thrived, Tenebrae was devoid of love. He didn't need it, didn't understand it. He just was. and the prince of the afterlife was like one could imagine: Cold and cruel. He thrived on the terror and pain he inflicted on the souls of the damned, he slew monsters one after the other until he grew bored of it. He was aware that nobody in the whole End realm felt anything but fear when it came to him. It was to be expected, after all, he was worse than Death, he was the void incarnate.

But he met Lux and she turned his world upside down. She loved him and that love was powerful because, for the first time in his very existence, Tenebrae felt whole. She filled the void in his heart, gave him a new purpose and more importantly, she made him less angry. He was happy and genuinely so. She was the only being in the whole universe to have seen his true form and not have fled from him. She was the only one to soften him when he was angry and made him realize that he was more than just the son of Death. She gave him a purpose and a meaning to his existence. And it was taken away from him. It made his heart bleed and he had not found yet a way to make it stop.

Love was this very fleeting thing, one minute it was there and the next it was gone. One minute it built you up and the next it crushed you down. Tenebrae was devastated. Never before the prince had felt this lost. He didn't know what to do to help her regain her memory and he was afraid that she would not love him again if she were to start over with him. It was painful to look at her, knowing she was this close and yet too far away, unreachable. The only comfort the prince had, was that Lux would eventually remember him because her condition was just an enchantment of her mother, to allow the princess to fully recover before she could return on the battlefield. The only comfort the prince had, was that maybe, her love would come back and along with it, he would return to being whole.
