A vintage's touch: A wolf in sheep clothing.

A vintage touch: A wolf in sheep's clothing

// the awful Archibald is back in town bitches.

xxxxxx

Michael Gray was a bastard. A cunning, sniveling, fucking clever bastard! He also was his friend. Archibald Worthington III, better known as Archer was actually very fond of the young man, mostly because they understood each other pretty well. They wanted power and while Archer had managed to establish himself as a force to reckon with, Michael was still climbing the social ladders. Still, they bonded and Michael even gave Archer a wonderful gift, he told his friend about the beautiful and sweet Mary Colson. What a bastard! What a liar! He didn't do this woman any justice when he described her to Archer. He saw her for the first time, moments earlier and was still haunted by the memory of her. She left the Grace Shelby Institute to meet with a brown-haired woman Archer assumed to be Ada Shelby. It was a hot day, so she wasn't wearing a coat. Instead, her full figure was merely hidden behind a form-fitting dress. She carried an umbrella to protect her skin from the sun but he could see her soft features. The two adorable beauty spots on her face, the warm and deep green sea that were her eyes, and her plump lips of hers. He could see the carefully man-made brown curls of hers crowning her face. She smiled a genuine teeth smile that captured his attention. Mary was sublime and while the vision of her tugged at some of his heartstrings, Archer could also feel that Mary had stirred a carnal desire inside of him. He had to have her.

"Michael, Michael, Michael... You really undersold this poor Mary to me."

Michael was on the other side of the phone. He took the phone call from his friend, well-aware that it was listened to by Uncle Jack's goons. Jack was bemused -so far- by Michael's attempts at taking care of his own family. He didn't consider this little Briton prick to be a threat so he didn't care much about what Michael was doing with him, as long as it didn't have a negative impact on Uncle Jack's business, he could care less about him. Polly's son rolled his eyes upon hearing the accusation from his friend's mouth and as he shook his head, he replied, suppressing a soft smirk from his lips.

"I didn't sell you anything, Archer. I merely just described her to you. I guess that you have met her, already?"

"MMmhhh... Not formally yet. I have seen her, however, and she took my breath away. I understand why you've had trouble moving on."

There it was, the little slap in the face Archer was known for. He pulled no punches with the people he talked to and only showed some respect to the people who were able to handle him and match his tone and attitude. Michael felt his jaw clench, mostly because Archer was right. He had trouble moving on from Mary. He desired her and although the last shred of romantic feelings died upon meeting Gina, he still felt a strong desire for Mary. He still dreamed about fucking her, owning her, and most of all, he wished he could steal her from Tommy just like Tommy stole her from him. Those fantasies existed and plagued the young man who couldn't stop thinking about  Mary fucking Colson. He dreamed of her when he was fucking his wife. He wasn't much of a talker so he wouldn't scream the wrong name, but if he did, he would have betrayed himself.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I told you about her, shook your fucking hand so you could try to sweep her off of her feet."

"A teeth-clenched type of agreement, dear Michael. You don't really want me to succeed where you've failed. I get it, I get it! Your hatred for Tommy Shelby is stronger than your desire for this woman.  But it's still there. I can see why. you have good taste. She is seductive. She is one of a kind. At least in Small Heath. There are no other like Mary."

Michael hated what he heard. He hated the sleazy voice used by his friend because he knew what it meant. It was the same voice Archer had when he wanted to spend the night with a woman, to make her his. It was the same voice Archer had when he told Michael how he spent his night, in excruciating details about the way she sounded, if she wanted him or if she was faking it, and the cruel desire he had to hurt his lovers at some point during their fucking session. Michael felt goosebumps cover his arms because he imagined Mary being terrified of that man, should she give into him. According to the young man, she was far too delicate and too good to agree to some level of violence. She couldn't like being choked, or having a large hand wrapped around her gracile neck. She couldn't possibly like to be spanked vigorously by a man who wouldn't mind her cries for help. How could she? how could she like to have a man as brutal as Archer take her?

"I know you didn't call me to detail what you have in store for her, Archer. So why are you actually calling me for?"

"I wanted to marvel at her beauty. You handsome bastard! You could have told me that she was this magnetic. I haven't heard her voice yet, but I bet it is as soft as you told me it was. I have to admit, she got my cock hard.  I will have a lot of fun fucking your girl, Michael. Mark my words."

"Archer..." -Michael let a heavy sigh escape his tight lips- "Listen, you better have a good reason to wake me the fuck up this early. I get it, Mary's gorgeous! Alright! Next!" -He sounded so upset that it made Archer laugh. Of course, he would be upset. He wished he were in Archibald's place, courting Mary, fucking Mary, and finally achieving his goal. The older man laughed, unable to contain his joy much to Michael's regret.-

"Oi, I think I can have a little bit of fun with you before getting down to business, now, can I?" -Michael sighed again- "Ah... I have made contact with my guys here. They are studying his schedule and observing Mary's. I have a plan. I'll get as much information as I can about Tommy, so I could try and use it as leverage."

"I told you everything I knew about his business and how he works. Why would you need to--"

"No offense, Michael, but I doubt he told you everything. Besides, I have to be careful. He is an MP now, therefore, he has many more secrets and is much more careful. I will get close to Mary and listen to what the streets would tell me. She will be the one to introduce me to Tommy and if what you're saying is true. It would be even more ironic to be the one who steals his business and his girl in one fine swoop."

Michael felt his jaw clench again. He didn't like the cavalier way Archer behaved. He underestimated Tommy, clearly so, and if there was one thing one should not do, it is to underestimate the devil. Archibald wouldn't tell Michael but he believed that a Gypsy like Tommy, doubled with a man who bought his way into the middle class, was worth nothing and should be crushed. He should have remained a rat under Archer's shoes and that vile prick wanted to punish Tommy for thinking they were the same. He was a man of noble ascendance whereas Tommy was a nobody. He was a man of class, whereas Tommy was filth. He would take great pleasure in destroying that man's empire and taking the woman he seemingly loved, away from him.

"Be careful, my friend. Tommy Shelby is not to be trifled with. That's all I am going to say. Keep me posted if you have an update."

"I will. See you soon, my friend."

And he hung up the phone. Archibald rubbed his chin and grinned as the thought of seeing Mary again started to fill his heart with excitement. She didn't know what was going to happen to her, nor who she would be meeting in a couple days, but Archer had planned to charm the life out of that woman. She probably wasn't used to having people pay her attention, and maybe not to those who would treat her like a lady but he would. He would seduce her with his wits, his money, and his good looks. NO women could resist him, some he even mistreated came back to him. Why would Mary Colson be any different? How could she be any different?

Chronicles of the Primeval Gods: Hope was restored.

Chronicles of the Primeval Gods: Hope was restored.

A/N : How did Ayasha and Ishtar react when Elpis was set free? Well, let's find out. just following our storyline, Babe <3

Xxxxxx

« No... »

Ayasha eyes grew wide and she curled her fingers into fists as she felt the energy signature of her little sister. It couldn't be mistaken with another one, this bright and powerful energy that spread on Earth like wildfire. The golden-skinned goddess ran towards the fountain of Truth in order to see it with her own two emerald eyes. She couldn't breathe and she felt her throat tighten at the thought of Elpis being free. The fountain was glowing, and the brightness almost blinded the goddess of Knowledge who squinted her eyes to be able to see through the mirror. She couldn't see anything for the fountain couldn't locate Elpis, but she saw the impact the awakening of the goddess had on Earth. She saw the hearts and minds of humans change and fill up with Hope. She recognized her sister's essence and it brought her to her knees.

« NO !! NO !!!!! » She held onto the fountain.

Ishtar crossed the front door, alarmed by what he felt too. They had already talked about the possibility of Elpis being set free by the Sin but counted on him being undone by Hades to eventually not care about their sister. It was a long shot but there was a chance that Pride would never want to set Elpis free since he was so hell-bent on destroying gods. They were proven wrong ! Now their sister was alive and her curse was lifted and both Ayasha and Ishtar felt her bloodlust as she manifested herself in this plane of existence. She was coming for them and she wouldn't even need to convince the Sin to fight by her side. Ayasha let an inhuman sound escape from her lips, a mix of a painful cry and an angry roar that pierced through Ishtar's ears. He was silently watching his sister, the words of his fallen brother still ringing in his head. Was Ayasha playing him like a damn feeble? Or was she genuine? Did she orchestrated the fall of their Pantheon and used him as a weapon to eliminate their sister or did she truly believe it was for the good of all Primeval gods? It was hard to tell, espêcially not when he was seeing her react to the awakening of Elpis.

« NO !!! NO! Elpis! » She screamed, her emerald orbs scanning the floor and the fountain. Her mind wasn't back in its place as rage-filled it and she wasn't in control? She grabbed rubble with her bare hands and was ready to throw it at the fountain when a strong hand held her wrist. She gasped and turned her head so she could see her brother's unreadable face. For a minute, she lost her composure and her lips quivered as she knitted her eyebrows. « Ishtar... »

« I know. » Was all he could say. He had never seen his sister like this, enraged beyond reasons, disheveled and with her beautiful green eyes injected with blood. Circumstances could explain her reaction to the awakening. After all, He was supposed to kill Elpis and he didn't. Now, because of this moment of weakness, she was about to bring those Sins to their door. « Ayasha,,. » He whispered as she started to pound her fists against his broad chest. Bless his soul, he wasn't reading her mind, because if he was, he would see a maelstrom of thoughts, and among them, the truth behind her every move. He would see the true face of his sister, the ugly face of Knowledge used for power and selfishness and it would crush his soul because Ishtar would finally realize that Leviathan, the brother he so deeply hated, was right.

« She's coming for us Ishtar... She's coming... » She gathered her thoughts and regained her composure. Ishtar was there and she was going to turn this bad news into something better. « And she's angry. »

« I will face her and those so-called sins. I am not afraid of Hades' creations. Why would I be when I am the All-Father? »

Khaos preceded all those other gods, he preceded Hades and he preceded the Sins. He was a being of extraordinary power and while Ishtar was in no way near his level, he still was a threat. He would have been unrivaled if it wasn't for the sins which had powers that could exceed that of a god. They were able to corrupt their minds, manipulate their emotions and worst of all, they had god-killing weapons...Well, Pride did. Elpis was a threat too, and while he didn't voice his concerns about his estranged sister, Ishtar knew she was a force to reckon with. She destroyed a very strong and ancient pantheon by herself, out of pettiness. What could happen when she was motivated by anger and a thirst for revenge? He dreaded facing her again, seeing her gorgeous face look at him with disappointment and disgust.

« She was supposed to be DEAD! » Ayasha spat at him, her fists stopped pounding against his chest as she tried to remove herself from him. « /None/ of this would have happened if you had done your /mission/! »

« I /failed/you! I know that Ayasha. How many times would I have to apologize for showing compassion to Elpis? »

«Compassion? Compassion? You dare call this compassion? You are in love with her, always have been. Don't you remember calling her name when you were fucking me? » She rubbed salt on his open wound, turning tables on him so he wouldn't even question the fact /she/ sent him on this mission. Her venom worked on him and had Isthar release her wrist and lower his head. She turned on her heels and bared her back at him for dramatic effect and also because she didn't want him to catch up with her true emotions.

« We have to get rid of her before they come to our doors. » He stated, his tone still apologetic to Ayasha, who he thought he hurt. Her emerald eyes scanned the area, the rubbles of the old divination sanctum, where Ayasha would consult the fountain and find out what was happening in any realm or plane of existence. It still retained the peaceful atmosphere that allowed for the goddess to plan everything and an epiphany crossed her mind.

« We might not even have to wait until she comes to our door. She is free and her memory is still anchored to the past. Everything changed, and while Hope filled the heart of humans, they have been living for millennia without it. They would not worship her as they used to...She can't possibly be as strong as she used to be. »

« What about her alliance with the sin? »

Ayasha's face was smiling, happy because she realized she found a way to neutralize her sister. She was still able to stop her before Elpis managed to come to the Elder's realm. What pleasure it would be to actually crush her sister's mind and soul before she crushed her body. The Sin would provide the much-needed help without them having to lift a finger. Pride would disappoint Elpis. He would break her heart and along with it, the desire to get revenge. She would lose everything and along with it, the will to live. How could she survive such betrayals? How could she keep her will to live? She couldn't and Ayasha was counting on it. And her face that was stricken with fear and anger was now smiling. Her eyes found their natural gleam and she turned around to face her brother. She wiped her tears off of her face and walked towards her brother who welcomed her with a tight embrace.

« It is going to break. Pride isn't the same as he used to be and Elpis is going to learn the hard truth. She is going to be disenchanted and you know how our sister can be a little extreme with her emotions. Pride will break her and he can even potentially kill her if she proves to be a nuisance to him. There is no way he would feel the way he did before Hades unmade him. There is no way he can believe he's in love with her, there is no connection anymore, nothing... but dried tears and bittersweet memories. Elpis will break and she will die, alone. »

Ishtar smiled at his sister, now that the blonde goddess finally found her strive back, he wouldn't mess with it. She was smiling and had a plan, which in turn reassured him because his mind was too clouded to eventually think about the situation. The shock was gone and soon, Elpis would be too.
