Klasma: A date?

The witch woke up in the new hotel room with the pleasant feeling of being fully rested. It had been a while -a month and then some- since she last had a decent sleep, so she eagerly welcomed the opportunity to sleep when it presented itself. Upon her awakening,  however, memories of the night before came back to her. She rescued Klaus and used powerful magic that almost drained her. They claimed each other. What it exactly meant was yet to be determined, but what was clear to the witch was that they became companions last night. Traveling companions… a covenant of two, maybe. What was sure was that he was hers and she was his. What was sure was that they would have a date tonight.

*A date?*

It finally was happening after centuries spent without going on a date, and that made her heart flutter. She looked at her outfit and realized that she could not go to a restaurant dressed like that. Her heart bounced against her ribcage, and she sat on the bed. She could not seriously go on a date dressed so casually! She wanted to look her best, and that made her furrow her brows. How did one dress for a date? Where would Klaus take her? Panic started to set in her mind as she realized she could not summon an outfit because it would drain the last of her energy she wanted to save to cast a protective spell on Klaus later. Would he mind seeing her like this? Her eyes shifted from left to right, and she bit at her bottom lip as an anxious feeling crept into her heart. Why was she so stressed?

Her hand slowly moved up to her chest, and she held a fistful of her shirt there, as if it was going to soothe her heart. As if it was going to help her see clearly the solution to her problem. The truth was that it did not. Calm down! Breathe! The witch wasn't sure about the reason for such an anxious feeling. Klaus was not her first date. He was not the first man set on trying to romance her. What did it mean, anyway? He had agreed to take her on a date after she asked him out the first night they had sex.  He had welcomed her bold move but still decided to be old-fashioned and take her on a date, only with the intention of being a gentleman. Sure, he had been kidnapped and spent a month painfully tortured among werewolves and rogue witches. Sure, they had claimed each other the night before... and this morning, but...

Her heart skipped a beat, and she hid her face with both hands. Perhaps there would be more to this dinner than just the curiosity to see her in such a setting. Perhaps it would be more a promise to keep. Perhaps it would be a genuine attempt at connecting with her. She hoped for it to be true and smiled against her palms. Yes, things were different these days. She wanted Klaus to be her companion, and while everything had been said in the heat of sex, she believed that there was some truth in it. She could still recall jealousy flickering on his face when she mentioned Elijah thinking he owned her. It was short-lived, but she saw it. Klaus did not like the idea that she belonged to anyone but him. So maybe there was something to be had there... something to work on. A budding relationship that needed to be watered and nurtured.

Rolling her eyes deep into her sockets, the witch cursed her damn romantic novels for even taking her mind there. In truth, she was afraid to look ridiculous next to him, rusty as it had been centuries since someone - anyone- wanted to take her on a date. She wanted him to be gobsmacked and think she was the most beautiful woman in the whole world, and perhaps that was the reason for her panic.  Why did he leave the room, though? Did he go and buy a costume for himself? Her mind wandered a little bit, and she imagined Klaus in his suit, looking desperately handsome and extending a hand for her to hold onto like a true gentleman. She deserved this. She deserved him. She deserved to be spoken to sweetly and taken to a lovely date, and this time, unlike before, the witch would be able to be fully herself with a man. And this, this was exciting.
